You know the food will be good when the kimchi is really good! The soondae guk had such a deep flavor that was delicious. The sul lang tang paired great with their kimchi and the flank meat was so tender. I loved the cutlet because it was so light and crisp, and the sauce paired with it was perfect. This place is in a not so common location, but I would highly recommend if you want a variety of soups! Place was super clean and the staff was very attentive and nice. This piping hot bowl of soup is perfect for the chillier weather these days. It comes with kakdugi and baechu geotjeori. No frills, no nonsense, one bowl of complete goodness. Normally in other places this soup is more soy bean paste based so the color is brown. But this place was more chili pepper based so it was red. As soon as I tasted the soup I knew I chose the wrong restaurant. It was bland and not much flavor. Usually Korean Tangs have DEEP flavored broths but that was missing. Dined at Tang on Valentine's Day and it was surprisingly slow. Our food was super yummy, we had the small Bossom plate (steamed pork belly) and dumpling soup. The banchan was refreshing and delicious. My husband and I hadn't tried soondae yet and the waitress was generous enough to bring us a plate to try and let me tell you it was flavorful. Across the street from Hanyang and Kaju, just as good in my opinion. The interior is very clean and well lit, which is a plus. I got the normal soondae guk, which was really good. Some other sundae guk places that I have tried in OC are very strong and heavy, but this one was clean tasting with deep flavor. Would come back again, I think I'll try the dwaeji gukbap next time since that is also one of their specialties. For people who are saying the sundae guk is bland, you are meant to season it yourself; put in all the buchu they give you, and use the saeujeot and deulkkae too, not just salt and pepper. read more

As we were the only ones there, the service was great. The soup was delicious but make sure you bring a tooth pick as it does get into your teeth. It was tender and goes really well on a cold or hot day. I was happy to see the server wearing her face mask. I call to see if theres a wait and they tell me 30 minutes. Didnt feel like waiting so I look on Yelp on boom heres Tang literally across the street where the Octave NRB plaza is. Ordered Galbitang wifey had the Dwaeji Gukbap (pork belly soup). Both dishes were fire. The meat was plentiful and broth was rich. Wifey was super excited because not too many Korean restaurants here serve Dwaeji Gukbap and this place nails it. Definitely some comfort food forsure. Visited this place during the weekend and there was literally nobody in the restaurant. I was expecting full attention from the server there, Well, the service was really bad that the lady treated us like she is owning us or something. This place actually inherited from the well known Korean Soon-Dae place located in Fullerton, called MooBongRi Restaurant. But they don't have their famous Vegetable SoonDae anymore. Tried their Jok-Bal (marinated pork feet), it was just meh. not so flavorful and very mild taste which should've been marinated with such as Soy sauce. So we actually didn't even finish 10 percent of the Jok Bal. I wouldn't really recommend this place if you are expecting a good service. and don't order Jok Bal. Their soup broth is same as before and the price is the same which is on the higher side. It seems like Fullerton-Buena park Korean restaurants are booming in the area but the price keeps going up and up. You should expect to pay near 20 bucks per person for a meal now. read more

Some of the best Korean restaurants I've been to are in San Antonio, TX and surprisingly it's been a bit of a mission finding places that can do my fave dishes justice out here in LA without doing to much or being too bland. However, one dish (my favorite Korean dish like EVER) I had yet to really find anywhere out here was the spicy pork bone and potato soup. I found it at one restaurant in Gardena but i basically gave up trying to find it elsewhere until I just so happened to be in the Buena Park area and noticed Tang with their grand opening sign. It's an absolute must that i try every Korean restaurant that catches my eye and so I pulled over, looked at their menu online, read spicy pork bone soup and without hesitation turned around and drove straight there and let me tell you i was NOT disappointed! The portion size was really good for the price point for LA. They definitely did not skimp on the meat like many other places do. Limited banchan but i was given more kimchi which made me happy lol. Also, their kimchi is realllllly really good! All in all, I'd say this place is pretty great and the only thing that's disappointing is that I absolutely must come back and try more dishes but a part of me is going to want to just order this dish again and again and I might not ever get to try other items lol. read more

As a korean, it's really hard to find places that'll do our native dishes much justice. Most places will either do too much or too little but Tang has always hit the spot! I would go to the one in Fullerton with my family before the pandemic (that place used to always be popping for all the right reasons) and it's nice to see that they're further expanding their business. I went here recently for a pick up order and their service was great. You can tell they're really trying their best. Their prices are more reasonable than most places out there. I have dined here a few times now with my husband, and the restaurant is super clean with Covid-19 measures set well! Each booth had dividers allowing for a more personal dining experience, and outdoor dining was also set up with tables at least 6-feet apart. We opted to eat indoors as my husband and I were both craving soup (the weather was way too hot to enjoy it outside) and the restaurant was relatively empty when we went! Our most recent order was: Pork Belly Soup: 4/5 The broth was concentrated and the pork meat was very tender. It wasn't the best we've had but still a great rendition of it! Spicy Beef & Vegetable Soup: 2/5 There was a generous portion of meat in it, but overall the flavor was extremely bland. This is my go-to soup at most restaurants- if they have it on the menu, I'll order it! :-P That's to say- I have tried many different versions of it at numerous restaurants, but this one would have to be my least favorite. A smalllll disappointment was the lack of side dishes provided at this restaurant. My mom once mentioned that one might be able to judge the restaurant by the quality of their side dishes and the thought that the owner puts into them. The side dishes were here were unfortunately nothing special compared to competitors, as they only consisted of two types of kimchi. However, we were pleased that the food tasted very clean (without chemical additives~) to our palette.
