I came to complain about the price hike. I get prices went up everywhere but it's ridiculous. We ordered 4 carne asada street tacos, mind you they are street tacos so they are small, anyways we ordered them for pick up and I was shocked to pay 26.10 for 4 street tacos! That's a ridiculous price gouge. On top of that when we got home the tacos looked like someone just threw it in the box (picture attached). Fuego Cravings right down the street has their tacos for 2.75. We also ordered 1 chili verde plate and a 2 carne asada taco plate to go no drinks nothing extra that was almost $50! So many new Mexican places have opened here, there's no need to be taken advantage of. This economy ppl are struggling. read more

Hi there! Taco Hut is an interesting place. It is kind of want a be sports bar with decent Mexican food. The interior is dated and crowded and the music is WAY too loud! There is a decent sized patio out front. Inside there are a multitude of tv's. I have been here many times. Like this time, I usually get the three chili rellenos plate. All beans and no rice. I am a huge chili rellano guy and the ones here are quite good! The problem I often have, including this time, is about 50% of the time I only get two chili rellanos and not three. I fail to understand why and not once has a waitress offered an acceptable answer! The service here is friendly and they never let my drink get empty. I'm pleased with that! Recently visited this location and witnessed what appeared to be the owner or manager I believe her name was Jess - require an employee to turn in their personal phone while working. Out of concern, I asked the employee about it and was told it was part of the job requirements. As a federal corporate employee myself, I found the interaction extremely concerning and unprofessional. It came across as if management cared more about controlling the image of the restaurant than showing respect and trust toward their employees. The situation immediately made me uncomfortable enough to get up and leave. Based on this experience alone, I personally would not recommend this restaurant to others. Whoever owns and or manages this restaurant one hundred percent will be reviewed and or reported personally. Think twice before you support such small unknown want to be restaurants like this. First of all, they mislabeled every burrito so there was a ton of confusion. Second, the lettuce in one burrito tasted super stale and the al pastor was burnt and also tasted like it was reheated. First off, I want to say that the service we received was beyond great. The staff was so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They were always making sure we had everything we needed. I can't even remember the last time I had exceptional service like this. Now, let's move on to the food and drinks. Our waiter recommended the pomegranate margarita with chili rim, and I'm glad that he did. I'm not a fan of mixed drinks, but this one was great. This is hands down one of the best experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. Living in Rancho, there are a dozen Mexican restaurants every five blocks. Yet somehow Taco Hut brought a level of service that even fine dining should take notes on. 1st things 1st; Eddie was the reason I am leaving this review. Our daughter loves chips and salsa but found the mild salsa that came as our "app" was spicy and was very upset. Eddie went above and beyond and had the kitchen whip up some fresh pico de gallo for her that was so delicious. This was not expected and yet he did it for her. She was delighted and almost ate a whole basket of chips because of it. He checked in on us regularly and not once did we have to ask for refills (which for us is a standard for restaurants). The whole staff was just kind and friendly. As if you were eating at your family's house. Everyone said hi and smiled and just laughed throughout the night even though it was a busy taco Tuesday. You could tell the staff truly care about their customers. Alright. Don't think I forgot about the food. We ordered the fajita trio, a kids enchilada plate, and a Chile rellano w a taco. Although I forgot to take a picture, please know when I say this food was amazing. I usually order fajitas at restaurants and it's hard to find ones that have flavor and also stay warm more than 10 minutes. My food was so good I could've just eaten those onions and peppers alone! Huge portico shrimp, steak not overdone, chicken that wasn't dry as the air. My wife loves Chile rellano and found it to be seasoned perfectly. She hardly ever finishes a full meal but she did not want to waste any of it! Even my daughter who is generally not a big eater said she just had to get it "IN HER BELLY!" How in the world can you honestly charge $38 for a Molcajete that says it serves 2-3 people, and you provide ONE plate of rice and beans, a few tortillas, a minimal amount of meat and TWO SHRIMP! Seriously! I had to ask the server if this was accurate, who in turn went to someone else to come tell me YES. This is crazy! DO NOT GET THIS MEAL! They have these QR code menu stickers on the table that are meant to be more touch free.
