I'm so so happy that Tastea finally made its way out to San Diego. I probably saw this Yelp page a bit ago but noticed there weren't many recent reviews so I wasn't sure if it was real or not! Whenever in Orange County I would have to make a stop at one of their locations, but now that it's here and in Mira Mesa I now have another excuse to get boba after my weekend lake walks with my boyfriend hahaha. I think because this location is still so new, there was almost a line out the door when I got here on a Sunday around 4pm. Honestly you're better off ordering online while in line and will probably get your drink faster than others waiting. I have always been in love with their fruit teas because they use real fruit bits and it's refreshing. Their green honey boba is also really good too! I haven't tried any of their milk teas yet (but now I will since it's a lot closer to me!) but I have always went back and forth with the Lychee Peachee, peach me sweetea, or sunset peach. Newly opened Tastea located on Westview Parkway in Mira Mesa next to Smart & Final. We decided to try Tastea the week they opened and I must say they had everything in order. We ordered the milk tea with honey boba and mango smoothie, which cost about $11 total. The wait time was about 5 minutes with roughly a line of 10 or so people ahead of me, also waiting on drinks. The drinks were as you would expect/taste. Next time, I'll lower the sweetness on both of my drinks because they were on the sweeter side. Overall, great place for boba drinks. read more

I love love loved the cantaloupe crush but since it's seasonal and they don't have it anymore I have to find a replacement for it. This time I got the strawberry milk tea and wasn't disappointed. I wish it was a bit creamier but loved the fact that I could taste the strawberry and the milk tea was overall light and refreshing for me being that it was not overly sweet. The Peachme sweet tea is very refreshing for a hot day and wasnt on the sweet side when I had it. It's very easy to drink, my friend finished it on the way back to my house haha and she usually takes a while to finish her drinks. It wasn't on the sweet side but I'm not sure if that was because the ice melted and it got watered down. I'll update it when I get it again. C The unknown is way on the sweet side! I'd advise getting less sugar! I'm not sure if it's the longan's sugar seeping into the tea that makes it so sweeet but it's my 2nd go to! 5 stars for the fruit teas I got. 4 stars for the milk tea, I wish the milk teas were more creamier! The app tells what time the drinks are ready and the latest I received my drinks were 10 minutes because they were swarmed. The staff is very diligent and very organized. I love the lychee peachee and the jasmine milk tea.. you can really taste the tea and not just milk in the jasmine milk tea. The boba is perfect texture but I prefer lychee bits. First off, the atmosphere is awful. The smells of a nail salon reek from next door. If that wasn't bad enough, they charge 6 dollars for a 20 ounce tea with no toppings- which is incredulously overpriced and absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention, the tea isn't even that good. The softest boba I've ever had. I literally went back twice within a week. But definitely some inconsistency between the first and second time I visited. I got Thai tea with honey boba twice. The first time was sweeter, and the second time wasn't despite asking for full sweetness. The other annoying part is that because I loved it so much the first time, I got the app to get points but It didn't read the QR code at all - I definitely tried multiple times within 3 days as it listed on the receipt. I am a huge fan of Tastea and frequently visit their locations in the OC! I was in San Diego this weekend and decided to stop by this location to get my usual, the Avocado Avalanche. I ordered online through the app tonight (10/02) and after arriving 10 mins after, I was told to wait outside until they call my name since they just saw my online order. Waited another 15 minutes until I went back in to check... only to see my drink sitting on the counter. That was upsetting considering I was carefully listening for my name on the speaker and noticed huge groups after me got their name called for their orders. What I was most disappointed from this visit was the fact that my smoothie had so many bits of avocado peelings blended in it! With every sip, I had to spit out the small sharp peels and ultimately ended up tossing the drink. I am a loyal customer to Tastea and their drinks are always consistent but this particular store unfortunately broke that streak. read more

Good drinks, just had to comment on the customer service. Ordered 2 drinks and a karate chicken; the drinks came out quickly and I was told my name would be called when the chicken was ready. The chicken took 20 minutes to get. There were only 2 other people in the store, and I was listening out for my name to be called but never heard it. When I approached the pick up section, I saw my order on the counter. I expressed to an employee that my name wasn't called and she was apologetic and didn't have much other to say-- the chicken was nearly cold and just did not taste good. There were several employees working at the time and I figured if a hot item is ready, that there would be clear and prompt communication to the customers waiting in store. Wowza! There are 3 sizes: 20oz, 32oz and 44oz. Ya definitely should get the 32oz LOL it's so worth it. I ordered the Thai matcha and taro milk tea with regular boba. Both less sweet. I love that both drinks actually look like normal tea. None of that gross coloring business! I would give 5 stars, but the original boba is more on the "plastic-y" tasting side. I've had drinks from multiple Tasteas in Orange County and always thought that their drinks were good! I feel like the milk teas at this location is just okay. I usually get the matcha thai milk tea, which typically looks green. Additionally, I can usually taste the matcha when I order it. However, the matcha thai milk tea looks like a normal milk tea, and I can barely taste the matcha. The fruit teas here are as good as I remember them from OC though! Don't forget to check in for a 10% discount! The wait time can be long during peak hours, and parking here isn't too bad. read more

I got here for the first time today at July 24 2021 6:23pm. I asked staff at the register for recommendation about the menu ,but it seems like she was too busy on her phone. There were literally 8 people behind the counter doing nothing. It doesn't seem like these teenagers want to work. No one has any idea about the menu and they weren't even tried to be helpful.
