Sun Nong Dan has to be one of my top 5 favorite Korean restaurant ever. They are open 24/7 and have great parking. Sun Nong Dan is located next to the 168 grocery store. My co-workers and I love it so much it has made it to our rotation for lunch outing. They do have good soup but I always come for their Galbi Jjim. The Galbi Jjim comes in a medium or large size. The large size feed five people with extras to take home. We did add extra meats and rice cake. Galbi Jjim is marinated prime ribs in a secret Galbi sauce cooked with potatoes, green onions, carrots, onions, and rice cake sticks. You can also add cheese that they melt in front of you. This dish with their purple rice is so delicious. I can eat this every day. I love the potatoes in it, it just fall apart with the delicious flavors. The service is good. They were quick to refill on the bachan and help us with tea and water when needed. Overall, an awesome place to get Galbi Jjim or soup for a cold day. read more

Second time here, and it's about the same as I remember from the first visit. One notable thing -- this place is open 24/7, which is great if you're craving something hearty and soupy late at night. Overall, the food is good -- not the best Sul Lung Tang I've had, but decent. It comes with three side dishes, all of which were pretty tasty. Here's what I thought of each item: Mul Mandu - Classic boiled dumplings that came with a really tasty dipping sauce. The sauce definitely makes the dish; without it, the dumplings are a bit plain. Still, pretty good. (3.5/5) Seok Uh Sul Lung Tang - The soup itself is intentionally bland and meant to be seasoned to your taste with the salt provided on the side. Once salted, it's flavorful, and the meat was tender and tasty. (4/5) Galbi Tang - The broth was rich and flavorful, and I didn't need much salt. The only downside was the galbi bone -- the meat was a bit tough to pull off and not as tender as other spots I've tried. Still, a solid dish overall. (4/5) Overall, Sun Nong Dan is a decent spot, especially if you're looking for comforting Korean soup in the middle of the night. Prices are fair -- I spent about $60 for the three dishes I ordered. I actually ended up at Sun Nong Dan one night when I wasn't feeling very well and was searching for something warm and soup-based that was open late. This spot checked both boxes perfectly. The restaurant is located in a plaza, so parking is pretty easy compared to a lot of places in the area. Once inside, the space is clean, spacious, and has plenty of seating. They have a large menu with a lot of different soups, meat dishes, and braised specialties. One of their most popular dishes is the Koh Galbi Jjim, which is a braised beef dish made with beef short ribs, back rib, and oxtail. You can also add melted cheese on top (for an extra charge), which turns it into a bubbling cheese-covered dish. It's definitely on the pricier side around a hundred or something like that but the portion is huge and meant to be shared between several people. I've had it here before and it's really flavorful and filling. Overall, the portions here are generous and the food is very hearty. If you're craving Korean comfort food, this is a solid choice. Service is okay, very straightforward and efficient, but not overly warm or personable. Still, everything comes out fairly quickly and the restaurant runs smoothly. This is the kind of place you'll come back to when you're craving something rich, warm, and satisfying, especially late at night. If you're coming for the Koh Galbi Jjim, bring friends, it's a huge portion and definitely meant to be shared. All around very solid Korean restaurant! I usually get the #1 which is sullungtang with fat removed. The portion is good - comes with a lot of meat. It comes with white rice. You get refillable banchan (kimchi, radish, onion, squid). Service is always really good. They are fast, no frills, and very nice. The food is so comforting too. My dry cabbage spicy soup was good and would recommend it if you're looking for something a little different. For a spot that is open 24hr, be surprised by the quality. The spot is pretty big and can accommodate large parties. Parking is a bit terrible during dinner time but much more spacious in the odd hours of the night. read more

Did not add the cheese though but I can see the entertaining appeal. The dish was super tasty and fun to eat with a lot of variety. The potatoes soaked up the sauce and were one of my favorite bites. The short rib could be more tender but it was still yummy. Service was pretty mediocre though, it was hard to get their attention and they never stopped by. Ordered takeout through Uber Eats and arrived a little later than the estimated pickup time. Unfortunately, the pickup experience was extremely disappointing. The employee that was manning the front, Winter, was apathetic and unhelpful from the moment we walked in. He did not greet or acknowledge us when we arrived. After seeing us waiting at the front, he walked into the kitchen and took his sweet time getting to us. When he finally came back, he asked for the order name, told us we would have to wait, and then left us standing there for another 20 minutes with no updates. And it wasn't even rush hour yet btw. After waiting, my sister went up to ask how much longer it would be. He didn't respond and simply stared at her with a blank expression. At that point, my sister ended up looking through the pickup bags herself and found our order sitting there among the other completed pickup orders. We had been waiting this whole time for a pick-up order that was already ready. And it was right in front of him too! What frustrated us most wasn't the wait, but it was the complete lack of communication and basic customer service. There was no apology, no explanation, and not even a goodbye when we left. The food may be popular, but this pickup experience left a terrible impression. The four of us ordered soups and 1 medium galbi jjim with oxtail, cheese, and tteokbokki. We were full from the soups of course, so by the time the galbi jjim came out we could only have a few bites and pack it to go (no regrets the day after). Quality was excellent. I like Sung Nong Dan. It's some of the best galbi jjim in the area. Galbi jjim (non spicy): 7/10. Good but I really thought the spicy was way better Galbi jjim (spicy): 10/10. Worth it. Soo good and not even that spicy. It costs extra to add cheese, but they torch it in front of you which is kind of cool. Beef plate with soup: 8/10. But this experience crossed the line for me. Not only did the portion of meat seem noticeably smaller than usual, but I also found a fly in my soup. That completely ruined my appetite. When I called, they initially asked me to come back for a replacement which, honestly, was the last thing I wanted to do after seeing that. They eventually offered a refund, which I appreciate. I'm not going to give this place one star because I've genuinely enjoyed it for a long time.
