This is officially my favorite sushi spot. The food is always fresh, tasty, and beatifully presented and they have happy hour 5-9pm mon-sat. And the best part is the service. They're so quick with the food even on busy nights (seems like they have more staff than other restaurants. Highly appreciated.) which means the wait time to get a table is highly shortened as well. And they are so friendly and attentive!! I think this is the best service I have had at any restaurant. I'll be coming back over and over again. Fyi: They add new items to the menu listed on posters on the walls but not necessarily annexed to the menu (e.g. Salmonholic roll). You can write it in at the bottom of the order page. They shy away from a great portion of fish, on their rolls. Been to a few places recently, and they load you up- which is great since the prices are steep. This place is pricing to keep up with the "Orange Hills" crowd. There are plenty regular Joe Schmoe's that live along this entire area, and the prices shouldn't be as deep as they are , honestly. The portions of the quality fish are pretty small compared to a few other places I recently visited and I will keep making that drive to go to them instead of wasting my time with a bunch of fake crab filled rolls. The food taste amazing everything is delicious but the pricing is absolutely ridiculous. I like heat in my rolls so the Hot Night and the spicy tuna are my favorites, however, Jaime's a fan of the shrimp tempura crunch roll and the Mexicana and those don't disappoint either. When I'm feeling extra indulgent, I'll sometimes add a hand roll into the mix (California, salmon skin, or scallop). Tried Sushi Boom for the first time today. Simply excellent. My wife had the chicken bento box. Everything was very fresh and very tasty. I ordered some salmon sashimi and yellow tail sashimi as well as the Baja yellowtail roll and a house ginger salad. The sashimi was cut perfectly and nice size. The roll was perfect. Spicy and very tasty. The salad is more than enough for 2 or 3! We ordered online for pickup and process was perfect. The restaurant looks clean and inviting albeit quite small. I typically don't write reviews but with the experience today I had too. It was the worst experience. I decided to stop in for some takeout and upon walking in. They were incredibly rude to me. I stood waiting for about 10 mins before anyone was able to acknowledge me, with a glance. Didn't offer to sit down me down, asked if I was picking up ? I asked if I can place an order. They told me to wait. Stood there waiting for another 5 mins before they can take my order. Lady told me it take 20 mins. I decided to sit at the sushi bar to wait. Another man came rushing and kicked me off and told me he had to clean. Lady came back and told me it would take 20 mins for my food to be ready. I asked If I can sit inside to wait. She pointed to a chair by the door and literally facing the door. I have never felt so little in my life. I would never come back based on my first and only experience heee. read more

I don't like writing negative reviews but I had to write this one. I've been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the food and the friendly service, even when it was slow or inattentive. In the past few years, they've removed some favorite items from the menu, and have started serving smaller portions. (I notice the chefs have changed, maybe owners too.) But the service has been just terrible. For example, last week I went with my son. We were seated but given no menus. We waited at least 10 minutes for anyone to even approach our table, and before we even received menus or ordered drinks. Then a server removed dishes with food we hadn't finished, after another asked seconds earlier if we were done, and we told them no. I can go on. And it's always like this. Confusion among the servers, wrong orders, slow service when they're not even busy. But tonight was the kicker. They close at 9:30. My son and I arrived at 9:05. THEY REFUSED TO SEAT US. Instead, they offered us takeout. No thanks. They just went through a pandemic, probably struggled to keep the doors open, likely accepted government assistance, and now can't accommodate customers who want to patronize their restaurant? Who runs a business like that? Needless to say, we'll be enjoying sushi somewhere else from now on. read more

Food is mediocre. But the reason for 1 star is because of 2 separate events. Our first time there we ate as a family and I barely had enough cash for the bill plus a 2 dollar tip. The lady at the cashier looked upset over the tip and said "That's it?" I went back to my car to get 2 more dollars in quarters. To which she took, scoffed and put in the tip jar. The second time, my daughter and her friend went and they shared a plate. But when they when they tried to pay the exact price for the meal, the waiter told them to wait and came back saying they didn't pay enough and they needed 1 more dollar.
