Cinnamon rolls are a fan favorite, and it was such a smart business idea to open a bakery that serves them in a wide array of flavors. I made the trek to their Alphabet City location when they first opened a couple of years ago, joined the line, and was later told they had sold out for the day. After hearing from a friend who tried them at a different time that they were dry, I temporarily crossed them off my bookmarks list. That is, until they opened a location in my stomping grounds of Flatiron, and I spotted no line. There were many flavors I wanted to try but these rolls are enormous, even to share among two people, so my partner and I settled on one to see if we liked it first. We love guava and cheese pastries so sat down at one of their tables and had to eat it with a fork and knife because it was smothered in frosting. So, I am sensitive to pastries that are too sweet and while this definitely hit my upper limit of sweetness, it was so delicious that I did end up eating my whole half share of the roll. I'm glad I didn't get a dry batch and would happily recommend these to other cinnamon roll fans.

A few blocks from our hotel, we found Sunday Morning. There was a line waiting shortly before they opened at 9am. When they sell out, they sell out and close for the day. The cinnamon roll selection has about 5 options with each being so flavorful, it is hard to choose just one! I ended up going with the original cinnamon roll and my husband had the caramel pecan. Mmmmm!! Both were outstanding! There are a number of tables inside, which makes it a nice quiet place to enjoy a quick breakfast! Highly recommended coming to Sunday Morning for a cinnamon roll! Oh and they have coffee drinks too!

Sunday Morning has been on our wish list since my wife heard about it somewhere. (If there is a good cinnamon roll to be had, she will know about it.) I was in the neighborhood (ish) and made the walk to Sunday Morning. (It doesn't say Sunday Morning on the outside of the building, so maybe the sign blew off?) The line wasn't too long and everything was available. I went in planning to get the cream cheese, blueberry, and strawberry - if they were available. The place is quite chilly inside - totally understandable. The dude doling out the rolls was super friendly and helpful. Anyway, they traveled well - back to Brooklyn - and were OUTSTANDING! These are not inexpensive, as you know if you've looked at a menu, but they are big and filling. We wanted to sample 3 - as a family - but we could definitely pick up one and all share it. Oh, back to the choices. The cream cheese is classic - just really well done. None of these are too rich or sweet. Pretty perfect. I think I liked the blueberry best, solely based on bluberry and lemon as a flavor combo. (I also think that maybe if there is fruit, it's healthier?) Strawberry is also fantastic - not too heavy on the earl grey if that's not your thing - just really nice. Anyway, there is a reason this place is popular. It could be the best!

I found myself in the Flatiron area at the end of June and remembered that Sunday Morning had opened a second location, so I had to stop in and see if it lived up to the original. I ordered the Sugar Glazed and the Blueberry Lemon Curd cinnamon rolls, hurried over to the seating area, and snapped the photos you see in this review. I kid you not, from the moment I sat down and took those pictures, it took me less than five minutes to finish both rolls. I am willing to debate anyone on this, these are the best cinnamon rolls in New York City. They were so ridiculously good that I immediately got back in line to order more. To make the experience even better, I only wanted one more Blueberry Lemon Curd roll, but there were just two left in the pan. The employee helping me was kind enough to give me both for the price of one. That small gesture turned an already great visit into an unforgettable one. These cinnamon rolls are dangerous, especially if you're trying to stay on a weight-loss journey like I am. But they are absolutely worth planning a cheat day around.

TikTok Sold Me a Dream, Reality... Not So Much I was sooooooo excited to finally try Sunday Morning Cinnamon Rolls after seeing endless TikToks of these ooey‑gooey monsters. No line, walked right in, ordered the classic cream cheese and the blueberry lemon. And... yeah. I'm thinking the cream cheese frosting was the biggest letdown. I had crazy high expectations, and honestly a good old‑school Cinnabon would win every time in a side‑by‑side. Both rolls looked great but tasted flat -- heavy, not very gooey, and the frosting didn't deliver the punch I was expecting. I ended up tossing half of each after sharing bites with my husband, who also said, "We traveled all the way to NYC for this...?" Maybe it was an off day, maybe the hype set the bar too high, but for us it just didn't hit.

Located near Madison Square Park this outpost of Sunday Morning serves up wonderful cinnamon rolls. Yes, there is a line, especially long on weekends, but its so worth the wait. The line moves quickly, and there is seating inside if you want to sit and enjoy your sweet treat with a hot coffee. Not cheap but worth it for the delicious quality. Oh, the aroma of warm buttery freshly baked cinnamon rolls wafting in the air here is so intoxicating! We tried a classic, cream cheese frosted, and blueberry lemon curd. All three were delish! So worth the calories! I picked them up to take home, warm up in the microwave, and they were yummy!

We had planned to go to maman across the street but as we were waiting for our table we noticed that there was a huge line in front of this store before it even opened. Once we finished our brunch the line was gone so we decided to go inside and check out what this was about. Turns out it's a cinnamon roll store with various flavors. I ended up getting the Blueberry Lemoncurd ($8.25) and I also tried the Sugar Glazed Rolls. All the rolls looked so good in the display case that even though I wass full from brunch I still couldn't wait to try them out and I forgot to take my roll packaged in the box. Best cinnamon rolls I've ever had. I don't have much of a sweet tooth and neither of them were so sweet that I couldn't finish it. I could actually finish the whole thing if I wanted to. The blueberry lemoncurd was a great combination of flavors and really balanced out the sweetness well. Seating is very limited but they pack everything in a to go box so it's easy to take it elsewhere. Everyone working there was so friendly and the line moved pretty quickly. In the back there's a window where you can see them making the rolls before they bring it right out to the front. I'm actually bummed that it's not closer to home because I would come back here again and again and show all of my friends this place.

Such a great place if you're in the mood for a sweet treat or breakfast! I came Sunday morning around when they opened so they were fully stocked. I got the pistachio and cream cheese cinnamon rolls, which were both sweet but manageable to eat between two people. I would love to come back to try their lemon blueberry cinnamon roll. I do wish they were a bit bigger for the price though.

Cinnamon rolls had the perfect ratio of bread, filling, and topping. Super sweet but went perfectly with a cup of black coffee. There was a line, but it loves quickly. Service was great too! Seating is limited only bc they are so popular. But people come and go quickly so I'd say stick around - you may get lucky.

Came here later in the day (around 12:30PM) and there was no line. We got a bunch of different flavors to try. All the cinnamon rolls were soft, fluffy, and flavorful, but the original one was the best one. Cinnamon rolls: ~Cream cheese frosted: Original cinnamon roll (4.5/5): the best one. Good bread to frosting ratio. ~Sugar Glazed (3/5): just okay ~Earl gray strawberry (3.75/5): Earl gray is very subtle but complements the strawberry ~Blueberry lemon curd (3.5/5): When I think of lemon curd, I think of that sharp lemon flavor. This curd was a little lighter, but it may be more of an overall crowd pleaser. ~Pistachio Mascarpone (4/5): good balanced flavor of pistachio ~Brooklyn blackout (3/5): Looking at this, I thought the cinnamon roll dough was going to be chocolate too, but the base is just their regular cinnamon roll. Wanted it to be more decadent and chocolately. Worth a visit!

SUNDAY MORNING @ NEW YORK CITY Subway access is super convenient here, only about $3, though you can also Uber, carpool, or try your luck with street parking. There is street parking available, but since the shop is right next to a busy flea market, it can get pretty hectic. I'd honestly recommend taking the subway, it was cheap, easy, and stress-free. My friends and I came on a Saturday afternoon after seeing this place all over Yelp, especially for their famous cinnamon rolls. They offer a wide range of flavors, from blueberry lemon to ube glaze, plus even some savory options, so there's something for everyone. We decided to keep it simple and try their classic glazed cinnamon roll, which was around $7. Most of the other specialty flavors are about $8 or more. The line was out the door when we got there, but it moved surprisingly fast, we were in and out within a few minutes. The staff were friendly, and we were able to grab a table since there's plenty of seating inside. The space itself has a great vibe, and one of the best parts is that you can actually watch them making the cinnamon rolls in the back, which makes everything feel super fresh. Overall, I'd definitely recommend stopping by. The cinnamon roll wasn't overly sweet or sugary, it had just the perfect balance.

My friend told me about Sunday Morning though their original location isn't very convenient for me. This one is newly opened and more convenient. The day I went about 8 people were waiting outside since Sunday Morning is organized and only allow a certain number of people to go in at a time. The line moves relatively quickly. I picked 3 items though my favorite is still the original cinnamon roll since it's not a sweet add the other flavors. You have to go try them.

The gooey buns were excellent. Maybe it is better eaten right there. I bought 4 to warm them up as dessert or for next day's breakfast at home. In the box I did wrap it in plastic to refrigerate and warm them up. Also when I got home I warmed it up. My favorite was the pistachio. The day before the store was closed by 4PM and had a sign all gone. So I recommend around Noon - you still would have a choice.

The Mango and Pistachio looked so realistic and mirrored the flavors perfectly. I love the size of their cakes which are perfect to share with a group of 4. It felt like items weren't made with care and mass produced at a factory or something. I went 10 minutes before they closed and there was still 10+ of each dessert. I'm not convinced that they will dispose of them. Even if they do, it means they didn't do a good job in forecasting demand especially after being in business for multiple years. I ordered mango and yuzu. Both were too sweet and had one dimensional flavor and textures, not refreshing per their stated flavors. Even if their appearances take effort, they don't look pretty enough for me to forgive what goes in my mouth. I'm used to having patisseries with many layers and elements. Mango's sponge probably only took up 20% of the bottom, because I barely had bites of it. Most of my bites didn't have any. I didn't like how liquid the filling was. It didn't exactly ooze out but just melted into a puddle in my mouth. Yuzu looks pretty with the pink and yellow glaze, but it didn't go with the realistic fruit theme. I chose it for the flavor combination which is strawberry, yuzu, and guava. This was slightly better in terms of flavor variety in the mouth. The flower on top had a weird off putting flavor. The bottom crispy rice apparently is supposed to be chocolate but it came out plain. It was tasteless anyway, so not effective in terms of flavor or texture.

I had to run to work after an appointment so I ordered for takeout. The person taking my order was friendly. I opted for the Lumberjack and a black cold brew. I received the drink very quickly, with a short wait for the sandwich. While waiting, one member of the staff stocking up supplies on the side started chatting with me and then she offered to check up on my sandwich. She came out with it shortly thereafter. She was very friendly and helpful. The sandwich held up well during my 15-minute commute to the office. It is a really indulgent sandwich, with each bite revealing the sweetness and butteriness of the maple crueller, the saltiness of the thick cut bacon, and the savoriness of the cheese and the eggs as the yolks popped. I sipped the cold brew in between bites to cut the richness. It was a very satisfying meal. The Lumberjack is not something I would recommend you eat every day, but it's good as an occasional treat. The cookie case was overflowing with so many amazing choices that it was hard to decide! The service was absolutely impeccable, and everyone I interacted with was warm, friendly, and delightful.
