I enjoyed it both times I was there. The chocolate chip pancakes were awesome. Bacon and Sausage were both tasty. I thought the hash browns were too salty. Orange juice was very good and cold...fresh squeezed. Eggs benedict was very good too. It was a clean place and a bit warm at the bar seating close to the cooking. Highly recommend this cafe in Seal Beach. It is bright, clean, and the service is very friendly. The food is very good (especially the baked goods). They even have an espresso machine. For me it's all the small details that make this a 5-star review: fresh sunflowers on the tables, cloth napkins, sugar cubes instead of packets, etc. Even if none of that matters to you this place is certainly worth a try! read more

I tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago and it was delicious! my family and I arrived shortly before 9am on a Saturday and got seated immediately as soon as we arrived. A few of the food items/dishes I would recommend are the following: - Chocolate chip pancakes: some of the best I have ever had! (& they don't skimp on the butter!) - Mediterranean eggs: a healthy delicious option! - Sunrise breakfast burrito: very good and served with a tasty salsa - Cinnamon roll: MUST HAVE - Chocolate chip cookies: MUST HAVE - Coffee, expresso, lattes are all great. They have an above average expresso bar! Other items I have not tried but have great things about include: avocado toast, tuna melt & eggs benedict! It seems like this place not only serves a great breakfast, but also an amazing lunch! I look forward to going back and trying more items on their menu. read more

I had to give this place a try for the sake of curiosity and a hope to find something special. I was not disappointed. There is ample parking. There was no wait (I went on a weekday morning). The dining area was clean and contemporary. The serving staff was very polite and attentive. My waiter was patient and able to answer all of my questions about the menu items. The breakfast menu had a good variety to choose from. The prices, in my opinion, were reasonable based upon operating costs for a small business. I had the Avocado Toast. This alone provided me an ample amount of food, forcing me to take my extra side of loaded hash browns home to be eaten later. I thought the food was delicious. Very bad service. They don't seem to care very much about people of color. We didn't feel welcomed at all. I will never go there again

The ambiance was very cold today. We were barely acknowledged and took sometime before a waiter came to take our order. No "hellos" spoke to the manager and her express was one of I don't care say what you have to say and leave. No I'm sorry. So, this was my first of many visits to come... The first thing you notice when you come in is that the place is very clean! They use cloth napkins and the silverware is nice too. Each table had a small vase and with a flower in it and the tables were spotless... The food was fresh and delicious. The french toast was the best I've had in a restaurant.. Really! It does take a little longer than most places to get your food, but worth the wait...I'm betting thats why the french toast was so good (made when ordered) Staff was great and the coffee is not they typical Framers Bros' commercial blend its something thats a step up from that...it was good coffee. Now, it's a wee bit more expensive then some places but the quality and cleanliness is there so, a wee bit more cost is justified in my opinion. All in all, great food and service... It seems like a nice clean place, very busy, portions are on the larger size. Service was okay, not great, but it was busy. I had some coffee I hadn't finished, asked my waiter for a "to go" cup, he brought it back without topping it off , I should have asked him to warm it up, I I really didn't want more coffee but it have been nice to add some just to warm it up. My breakfast tab came to $30 including tax & tip, so it's not inexpensive. As I stated, portions were on the large size, bacon served with mine wasn't that great, not one of the thick cut applewood smoked ,just average. I'll probably try it again, will order a la carte next time. read more

Food was good but a bit on the expensive side. I ordered a Cheeseburger and French Fries. Both were quite good but the burger was small for the price of 17$. I had to ask twice for paper napkins and they not real proactive in keeping my "wooder" refilled. I saw that all the guys wore their shirts tucked in which I think is more appropriate and professional looking, good on them. Men's washroom had paper towels which is good. read more

Well we tried a new place, Sunnyside Cafe. The service was kind of slow. I had the Tomato Basil soup, it was very bland; it was as if they heated tomato juice and added a fine chiffonade of basil and called it tomato basil soup. Someone on a Wednesday should go to Norms, or even Polly's pies, for really good Tomato Basil soup. I also had a very unfluffy omelet, it was very flat; but scorched evenly on both sides. My wife had some yougert, the fruit they added was fine, but that was sbout all. The wait staff, didn't care much about the table, a manager I think did most of the cleaning of the table. This is rated, I don't think I'll ne returning. read more

What a darling little gem. My daughter and I stopped by for lunch and couldn't believe how cute it was inside. The service was excellent and so was the food. We got the shrimp tacos, the tuna melt, the fried zucchini, a chocolate chip cookie, apple pie and key lime pie. It was all amazing and we can't wait to go back. The dessert was out of this world. So I/We have already gushed about how FANTASTIC this little cafe is.. But wait! There's more! Their french toast is -- like everything else -- insanely delicious. Moist. Thick. Eggy. Clearly FRENCH TOAST, not some bread grilled near an egg. HIGHLY recommend the extra $2 for the cinnamon butter -- I/We didn't even miss myour maple syrup... And about that. The maple syrup. They have "Log Cabin" maple syrup and it's REAL maple syrup. Except , I/WE grew up knowing about "Log Cabin Pancake Syrup" which is corn syrup and additives and a bunch of grossness. Couldn't fathom that this upscale-yum-spot-in-an-ultra-clean-diner/cafe-suit would serve NOT maple syrup. Here's the kicker: I/We mentioned, in passing, to the manager, Katrina --while she was ULTRA busy -- that they didn't have real maple syrup, only "Log Cabin". She said she was pretty sure it was real AND that she would check. Fast forward a week. I/We watch her come in to work. One of the FIRST things she does -- after her grinning greeting to meus -- is to reassure meus that she checked the label and it's DEF 100% maple syrup. Y'all: SHE. CHECKED. Then, SHE REMEMBERED, both meus AND myour concern. This place is HOPPING. Hundreds of folks pouring in and through. She took the time to listen, even in passing; checked; and then made a point of remembering to say something to meus, a new customer. Gotta tell you, this is TYPICAL of the caliber of service of this place. So I/We are sitting here writing this review as I/We eat my hash browns, bacon (extra!), poached eggs, and hollandaise with their amazing coffee and brown sugar (want them to get to Sugar In the Raw. HINT HINT. ;-D). I/We hope you come here. The food is incredible and -- delighted to say -- the staff is just as great as the food. This place was very impressive! Immediately I loved the dessert display case and then I was further impressed by the cloth napkins, immaculate cleanliness and beautiful real heavy silverware. I've worked in many fine dining restaurants and I'm not sure if their silverware was new, or if they found a better way to polish it? Also Lou Laguiole steak knives, wow! Now let's talk about the delicious food. I ordered the Chicken Fried steak, it was perfectly fried, piping hot, pasture raised eggs, yummy home style potatoes and that cinnamon butter served with the biscuit was amazing! I was having trouble deciding between eggs Benedict and chicken fried steak, so I asked for a side of hollandaise, it was whipped to perfection. My husband's egg sandwich was huge, fluffy scrambled eggs with melted cheese spilling out, perfectly crisp bacon and a chipotle mayo giving just a bit of heat. We LOVE this place. Every time we are in the Solana Beach area we must stop here for breakfast. They have the best food. We ordered French Toast, Omelette, Eggs and Acai bowls. Whoever is in the kitchen can do it all and do it all very well! On another note the attention to detail on the interior design and building is really impressive.
