I went in for takeout and I was surprised to see that they deliver. On their paper menu it read "Free Delivery (Minimum $25 order) Within 3 miles 11am-9pm" Pretty cool. The interior of the restaurant isn't too big or small. They have large windows, booths, and tables. They also had a different book displayed on a few of those tables.. Odd, but okay. Nice people. Moderate prices. Beer and wine. The food was good. We'd definitely have it again.. Hot and sour soup, dragon & phoenix (half chicken and half shrimp), steamed rice.. The crabmeat cheese wontons were okay. The wonton was harder than i'm used to and I didn't really like the sweet and sour it came with but it was okay. And one last thing that I didn't like-- the fortune. The cookie was okay but the fortunes they keep.. really lame! I'm looking forward to trying everything else though. We'll be back. read more

First of all if they sold stock I would invest. Hands down this is the place to go if you live in elk grove and like Chinese food. Lucky for me I live close and they deliver the best Chinese food in elk grove in my opinion. My favorite is the general chicken and the Brackley beef, the kids love the poo poo plater. First time eating here today. I went during lunch and was a little surprised at how empty the place was. The food was good! Not superb, probably better than most Chinese food though. The prices were a little on the high side for what I got, but not too bad. The food also arrived at the table quickly, which was a huge plus for me since I was in a hurry. The staff were all very polite and professional. They refilled my water three times while I was there and deserved the good tip I left them. This is my favorite place for Chinese food in Elk Grove. The food is tasty and always comes out hot even when I have it delivered. You get plentiful portions, usually enough to have for lunch the next day too. When I order shrimp or seafood dishes, there is always a nice amount of seafood. Not just 4 shrimps like other places. Also, I've noticed that they use a lot of nicer vegetables in their dishes (other than the chow mein and fried rice) like broccoli, asparagus, baby corn, etc... They also serve "vegetarian meat" which is great if you are going with a large group of people and don't know their preferences. The service is ALWAYS excellent. The staff is so nice to us and our kids. They are fast, friendly, and refill drinks promptly. They keep the place very clean. They deliver quickly. They are very courteous, always pointing out if a plate is hot or they think it might be too spicy for the kids, and they give fortune cookies to all of us even when we don't order one dish per person. We use to go here all the time, service was excellent & so was the food. Now it's a different story. First of all the food isn't even good anymore, I'm not sure what happened there? Secondly, the service is even worse. We ordered food and it looked like it was someone's leftovers left at the restaurant. Then when we told them they didn't seem to care at all, the manager actually argued with me? Even after I told her how often we supported their business. There were a couple more incidents, but I wanted to give them a chance before leaving a poor review, but every time they were just as rude & food consistently not as good. The food here was absolutely delicious. The orange chicken was so flavorful and had real orange peels in it, don't eat them though they are quite bitter but give the chicken such fresh flavor. The bbq pork fried rice was one of the best I've ever had. The pork alone was something you'll end up getting cravings for. The hot and sour soup was the perfect combination of spice and sour. It did have meat in it which I don't care for in hot and sour soup but I just ate around it. Went to Tea Garden for combo lunches. The service was pleasant and the food good. The business appears to be making some adjustments to address the cost of COVID on their business, which is understandable. However, I wish they were more upfront about how they are making little cut backs to save on costs, such as no longer providing egg rolls with their combo dinner and lunches. They post at the entrance that egg rolls are not currently provided due to supply issues. The server told us that they are out of egg rolls because they were not being delivered by their food provider, yet on the menu you can still order egg rolls separately as an appetizer. It would have been better to just be honest and say egg rolls are no longer part of the combo meal instead of making an excuse that they are out of stock. Further, when we asked if they are substituting anything for the egg rolls, she said that instead, the meals are coming with complimentary soup, but soup has always been part of the meal. Don't make it sound like a free substitute. We do want the business to survive, but may give them another try down the road. read more

I was craving some veggie chow mein and the Chinese spot by my house just can't get it right so I decided to check this spot out. I ordered the chow mein and hubby wanted their beef fried rice and orange chicken and we were not disappointed, hands down one of the better Chinese spots I've been to out here, best chow mein I've had in a long time, their fried rice was really flavorful as well. These guys care about how their food tastes - you can tell because they cut small steam holes in the take out containers. I have always gone to Panda South Chinese restaurant in Elk Grove but it sadly closed and is now the Journey to the Dumpling restaurant in the Target shopping complex. I have been on the search for a Chinese restaurant with the same quality and food and taste as Panda South. I frequently patrolled this establishment. I like the taste of their food. However --- the service has gone down hill. Now the owners are only interested in profit and do not care about maintaining their loyal patrons. This is all over rice. Yes, just some plain ole steamed rice!!! I have a very stressful job and one of my small joys in the days is to select what I get to eat. I work hard and as I am getting older, I can no longer infuse my body with fast food. I need to find healthier options. One of those options is mushu-beef. This is a stir-fried item with lots of vegetables and a little liquid. Mushu items typically are served with rice pancakes and plum sauce. Instead of rice pancakes and plum sauce, I typically ask for plain steamed rice. MOST Chinese restaurants have no quarrels with switching these items out. Especially since the steamed rice is already made and is de minimus to their bottom line. The rice pancakes on the other hand need to be warmed up, wrapped in a tissue then wrapped in aluminum foil (whether or not you or to-go or eat in the restaurant). Further, there is the cost of the cup and lid to put the plum sauce in. Stingy owners do not bode well with my gratuitous wallet. They are not the only game in town!! read more

Use to live next to this place for years, and walked over at least twice a week to grab lunch or dinner. I knew I was going too much when the nice girl with glasses began to recognize my voice over the phone when I called to order pickup lol. Glad I moved, but I miss this place and Puy Huy Hoang, and walking around the fake lake after a meal. Their menu is fairly consistent with most Chinese restaurant offerings, but the real stand outs are their chow fun which is really great, there fried rice is great where most places are just good. They have great chow mien as well while many places just have oily noodle heaps. Also their black bean sauce is excellent, second only to Golden Dragon's, but they are on the entire other side of town. Their egg fu young in black bean sauce is very good as well. All their other dishes such as your standard beef broccoli, orange/mandarin/sesame chicken are all good, but nothing mind blowing. Their most stand out item is their pot stickers. They have these thick dough wrapped potstickers, with spot on pork filling. While the dough is thick, it's light and not chewy in the slightest. Also their in house pot sticker dip sauce is mixed perfectly, it's different enough to be better than anywhere else I've been to. If I won the lotto, I would hire the chef to live in my house and make pot stickers every damn day. Christmas potstickers, potstickers while I light fireworks in July, potstickers while I ride my jet ski, while I race my Porsche around the track, on my death bed. Their combo plates are a great deal, $11 bucks gets you a huge box of food. On days off when I was being a bum or working from home, I'd get a combination box for lunch, eat half, and have plenty left over for dinner that night. The establishment is always very clean, with a good amount of seating that I've sadly never seen full, they deserve more business. The staff is always friendly, and they never take long to serve, and to go orders are really fast. They also have good chili sauce, similar to the garlic chili sauce you get from a jar, but different enough that is much more preferable. read more
