Super happy! I Love Mexican food and was in the mood for something authentic and hopefully local. Tacos El Rey is a pretty awesome spot for some local flavor with nice ambience, relatively quick service, and some tasty food! I got the flautas combo in beef. Rice, beans, and tortillas come on the side- but I think they may have given me an extra taquito to sub for the tortillas? Thanks! That was nice. Usually comes with 3 and I got 4. Rice and beans were flavorful too. Nice spice in both without being overwhelming. Nice little fillers. I do wish there was a little more body in the rice or a higher quantity, but other than that- pretty tasty. Beans and the cojita cheese were fire. That cheese is such a nice lift and cleanser with the food. The taquitos had some really tasty avocado on top- better than most avocados I've ad recently. Super flavorful and full. Nice portions too. The beef was a bit on the dry side which was my only major gripe- that and the rice lacking a bit more full body. I found myself needing to wash down the beef with some water or add some beans to help with the moisture of it all. Lettuce was fresh and the red salsa was off the chart! Great spice level and really accents some of the flavors. If you're looking for something super spicy this won't hit you in the face. Green sauce was a bit watery and lacking a bit in flavor-but overall- lovely nice little experience! I'd bring some friends here for lunch or dinner anytime. I may add a bit of salt or something for some kicking it in to high gear in regards to the green sauce. A lovely experience! Overall an 8.5/10. Tacos el rey is a great little spot! It a hidden gem and I am a bit hesitant to write this review as I do not want to have to stand in line when people start flocking to it. I was in the city looking for a place to eat glad we found this place. We ordered the tacos dorados and the Caldo the res it was so delicious! Caldo had lots of crispy vegetables not like other places where the vegetables are overcooked . The tacos were on point you can taste the chicken well seasoned. Ok, had to upgrade Tacos El Rey to 5 Stars. I saw some of my staff with a whole mess of potato tacos (which I love) so I had to order some for myself. The Potato tacos here are phenomenal and have to be some of the best I've ever tasted. I still love their chicken soft tacos but I think the potato tacos might be superior. This is a very small place so parking is a challenge but I would circle the lot 10 times to eat here. Second time i've been here. The food is a solid 3-3.5 but they have attentive and friendly staff so they get a 4! Ordered beef Dorados Tacos and carne asada burrito and came out to a little over $21 with tax. The Dorados tacos either come with rice/beans and 3 tacos or 4 tacos only. You cannot mix and match the meat(or potatoes) for the $10 special price otherwise it's $2.99 each. They were good and i liked the slice of avocado on top but otherwise nothing out of the ordinary. The carne asada was also good but again just average and comparable to Burger Cafe (cheaper and bigger portions). Would I go back here again? Yes but doubt i'd frequent. read more

The 1st time I had 2 tacos de carne asada. They were great I should have order 4 because they were so good, short on time. The 2nd time I had a carne asada burrito. I don't like rice other than mine so it had no rice. It was really good I was fully satisfied. The meat had no fat and had good favored. Great service with a greating and a smile. Hands downs - THE best Mexican restaurant in the area! What a gem that I've come across here. My work is only a few blocks away and I make sure to come by at least 2x a week. Monica & the team are very friendly and helpful if you are not sure what to try on the menu. The cheese enchiladas plate are mouth-watering and tasty to the last bite... and always on point! The shredded beef & carnitas tacos are also amazing and topped with delicious avocado... ingredients are always fresh as well. The restaurant is always very clean and the atmosphere is welcoming and festive. I've only tried two of the tortas here. The last torta was a milanesa and I enjoyed both. I didnt give a 5 star because I craved Lengua both times and they were out. Lengua is an option on the menu so was disappointed that they were out. Ill reevaluate my review if I can try the Lengua option. But overall, I recommend Tacos El Rey and will return. read more

Came here because of the reviews. I ordered a carnitas wet burrito and my husband ordered an Al pastor wet burrito. We're still fairly new to the area and all Mexican food we've tried has always been a miss. First bite we take and we look at each other like finally we found a decent place.
