I liked the Thai purple rice (high fiber, reminiscent of brown rice) topped with spicy curry sauce and all the veggie sides. The shredded mango salsa and the cucumber slaw contained just the right amount of fish sauce (Vegan sides are available as well.) For protein, I chose the braised tofu. I'm glad it wasn't fried. There are decent protein choices, and I'm a huge fan of every single vegetable. Your mileage may vary on how much food you get... sometimes it's piled so high I can't close the lid, other times it leaves room up top. My favorite protein is the braised beef, and least favorite were the meatballs (dry). I wish they had more beverage options... maybe some diet or no sugar added drinks would be nice? Fresh and quick quality bowls for when you're on the run or want a casual lunch. The chicken was grilled and cooked perfectly, and I normally don't go for chicken. Man this place is good! I had an appointment close by and just wanted something to eat to pass the time for traffic to hopefully die down (who am i kidding though, right?! lol). Came across this gem on Yelp and since I am trying my best to eat better to lose this covid weight i figured I'd give it a try. This is the first time i really felt like my tummy was going to explode from eating veggies and tofu lol. The bowl is hugeeeee and the amount in said bowl was definitely more than i could handle but i did my best to finish it (and am suffering for it now lol). The options are great. The price point is great for the amount you get. The only thing i wished was that there was a bit more flavor on top. I added the tamarind vinaigrette (forgot if it's step 2 or 3) but everything on top was missing that flavor :( and the plastic fork they give you is sooo flimsy that you can barely even mix it up to mix in some of that flavor. I came here once about a year ago and really enjoyed it so I decided to stop by to pick up some food since I was nearby. Do you ever walk into a restaurant and feel dirty? That's how I instantly felt when I opened the door. There was one worker who was sweeping by the front door and one other work serving a few customers in front of me. The worker who was making a bowl had a glove on her right hand only and was flipping her hair around with her left hand while waiting for the customer to make their choice. Wow! Good find the other night. After a long night of Girls basketball, we were cruising looking for food. We zeroed in on Zankou chicken. Well this place was in the parking lot and looked interesting. Well we ventured in and it was so good. Three of us and we were ready to eat. First time here and was pleasantly surprised to see an Asian-inspired Chipotle-style joint with ingredients that are all fresh and hand-cut. No machines, no deep fryers! The prices here are awesome, with bowls coming in at just less than $10. Music is well-suited to create a light-hearted atmosphere and the dining area is nice and cozy. Only reason I docked a point was because it's in a busy shopping center, so the only view you get is of a parking lot and moving traffic. Choose a base carb, add a healthy sauce, protein (one or half/half) and vegetable toppings. I made a tasty looking bowl. The vegetable topping section's unlimited choices, however, I only took three. And it's filled with some heavenly salads: zucchini, corn, cucumber, mango, tomato and more.... plain stuff like bean sprouts! They cater to dietary restrictions. Just read or ask when placing an order. Also, tofu's a gluten product and there isn't fish on the menu. I just ate some of my bowl. I'd compare it to homemade. They also offer veggies if you want to forgo the carbs. The meat is all lean, grilled, and diced perfectly. I ordered half beef and half chicken over veggies with curry! Pricing is great too. Two of us ate for under $20. I found it to be a very good value considering everything is made fresh on premises and was considerably light and healthy. We went in to try it at 730pm and they were cleaning everything like they were about to close, but they don't close until 9pm. Also it smelled funny in there; then we started look at the prices and man they seemed overly expensive ($10 for a bowl?) but I decided to start ordering anyway because you never know if there is something special about it. I began to order buns and the chick pulls them out of the steamer and touches them and tells me they're cold and she is going to warm them up... I watched her walk to the back, pop them in a microwave and I immediately walked out. I could get fresh buns off of a food truck. If the owner wants to invite me back, I might consider changing my review, but from what I have seen already, they are janky :( I was really hoping for a bun/bao spot near my work too. Found me a new lunch spot to visit on the regular! I ordered the steam bun plate which comes with three buns, you choose the meat or tofu, there are about six kind to choose from. The buns come with toppings - a nice variety of cut up veggies, steamed veggies, marinated veggies, corn etc. all of it fresh and taste really delicious. Yummy. Fantastic. So. Good. What a great concept! Start with your choice of rice/noodles/etc, then move on down to meat choices, sauce choices, toppings. Everything was so clean, simplistic, and earth friendly. The flavor was great! The ingredients not only looked fresh, but tasted fresh as well. The staff were helpful and patient (with folks like me who had to study each menu choice and consider how it would taste combined with other items). The portions are really good in size. If you're bringing 1 kid, I recommend sharing with him. If you're bringing a couple of kids, I recommend getting a bowl to split between the two. Downsides? Only one bathroom. It's good for kids in terms of healthiness, tastiness, and fun...but the stools aren't too easy or safe for a 3 Year Old to sit on. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! Came here with the fiance before a trip to Ikea. We both loved all the choices we got on our bowls - kind of like a subway or chipotle. You can pick from noodle/rice or a salad base then add veggies to your liking on top. The peanut butter sauce was delicious and went nicely with all the crunchy vegetables. I used both the peanut butter sauce as well as the teriyaki sauce to give my bowl more flavor. Fiance was able to add a lot of jalapeno to give his bowl a kick. Great potential here; it opened a couple months ago, replacing the quiznos that used to be there. I've been meaning to write a review for this place awhile now. It's owned by a nice, filipino family. And the restaurant's sorta like a chipotle with the bowls, but has steamed buns and a stew! I tried their buns and their salad. Both tasted great and fresh. Though, the steamed buns don't exactly come out hot. I wish they would. I liked their coconut curry sauce which wasn't even spicy, yet still good. I enjoyed the Steak Satay meat the most, seasoned more so than the five spiced braised beef. I'm all about supporting local businesses, so this is one place to absolutely try for healthy eats! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by TAP. The workers let you sample anything you want, which is good because I am always nervous to commit to something before trying it. Ive had the buns and side salad which was really flavorful. Ive also had the steak bowl with the curry sauce. The meat was tender and all the toppings I selected were really yummy. I was also happy with the amount of food I received, as their portions are bigger than I expected. Overall I think this place has delicious food for a fair price, and I think it's quite unique, especially considering the location. I look forward to trying their other options. Also, it is beyond me how one can give a negative review of a restaurant before even trying the food and giving it a chance. I never thought I would leave a bad review for TAP, but yesterday 06/10/2024 was the worst experience possible. My mom and I decided to grab an early dinner around 6:20 PM yesterday, thinking were gonna escape the reality of our everyday lives and eat some good food, but TAP and there employees decided they don't want us to have that experience. When we first get there , they tell us that they are out of Rice Noodles, which is literally one of the reasons I come here. He told us it's going to take 20 minutes, so we're like ok bummer, but no big deal well just use the other base where they filled the bowl to the brim with rice. I selected chicken and steak, which they gave an ok amount, and is not what I am even here to complain about. As were going down the topping line I ask for lettuce, than I asked for corn. I'm telling you right now folks there was maybe 9 kernels of corn in my bowl. I kindly asked him can you put just a little more. Than I asked for Pico de gallo. Again, very very small portion of Pico de Gallo, so I kindly ask to put another scoop cause I felt like the first scoop didn't justify for one normal scoop. As I am selecting the cucumber, the server proceeds to than tell me this is the last topping I can choose, because apparently they have a 6 topping maximum and every topping after that is extra. If you count the amount of toppings I got, you would count 4 right ? No, apparently to this server when i asked for just a little more corn and pico de gallo, he counted that as an extra topping. I have been going to tap since I was a student at Burbank High in 2017, I live right up the street from there. Never in the past 7 years have I had to pay extra for toppings for the same exact order I get every time. The server there told me if I wanted to add sprouts or mango, its gonna be 50 cents extra. It has nothing to do with the money cause TAP actually has good food, but to charge a dollar extra for toppings(mango and sprouts that are already included in there 15 dollar bowl really just rubbed me in the wrong way. Customer Service used to be so good people used to be so accommodating. Instead of being like "ok since we didn't have Rice noodles, this time I won't charge you for the extra toppings since we didn't have Rice Noodles but next time keep in mind that every scoop no matter how big or small will count as a topping". No your server proceeded to tell me "Chipotle does the same thing." That's funny cause I never compared you guys to Chipotle I always preferred TAP over Chipotle, but after yesterday I'll never be back and I'll put that on everything. Oh and on top of that, the next customers in line got Rice Noodles literally 5 minutes after us. You would think paying your employees 20 dollars an hours would actually make your experience better but nah we still stuck with terrible service here in Burbank, maybe even worse. I've been in Burbank for years and somehow this place has managed to escape me this whole time! I came here with small expectations. A "fastfood" Asian place...can't possibly be worth the 4.5 stars it has on Yelp. But I'm an optimist. Walked in, smell didn't really capture me. I initially came to this place to find a replacement for Shophouse and it ended up growing on me. The style is similar to Shophouse so it made it easy to like. The inside is pretty small so I don't know how this place operated before Covid but if you just order your food and go you're pretty much set. The order style is similar to Chipotle where you choose your items through the line. I feel like the sauces could be intimidating if you're coming here for the first time especially if you're more on the picky/safe side like me. I know the first time I came here I was hesitant to try them. Even now, after all the times I've been here, I've only tried the peanut and spicy curry sauce, but they mix very well together! After a few times coming here I ended up trying all the veggie options and toppings except for the bean sprouts and jalapeños. I really enjoyed my buns and bowls here. It was so easy to make my own bowl and I love the unlimited topping choices. Mangos, and Radish and Veg OH MY! Amazing!!! Words can not describe how good the food is! It's literally an Asian version of Chipotle and I love it. Wish they had more locations. The braised beef was sooo good. Love the variety of vegetables. It's very satisfyingly filling. The seating situation is a bit uncomfortable for some. But whatever you just gotta learn to deal sitting right next to someone. What I didn't like is the toilet being literally right there by where you eat. They don't have fountain drinks but do carry canned soda and juices. And they have a machine with water and lemon. I will definitely be back cause I absolutely loved the food. Better than Chipotle for sure. read more
