I'm never disappointed when I come here to eat. Their food is so good and the service is impeccable. The staff is always very nice and accommodating. They don't usually allow for reservations but held a table for us since we were a larger group. My sister first put me on to this restaurant and I put some friends on to it as well. Whenever we have visitors to NY, we bring them here if we can. My nephew was visiting from school so we invited him and my brother. They both love Thai and are adventurous eaters so we knew they would love Tasty Thai also. My brother is pescatarian and TT has many protein options available. To start, I ordered the appetizers for the table. Everyone was happy with my choices of summer rolls, calamari, wings, chive dumplings and veggie dumplings. It was the perfect amount and everyone got to try some. For our lunches, we all ordered different things., all of which were very good and filling. I tried their duck noodle soup for the first time. While it wasn't my favorite, it was tasty. The soup is topped with a crispy duck breast. It was a bit too sweet for me but other than that, it was very filling. Other items ordered included their pineapple rice which is a staple. My brother and sister both ordered extra pineapple fried rice to go as well. Another favorite is their red curry and duck. My sister tried a newer soup from their menu, the Khao Soi soup. It looked diving and I will have to try on my next visit. My nephew inhaled his green curry with duck and my brother tried drunken noodles with veggie duck for the first time and loved it. We definitely had our fill and topped off our meal with hot tea and glasses of yuzu lemonade. I wish I lived closer but a 30 minute drive is definitely worth the food. Located in Ridgewood, the location is in close proximity to most boros, Staten Island may be a stretch. Took the family out for a light supper. Ordered a few apps, to open our appetites. Chicken wings, chive dumplings, summer rolls, calamari and pan fried dumplings were the perfect assortment but we had to leave room for the main dishes. Green and red curries were flavorful and filling. Served with duck and a mound of jasmine rice, the flavors were bold and vibrant. Pad Thai with egg and mock duck was "chefs kiss" for the vegetarian dinner guest. Pineapple fried rice with chicken or shrimp will satisfy folks with less adventurous palates. Last but not least, the soup was to die for. The roasted duck soup portion was so large, you could have the leftovers for lunch. I am always super weary of getting take-out Thai food so I approach it with caution. And let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised! Tried two of the apps: curry puffs and chive dumpings. The former were delicious. I didn't really care about the dipping sauce and didn't think it was necessary. The puffs were so delicate and the filling quite delicious and flavorful. There are a handful of dishes I would judge a Thai place on and chive dumplings/squares are absolutely one of them and I could not get enough of these. The portion was huge (8 pieces) and the perfect amount of crispiness outside with mushiness inside you would want. Two mains. First was a sleeper hit: ground meal basil with fried egg. This is another dish I would certainly judge Thai places on and this was great. At first a skosh salty and I don't typically love minced meat. But once you mix the rice into it, it was perfectly balanced. A good amount of spice. The fried egg broke apart nicely and added another lovely texture on top. Also grabbed the pad see ew. This one was just fine in terms of flavor. Another huge portion. Admittedly I ate this about two days after ordering so maybe it just didn't save super well, but this was my least favorite of the dishes. Stopped here on a Friday afternoon before a nail appointment, and my goodness, what a delightful lunch! I had order the Thai ice tea with the curry puff as the starter, and a beef noodles soup. Didn't get to take the picture of the drink and I realized mid way eating that I forget take the photos, because EVERYTHING tasted so delicious. Only thing I noticed is they didn't have the traditional noodle soup condiments like at many authentic Thai restaurants, like for example (fish sauce, vinegar w/ jalapeños..) However, they did have other condiments available, as you can see in the photo. I will say the broth was so flavorful that the missing condiments for me wasn't a deal breaker( hence the 5 stars rating) Delicious food, kind waitress, and overall clean welcoming environment. Good food, good prices. Came here off of a friend's recommendation and since I was in the area. Definitely coming back. We got an order of the crab ragoons. Good crab to cream cheese ratio. I had the Drunken Noodles with chicken, and my friends had the Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad See-Ew, and Sweet and Sour Sauté. The Drunken Noodles were perfect--saucy, spicy, perfect. My friends also enjoyed their dishes, especially the Sweet and Sour Sauté. Their portion sizes are bigger than they look--I usually clear my plate but I had enough left over for lunch the next day. The restaurant is small and more popular for pickup and delivery orders, but there are 2-3 tables for dine-in. We were able to sit down right away and order. The servers are very friendly. Without fail, if we're in or around Ridgewood and are in need of a bite to eat, Tasty Thai will likely be getting a visit. The interior is fairly simple, with minimal decoration aside from a few pictures on the walls flanking booths with chairs and tables. Their food has to be some of my favorite in the area; you'll find great fusions of flavor, texture and heat, with their standout dish to me being their red curry with duck--if I'm ordering from here, it's what I'm getting, without fail. Similarly, their appetizers are fantastic, such as their chive dumplings that have a great texture and even greater flavor to them. The drinks are refreshing and complement the food well, a favorite of mine being the lychee iced tea; normally, something as (relatively) sweet as it wouldn't be a strong choice for me, but the flavor is too good to pass up. I ordered delivery from here. It arrived very quickly, ahead of schedule. I loved the tom yum fried rice. I love spice and usually get basil fried rice, but I saw that this dish was also labeled as spicy so I decided to give it a try. I asked for it to be extra spicy and they definitely delivered. It had a great kick. The rice was "wetter" and more tender than basil fried rice, but the ingredients were similar. I liked the extra broth-type flavor in the rice. i've been looking for a place that sell my favorite dish which is crispy pork with basil everywhere ever since the place where i usually got them closed (in queens). The only reason for this place not getting a 5 star is because of the poor seating. It's winter & the seats next to the door gets hit with the cold air once the door opens. Hmm..........I'm torn. On the one hand, I had a very delicious sweet and sour dish from here with a decent Thai tea. The pineapple in the sweet and sour actually didn't bother me and it was jam packed with veggies which I really appreciated. The broth was sweet and savory, exactly how it should be. Perfection. On the other, I had the worst ginger meal here ever. I mean woah! The ginger was all encompassing and so strong you can barely taste anything else. The ginger was most definitely fresh but far too much. Dishes require balance and this one had none. Overall, I've ordered here a few times and some dishes are better balanced than others.
