I dream about the macadamia nut pancakes when back at home, and I'm still trying to replicate their breakfast fried rice between visits. They remember us and our family, even though we are only there a couple weeks each year. THEY ARE AMAZING! Couple that with the amazing beach view, sounds and relaxed atmosphere, I never want to leave!

It's a very small place, but I will say the view is beautiful. They don't have a system in place for the lines, which caused some people who were far behind me, to get upset, when the 2 couples behind me, went first, not realizing I was ahead of them. They accused me of cutting line. When I had patiently waited for an hour To make things even worse, the older hostess, thought I was cutting line. I literally had to grab the people ahead of me, to verify I had been in line. Back to the food, the "famous pancakes", aren't that great. Soggy. Not as much flavor or texture. I think this place is overhyped due to tourist who come from small towns. But in LA these type of breakfast spots are a dime a dozen. I will say, the waitress was amazing. Very sweet and helpful. Do yourself a favor, if the line is long, pass up on it.

From our resort villa, we online ordered a large Crispy Pata, $46, and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes! Our Crispy Pata and a box of rice and dipping sauces were ready and waiting for us! It was delicious; fatty, crunchy, and full of flavor! This Crispy Pata lasted us quite a few meals, which we added to saimin, or rice. If you want great local Filipino/Asian fare, come to Joey's Kitchen in Napili. I am sorry that we missed the opening of their new restaurant, Dang Dang Noodles, by a few days. Next visit!

While I adore and often cook a lot of Asian food I'm not such a fan of Filipino food yet around it more than any other food with family. Bad choice. After driving there from Lahaina for lunch, this dish was unavailable?? Even yelpers rave about it! So we ordered the pork belly and wanted chow fun but they only have the chicken variety? So there is a reason why the Asian restaurants we usually dine at make beef chow fun. The chicken version was bland and wanting for something else to complete it! But surely edible and nicely cooked noodles. The pork belly was ok but not slap your momma I'll go back for that good. The Mac salad was awful compared to much more affordable plate lunch places. It was flavorless, overcooked pasta, and a gritty texture! Weirdly the chairs there at the tables are low and you feel like you are at the children's table at Thanksgiving. So much so that us and two other groups including the ones that moved after ordering to our vacated table moved from the regular tables to the ones at the window with a bench on one side. We had fun joking with our replacements about that! So for the most part here it appears to be tourist clientele and not many Filipinos but my wife. I think that these exceptionally high prices for basic dishes and burgers (she asked why would people go to a Filipino restaurant and order a burger) are why not many locals eat here. And frankly most aunties make better Filipino food better at home. Glad we tried but not again. Checked off of our try try list. They didn't even have a signature dish available that we went particularly to get.

Being able to sit right by the water and watch whales from our table was unreal -- one of those moments you just can't plan, and it made the whole experience feel extra special. The service was top notch from start to finish. Everyone was warm, attentive, and really made us feel taken care of without being overbearing. For food, I had the short rib loco moco, which was rich, flavorful, and super satisfying. My husband went with the traditional loco moco, and my son had the short rib benedict -- both were really good and full of flavor. The kids had the pancakes and had zero complaints (which is always a win) That said, I would absolutely come back. Between the incredible views, whale watching, and amazing service, it's 100% worth the visit.

The hostess had us seated at the high table right next to the bathrooms where there were constantly people walking by our table. She claimed there were no other tables available and was not interested in finding an alternative table for us. I have a 10-second video of our little girl blowing out her birthday candle, and we got video-bombed by a lady walking by within that short duration. The food was... okay. The kids got their own dishes, while my husband and I shared the calamari and the whole fish. The calamari was on the softer side if we're being euphemistic, and the whole fish was kind of dry. Our server was lovely, which saved this from being a one-star review. As a place to grab a quick bite, Mala is probably fine though there are better options on this island. As a place where you make a reservation weeks in advance to celebrate a milestone, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere unless you enjoy the sound of flushing toilets and doors opening/ closing during your meal. Never again.

The customer service was okay, female worker wasn't as friendly with us as she was with the person in front of us. I came for an acai bowl and got the island vibes açaí and added cacao to it, this açaí bowl is not the sorbet type, but a blended açaí (I didn't know that). This is just personal preference, I don't like blended açaí because it melts quickly. The lilikoi butter is a fun idea, but I don't think it blended will with the bowl itself, it was bitter. My friend got the Cali style breakfast burrito and it was a small wrap and hardly "Cali" style at all. It was just giving breakfast burrito. The salsa was giving it came from a jar We also got an unsweetened matcha, if you have high expectations for matcha, I'd skip n go elsewhere. Overall food was good but very over priced for what you get. Go support the native Hawaiian locals instead of this spot, just being real.

The dragonfruit chia bowl was pretty good, just the ratio of the actual dragonfruit (puree) and chia pudding was about a spoonful of each in comparison to the actual fresh fruit. It was really off. The grand slap was basic with overcooked scrambled eggs, plain potatoes that tasted frozen from a bag, and dry toast. It didn't come with butter or jelly so we asked for some. The pancake was okay. We did ask if there was another kind of syrup available other than the maple syrup that was there at the table. Our server offered us coconut syrup which was brought out ice cold. On top of that there was a $3 charge for it which the server didn't mention and I didn't see it listed on the menu. The mushroom scramble was also dry and plain. I had high hopes for this place, seeing that the restaurant itself looks bright and inviting, but unfortunately the food overall was less than mediocre.

We did make a dinner reservation and so glad we did, quite a few people waiting and walk ins as well when we arrived. We were here last week for lunch and it was "Ono", food was outstanding and wanted to see how their dinners were. Madison was our server and she did an incredible job, she was on it especially covering quite a few tables nothing lacked her attention and charm. I had yet to try a Loco Moco since we arrived in Maui, I have had this dish on the other islands and it's been good. Tonight I tried Aloha Mixed Plate Loco Moco, they offer it with a choice of steamed rice or fried rice so I wanted to try the fried rice. What a difference in flavor combos. The fried rice gave the dish a much richer taste than the steamed rice. The hamburger patty was incredible, I could taste the char noting it was not fried on a flat top. Excellent dish. My wife did the sirloin steak special prepared with mushrooms and onions and cooked to perfection. Juicy and flavorful and plenty of it. Cocktails were outstanding, we tried something different from our first visit. Loved the evening feel of the room, the night vibe with the exterior torches and landscape really brought the tropical feel. Then came an amazing sunset which you could experience from any table in the house. Couldn't leave without trying the Aloha Pie, so decadent and light. Glad we came a 2nd time, have to say we have not experienced the Hawaiian flavors like we have tasted at Aloha. Do try it for lunch or dinner but make the reservation because it would be sad to get there and not get to try it. Bravissimo Aloha! Ciao
