Let me say that I'm not Korean so my knowledge of Korean food is slim to none. I am, however... a connoisseur of soup. I love soup in all its shapes and forms. Despite the modern name of "Tang", this shop feels comfortable and homey. Like those modern coffee shops that still have a sense of warmth. My dad who's more picky likes this place enough for us to have come here three times in the past week. I LOVE their galbi tang, it's rich and flavorful. My dogs also love when I bring home the bones, so it's a win win. My dad enjoyed the spicy beef soup with vegetables and said it wasn't too spicy which is why he could enjoy it. Service is quick and nice. The skinny lady with glasses recognized my dad and I which was sweet. This place is also perfect if you're feeling sick (order takeout), the soup is soothing. This review is for their spicy soondae soup (mixed) with rice! The mixed version comes with a lot of other pieces of pork rather than just the soondae itself and is super yummy. Their soup is REALLY good! However, our friend ordered the non-spicy version (for the kids) and the soup was bland - almost like ordering suhlungtang which you need to add salt/pepper to. The spicy version needed no extra seasoning! The green stuff it comes with is to add into the soondae soup while it's hot! Kimchi and kkakdugi (spicy pickled radish) are the banchan (sidedishes). I also ordered one to go and it was packaged very well with no spillage! Environmental friendliness is questionable, but effectiveness for takeout Korean soup and banchan was amazing. read more

Recently went with my mom on a Tuesday afternoon. The store was pretty empty, but clean. Our server was super fast and sweet. We got the 돼지국밥 and it was honestly pretty friggin good. I'd say it was even better than Jinsol. There was plenty of meat and all the side dishes were good. The rice did seem a little bit old, but I can look past that. Good old fashioned pig blood sausage and pig parts such as stomach, liver, congealed pig's blood as well as thick cuts of Korean bacons (SamGyupSal). Their specialty is soup with blood sausage and liver and pork meats with various levels of spices! I like mine very spicy. It comes with small steamed rice and two different kinds of kimchi, one with square cubes of turnip marinated in hot pepper powder kimchi and Napa cabbage kimchi and the third fresh green onions cut thin slices mixed in sauce with red pepper powder. The blood sausage taste was average not outstanding. The Potatoes Soup had lots of pork meat on five large bones but scanty potatoes. I was surprised at the amount of pork meat but very little amount of potatoes in the potato soup. I really liked the Ox Tail soup. It's a milky white broth with thinly sliced roast beef mixed with chopped green onions and sea salt. It's one of the most popular hangover cure food. Their food taste and fast service rank them higher with good value for the money. Try them out. You probably will like it. read more

This is the most mediocre Korean restaurant i've ever had. We got the soup with blood sausage and the ice bean noodle, they both taste like a bowl of water. There is literally no taste in any of the dishes. When I say that it taste like water, i'm not exaggerating, it's literally a bowl of water with some pieces of blood sausage in it. I ordered Yukgae jang and hot pot bulgogi for the first time here, and it was nothing like what I expected. Yukgae jang flavor was completely off--bland and unappetizing--and worst of all, it had an unpleasant smell, like they used old beef that was on the verge of going bad. I wished they had cheese , but nonethless, it was still good without it. The beef was super tender, and the stew was definitely flavorful. The seafood pancake was pretty big. It wasn't as chewy as I'm used to at other spots, but still packed with lots of seafood. The honeycomb tripe was also very flavorful, and cooked nicely. Our service was great from start to finish. There are plenty of seating for parties of 4-8. The spot is not super small, but not super big either. Tang means soup. This place make sense once you taste their soup! There are variety of soups but my favorite is the special pork belly soup. This means pork belly is sliced thinner and it is so tender and they have a bunch in it! The soup itself is so tasty, you really don't need to put any more salt but I personally think once you add rice in it, it will need a bit more salt to make it just perfect for me! The Kimchi here is like something you never tasted! They actually sell the kkak ttoo ki (Cubed Radish Kimchi) only and not the Kimchi no more... boo hoo... haha The servers are amazingly friendly and nice!
