Food is pricy but the servings are large and delicious! There is never a long wait time.

Sick kid, soup mission... and somehow I left with one of the best bagels I've had in a while…read more I stopped by Jonnyboy's Bagelry & Jewish Delicatessen to grab matzo ball soup for my daughter, who was home sick, and realized it was already 10:00 and I hadn't eaten yet. So of course, I ordered my favorite too, a salt bagel, extra toasted. My main goal was the soup, and when they said it was only available frozen, I was totally fine with that. It could thaw throughout the day and she could enjoy it whenever she felt up to it. Turns out, it was a great call. The soup had tiny bits of veggies and multiple matzo balls that were nice and sizable. She loved it, and honestly, it looked so good I'll be getting it for myself next time I'm feeling run down. Now the surprise star... that bagel. The chew was spot on. That perfect bakery-style texture with just the right crust. Not even close to a grocery store bagel. If you know, you know. The shop itself is small and super casual, with a very relaxed, neighborhood feel. Service was quick, about three minutes from ordering to walking out the door. They also have outdoor seating, which is a nice bonus. And one more thing worth mentioning... if you take a minute to look up at the menu board, they have a great selection of breakfast sandwiches. Definitely coming back to work my way through those. Great food, fast service, chill vibe... and that bagel chew alone is worth the stop.

It's a very peacefully place to have a leisurely lunch or just a pick up quick bite ;) There is beer, wine & a full bar in case you want to unwind with a drink. There's also fresh baked goods, hot coffee & teas. Really there's a little something for everyone! They pride themselves on there "world famous hot dog" it's a 1/4lb dog split & grilled served on a warm bun & a plentiful condiment bar to boot. Ask the friendly staff in the Deli how the dog came to be "world famous" they be happy to tell you! It's a cute story :) The burgers don't take second place either, the juicy all beef patty comes on a toasted sesame bun served w LTPO (lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion) you can always spruce it up w cheese, bacon, or an ortega chili, (w and additional fee of course. :) The meals include a side of your choice, now there is no fries, but they make up for it with their HOME MADE potato salad, mac salad or chili, among the other standard sides, green salad, chips & salsa or a bag of kettle chips!!! There is SO many food options it's hard to list, point is you should see it for yourself, you won't be disappointed!!! It is a lil tucked away, but well worth the visit. ENJOY!!! :)

Wondering if they've stopped seasoning their meat in order to cater to the demographic here in Atascadero.... Especially the carne asada I mean apart from having so much fatty meat, it had no flavor. The service is always great too, just a little disappointing. When I'm talking about flavor, especially for $4 a taco, I expect a hint of garlic, salt, pepper, lime, etc. I expect the meat to be marinated and flavorful. Maybe they already do that, given they do sell amazing carne preparada, but the hot food just hasn't been the same for the last 3-4 times I've gone. I like supporting local mexican businesses so I continue to go but today might've been my last. I don't think I'll be driving from Slo to Suprema Meat Market for their hot food again. The cold and prepared meats are of high quality though so this review is strictly for the hot food. I understand that they need to stay competitive with the market, but the total for 5 bite sized tacos was $22.... That's insane. For $4 a taco, I just expect more. I hope they review this and implement some change! I see that the owner reached out and I appreciate his response. Maybe I'll give it a try again.

The meat was very tender and the chili sauce that was in it was not spicy but had a good flavor. The beans and rice gave it a great touch cause they both had a really good flavor as well. I happened to be up in Atascadero with my daughter during their opening hours, fortunately, and stopped in. The last few times I'd tried to come here they weren't open, so I was excited. They seemed understaffed, with only 2 people I think, but quickly greeted us, took our order, and helped get our outdoor table ready. There was a bunch of road construction and my daughter wanted to watch the tractors and trucks. Nice little nook in the corner of the shopping center, decent seating inside and a handful outside. I ordered the cuban sandwich, I like them but so many around SLO county are just not good. Well, this came out on a beautiful bread roll and was packed full of the meats. The pickles and mustard were perfect, the ratios were great, it was a mouthful. The bread was baked excellent and really the stand out, as it should be at a bakery. That said, this is a sandwich I'd happily drive up 41 to get again. Can't wait to come back and try more sandwiches and hopefully come home with some fresh baked bread.
