First time ordering and we did take out. I honestly have nothing bad to say. You guys are WAY better than the first place I tried! The fried rice ACTUALLY had flavor. Your scallops are cooked perfectly and the shrimp is great. I coming to see that here in Florida it's quite normal to be served rice AND noodles and hey I am NOT complaining. I have nothing else to say but KEEP IT UP Sushi Cafe!!

Ordered online for pick up. Was super easy and efficient. Order was ready by the time I went to pick it up and they have a texting system which helps too. They were super helpful when I arrived and asked if I wanted any sauces before I left. I ordered two sushi rolls, the shumai, and chicken hibachi dinner. The shumai were delicious and flavorful and were devoured in one sitting. The spicy Manhattan roll was good but very large so difficult to eat in one bite. Very good with eel sauce. The rainbow roll was also good. Seemed fresh. Clear soup was flavorful. The salad was a bit disappointing. Looks like just lettuce, sliced cucumber, and dressing. I have not tried the dressing yet as I was too full. I am saving the chicken hibachi dinner for day 2 but did have a bite of everything. Did not seem overly flavorful so I will be adding some soy sauce to it when eaten. Might also add some veggies or something to the fried rice. Just very plain. Overall it was good and I appreciated being able to order to go and eat at home.

This was my first time visiting, and I can honestly say I'll definitely be back! I've been searching for a decent sushi spot in Wesley Chapel, and I finally found it here. It's a small, cozy hole-in-the-wall with limited seating, but it wasn't too busy when we went, which worked out perfectly. My husband ordered the hibachi and was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the meat was. The fried rice was fresh and didn't have any odd aftertaste--it didn't even need sauce, which is rare. My mom and I shared four sushi rolls. Our go-to is the Mexican roll, which was delicious, but the standout was the Pink Lady roll. It tasted incredibly fresh, and the pink wrapping made it feel unique and memorable. I'm still thinking about that roll! I also appreciated that the seaweed wasn't chewy or soggy--something that usually ruins a roll for me. The only downside was the fountain drinks the Coke products were flat, which was a little disappointing. But aside from that, the service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and brought everything we needed without delay. All in all, it was a great experience, and I'll definitely be coming back soon!

Small Asian fusion place in a plaza off of Bruce B Downs very friendly staff and when we went to pick up it was a good umber of people dining in but staff was attentive as we could see. They menu has the expected dishes from hibachi entrees to variety of sushi (California to eel and tun to salmon rolls) and sashimi and specialty rolls (Mexican, Alaskan, pink lady etc) it's not the best ever but it's decent sushi and hibachi. Mmmm you can get some really good suchi here. I always get the monster bc it's to die for. The other specialty I tried today was Diva and I wasn't a fan, it wasn't too flavorful IMO. But we also got the habacchi and it was SOO GOODDD, it comes with rice AND noodles. We had so much leftovers because the sushi got us full before we barely touched the habachi! Our service was amazing too, I should've got the name of our server but he was very kind, polite, and attentive .

On the hunt for a good sushi place. Saw the reviews and decided to give them a try. The service was great and we were seated quickly with no wait. It's a smaller restaurant but you won't be disappointed. Each sushi roll was delicious. We also got the crab Rangoons and Gyoza which were delicious but the chili sauce that came with the crab Rangoons was amazing. My son in law had the hibachi and he said the yummy sauce was the best he ever had. We definitely be back to try more options.

This restaurant is normally pretty good! We went after the hurricane and they were open. It was extremely nice to have good food and some power for a bit. The staff was a bit overwhelmed with the online orders which then made those seated suffer. Other tables got food before us and there was a decent wait but, all in all they were open and we got food. Whether you order to go or dine in, this sushi has to be one of the best places in the Tampa area. Every time I visit home this place is a must go. The service staff is always friendly Call ahead on Friday and Saturday because it can get quite busy : absolutely love, will come back, can't wait to try more things and bring people here : pretty good, some quality issues, would return again : simple stuff, nothing crazy here, location could not be clean or employees not friendly : I may give this place a chance to improve at least one more time : I will not be returning here

By far and by a landslide, sushi cafe is our favorite sushi spot in the New Tampa area. We often order take out from here and on this night we wanted a late night snack and stopped in. Also, a plus that Sushi Cafe is open later than most of the mom and pop owned restaurants in the areas (11pm on weekends). Atmosphere: - Typical layout of a sushi spot. There's a partial wall that separates the small front area and the "dining room". This is a nice feature as the restaurant does a lot of take out business partial wall allows for those in the dining room to not be easily distracted. Service: - Above average. The servers are polite, timely and proactive ask if you need anything else (drinks, sauces, etc). Food: - As mentioned earlier, we really enjoy Sushi cafe. On this night we ordered crab rangoon, sweet potato and cream cheese roll, monster roll, the miyazaki roll, and the salmon kastu roll. The meal also came with two small salads (or soups). - Salads are small but I love the ginger dressing! - Crab rangoon is well filled and perfectly fried. - The rolls were all very good. The sweet potato and cream cheese roll has become one of our favorites. We are never disappointed with Sushi Cafe and will continue to eat here time and time again.

I am writing this as someone who has lived in the San Francisco area for the last 20 years, and has just recently moved here. The only other sushi place I tried in Tampa was well-rated, but I was very disappointed. This place was awesome. Not only by comparison, but I'd have gone there if it was back in California, too. When I go to a new sushi place, I like to try several different types of sushi to get a feel for the place, so I ordered the Chirashi. It included maguro tuna, salmon, yellow tail, krab, asparagus, white fish, and white tuna. Everything in the bowl was fresh and tasty. The texture was perfect, the seasoning was light (they weren't trying to cover anything up). My only complaint would be that they didn't serve it with ginger, but that was easy enough to ask for, and really not something I think speaks to the quality of the place. Once I did get the ginger, it was good. I'll definitely be back. read more

The only place I will every get sushi in Tampa! The best roll is the crunch roll and I get a side of fried rice or hibachi noodles with it!! The yum yum sauce is to die for probably the best I've ever had! read more

VERY good! The service was wonderful and accommodating and the sushi was excellent. I got four rolls to get a good taste of as much as possible and took some home with me, because there was no way I could finish all of it. I got the crazy roll, the house roll, rainbow roll, and the diablo roll. The best one was the diablo roll. I highly recommend it. I would go back. read more

So, I am not a fan of Sushi, but my friend dragged me along so I could try the hibachi. I have to say the portion size was great and it was cheaper than similar restaurants in the area. You could easily get full eating half then take the second half home for a meal the next day. The service was quick and nice, and they checked up on us occasionally. The restaurant itself is very clean and has ample parking, but is definitely small. With that said, you are given plenty of room in your seating area, it just means the restaurant can fill up quick during lunch. read more

This place totally exceeded our expectations! All the fish was extremely fresh and full of flavor. We have a new favorite sushi spot in the New Tampa area! We had the yellow tail and jalapeño roll, the pacific fusion roll, and salmon shashimi. If you like spice, definitely try these rolls! We'll be back! read more

This place is small but has a nice punch. It's very well decorated and has a nice, calming feel to it. I ordered the Butterfly roll and the Monster roll and was very impressed. I didn't care for the ginger side salad as much, but the spicy rice soup was delicious. Overall, I would highly recommend this place! read more

I love this place. It's our go to sushi when in Tampa. So many different choices on the menu. My husband and I only really eat the cooked stuff, which many times makes our choices limited. I like that I can go here and eat different rolls, not just the same old stuff. The hibachi meals are great too! read more

They are awesome! Great prices. Best fried rice in town. I am in love with the crab Rangoon at sushi cafe, I always get them when I go. The staff is so helpful and friendly, I haven't had a bad experience yet in over 20 visits. Awesome! We find it amusing we have found most of the best sushi places on our travels within shopping centers! Great service, happy to please with adding/removing on certain rolls, and extremely fresh and flavorful. Some excellent specialty tools. If we lived closer this would be our go-to for sushi. read more

I went to Sushi Cafe on a Saturday night about 8pm, it was busy but we didn't have to wait for a table. We were greeted and sat quickly. We started with edamame and pan fried dumplings. I would suggest both for a starter. I then ordered the Mexican roll and the Black Dragon. I won't lie, I inhaled them! They were so flavorful and fresh. The service was friendly and quick. It is great to know we have a reliable and tasty sushi spot near our new apartment! read more

Ok sushi place, nice staff. I liked the butterfly and also the soft shell crab roll. The appetizers are good too. If stay away from the hibachi, they are cooked in the back and it's just ok. The sushi is priced well but the hibachi is not worth it. Since when did sushi have cream cheese in it? I hate cream cheese and so many of the sushi choices contain cream cheese! However there is plenty to choose from and there great. Again, good value and service. read more

I don't have much to say about this place, honestly. Staff was nice, restaurant was small, quiet, and clean, and the sushi was good. It was fresh and tasty, but I'm admittedly pretty picky when it comes to sushi and I've had better at Sushi Haru and Takara, which is right up the road. I wish them success, but Takara still gets my sushi business in the Tampa Palms area! read more

I've heard good stuff about this place so I figured I'd give it a try. I ordered the caterpillar roll to go. It was yummy. I don't know how crazy I was about the seaweed on top, so that's why I'm giving 4 stars. There was too much on there considering its a small roll. It's hard to find sushi places who use high quality ingredients and I must say that the sushi here did taste fresh so kudos for that. Overall I would visit them again. read more

My wife is Japanese, we are both sushi snobs and huge fans of authentic Japanese food. So, we were looking for that and this place is listed as a Japanese restaurant, but its not. The chirashi came with plain white rice, the green tea had no taste, food came on plastic plates, etc. But the sushi was ok, if you're good with a few rolls and maybe some hibachi, it's ok for that. The service is good and fast, proportions are large, good for families...but it's not authetic Japanese by any means. read more

I LOVE sushi cafe! You get great sushi for the price, I can almost always get seated immediately when I show up with no reservation on busy nights and they're great for to-go/pick up orders as well. They have a nice variety of sushi options, good appetizers, sides, hibachi options, etc. Every time my family comes into town & we're craving sushi, I take them there. I enjoy trying new places too, but I always find myself comparing to my favorite rolls here (butterfly roll, monster roll). The only "issue" I suppose I ever encountered here was getting home with a pick up order & realizing I was given one wrong roll - but it was still good. read more

Probably some of the best sushi I've ever had in Tampa. Very similar to sushi I had while in Hawaii. The place can be a little pricey depending on what you order but it's definitely worth it! Also you get a lot for the price when you order the rolls that have toppings like the volcano roll. So delicious!! read more

I can usually finish two sushi rolls easily but these rolls were so big I happily ended up with leftovers. The Oysi Roll was filled with cream cheese, shrimp, and cucumber and topped with salmon. The Spicy salmon roll had cream cheese and cucumber inside and was finished with large, generous heaps of spicy salmon. The portion of cream cheese felt balanced in the Oysi Roll but was a bit much in the spicy salmon, which also wasn't very spicy. That said, I loved how vibrant and fresh the scallions were on the spicy salmon and the fish in both rolls tasted fresh. There are two small tables outside the food truck, but this is definitely more of a to go spot. I'd recommend ordering ahead by text since there's usually a wait. I'll definitely be back to try more rolls!

Chef Andrew recommended the caviar instead. His recommendation was spot on! The caviar blew my mind I am now converted. I understand now! I highly recommend the experience! We also love Hyde Park and it's just so nice to walk around that area before or after your meal. We started off with cocktails -- I went with the pomelo (nikka coffey gin, aperol, grapefruit, szechuan peppercorn) and she got the shinshun (sparkling sake, yuzu extract, & honey). We both really enjoyed our drinks. For appetizers, we shared the wagyu gyoza and I also got a couple pieces of nigiri -- Hokkaido Hotate (scallop) and the otoro (fatty tuna belly). Yum! We both ordered sushi rolls (maki) for our mains. I got the Ro signature roll which has spicy tuna, avocado, and hamachi. My sis got the classic tempura shrimp roll topped with crispy potato chips which was a nice twist. We definitely got our sushi fix! The end of every meal comes with a complimentary sweet surprise and I'm so glad we saved just enough room for dessert. They make their own ice cream in-house and have fun rotating flavor combinations. I can't remember the exact flavor we had, but it had a passion fruit ganache on top with some crumble topping and it was phenomenal! Some of the best ice cream I've ever had. That alone is worth going back for.

The outdoor space is beautiful and relaxing, while the inside is just as comfortable and inviting. And it's not just a restaurant--it's also a brewery! We had the pleasure of meeting the head brewmaster, Tim, who comes from three generations of brewers. He was classically trained in the Reinheitsgebot tradition and spent about 20 minutes talking with us about the passion, craftsmanship, and attention to detail he puts into creating their beers. It was such a cool experience! And the food... absolutely incredible. Jose ordered the chili--which I swear had an entire zoo in it! We also shared the ribs, and they were phenomenal. This place is soooo close to where I live and yet I just discovered it!! I am late to the party but all the 5star reviews are SPOT ON!!! This place has probably the best sushi ive ever had since moving to tampa palms. it is so fresh and well portioned, too. Walked up forgot my phone a bunch of black youth pulled up and when I walked back up they turned off the open sign and locked the door. I can even begin to describe how mad I was. By the way the kids were just having fun they went in chipotle next door and bought food YOU SHOULD NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER! Still had 45minutes till close. read more
