Hey sesame
Maneet G.

The Hey Sesame drink is so good! I came here on a whim based solely on the fact that they had a sesame smoothie! I got 80% sweet and it was a beautiful smoothie with nutty sesame flavors! So tasty! The service was fast and efficient; you order off a kiosk. Additionally, the decor is really pretty! Overall, I'll be back for Hey Sesame!

Loved the Strawberry refresher! There were so many chunks of strawberries with ice and it wasn't tart at all. The Greek yogurt was refreshing and the drink was not sweet at all. The ube coffee was more coffee than ube but was also refreshing. I ordered on Fantuan and it was ready when I went. Service is nice! Inside is Greco Roman themed and aesthetic.

Matcha Tornado

MATCHA TORNADO Does it look like Izumi's matcha creme brûlée? Yes. Does it taste like it? No. The matcha tornado tastes like any typical matcha smoothie. Don't be fooled by those tiktoks saying this drink can compete with Izumi's cause it can't. The drink is good, but it's not a drink to go out of your way for. There were 2 tables occupied and no line but it took 10 minutes for my singular drink. The parking in this plaza is always diabolical.

Hey Sesame

I've been enjoying black sesame lately so I had to try their black sesame drink here. One reviewer said they opted for 50% sweetness, but it was still sweet for them so I went a tad lower. HEY SESAME: The black sesame flavor shines as it should! I liked the oat whipped cream on top, but it doesn't add much since the drink is already creamy and dessert-like. It's a blended milk that's has a nutty and smooth mouthfeel. The drink description notes that there's both black sesame and peanuts fyi. Got it at 30% sweetness, but will get 0% next time!

We often go to big mug coffee, but decided to finally try this place out. Came in on a Sunday afternoon. The decor of the place was very nice, and you order on a kiosk. From there, the experience went a bit downhill. It took over 25 minutes for us to get our drinks, the employees were pretty busy, and make the drinks behind a partition, so it was really difficult asking them a simple question like the code for the bathroom. The drinks themselves were all right, but there was nothing particularly unique that would bring us back to this Boba shop again. We got the Ube coffee and Matcha strawberry which are two drinks that we've been able to buy the joy from plenty of other places typically with higher quality. Overall, I'm glad we tried it, but I don't think we'll be visiting there anytime soon.

Tried this place because it was recommended to me by my old coworker and it was a really really cool location. However, the boba felt a little lacking in flavor. We tried different levels of sweetness, and it was just "OK". I would probably try to look at the drinks, more to see which best suits my taste buds-- will probably stop by again if I'm in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way. I like that their menus are very high tech so you can really customize your drink -- and the service was quite fast once the order is sent in. The location is very pretty and very Instagram worthy. I feel like this would be a good place to go on a date or like a cute meet up.

Message on door when I arrived to pick up drinks

I wanted to try this place on Labor Day. I placed an order for pick up through their website. I was charged 16 dollars for two drinks. When I arrived, the store was closed. Seems odd that the store can receive orders when the store is closed. Tried to call the store to leave a message and the call never went through...

Matcha Latte with Oat Milk, 80% Sweetness
Linh N.

Final Thoughts: 2.79/5 Very interesting that this place has 2 names? Ugh...that or Matcha Matsu is inside of T%. Theyr're using T% cups though...so...yea. Can't say adding matcha has helped increase their popularity. They were originally selling just your average milk tea and boba drinks with dessert options being gelato. Portions seem small and quite expensive for those desserts though, but I digress. Guess I'll post this in both places though. Drinks: Xtra Strong Matcha (500cc), 30% Sweetness: 2.0/5 Never seen a boba shop use cc instead of oz, so that's interesting. My friend warned me that I might not like this drink, but I clearly didn't listen and here are my consequences. The flavor of matcha is strong and I really like that. However, it is not a good strong flavor. It has such a grassy and earthy tone to it. Borderline tasting the grass where it meets the dirt. Milk is also never my choice for fluid milk, so the taste is just grassy and the milk. For the sweetness, I like some bitterness and less sweet drinks. It's rare that I say something is not sweet enough, but this drink really needed some sweetness and additional flavors. I also thought this drink was going to be a matcha americano versus a matcha latte with extra matcha. Definitely something that I believe should be specified since there's no label that states this include milk or it was just in the fine texts that I couldn't see at all. Matcha Latte with Oat Milk, 80% Sweetness: 3.2/5 My friends drink that I tried for review purposes. This drink was better, but also still not my favorite matcha beverage. For the flavor of the matcha, maybe it was covered up by the flavor of the boba, so it wasn't as grassy. Sweetness is actually better for this one and surprisingly not as sweet for something that's 80% sweetness. The boba is interesting because there's this chew, bite, and kind of stickiness to it. Hard to describe. The stickiness might be from the boba being overdone, too much syrup/honey, something else, or perhaps a combination of all of it. --------- Quality: Could be better, not my favorite Personally, I'm not familiar with the different types of matcha powders. The color of this drink is nice and vibrant, but flavor is just not to my liking. This doesn't make the quality low though since it could be ceremonial grade matcha powder. Their gelatos do have quite the nice vibrant color too, so seems alright. Price: Average Pricing for this place seems very average. Prices seem to be within a $6 to $8 price range, which is quite average. For both of these drinks today, it came out to be around $15+, so average $7 something for a drink. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Service: Limited interactions There is an ordering kiosk on the right side right as you walk in, so all of the ordering mostly happens there. My friend's boba was actually missing the boba, but they were able to fix that right away. They remade the drink instead of just adding in the boba, which I kind of appreciate. I don't think it would've been a problem if they just added in the boba to the already existing drink, but maybe that changes the sweetness level or they perhaps have quite the nice service here. Ambiance: Sleek white cottagecore aesthetics Small and quaint little boba shop. Some tables are on the side and then there is the counter that takes up most of the space. One note about the tables. Their tables are mostly large tables. I wished that there were smaller tables available or a larger variety of tables present. The table that we sat at could honestly fit another party. I would appreciate this space if I had a larger group though. Again kiosk is on the side. Definitely one of your average boba shops. Seems like a cross between sleek white cottagecore. There are floral decorations and white tables all around. Makes the space feel very bright inside. Location/Parking: Not the best plaza for parking It's located in the same plaza where Sulbing it. There are a lot of other shops and restaurants around here, so lots of options to choose from. Also you can take a walk around here just to digest perhaps. The parking here is not the best. Parking spaces are alright, but perhaps it's the drivers that are getting to me. We've been here multiple times and I truly don't want my car parked in this plaza. I haven't parked my car in the parking lot that the shop is facing, but we usually park in the spaces on the side. The spots aren't big, but their not too small. Bigger than a compact I guess, but people still manage to not park in the lanes. Some of the spots are kinda strangely placed too, so your car might be crooked, but it's really parked straight in the space.

(Left) Ceylon Black Milk Tea 素颜锡兰 with mochi + (Right) Peach Rice Mochi Yogurt (Seasonal)
Kimberly H.

I've been to all the other T% locations and this was my first time to this location. I do think the interior here is the prettiest! I got a Ceylon Black Milktea with Mochi (80% sweet) and my friend got the Peach Rice Mochi Yogurt. The Peach Rice Mochi Yogurt is a seasonal, refreshing drink that reminds me of Yumie's Rice Yogurt! I would definitely recommend that one. The Ceylon milktea felt more like 50% sweetness to me (or at least, comparatively to other boba shops) and the tea flavor was leaning stronger than expected. I think I'd recommend full sweetness if you prefer some sweetness, maybe they're on the less sweet side for drinks here.

Lyna T.

First time here and it was pretty good. Ordered online for pick up, and it was quick and convenient. The drinks were placed in a pink paper bag, but there was no cup holder. Ordered tiger brown sugar latte and creme brulee latte with 50% sweetness. They both came with fresh milk, boba and it was caffeine free. The boba were soft, fresh and tasty. Also ordered coffee ube with 50% sweetness, and it was good but it was still sweet even though it was 50% sweetness. The boba shop is located in the same plaza with dollar tree and seorai kbbq. It was bright inside with cute aesthetic decor and several seatings. Drinks were about $6.45+ and they came in tall cups. I would come back to try their other drinks like the milk tea, yogurt and mochi ones.

white peach yogurt with mochi
Jocelyn S.

This review is for the white peach yogurt mochi. It's literally just like Danimals, I don't know what I was expecting hahaha. Maybe I would've liked it more if it were a Yakult vibe. Wouldn't get it again. 50% sweet was just right however. The drinkable mochi was fun but I think I prefer more chew in my dessert drinks, the coconut jelly probably would've been good. Though I've had their milk tea and grape drink either tea jelly before which were super good! I like that there's a decent amount of seating. Service was quick, and you order from a kiosk screen.

Mary N.

We often stop by here when we grab dinner in the area. There's a few kiosks to order from and there's a good number of seating. The deco is also very aesthetic and great for photos. The drink here is not bad, but I do wish the tea was stronger. Could be just my preference!

Thai tea and jasmine milk tea
Kim T.

My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday late afternoon. Lucky for us, there was no line! We ordered the thai tea and jasmine milk tea. Both were really good and just the right amount of sweetness. I appreciated that the jasmine milk tea wasn't overly sweet and you could still taste the tea. The boba texture was also perfectly chewy.

There is a kiosk for ordering, as well as paper menus on display for you to look at, topped off with what appears to be a photobooth on the side that you can take pictures inside of for fun. I decided to get the Lavendula Latte, which the barista delivered to my table. I had forgotten to adjust the sweetness (though thinking now I can't remember if there was an option for that) but the drink had a nice balance of sweetness. Only complaint I have is that the menus lacks photos (not sure if it's lag or if there genuinely are no photos), but I'd say that the drink looks okay. You also have to use McDonalds wifi if you want to do work here, but the wifi's free and seems to be working fine so I'm not sure if that's really a negative. Overall, a nice place to work at with friendly service. I might consider coming back here again if I happen to end up in the area.

I was surprised to see Big Mug as I didn't know they had other locations besides the one in the plaza near El Camino Real. There was plenty of seating available. The service was quick and friendly, and the environment was cozy for the rainy day. The space is clean. There are cute items sold in the front near the cash register from local vendors. We got two tiramisu lattes. I liked how they weren't that sweet. It felt like a nice treat that didn't weigh me down. It was a good coffee run to have before eating brunch. I liked how the menu is extensive and there is something for just about anybody. We saw a photo booth inside, but didn't use it. Overall, I think this location is tranquil compared to the other Big Mug, and their offerings are hard to beat in terms of variety. I recommend going here for your caffeine fix!

The only critique I have is the music being way too loud at times. It's NOT what type of music is playing, but purely the volume. When it's loud, people talk louder and it can occasionally be a little too loud to focus without headphones. Otherwise, I think I've found my new fav local coffee shop!

It wasn't crazy busy so it was easy to order through one of their two tablets and find a spot to sit. It is very spacious and filled with many tables, so even when busy you'll likely be able to find a spot. The menu is a bit messy to look at--there is a big menu hanging over the kiosks, another posted alongside where a line is formed, then the menu on the tablet kiosks themselves. It's a pretty big menu featuring primarily coffee-based drinks, matcha lattes, and a wide variety of food, so you'll likely find something appealing. I ordered their smoked salmon bagel (which rang up to about $16) and their matcha latte ($8); to be honest, neither were outstanding. The salmon and avocado in the bagel were great, but the bagel itself was a bit stale--for $16, it's a bit hard to swallow. The matcha was very milky, and there is another store offering better matcha drinks in the same plaza. I'll admit, though, it's a little on me for not picking coffee at a spot with "coffee" in the name. I will say, though, that the atmosphere in the main area is pretty good; the decor is understated but comfortable, and the lighting is good. The service is also solid--the servers are friendly and our order came out quickly. I will say that the bathroom feels ominous. Overall, it's a great spot to study; Big Mug is open late, has free Wi-Fi and a bathroom for customers, and offers both food and caffeinated drinks for longer study sessions. I feel that the prices vary widely for items but skew towards being too pricy for the quality, at least from my limited experience. I plan on coming back to give other items a try, but for now, it's not a favorite.

We got a leek quiche, a banana latte, spinach, artichoke danish, mango croissant, almond croissant, and a ham and cheese croissant. I was trying to increase the protein to not spike my blood sugar. Lol. I'd have to say the mango and the almond croissant were probably my favorite. The strong second would definitely be the artichoke and spinach croissant danish thing. Sorry, I forgot what they called it. They offered to heat it up a bit and I definitely recommend this. They did the perfect temperature for the perfect timing. Just enough to make the outside flaky and the inside warm and soft. The pieces that had cheeses were so much better warmed up. They definitely know what they're doing there. Seating was great. I'd love the decor. You can also order off of a menu, but we were too enamored with the actual pastries to even glance at it. I took photos but made sure to not take photos of the staff. They use a syrup that was not mixed it, it was settled about half a centimeter at the bottom. Matcha quality was decent but for $8, there are much better quality options in the South Bay for the same high price. I also ordered the house margherita pizza, more emphasis on the house rather than the margherita since it was very much their own rendition with arugula, diced tomatoes, and would looked to be shredded cheese.
