After Sunday Mass, I had craving for Japanese food. I went to Yelp to look for a take out or carry out Japanese spot. This place is located near Jusgo Supermarket inside the Food Court at 240 Legacy Drive, Unit 308 J, West Plano TX. This food court is at the left (right facing Jusgo) corner facing Legacy Drive. Plenty of mall parking. I ordered Katsu Bento on line through Yelp App for take out. I was amazed of the taste. The Katsu chicken is not greasy, but crunchy and delicious. Sushi Spot is a type of Japanese fast food. They serve fresh ingredients that you could only taste if you know the real Japanese food. I will try to come back for a weekday lunch to see if local Japanese will be here to eat or order lunch. Now I found a hidden gem in Japanese food at Sushi Spot. Fast and fresh sushi! Yes! I love that they have just enough options you will find something for everyone and not an overwhelming selection. However if you have a specific request they are happy to oblige! First off, I got the Gangnam Poke bowl for the hubs with no rice!! Sashimi is fresh and the spice is just right! We also got the unagi bento! Who doesn't love roasted eel over rice. Love the peanut sauce on the salad, 2 fried dumplings, and California roll. For the sashimi lover, there is a sashimi bento!!! With thick cuts of 3 types of sashimi it hit the spot. Every roll has a picture and the rolls are Larger than normal. We went with the rainbow roll for the variety! My LO loves salmon and they were generous to substitute salmon for tuna in their tuna roll. She was such a happy camper! Like I said, they were FAST, we went in and ordered and able to take him in a matter of minutes. Big open space in the food court, plenty of social distancing going on. This place was amazing - the owner was extremely nice and hospitable to us. He recommended that we get the tuna since it was the best that day and he got it from Japan. He also gave us a free tuna sashimi plate as an appetizer and then a free lemon sherbet ice cream afterwards. I will definitely go here again! read more

Very good sushi place in an asian food court. Prices are very good considering how big the rolls are. Knowing how big the rolls are now, I would have only ordered one and not two rolls. I ordered the rainbow roll and the hot night roll, but ended up getting the rainbow roll and crunch roll.I did not realize this until I was half way done with the crunch roll and figured it was too late to say something about it. Not the biggest deal except the crunch roll is cheaper than the hot night roll, but mistakes happen. Would definitely come back as the prices are good and the fish was fresh, just get my order right next time please! read more

Came here due to all the glowing reviews, left very satisfied but not dazzled. Yes this is in the food court of the central legacy plaza. If Im correct, this stall use to be a filipino food joint. My ordered three rolls: Rainbow, Hot Night, and Pink Lady. Our order took about 18 minutes, which is quite some time, but then again, they were busy and its a manual process to make each one. Each roll was quite big in proportion. Dont be fooled and think you will need to order a whole bunch. The sushi was all fresh, the veggies were crisp and fresh, and the sauces were either sweet, spicy, or savory as expected. My biggest complaint would be that all the rolls did end up tasting the same. I know they are using the same base ingredients for everything, but something about this place in particular feels like all three rolls (even the spicy one) all feels like one blurred meal to me. To me, Sushi Sakana is the best in plano, but if you are in the legacy and 75 area, this will be your best bet. Certainly better than any roll you could get next door at Yama. read more

We loved everything about this place! It's authentic and delicious, so so fresh, and the service is so friendly and welcoming. The chef prepared extra katsu for us and brought extra kewpie mayo and sweet chili sauce to our table, and shared a little about the traditional way to enjoy miso soup. We were so full and happy when we left, and if we lived closer this would be a place to go every day or every week. Do not skip it! I wish I'd taken a picture, but we ate it all too fast, haha. There's plenty of space inside and other food kiosks in the same food court, too, so come hungry. And order extra to go for tomorrow, bet you'll wake up craving more. Tip: if you can't find it from the parking lot, it's because it's not labeled as sushi spot on the building. There's a sign on the store front that says FOOD COURT and a sticker on the window with their name & the other businesses inside. Everything is good and fresh. This is my favorite spot for a quick meal. Their tempura bento box is so consistently delicious, as is their katsu bento (yeah, I like fried food). Realistically their bento box is enough for two meals. I haven't ventured much outside these two boxes because they're consistently so good and I don't dine out as often as I would like. Service is also always very good. Highly recommended. read more

This was one of our first sushi spots in TX. We loved the sushi here and it reminded us of good sushi before our move. However, I was unable to give it a full five stars since we have other spots that top this. This place is always removing stuff from their menu because they sold out or don't have enough inventory. It has happened many times and have turned me away from returning. Great service and quick turn around for food delivery. I watched this company grow as they added poke to menu. We've only ever had their sushi. They are located in an Asian food court that we love. However, in that food court, we only really stick to three spots. read more

I had a great meal at Sushi Spot with my family a few days ago after reading it was rated in the top 100 sushi places in the US. According to the owner, who was personable and a pleasure, #16. I have no idea how that process takes place. The sushi was excellent but don't expect fine dining. The restaurant looks like a kiosk in the middle of a dining hall surrounded by other Asian restaurants. I highly recommend Sushi Spot. If fine dining is not your thing, you will not be disappointed read more

Alright, so I'm always skeptical when a place has a 5 star rating (I mean this is Yelp and not Angie's List!) but decided to check it out anyway; and boy was I glad I did! First and foremost, it is inside of a food court and not a stand alone restaurant. The outside is completely unassuming but when you go inside you are hit with a world of delicious scents that instantly make you hungry. They are located right in the middle of it but be sure to check out the other places as they have all sorts of delicious goodness to choose from. I went with a group of friends so we ordered from two different places and did family style dinning. Anyway, back to Sushi Spot. The have their menu displayed right above the main ordering place. They offer a great selection of Bento and poke bowls to choose from. I was there for one thing only though; sushi! I ordered the Hot Night and Jalapeño Bomb. These rolls were HUGE for what you pay for and they were not mostly rice like some places that make huge rolls. They had great ingredients with plenty of flavor and of course all the delicious bits listed on their menu. Both of them had an amazing kick (especially the Jalapeño Bomb with the battered Jalapeños). The guy working the registry was super friendly and if you had any special request, or questions, they made sure to complete it to perfection. One of my friends got the Poke bowl with everything in it and you could see how fresh their fish was. They even mentioned that there is nothing held overnight and all the fish is fresh. This is by far one of my new favorite sushi spots! They have everything I love there on their menu and the prices are great for what you receive in return. Plus being surrounded by all the other restaurants makes it a perfect place to try a little bit of everything! read more

Great spot! Tucked away in a food court that is located at the very end of a strip mall, you might miss it. But, do yourself a favor and stop in. The portions are giant for the price you pay. And they do not sacrifice the quality for the quantity! We ordered the jalapeño bomb roll, hot night roll, and the Katsu bento. They were all delicious! It was way more food than we anticipated for the 2 of us and took home a stuffed "to go" box. The broth soup that comes with the bento box had a surprisingly deep flavor considering it comes to you in a paper cup. Great job Sushi Spot! read more

We found this place on Yelp and ordered take out. It's at the end of a strip mall, within a 'food court' setting. I personally did not go inside to pick up the food but my husband did. He said it was clean and pleasantly unexpected atmosphere. The sushi rolls are large but loosely wrapped which kind of ended up working out in my favor. We ordered a rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll & a 'hot nights roll' (basically a California topped with spicy tuna). The spicy tuna was so HOT that it was unbearable to eat. I tried to scrap off the spicy tuna and eat the rest but gave up and just ate the inside that hadn't been touched by spicy tuna. The rainbow roll was okay. Not much flavor but nice, large pieces of fish topped each roll. My picture shows what's left of the rolls before I gave up and tossed it :( read more

Ever since I visited this place last week, I have not stopped thinking about its delicious sushi. Since today is my brother's birthday and he loves sushi, I told my family that I would get takeout from here for lunch. We ordered the Crunch Roll, Dragon Roll, Crazy Boy, and Takoyaki. I was so hungry and excited to chow down that I forgot to take pictures (I know I know, your phone eats first). But based on how popular it was with the fam, I will have ample opportunity to redeem myself and take some nice pics in the near future. My parents and brother loved the sushi, commenting on the large portions and freshness of the ingredients. I completely agree with their appraisal and cannot wait to come here again. I was really craving some takoyaki from this anime I watch, and theirs did not disappoint! Sushi spot has the freshest sushi! I didn't know you can order nigiri because they're not on the menu. I like nigiri more than rolls but my boyfriend told me you can order nigiri, and toro salmon nigiri was sooo good! This is a fun spot to snag some sushi in a pinch. It's located inside the food court area so it's easy to pass by and not notice but so worth checking out. I recommend any of the poke bowl options. I'm impressed with all three bowls. They are fresh and stuffed full of fresh ingredients. I also ordered a tempura bento and jalapeño roll (not how they spell it). The roll and bento were only worth three stars so that's why I gave them four stars after raving about the poke bowls. Bottom line - I would go back for the raw sushi options before getting any of the cooked stuff again. Go for Poke Bowl options if you're looking for something fresh and delicious! read more

A rare yelp 5-star! Decided to try after being on the Texas top 100 list. Sushi spot is located in a food court - the takeout was super easy. The hot night roll is one of my favorite "loaded" sushi combos ever. Especially for the price of this roll it's high quality. Definitely recommend. The udon was good although it would be nice if they separated the noodles because they get soggy. Overall great hidden gem. read more

I don't think I've ever been to a location like this before. The easiest way to describe it is an Asian only food court. There are at least 6 maybe 9 "different restaurants" all in a very large room. It felt like they all operated together or in a co-op type atmosphere but that's just a guess. Sushi Spot is the only free standing restaurant in the middle of the food court room. I went for lunch around 11:15A and they weren't opened until 11:30A. Not a big deal but Worth mentioning because everything said 11A open. I got a poke bowl with tuna, snapper, mango, edamame, onion, wakame and house sauce over white rice. I tried to add avocado for $1 but they said they didn't have any that were ripe and they wouldn't sell it if it wasn't good quality. They were also out of the ponzu sauce or would have got that. It was pretty good. All of the ingredients were fresh/good quality. The house sauce is a soy based sauce that is a little sweet. read more

We came here for the first time tonight, and we really enjoyed our food. We just got one roll and miso soup and ordered stuff from the other stalls. Our roll was generous and big, way bigger than most sushi places. It was well made and delicious. We even enjoyed the miso soup, very simple but had great flavor. I made it in before the rush, felt bad for the gentleman behind the counter he was the only one working and making bowls and drinks because they literally do it all. They have mochi ice cream, macarons, bubble tea, and poke bowls. I like the fact that to help funnel the rush they have a paper you fill out with all the options/toppings that you just hand to him when done and that's how you place the order for the bowl. So it was quick and easy to do. The fact that a bunch of people (not just students) came in right after my order lets me know it is a popular spot. All that to say I enjoyed my bowl as well. I got the two protein bowl and chose salmon and spicy tuna. With all the toppings and it was delicious. Definitely will go back if in the area.
