Had to give this place a 5 star just for the juices alone. So good! Tried the strawberry milk and mango and they did not disappoint. They're also very generous with the samples if you are having a hard time choosing. Service was so friendly and attentive, staff is on point. We tried the shrimp plate with grilled veggies and fries which was very good. I don't like peeling shrimp but it wasn't too bad of a chore. Toddler approved as well for all my family folks lunging into the adventures of taking your kids to the mall. Will definitely get again! read more

We come here when at the mall. The breakfast items we tried are fresh and hot. They taste great. I'm eating steak fries right now. The steak as always, is good and lean. You get a huge portion. The guys behind the counter have always been so nice. I haven't seen any girls that work there. I usually get the pineapple/spinach drink too. read more

This crew is hustling! They're proactive, energetic, and customer-focused. The aguas frescas were fabulous-- rich and refreshing, and they gladly give out samples to anyone passing by. We also ordered the steak fries and a banana split. The fries were pretty soggy, to be frank, and for about $13 I was disappointed in the portion as well. The banana split had two big scoops of ice cream, whipped cream, strawberry sauce, and crumbled Oreos and was good. This is likely one of THE most underrated "mall eateries" I've ever visited. At the immediate food court entrance of the Santa Anita Mall, the or staff is always eager to offer a sample of their fresh juices and yummy bites! I have been there at least 6-10 times over this last year, and while all their food is super fresh AND flavorful, this review is for their breakfast burritos and super nachos. Packed with lots of bacon and sausage, eggs, tots and cooked as YOU like to order, their burrito is THE best I've had! Everything is freshly prepared, cooked to order, full of flavor!! Such an interesting addition to the food court. I was initially drawn in because I was really craving an aqua fresca. It's literally and figuratively so refreshing to have this option, especially when the mall has 5+ boba locations. All the employees were super welcoming and quick to offer sample cups to try all the flavors! I love mixing flavors, so my go to is strawberry lemonade, pineapple, and watermelon (regular size for about $7) So yummy, totally regret not getting a large. I haven't tried their food yet, but they have a wide variety of great snacks like steak fries, burgers, quesadillas, to even a whole fish. Walking past Sunday Cafe, regardless of whether or not you're there for the cafe itself or lounging around the bustling food court that is the Santa Anita Mall, Sunday Cafe's employees and staff really makes you feel at home! They are always encouraging for you to try out their free samples of fresh made juices, as well as giving loud reccomendations on the best food they have to offer! I remember getting one of their large Baby Bottles for $30 at the 626 Night Market, which came with infinite refills! While walking around the mall, I saw some people walking around with giant baby bottles. I was immediately intrigued and wanted one as well. I found them at the food court, and it felt like a party! Everyone was super friendly, and offered everyone samples! They gave me suggestions as to what to mix, which ones were popular and to try flavors I never would have tried! My favorite was the mango and watermelon, it was very refreshing. If you purchase a baby bottle or duck, they even give you a voucher for a free refill! Their menu consists of a variety of items, ranging from fun festival food to Mexican food. We decided to try the steak fries and the steak fajitas. The steak fries were topped with a generous portion of sliced steak and delicious cheese. The steak fajitas smelled wonderful! I loved how flavorful the meat was, very well seasoned and really good, even the Mexican rice was delicious. It was Friday night, my sister and I were at the mall late, and we hadn't eaten yet, so we went down to the food court in search of something good to eat. We made our way around the food court and browsed through the usual fare, and as we passed by Sunday Cafe, we were offered tons of different and refreshing samples of juices by a group of very cheery workers. I tried some passion fruit juice, watermelon juice, and mango juice, and they even were able to mix up the flavors. I tried a mango watermelon juice mix sample and I knew instantly that I had to get this concoction in one of their cute souvenir light-up baby bottles because it was so good. They mentioned that they make all their juices in house, so I think that the flavors might change everyday depending on the seasonality of the fruit, but that makes it so that all their juices are super fresh and flavorful every time. As much as I would have loved to just have my baby bottle of juice for dinner, I wasn't currently on a juice cleanse diet, so I ordered myself a heathy heaping helping of their meaty cheese fries which came topped with beef, cheese, grilled onions, and sour cream. It also comes topped with pico de gallo salsa and jalapeños, but I already ordered my daily serving of fruit for the day (in the form of juice), so I omitted them from my order. The food came out super quick and I was able to dig in once I found an available seat. Everything was ordered was so tasty; the juice quenched my thirst after a long day of walking around the mall, and my first mouthful of cheese fries transported me back to my middle school glory days when I was able to consume cheese fries everyday for lunch. The food at Sunday Cafe was good and all the servers were also super friendly and helpful with their juice recommendations and samples. They also have a wide variety of fun different food options on their menu, so definitely give them a try if you're looking for something different to eat at the mall. Back here to report on my mall food tour. This brand new spot sits on the far south end of the Santa Anita Mall Food Court. This corner area was dormant for a while due to COVID, but I was fortunate enough to visit here when they just opened up. This is an interesting eatery as it serves Mexican food, but you really can't tell from the exterior or the name (there's also a Sunday Cafe in Alhambra that serves Asian food). But the menu is definitely Mexican-themed as it offers fajita plates, nachos and some breakfast items. They also have a large selection of aguas frescas to choose from to complete your meal. I was hungry so I decided to order the shrimp fajita plate. You can choose two sides along with the main item. I got the salad and Mexican rice. The portions are large. Everything tasted very fresh. I guess this is their selling point: everything you buy here will be made-to-order, but my food took only about 10 minutes. The shrimp was plentiful and flavored well, and the Mexican rice was fluffy and well-balanced; not too salty. My only minor complaint is that they give you really small, cheap plastic forks that won't allow you to really dig into the food. They definitely need to upgrade on their cutlery. Paid $21 for the plate and a large horchata. Very pricey for mall food. Was it worth it? I think so. This is good enough to be sit-down restaurant food. I'll come back to try the other items for sure. read more

The first time I walked by I was like ehh whatever, let me try their aguas frescas. Once I did....I was like OMG these are good. They are not as sweet as other places. I love the Jamaica and Mango. Those are my favorite. They have plenty to choose from. My date got a large cup and was able to mix 3 flavors. At first, I was like, hmm I don't think I would want to try this. I did try it and was actually surprised at how good it was. They also have dinner plates, but I have only had their hot dogs. It was a tasty bacon-wrapped hot dog with jalapeno and grilled onions. Walking the Santa Anita mall on Friday and saw the agua frescas! They had an amazing lemonade with fresh berries, cantaloupe, mango, and others that you can sample for free. We went with a large mango that was big enough to share! Surprisingly, this little cafe has a lot to try for lunch! I went with the chicken plate with Mexican rice and a salad with 1000 island dressing. They only offer two dressings so If you don't like the choices, ask for a couple wedges of lemon or lime. The chicken plate was tasty with grilled onions on top! I tried a bite of the steak plate and oh my it did not disappoint. We received our drink right away, service was fast and friendly. It took about 15 minutes for the food on a busy Friday. We got our order Togo and ended up sitting in the cafe! There's lots of natural light and plenty of seating. read more

I always get the aqua fresca baby bottles from Sunday Cafe at the 626 Night Market, and was happy to see they are inside the mall's food court! My favorite is the watermelon, but I recently sample the pineapple spinach which was delicious and sounds super healthy so I will definitely get it next time. I got a chicken quesadilla which was very generous with the protein. I had requested the salsa on the side, but since I got it to go, I did not know they had already mix it inside the quesadilla. As much as I love this entree I could not even eat a 1/4 of it because it was SUPER spicy! Argh, I was so sad. My darling hubby can eat spicy food and was sweet to trade dinner with me. (He got a rice and veggie bowl from a different vendor) However, even he was awaken up at 4am with a trip to the toilet due to the spice! Yikes! OVERALL I was so excited to see that Sunday Cafe from the 626 night markets is now at the mall! They sell aguas frescas in baby bottles, duck kickers, and regular cups. The bottles and ducks come with a free refill and discount refills on any day you bring them back. The drinks are made with fresh fruit and you can sample all of them. They've also got some quality Mexican food and desserts that come in good portion sizes. I think the prices are fair considering it is important for the community to support small businesses. RECOMMENDATIONS Cucumber Lemon is my favorite. It's refreshing and not too sweet. I usually ask for less sweet too. It's a good mix with watermelon. Horchata and/or strawberry milk - sometimes I mix them depending on how I feel. I love that they use milk in it too. Banana (with or without strawberry milk) - So far it seems to only be available weekends, but I have never had banana aguas frescas anywhere. And it honestly surprises me how good it is. Steak (carne asada) fries - the meat is so tender and the fries are such a good complement. I get all the toppings with it for the perfect savory flavor. Other recommendations include bacon wrapped hot dog, guava aguas fresca, and watermelon + passion fruit aguas fresca. The menu has a lot of variety so I have yet to try everything. If I lived closer, I would probably stop by for lunch or eat here before seeing a movie. Love this place! read more

They've been so personal and welcoming from the moment I placed my first order here! All their food is great, well seasoned, and generously portioned. I've had the Asada quesadilla here many times but in the morning I lean towards they're breakfast sandwiches that are on special for 2 for 6.99 or their breakfast burritos that can be stuffed with tater tots or rice. They also have their signature agua frescas. I've tried the lime/blueberry one which is my favorite. You might have also seen their baby bottles at food events which you can also opt in for here which gives you discounted future refills. Was craving seafood but didn't want fried fish tacos. Decided to go to the mall & there was this new gem! I've had their drinks before at the 626 night market and they are a 10/10. There was a specific employee that was so enthusiastic and honestly it made the experience of ordering from them even better. She had square gold earrings that dangled a bit. She seemed so genuine about giving drink samples. Give her employee of the month! The fried fish was soooo good!!! Didn't know lime and tilapia was so good together. 10/10 on that dish! Went to the 626 market and saw lots of people had cute light up teddy bear bottles, so we decided to get one. Hefty price tag of $25 but we just bit the bullet and got one each anyway. My cousin's light up didn't work, but she didn't care much for it so we didn't go back to return it. But The straw for mines was defective, so we went back and asked if we can get a replacement straw, they said yes, we were estatic, she told me to throw away the straw, so I did, came back to find out she gives me a one time use straw. I thought they made a mistake??? Asked another person, he said that is the replacement straw........ For $25 each and both our bottles to be defective/missing something and not willing to offer an actual replacement. My cousin and I were flabbergasted. The drinks were really good, but before you leave with your drink, make sure your product is not defective! Omg these are the absolute best tacos I've had in my 20 years of living in Cali. I am a Mexican food enthusiast and these had plenty of flavor and the meat was moist.
