Decently priced AYCE sushi lunch. Parking tends to be horrendous in the area so it took a while to find a spot. Came for a late weekday lunch so we were seated quickly. The price for the amount of food we ordered was worth it, but I'm not sure the price alone will keep me coming back. The quality of food, ambiance, and service were just ok. Of everything we tried, the hand rolls were probably the best. If I ever find myself back here, I'd probably just order mostly hand rolls. The sushi rolls are smaller in size, which I appreciate for an AYCE spot (see photo). This allowed us to try different rolls for each round. Though it wasn't terribly busy, the size and acoustics of the restaurant made it so that I could hear almost every table's conversations very clearly without even trying to eavesdrop. It made for an interesting but overstimulating lunch. And the service was overall decent. Orders were taken, and we got checked on from time to time, but the servers' vibes were flat, robotic, and indifferent. So, this place is just okay. Kind of forgettable to be honest.

Came for the AYCE lunch. The specialty sushi rolls were delicious! We paid an extra $10 each to add nigiri, but honestly, I probably would've skipped it. There was too much rice, and a couple of the fish pieces were served super cold. The texture made them seem like they had been frozen or were still stiff. The overall price isn't bad, but the service is really slow. We had to flag down our server a couple of times just to get water and place our orders. The food also took a while to come out. Don't get me wrong, I understand places get busy, but with the 1.5-hour AYCE limit, there's really no way to get everything you want unless you order it all at once. We only ended up placing about four rounds of orders before we decided it wasn't worth waiting anymore. I'd definitely come back for the specialty rolls, but I'd probably skip the nigiri next time.

Sushi Uma is a small sushi spot located in SF. They have paid street parking available (meter), but are also located near a couple of public transportation stops too. I went after typical dinner time, but it doesn't seem to be super busy in general. We got: * Cherry Blossom Roll * Unagi Roll * Sake Roll * Kappa Maki Roll Had no complaints taste-wise (tasted the same as all other sushi spots). Nothing stood out, but I appreciated that the Cherry Blossom Roll wasn't stuffed with fake crab (had raw salmon inside instead). Price-wise, they're about the same as other sushi spots. Their AYCE deal looks pretty good, so I'd come back to try that if I'm ever in the area. The service was average (filled our waters occasionally, but didn't really check in on us that much and the service didn't stand out to me). Overall, this is a safe, mediocre spot for sushi.

Loved this experience! The customer service is amazing. It's like they knew when we were ready to order the next round when we got down to the last pieces. The tuna and salmon were so fresh and delicious. I highly recommend getting different rolls as they come out on one big plate family style. AYCE for less than $30? Yes please! M-F 11am - 4 pm

The servers here are really nice. We came in as a family 4 with a baby and toddler included and got to sit near the window. We came here because we were craving for sushi and found out this was the place that does all you can eat. For $26.99 a person on weekday lunch, it makes it so worth it to eat here. It's hard to find such places nowadays. There aren't a lot of special roll choices but too many options make it overwhelming sometimes anyway. They have a select choice of appetizers as well. We did the miso soup, shrimp tempura, and chicken karage, which all tasted really delicious. All the rolls were good as well, including the lion king roll and California roll. We enjoyed all the food!! Coming back here again next time we crave for ayce sushi! They dont overdo it with the rice!

Had a coupon so ordered 2 dragon rolls and 2 miso soups for dinner, orders came within my anticipated time, so pretty good service to order. I didn't go to the restaurant itself, so I couldn't speak much about the ambiance, but when the food arrived, the sushi was still pretty fresh and the soup was nice and hot. I started with the miso soup and downed it quickly, had that typical miso soup you're used to so no complaints there. I dug into the Red Dragon roll, and it's as I had expected, got your shrimp tempura inside, imitation crab, and spicy tuna on top, didn't have the tobikio but I'd imagine it would likely have fallen off, so no worries there. Chowed down the whole thing and overall it was pretty good, of course, there's other higher-end places that cost more, but for your local sushi spot for your average $$ price, I was satisfied!

It has been a while since I ate here, about a year and a half, but I still feel the need to leave a review. I came here to get a bite in with friends, before a night out celebrating my birthday. Their Chicken Karaage was a great way to begin the evening, and is to this day the best karaage I've had. I stop and think about it sometimes... I ordered the Lion King roll (my go-to). My friend ordered the katsu curry, and my other friend ordered the Rainbow Roll. Everything was delicious. We came before the dinner crowd arrived and got to take our time, which is always nice in the city. Very casual spot to get very good food with lovely service. Would definitely recommend and return for more.

Easy reservations made online (max 6 pp) through grubhub. Called to increase headcount and lady told me that it's automatic 20% surcharge for group. Seated right away but no explanation of how AYCE worked so had to review on menu and ask questions. Basically it's AYCE but nigiri is an additional $10 so total of $39.99pp on weekends. Kids 5 under are free. The nigiri, tempura and fresh rolls were good but the fried rolls had too little fish and too much rice. The hand rolls were the best IMO even tho there were only three selections. Service was strange. Friendly but didn't clear off your dishes to make room for the next orders. I had to put the dishes on the next empty table to me. Overall: fun spot with a small group (restaurant is not too big) since we were able to watch soccer game and good deal when you're hungry for sushi. Or want a less expensive sushi meal.

Ayce is only available during lunch time from 11am - 4pm. It's $26.99 on weekdays and $29.99 on weekends, which is honestly a great price for ayce sushi. We dined on Sunday and upgraded to the nigiri option (+$10), so it came out to $39.99 per person. There was no wait for a table on Sunday, we were seated right away. I have to be honest, the food was great, but it didn't justify the wait. There's a 90-minute dining limit, yet we had to wait 45 minutes for our first dish to arrive (unfortunately I kept checking the time cuz I was starving). That said, I can't complain about the food itself. The sushi was fresh, tasted great, and everything felt worth the price. The only real issue was the long wait for the food, but we still ended up full, so it worked out in the end. Would I come back? For the price, maybe. But the food wait time is definitely concerning.

How long before they noticed the tea lid on the table

We came here for dinner thinking it would be all you can eat, but we were mistaken. We thought it was AYCE because the "All You Can Eat" sign was still sitting on the sidewalk after 8:00 PM, so it was easy to assume it was being offered during dinner service. IT'S ONLY ALL YOU CAN EAT BETWEEN 11:00 AM & 4:00 PM. That was on us, so we decided to stay and give the restaurant a fair chance anyway. We were seated near the front door and ordered two bento boxes (beef and salmon), a tempura roll, a California roll, and a tekka don. First impressions: * No tempura dipping sauce. * The tempura looked and tasted premade. * The salmon was over-seasoned. * The California roll was mushy. The rest of our group was also unhappy with their dishes. My friend never received wasabi with their sushi, and it took nearly the entire meal before I could get the attention of our server. Later, we ran out of tea. I took the lid off the teapot and placed it on the table to make it obvious we needed a refill. This time, I actually timed how long it took for anyone to notice. OVER 10 MINUTES. By then, we were pretty upset and just ready to leave. To make matters worse, we weren't given any choice in the tip. PARTIES OVER 3 HAVE A MANDATORY 18% TIP. I had actually considered coming back another day for the AYCE lunch since I work in the area, but after this experience, I won't be returning. Consider this a heads up

Aside from the a-bit-slow food preparation (about 20min wait), everything else is great! Unlike other reviews, our sushi had a normal amount of rice, and comparatively high quality ayce sushi! We had 3 pieces left on the table from our first round, but the server still let us order the second round :) It's definitely great for this price!

Came on a Saturday around 2pm. The inside had a good amount of tables, and there weren't too many people. We did the all you can eat sushi. I think the restaurant was understaffed because the service was unfortunately extremely slow. It took a while for them to seat us and to take our order. The sushi itself was not bad. I do think they overload it with rice to make you full. After being done with our rolls, we had to follow up twice about the hand rolls we had ordered the first time. We finally got them and to no surprise it was packed with rice.

This is def a neighborhood sushi joint, delivering very tasty sushi, and the service was great, I would have loved to give it 5 stars, and in a perfect world I'd def give it 4.5, however there were a few issues... The main one, and the one that ultimately made me take a star was the rice. Rice in sushi is the vehicle and when it's a bit meh it has a huge impact, it was too cold and slightly undercooked. Fixing that would have made our experience an easy 5 star meal. The other gripe I have, might be again because of what I expect, but to me the omakase, when you sit at the bar (and we were the only patrons) shouldn't be a formulaic "same same" everyday, there was zero interaction with the chef, just a transaction of money for food... But again, the fish quality is top tier, the "baby o toro" we got was nothing short of amazing, and the portions of fish are very generous. I wish I could have this quality in my neighborhood sushi place!

Finding street parking 1.5 blocks away, I walked in and the hostess seated me at a long table to the right of the entrance. I was a little early which gave me time to study the menu. The dining room was mostly full already. When my party arrived, our host ordered several appetizers to share and asked each diner to decide on their own main meal. We tried three small bites as follows: a. Boneless fried chicken, soy garlic (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=KYa0rZOUsOqjeQpdJelYAA) - Korean style crispy boneless chicken; these were as described with a slightly sweet and sticky glaze. b. Popcorn salmon (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=92ZddPT6Qo2TiIur8YOpZA) - Bite size fried salmon with spicy salmon; I did not recognize that this was salmon until the 3rd bite. c. Bulgogi quesadilla (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=ymymJkLHfLRpJgYcbNFUCw) - Quesadilla with bulgogi and cheese; it makes for an interesting combination, again the sweetness from the meat meshing with the rich and savory cheese. I chose the pork plate (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=tYaxEnKifiKWh7TzfzH1rA), spicy; marinated sliced pork savory sauce cooked with veggies and glass noodle on sizzling plate, served with rice (more meat $7.00, brown rice $2.00 supplement charges). I had this with regular rice and the normal portion which was plenty. The flavor was consistent with K style cooking and, being full from a heavy lunch and the apps, I ended up bringing home half of this home, rice included. It seemed that everyone enjoyed their meals and everyone had boxes to bring food home so the portions are generous. In reading my original review, the food again rates 3.5 stars for me but it was interesting to see how the menu changed to include ramen and soups too. The two gals who tended to our big party (not an easy task) were efficient and cordial as they removed empty plates and bowls and refilled water glasses regularly. The dining room filled up by the time we left with a younger crowd. There is an extensive soju menu so that may be a draw too. With the # of restaurants in the Richmond, doubtful that I would return here other than for parties like this. Also, I lean towards more traditional Korean cuisine.

Had I known it was only a mini-sized portion, I probably would not have waited in line for it. The chashu was okay, but the portion size seemed more like a snack size than a full bowl of ramen. For $5, it felt more like a sample portion. It was almost like eating a mini kids' meal version of ramen. There were only two people handling the promotion. It appeared the chef was preparing the ramen assembly-line style, scooping the soy sauce base into the container and adding hot water before serving. Overall, there wasn't anything particularly special about the promotion other than watching the chef prepare a large number of ramen orders. The $5 price was reasonable, but it felt more like a tasting portion than a full ramen experience.
