Now keeping it real and having lived in the Mission for almost 3 years you normally wouldn't catch me in the marina but one of my college buddies just moved here and not knowing the city like I do moved to the Marina. No doubt he'll get with it and move to an authentic sweet pad on Natoma. So I went over to his hood and of course this being SF we had to eat some real Mexican food cause what's more San Francisco and Mexican than a burrito, am I right? And this place is so good and such real authentic Mexican 1.they only take cash, how old school is that? 2. they have all the real traditional Mexican food you expect like burritos and Quesadilla but they put a rad twist on it that shows just what having a real chef making Mexican food can do instead of someone who didn't even go to culinary school! 3. My college bro totally loved the California burrito Cheese, french fries & pico de gallo salsa with carne asada once I explained what pico de gallo meant. Spanish words in mexican place kind of threw him off. 4.You can tell this the real deal cause they didn't even have some the dishes on the menu preferring to keep it what was fresh and available and only what they wanted to make and the owner is a cool enough dude that he doesn't care if the customers don't like it. 5.yeah it cost more than the mission burrito places who for some reason don't seem to care that us locals only eat organic and humane healthy meat. Don't they care about our health and our community? 6. for once it's a Mexican place where someone though about the restaurant design and it's a nice vibe to it without any of that plastic ethnic stuff that's so unauthentic in the mission burrito places. It's like those places didn't even consult with a designer. I know there would be a huge demand for this food from all the Mission folks I know so hopefully a branch in the Mission will happen soon. Very dissatisfied with this one. Based on how much I love Nick's Crispy Tacos (once owned by the owner of Tacko) and Tortilla Heights (somehow related to Nick's) I went here expecting the best. I was sadly disappointed. Tacko is so up its own butt that theyve forgotten to deal to the customer. I went in there planning to get one of the delicious Nick's quesadillas with which I have become accustomed. At Tortilla Heights and Nick's they are greasy and cheesy and can be filled with anything you want. I asked for one with a lot of hot sauce, some beans, some guac, & carnitas. The guy (who seemed like a SoCal douche to me) told me he could not give me any beans because it would not work in the quesadilla. As an avid visitor of tacquerias, I know this to be very untrue, but fine... A little upset because Nick's and TH are not known for their burritos (if I were not able to get a Tortilla Height's quesadilla, taco, etc. and was left only with the burrito option, I would head to Ocean Tacqueria down the block instead). I then asked for a super carne asada burrito. He told me there are several types of burritos on the menu. "Ok," I said. "I just want a carne asada burrito with refried bean, pico de gallo, rice, cheese, guac, no sour cream, and a lot of hot extra spicy hot sauce." He tells me again about the the several burritos on the menu above our heads. I look up, read the menu (clearly already fed up by this point) just to realize that what I had just ordered is basically a "San Francisco Burrito" give or take an item. TELL ME: Why couldn't he just go, OK. One San Francisco Burrito add _______. He was such a douche and it makes the place, a tacqueria, the one restaurant that's supposed to be laid back, seem up tight and snobby as hell. So yesterday after riding into town the night before we stripped down the gear off the bikes and run some errands. One of our stops was the local trek bike store and over there they told us about this restaurant. So we took a ride around the corner and took a seat. The inside was very nice and the menu had some great options. So we had the 3 traditional tacos , one chicken ,asada and pork these were delicious. I felt like I was in Mexico getting it right from a food truck. We also had the California burrito which was absolutely delicious, we tried the nicks way taco which you have to try. Always been a big fan of Nick's Crispy, and Underdogs was junior high graduation, but for, who I can only imagine is "Nick," Tacko is high school graduation. The tacos are just as good (better) as the previous projects, but with maturity. How do I mean? I'm no critic, nor am I good with the subtle differences between tacos, especially when the concept originated from the same party. Tumbuk2 to Chrome to Mission Workshop I can do, Mexican, not so much. You're just going to have to try it out for yourself. Downside? None. Upside? I would love to be able to go here and enjoy a taco, but the owner is so incredibly rude, I refuse to go back. His attitude is that he doesn't care. Directly from him when asked nicely if I could have something on the side "No! and If you don't like it, go open your own Tacqueria!" Really??? We went into Tacko tonight eager to try their lobster roll. I usually do not write reviews but this had to be the worst lobster roll I have ever eaten. The lobster meat was not fresh or cooked properly. The roll was soaked in butter and fell apart as I tried to eat it. I gave up and left more than half the lobster roll on my plate. I hope they do a better job on the rest of their menu, I know I will not be back. read more

Some of the best authentic Mexican food in . On top of their beef steak being amazing and non-greasy, they serve their burritos with WHOLE GRAIN TORTILLAS. Meal didn't feel heavy, but it was definitely filling. Agues Fresca's are served with pebbled ice, and the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and almost always empty (or at least on weekdays). Great taste and a lovely theme though I am confused as to why they are decorated in East Coast Nantucket beach wear. The only East coast menu item is one lobster roll.
