They have a sign saying that service may be delayed due to staffing but we were helped right away & our server Jr. was great & the food came out fast. I'm not sure what changed since we last came but everything was delicious & very flavorful! My husband ordered the spicy rice with Shrimp (we were told the spiciness was between mild & medium but definitely closer to medium for us) & I ordered the green curry with veggies. Both were great & my husband used some of my curry to cut the spice of his rice. We didn't realize we had been here before until I started to leave this review. We will definitely be back & this could become a regular & possibly weekly spot for us. Ever since I got Covid, my tastebuds haven't been the same but the food tonight was very flavorful for not only my husband but for me also. Thank you for a great meal!! Past Review: Service was good. Been looking for a good Thai restaurant in Orange County for a long time. We ordered Uber Eats once during the pandemic and this restaurant came up. We ordered the naked shrimp and my daughter loved the sauce so much we wanted to try dining in. We finally went yesterday for lunch and ordered the naked shrimp again with Pad Thai and squid salad. The shrimp and salad dish were delicious but too spicy, we couldn't stop eating them but our mouth burnt. We decided to come for lunch again today and brought the rest of our family so we could try more dishes. This time we asked for mild spice and it was much better for us. We ordered the fried trout, fried rice, mint pork belly, and pad Thai. The food is delicious here. From he outside of the shopping plaza you would never think the restaurant was so spacious. Ronnie numerous amounts of times to the point where I believe wholeheartedly that I'm a known customer. I stopped by today not to eat but to ask if I could use the rest restroom. Obviously they have no public restrooms posted on the door for customers only but having eaten their multiple times I thought. Hey they would recognize me. They'll let me use the restroom. When I asked to use the restroom they looked at me blank faced and said no such a bummer. Still our favorite spot! They're always so gracious and go out of their way to always make you feel like family. Delivery comes with a quick friendly chat! Our drivers always remember us. Great Thai food. I asked for Kao Soi which wasn't on the menu and they made it. A great combination of noodles and curry. I almost didn't ask about dessert because I didn't see it on the menu either. I was sadly disappointed in the flavor of the food. I was excited to try a new Thai food place with such great reviews. But unfortunately I don't understand the high rating. I ordered the crying tiger medium rare. The quality of the meat was horrible. It was so flavorless and chewy hard. And it was medium rare. And the sauce that comes with it is definitely not crying tiger spicy delicious sauce that I'm use to at most authentic Thai places I go to. Not spicy at all. I also ordered the pad see eww and it was way too greasy and sweet. I also tried the sushi side of the menu. The yellowtail jalapeños carpaccio was good but the first could have been a little more chilled it's weird to have sushi kinda warm. The crispy spicy tuna was flavorless as well. I also got the picky sampler to try a little bit of everything. The chicken satay is kinda rubbery and didn't like the flavor or peanut sauce that came with it. The egg rolls were kinda gross with under cooked hard glass noodles in it that was hard to chew. The cream cheese wonton were flavorless. Didn't think cream cheese wonton would be able to mess up but the cream cheese inside just wasn't good. The fried shrimp wasn't too bad but a little over battered. I was very surprised to find this restaurant in my old home town. I moved away about 12 years ago and came back and was delighted to see a Thai restaurant close to me. I decided to check out Sumran Thai off of Edwards and Westminster. I made a phone order for pickup, got some Spicy Drunken Noodles with beef and I must say, it's the best Thai food I've ever had. That's not really saying much considering I've only been to about 9 other places in my life but where I used to live, the regular place I went to was in no way near comparison of quality and taste. The portion size was on the large side which, with my small-medium hunger at the time, was more than enough to provide me with two meals. The service was quick, clean and precise and the restaurant itself looked very clean, modern, and welcoming. I will definitely be trying Sumran Thai again. read more

A look of pure disgust and disdain by the group of lady employees sitting around a table doing nothing but chatting and eating food. A look that sent shivers down my spine and the instant feeling of "eff this place, let's go where we are wanted as customers". Then a really nice lady quickly rushes to us welcoming us and took us to a table. While we were looking over the menu the same group of ladies were staring at us and whispering. They informed me they are under new management True or not, I was disappointed in my food for delivery. We ordered a shrimp pad thai, a Sumran pork short rib, and beef fried rice. Each portion was very small. The shrimp pad thai was okay. It lacked flavor. The pork short rib was probably our favorite thing out of the three, still it was over fried. The beef fried rice was my least favorite. It was boring and wasn't anything special. I think our total was $45 or $50 for the small portions and was definitely was not worth it. We were disappointed. Our delivery took 45 minutes. Update 10/30/15 This is my second time with delivery and it took over an hour although I live literally 2 minutes from the restaurant. I love Thai food and we needed a place to eat before watching the new Avengers movie with the Yelp crew. Outside, it looks unassuming and run down. It's in a weird sector of town but from the inside, it's great, modern, and a nice place to bring a date if you're so inclined or to have a nice fancy sit down dinner with friends and family. Menu is affordable - nothing over $12. I ordered thai iced tea and my usual, the yellow curry with chicken. The thai iced tea was great and refreshing and also presented well in a mason jar. The curry was sweet and flavorful with a generous helping of rice. Service was hit and miss which was odd because it wasn't even crowded. I think we were the only diners and we still had to ask for stuff and try to get the waiter's attention. Oh well. Overall, a fun dining experience with the Yelp ladies. read more

My group wanted to have a nice sit down dinner before the movie CMYE, so we thought Sumran fit the bill. Upon entering, we were immediately welcomed and show our table. This was before the dinner crowd and on a Monday, so there were plenty of seats available. The seats along the wall are especially comfortable. To start I ordered a Thai iced tea which came in a mason jar. It was not too sweet and tasty. We ordered the yellow curry with chicken and the pad Thai. The yellow curry came with thinly sliced carrots, bell peppers, good chunks of potatoes, and bite sized pieces of white meat chicken. The curry itself was a little thin for my taste, but it was flavorful well made. The pad Thai didn't have peanuts, but the noodles and beet tasted right. I liked Sumran Thai and it will be on my radar for places to eat in Westminster. read more

My sister introduced me to this restaurant 4 years ago. My entire family and I have been coming here ever since. This place is our top choice for Thai food. Although we live 15-20min away, it is always worth the drive. The family that owns this place is extremely welcoming and attentive. The interior is very modern and well decorated. During COVID they are taking good precautions by having a plastic panel between the customer and the cashier. Even during these difficult times the quality of the food is still amazing. I highly recommend their Pad Thai with added veggies. Their Thai tea is also superb. I didn't expect much of it, but omg... their sushi are so0oooo good. It's my favorite spot for sushi! They make the portion perfect!
