Visited Sunday and was happy to find out they had happy hour on a SUNDAY! The server was super nice and made amazing drinks and the food was very food and nice cold Saki. The table was a bit dirty but the staff cleaned it right away and apologized. read more

Everything leading up to the sushi however was disappointing. We did wait around 30 mins to get sat but it was a Friday night and we had a large party so that was understandable. The appetizers were pretty disappointing. We got the lettuce cups which just weren't that good compared to some other places, and the gyoza was okay. The service was not great. We had to ask for more napkins and silverware for everyone and more plates. They forgot a spoon for our lettuce cups. They didn't refill our waters the whole time, once right before we got the bill. They were slow at cleaning up the dirty appetizer plates and all of our menus sat at the edge of the table for our entire meal. The bill was over $80 for me and my husband and for that price point I would have really expected better service. I am glad the sushi was good quality though. You are doing that part right. But for me the experience is just as important and if the service were better, this place would have been 5 stars. read more

95% of the specialty rolls are basically California rolls. They all have crab mix in them as the main ingredient. The only two decent rolls are the cowgirl with spicy tuna and cowboy with spicy yellowtail. All the specialty rolls are also $16+. So you will love it here if you like crab mix and California rolls. read more

I didn't expect the sushi to be this good, especially in Arizona, but every piece tastes like butter! The sushi is so fresh and amazing and they have a wide variety to choose from. They get 4 stars because our server seemed like she really didn't want to be there at all. I know everyone has their bad days, I mean I have them too, but as a server you have to have some type of pleasantness to you, or am I wrong? Absolutely love the sushi here. Best sushi I've ever had in my opinion. Happy hour has great deals and the vibe is nice. We love the Las Vegas rolls, cow boy and cow girl, and the chimichanga. The service has been very hit or miss, but the sushi makes it worth it! One time we came for lunch on a Saturday and they were closed at 12 pm without any signs or notice in their website / google, so we call before we go in to make sure they're open. read more

Not only did they have incredible sushi but the edamame with garlic sauce was to die for, the service was incredible and the atmosphere was def date night approved. We had such and incredible time. Being from Seattle and raised in a family owner Seafood shop makes me hard to please when it comes to anything seafood related. These people were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The service was excellent and the prices were fair. Dinner for two with appetizers 6 plates of rolls and large pear sake $120 so very reasonable. Their sake also quite good, and cold which is how it should be served. Definitely be back! read more

okay, so IDK what the deal is but the quality and taste of this sushi spot is prolly the worst I've ever had. Or could it be from my cultured palate knowing what quality real sushi is? I guess I shouldn't have been surprised given the fact that AZ is no where near water. Huge Sushi fans here- it's is our go-to for date night so we definitely have our favorite spots! We visited the Sushi Brokers Gilbert location shortly after visiting the Arcadia location and having a GREAT experience! Sadly, not the same outcome this time. We visited on a Saturday night- was surprised to see that it wasn't too busy... we ordered a couple of cocktails, service was slow but overall unremarkable. Server wasn't very attentive and we were often left with empty drinks and needing water refilled. My husband and I also ordered a miso soup each and a handful of specialty rolls. The rolls lacked luster... they were not very tightly rolled, seemed a bit novice, the tuna itself was not as fresh as other locations but not horrid. What really shocked us is when we received the bill and found that our tiny bowls of Miso soup were $7 each! I have never ever seen a bowl of Miso for over $2... unless you're getting a large family size- which in that case, at our typical go-to spot is still only $6. And trust me when I say the Miso was nothing special- tiny pieces of tofu and seaweed- just the usual- enough for maybe 5-10 slurps. Was a total ripoff! Overall, not a place I would recommend for sushi. Seems like a box to check for an option in downtown Gilbert- if this is your ONLY option I guess it wouldn't be horrible. But there are so many better sushi spots in town. read more

Do I want to leave bad reviews during this hard time, no. I do want to acknowledge that we have been trying to support local restaurants during COVID. We ordered our meal from Door Dash and we use Door Dash about 10 times a week. This is what our Sushi came looking like. Very unacceptable considering you are a Sushi restaurant. Would you serve this in person? If I was the chef, I would be disappointed in my staff. We won't be returning or ordering from here again. Not worth the $80.00. The sushi is actually really great here. The unfortunate part is they are extremely short staffed. They even had a sign out front saying something along the lines of "long wait times due to being short staffed" and that was certainly the case. We sat at the sushi bar because we thought it would be faster and easier on the staff. It was actually the opposite. No one took our order for the first 20 min. We asked for cokes and had to remind them 15 min later we'd like our drinks. It took about 20 min to get someone to accept our order. We got one roll 10 min later which was great. The remaining 3 rolls we ordered took over 45 min. We were there for over an hour and a half for just 4 rolls. The only redeeming quality was that the sushi is very good and the staff are super nice, they are clearly running on a skeleton crew and very stressed out. Today put the last nail in the coffin to produce this review. We showed up today for Father's Day. No hostess as the line grew. The sushi chefs were busy staying up on orders and seemed to keep heads down until it was obvious there was no support. One chef took it upon him self to come out and give guidance to everyone to find a place to sit. Five minutes later still no hostess or service staff. And the queue grew. This was our first time we decided to leave. This is definitely a culture issue and management needs to get a hold of this. Coming from San Francisco (and a huge sushi fan) I went in with a craving for sushi and had only mediocre expectations (my husbands even lower). We were very pleasantly surprised. Juan (the chef at the sushi counter) was so engaging and gave us great recommendations. We ended up getting the cowgirl roll and the 12 piece nigiri. All of the pieces were very fresh and well crafted, especially the salmon and yellowtail. Juan was a delight walking us through each piece and chatting with us. We'll definitely be back! read more

The Sushi is very good. However, there always seems to be issues with other items there. We spent $80 on lunch. We ordered a House Salad for $8.50, it was supposed to have cucumbers and carrots along with greens. It came with 4 thinly sliced cucumbers and greens only. The portions of Edamame were small and it was supposed to have light salt but there was none. The wait time was almost 15 mins to get a food order in, so if you have plenty of time, you should be okay. The bartender and waiter had zero personality and when asked about the missing carrots, he said 'sorry buddy'. He did come back to say the greens they ordered didn't have carrots. The manager was advised and she said they had other carrots in the back and she'd be sure everyone knew that. I know this all seems trivial but when spending 80 bucks for lunch, the principle of getting short-changed just seems wrong. We asked for some hot sauce and was given a small plastic cup full which costs $1. You'd think they would've traded it for the missing carrots! If they want to stay in business, they need to pay attention to detail, and they need to make sure a customer has a "wow" experience. read more

Came here for dinner and place is clean and sushi was tasty. The Las Vegas roll and Tootsie roll were my favorite from the bunch. The price of the rolls seemed on the higher end compared to other sushi restaurants nearby. I ordered Udon Noodles assuming it was going to be in some soup and it came in a bowl dry. Luckily I love udon that much, so all I needed was some soy sauce and eel sauce to mix in with the noodles to make them edible. Not my favorite sushi restaurant but left satisfied. read more

We were told our food was next and it would be right out "if that was okay". After another five minutes we were told by our now found waiter that our food "wasn't even close to being done". After nearly an hour we left having only water on our lunch break. I asked for the managers business card and was told by the waiter "Give me your name and number and someone will call you". We have dined at this restaurant in the past and we were very happy. Unfortunately Sushi Brokers is not what it used to be. Our server was very nice. But I guess the kitchen was understaffed. It took quite a bit of time for food to come out and it did not appear to even be busy. This sushi spot is more expensive than most in the East Valley outside of Scottsdale. But in our previous experience the quality was really good. However, this time we felt the quality was very sub par. We had also ordered through an extra salad with the person that brought out one of our dishes and that was never placed on the bill. We had mentioned it to the waitress and she replied " you didn't order anything else" Just her whole attitude was passive aggressive, and I don't think that I would want to come back for service. Better off just getting it to go. --ALSO they had mentioned that they were understaffed but there were two waitresses at the time that we ordered, and there was only three tables that were being served. Food quality has significantly gone down. Used to love their rolls they are horrible and fishy now. Service was pretty bad as well, ordered an appetizer it came after rolls (it was edamame....) also asked front associate who gave us menus if there was kids items and was told no. Later to find out there was after looking for something for my kid for forever. Then to top it off the whole table got their food but my kids came out last, 10-15 minutes after everyone else's so my 18 month old is sitting there starving.
