Been on a boba kick lately! And revisiting some oldy but goody locations such as this one. Haven't been here in ages. Great place for specialty drinks, they have so many different options and varieties to choose from. From guava, blueberry, lychee, mango, and a few others. Their fruity tea preset drinks are great for those that need a little extra oomph than a basic peach green tea. Love that many of those preset fruity teas come with fruit bits and/or toppings. Their boba texture is alright and could be a little better. It's on the tougher side, it does require a few extra chews before it breaks down. Could also use a little bit more flavoring as well. The syrup it was sitting in was not strong enough to seep through, you can taste the sweet syrup mixture it was sitting in slightly on the outside and the inside is extremely bland. Tea flavor is there. Both milk tea and fruit tea, the tea shines through. They current bottle is a corgi design with pink accents, maybe for Valentines. read more

I got two drinks both at 25% sugar and they tasted vastly different. One was a mango slushie which did have just a hint of sweetness - perfect! The other was the Christine, their best seller, at 25%. I couldn't taste any sweetness whatsoever. In fact, the entire drink tasted bitter and was difficult to drink. I understand that I opted for 25% sugar, but the two drinks were drastically different in their sweetness level. I would not expect such drastic sweetness profiles when both are at the same sweetness level. This was disappointing. read more

The drinks have stayed the same for the past years I've come here. I always take friends or family here for the unique cups they have. I am giving 3 stars solely because I ordered through the self kiosk and made sure to request for the cup rather than the normal ones. woah. i dont frequent teabrick as much as i used to, and even when i do, i've always gone to the arcadia location. so i was pleasantly surprised when i stepped foot into this location with my friend nate! its both small and big in here. seems like an excellent place for studying. very aesthetic. like most places nowadays, you can do online kiosk or in person ordering. like most people, i opted for the kiosk. like a child, i ordered the strawberry milk shake. it was okay. the ice chunks were very chunky. my main problem was the constant smell of burnt something wafting from the cup. i discovered that the foil seal they use was severely burnt, yet still intact. it was honestly really gross. they might want to invest in better sealers. the cup itself was very nice. a bit outdated, but it's not bad to have another reusable cup in my storage. read more

The tea is thick but it's not that thick that you can 'bite' it, with the right amount of milk that does not dilute the strong tea flavor, and sweet enough to be a treat but not too sweet that it becomes a dessert. Loving the boba, you can eat them on it's own as a treat. The chewiest boba i've ever tasted! But it comes at a cost though, if they stick/clumps, then you need a dyson-level sucking power to drink them with a straw. And be mindful that when you finally get them out of the straw, the velocity creates enough splatter to make an impressionist painter proud. I get the idea of having straw hole on the bottle cap, but i think it defeats the purpose of having a bottle. Ordered an almond matchamisu with 25% sugar and no ice, the staff said she'd check with the kitchen to make sure they had the ingredients before getting my order. I used to come here all the time because it's down the street from me. However, recently their drinks have been tasting like mold/mildew. The last 2 times, I got large chrysanthemum teas. I thought it was a fluke/in my head but my partner mentioned to me, without being prompted, that it smelled like mildew/mold in the entire store. This last time, I took one sip of my drink and realized that it was not a fluke and my drink, indeed, tasted like mold/mildew. Too bad I had already made it home before trying my drink so I couldn't get my money back. The way the drinks are sealed with their pink lids makes it so that you are unable to drink from them on the go. You'd need two hands, one to hold the drink and another to hold the pink screw-on lid. There's also an aluminum seal over your drink, under the lid, that you are supposed to rip off - it is too hard to poke your straw through - making it extra hard to enjoy your drink right away. Although I was disappointed by their declining drink quality, their service was quick and professional. You can either order from the kiosk or the cashier. read more

Cute boba place with instagramable corgi cups! There is a self-order kiosk as well as a cashier, so the wait is never too long. Love at First Sight was my first ever drink from Tea Brick. We came here as this place had pretty good reviews on Yelp. If you are walking by..it is easy to miss especially if you are using the GPS. Its a very small shop with some seats to sit down and enjoy your milk tea. The vibe inside with the wooden panels on the wall gave off a cabin like feel. That's just my personal opinion. Seems like they need to update the interior. Anyways, I really enjoyed using a self-service machine to order the milk tea. I salute the business for making ordering fast, efficient and convenient. My wife enjoyed her Milk Tea. I ordered the Horchata Milk Tea which is good, but too sugary. I would recommend sharing it if you need don't want to max out your sugar intake for the week. I've visited on two occasions and the place is always busy! It's a narrow shop with seating on one end, and the kiosk/kitchen on the other. Besides the awkward shifting that you have to do because of the narrowness of the shop, there isn't much in terms of ambiance or decor that is too exciting. The wait time for drinks/food is pretty considerable but there is typically a long line of folks who have ordered, etc. Highlights for me: popcorn chicken and the mango green tea with jelly. read more

I got their brick tea and a brick bread. The wait was longer then I would have liked. There were 2 groups that ordered after I did and they got their orders before me. The brick tea is simply like a milk tea. Cup that it came in is super cute and reusable. Brick bread was more then I expected. Brick bread was soft in the middle and crispy on the outside. Decided to try this place because of the cute mug and high ratings. The place is very quiet. And the service is fast. Maybe it's 8pm so no crowds at all. Ordered three drinks, Rose green tea is my favorite. However, Tea Brick version is too strong for me. I feel like I'm drinking a rose hand soap. Kangnam tea. Not great but not bad either. I was browsing through the many boba spots in Monterey Park, hoping to try a new place and the boba cups here caught my attention! I ordered the Christine Tea (lol) and the jasmine green tea. Christine tea was really refreshing! I got mine with 50% sweetness level which wasn't too sweet and I loved the jelly pieces. Jasmine green tea was okay. I've been several times and also have ordered to go through the app. I've had several of their drinks and I've liked all of them. I have to get them less sweet. I've tried the Matchamisu, Hokkaido milk tea, almond milk tea. The last time I had their boba, it was ok. The texture was a bit too chewy and it got stuck in the straw. I really don't understand the craz of tea houses. This one isn't any special. It tastes the same. It's in a crammed plaza with other restaurants. Parking isn't easy. Underground parking is available but it's sketchy, dark, and dirty. The place is a long rectangle with a couple of tables. They have curtains over the counter to cover what's behind the counter and how they make their products. That's sketchy to me. It's boba tea. It's okay. Nothing special. I got the standard black milk tea with boba at about 25% sweetness. The milk tea was as expected and the right level of sweetness to me. You can get the bottles for a little extra $ but you can also choose the regular cups. Their parking lots are easily filled up but you can go into the parking structure for more lots. Some of the best boba I have had in a long time! I was impressed by the large menu with plenty of options (I had such a hard time picking). Ultimately, I went with a taro milk tea, green tea hokkaido, and guava lava fruit tea. I love that you can adjust how much sweetness is in your tea. I personally did 75% sweet on my taro milk tea, but could have done even less. The guava lava fruit tea was our favorite and it had actual chunks of lychee in it - so delicious! read more

This is located on Garvey Ave but entrance is on the backside of the building - a bit difficult to find if it's your first time.. so enter from N Ynez Ave through the side. They have a couple menus on the table to browse through - extensive menu with so many options. There's options to select either the "cutie"/regular tall cup or "beauty"/plastic bottle with twist off cap. We got both the honeydew milk tea with boba and the girlfriend tea in beauty. The pros about this bottle is that it's reusable but the cons is that it's not boba friendly because once you remove your lid, the straw just swims around. The honeydew milk tea was extra sweet and milky and had just a slight faint honeydew taste. Also, the boba was on the softer end, tad bit too mushy for my liking. After having had a disappointing meal I wanted to get a boba to at least round out the experience and saw that Tea Brick was close by and seemed promising. There was decent parking (weekday at an off hour) and walked in. I liked Tea Brick as soon as I entered even with the decor all pushed to the side. There was a large menu along with flavor type-and all the options spelled out clearly-sometimes boba places are a little hectic with menu layouts. I got the Lycheeberry, lite ice with 30% sugar in a regular cup, didn't feel like a glass one and waited a little bit for my order. The drink came out and it was not sweet-usually with boba places they amp up the sugar and 30% is basically the max level of sweetness. Tea Brick is the exception to the rule and my drink was actually in need of sugar. Now that I know they are pretty even handed with the sweetness I'll be sure to try again. read more

The family had a craving for some cold drinks so we walked over to Tea Brick. My hubby really likes the drinks here, but I'm not impressed. Maybe it was the drink I selected (the Dragon Ball), but it was extremely bitter and even though there were fresh mango bits in the drink, they were cut up in such large chunks that they wouldn't go up the straw, so I couldn't enjoy it. I actually contemplated tossing it as I walked out the shop, but decided I could go home and add something else to it to make it taste better (maybe lemonade or a juice of some kind). Kids thought their taro milk tea was fine, nothing special compared to other tea shops. On the plus side, they have two sizes of cups, the bigger one is a reusable screw top lid container with cute cartoon corgis on there. With so many other great boba shops out there, I'd skip this place and head somewhere else. read more

I came here specifically for the cute reusable cups so imagine my disappointment when I was told they ran out of them and won't have them in stock for a while! :( I wish they told me this before I ordered, I had to ask about the cups after I received my drink in a different container (photo attached) and the bobarista who made my drink didn't seem like she wanted to answer questions... Just another short tea review. This place is narrow with a brick facade. There are outlets on the seats along the wall and the vibe is generallly pop music. The contact with service is minimal but the tea drinks here are top notch. The drinks technically come in two sizes, a normal plastic cup and a sort of souvenir cup which is slightly larger. I tried a vanilla ice cream milk tea drink which was rich and delightful and left a silky vanilla taste in my mouth and a honeydew milk tea which was had a clear and strong honeydew taste to it. All in all, I enjoyed my milk tea beverages here and would recommend out of the bevy of tea options in the area. read more

My Mom and brother were at this Tea Brick in Alhambra to take advantage of their drink-in area. We needed a table so my Mom can sign some documents. My brother was being nice and got a couple drinks. That's how it goes... it's like me needing to use the ladies room at McDonald's and I feel bad so I buy something such as chicken nuggets or an ice cream cone. It's like... take a little give a little concept LOL. My brother got a couple mojito drinks. I took a sip out of one of them. Yeah, quite limey taste. I'm not much of a mojito fan, but I have tried their other tea drinks. They aren't too bad... can't keep track of all the tastes since I've had so many different tea boba drinks. Their cups are very cute though. Of course, you pay a little bit more for the designer cup LOL. I've seen other Tea Brick shops around in neighboring cities. I have to say... there are so many tea drink places... it's hard to choose, but I'm sure there will be a favorite or two LOL. So many good eats and drinks in So Cal. Love it! Staff usually aren't very smiley. I just don't know what is up with that... it's like that everywhere. The popcorn chicken comes out piping hot and crispy with sweet and sour sauce. There's plenty of parking at the back lot and in the underground garage.
