Holy crap how did I not know about this place? I got the cardamom latte, even though I don't usually like weird stuff in my coffee, but it was incredible. Delicate, warming, well balanced. It is possible to find a more homespun vibe in the Mission rather than subject yourself to the constant hipsterati. You just have to know which businesses to enter and start hanging out at them. This is one of them, and it's on the popular corner of 24th and Harrison right where people have frequently rounded the corner to get the Secret Breakfast ice cream at Humphry Slocombe. OK, maybe I was talking about me, but when I feel calorifically guilty, I come here and nurse a $3.75 large cup of their Drip Coffee (photo: http://bit.ly/2qY383K). There are plenty of other items to consider like big bagels, salads, and paninis. I'm fine with my coffee and not having to hear the inane conversations saturating many of the other Mission cafes. COFFEE - 4 stars...obviously good enough for me to keep coming back AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...relaxing spot even if the little tables are awfully close together SERVICE - 3.5 stars...certainly nice enough, just not that talkative until you become more of a regular TOTAL - 4 stars...you should skip the Secret Breakfast sometime and give your waistline a break...OK, I'm talking to me again read more

This is a great cafe to study in! There is ample seating, lots of outlets, and delicious food to snack on. I like coming here in the mornings because the place has a lot of natural lighting. I had the rose black coffee which was pretty good. The pastrami panini was also a really solid sandwich and the portion size was fairly big. My only complaint was that the bathroom was broken the few times I went which was disappointing. read more

I was so excited to see that they had "cafecito" on their menu. . .but what curious choice to open a coffee shop in a majority Latino neighborhood and mis-name something. The alleged cafecito was standard, medium machine coffee. Not strong, not espresso, not sweet. While it was good, it was most definitely NOT cafecito. Further, pretty sure the bagel and jam was entemens and smuckers, which is fine but not locally or freshly made. read more

I'd like to give this place more than 3 stars because the people who work there are so incredibly kind, but for some reason they've stripped away the menu--which used to offer so much--and now just feels like a coffee and pastry shop...with only a handful of pastry options...but their coffee is excellent, so if that's all you're looking for then by all means give them a go read more

Temo is a bright little spot in the Mission and I enjoyed the ambiance greatly. - Pretty small cafe (but that's what to expect here?) - Food is great, ordered the chicken panini, picture attached - Enjoyed the horchata latte a lot! - Read a lot of reviews about nice staff, but didn't really see that (not a negative thing, just wanted to share my experience!) - Free wifi - The ambiance was awesome. Can we talk about the horchata latte?!! I read the reviews and decided to see what the fuss was about. I was not disappointed. It was soo delicious! Not too sweet, a perfect balance of espresso and horchata (two items I love, separately). I also had the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. I took one bite then devoured the sandwich. After living in NYC and moving back to the Bay Area, I've been hesitant to try bagels here because they can be underwhelming compared to bagels there. The bagel at Temo's was soft compared to dense nyc bagels but it was still delicious. The sandwich was warm, soft, and filled with cheesy eggy goodness. I also love this particular area of the Mission. While enjoying my breakfast two older men were sitting nearby laughing and chatting about the city. They seemed like regulars at Temo's. The overall colors and friendliness of the people really give it a nice neighborhood vibe. read more

Stopped in while waiting for the Fiesta of the Americas to be set up. Happily ordered an iced latte, and the coffee was so fragrant! Next time I would try their orange blossom latte. Dec 25, 2022 great day for a great cup of coffee but who is hope that is my question. So I roll off the hill and headed town to the Mission. The weather was great and as always great to be in the Mission yes, it has changed from the good old days but it this hasn't lost all of its greatness. Parking was easy and I jump out and cross the street and the music was easy and it was warm because living on that hill is like and ice box. What to drive Chai oh yes and it was lovely and hot the way I like it. I ended up hanging out for a while and met some real nice people while enjoying my Chai. To be honest I've never been disappointed when I stop by. This a great spot and you trust you will met some really nice folks in this place. And today was didn't disappoint at all. Came with a friend early on a Sunday morning for breakfast. It seems like a nice neighborhood cafe. FOOD: I had a bagel with lox. Unfortunately they don't have lox spread (cheaper alternative for those who don't need all the lox, just the taste of lox). I enjoyed my bagel but removed some of the cream cheese, but this is typical (I like mine a bit more moderately cream cheesy). AMBIANCE: It's order up, seat yourself. The place is hardly upscale, but it's bright and open with a decent amount of seating. SERVICE: People working here are nice, no complaints! OVERALL: Solid bagel, would come back. read more

Best Chai latte out there! I was introduced to this place by a friend and was immediately wowed by the pretty interior of the cafe. I had the BLT here a few times and the bacon is delicious, though best eaten in one sitting. I ordered an iced Chai latte my first time here but eventually tried their hot version and I'm never going back to ice Chais! If you're as much of a sweet tooth as I am, I highly recommend this place! Before coming here I had never heard of a pistachio croissant but when I tried it I was in for a sweet yummy surprise! Just let this cafe with the feeling that this world still have good people. Apparently that one of the newhired employee is going through though times. The owner not only offered him a job at the café but actually offered the couch of her home for him until he can find a place that he can afford. Employees here are honest. One customer was asking for an espresso drink but the employee was honest enough to share with the customer that he didn't know how to make it instead of faking it. I enjoyed my reading time here with the F&B. Again, I left the café with hope and gratefulness. read more

Love the atmosphere. The baristas are personable and down to earth. Lattes are excellent. They keep the doors open when it's warm enough, so it never feels stuffy. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

This is what a call a good renovation. The new owners took over and their focus was customer service and making everyone feel special. Unlike other places that have taken over previous owners but made things more "hipster" by their lack of friendliness, pale and opaque decor and ambiance, painting over the "bright" colors of the Mission, Temo's did it right and I'm glad they are keeping the "Mission" feel alive. I mean "Calle 24" the new name and streets that are now protected by law. I've been going here ever since "Bello Coffee and Tea" owned it and one of the pluses now is that they sell food. I'll note that past owners were also great. Quality is great, the coffees are delicious and they offer a wide variety of flavors, sometimes I feel like having a coffee like in Starbucks (with flavors and whipped cream) and not many cafes in the Mission sell them. It is more "cozy", less "business" like and it has a family feel to it. You feel "happy" being here. The owners are usually there and they work very hard. The employees look happy and I've noticed she treats all customers the same. I am glad that a new family owned business joins the "Calle 24". read more
