Beautiful view on top of the Sandia Mtn. Everything is price gouged because it's the only restaurant/bar here. The poor review I'm going to give is mainly because the service was so lacking, that it makes me mad to be paying marked-up prices while receiving lack-luster service. We paid $70 for 2 tram tickets just to get to the restaurant, then the beer/wine/cocktail list was $11-17 for items we had at other venues in Albuquerque for $6-10. Here's why the service was poor: We were quoted 15-30 min for a table for 2, and we ended up being sat 45 min later in a restaurant that was 30-35% full. Then it took exactly 11 minutes to simply be greeted by our server. The kitchen didn't pay attention to the ticket that said "no spicy mayo", and it put it on the sandwich, and they also smeared what appeared like half a bottle of hoisin sauce instead of a light drizzle on the Bahn Mi sandwich. The $16 Green Chile Stew was so tiny given the expensive price, but it did taste good for the 4-5 spoonfuls it lasted. We were visiting on vacation, and it's a beautiful, unique experience, but the food and service needs to be much better to justify an overpriced menu. read more

After hiking la luz trail for several hours, this place was an excellent spot to eat and relax! I got the carne adovada wrap which tasted so good! The only thing preventing me from leaving a 5 start review is the quoted 35 minute wait with tons of open tables in view once we decided to sit at the bar in addition to the gouged prices. All that said, everything we tried was tasty, and the drinks were delicious! The bartenders we had were super attentive and kind, and of course the view is stellar. After taking a beautiful tram ride to the top of the mountain we were able to continue enjoying the view from the large windows of the restaurant. We started our meal with the bone marrow which combined several different flavor profiles into a truly delicious appetizer. For entrees we ordered the strip steak and filet, both were cooked exactly as requested and were great cuts of meat, I did find the amount of sweet potato with the strip steak slightly overwhelming, but that's more personal preference than criticism. For desert we had the crème brûlée flight and I absolutely loved the matcha raspberry one! Overall the food was amazing, the view was breath taking and the wait staff was friendly, very accommodating, and even gave us a sample of the Sandra profiterole on the house. The ambiance is the best in Albuquerque, beautiful floor to ceiling windows, modern decor, spectacular views. The food was almost all stellar. I'll start with what I didn't like and move to what I loved: The ravioli was kinda terrible to be honest lol. The sauce flavor was weird almost gross I would say, but the staff was accommodating and replaced the item. The lamb chops were decent, I've had better in abq but it was not bad, the part I disliked the most were the sides it came with, I thought they were probably the worst tasting sides on ten3 menu, they weren't bad don't get me wrong, but for a $66 entree I expected a better side dish selection than raw arugula leaves and apple dressing? It was pretty whatever, presentation was beautiful though. We asked our server nick what he recommended, and he replaced it with pork chops and oh my god, let me tell you I've NEVER had a better pork chop in my life. They marinade the pork chop for 24 hours and let me tell you, it's crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and every bite jumps with flavor; and I wish their serving of "avocado salsa" was more because damn it's so good, although it's not really a salsa it's a guacamole, but they call it salsa, so just know that you'll be getting the best guacamole in Albuquerque with that meal, I suggest asking for extra, eat the pork chop slice with some of that guacamole on it you won't regret it. The Mac and cheese was one of the top 10 best Mac and cheese I've ever had in my life, no matter where I've traveled to, it was so good. I will say there was a hiccup when I first got the mac and cheese, it was slightly warm when it first came out, they immediately brought it out again and it was hot and delicious as can be. They really killed it with the 5 cheese bechamel, kudos to the chef. I am a cook as well and i can tell you this is the work of a good chef, you guys gotta try it, just make sure it's served hot. They brought us a bread basket , and you can tell it was house made bread, and each one had a unique flavor and they didn't pull what a lot of restaurants do and make it cheap bread just because it was free, the bread lived up to the high standard of food that the rest of the menu did. I know it's just a side dish but I gotta give a shout out to one of their best side dishes, the goat cheese polenta, I loved it so much I ordered a side to go and I'm eating it while I write this review, it's Insanely good. My boyfriend had the 3 sisters dessert and he loved it, I am not a dark chocolate fan as much so my own opinion would be biased. The drinks, no matter which one you order, is excellent, but I need to give a special shout out to their ten margarita, it tasted like it had mango and spice in there, it was to die for. After we finished dining a nice young lady that worked there offered to take pictures of us with the view and it honestly made our already nice experience even better. Overall I really felt this restaurant still deserved the 5 star review even though we had a couple minor grievances, the good parts we experienced were so good we feel we absolutely have to come back again. This lofty location is really (and unfortunately) dedicated to the mission of being a mixed bag. This new building is stunning, truly. And the idea of fine dining from the peak is... well, peak romance. Pun intended. The high ceilings, the full windows, the fire place, the open view of the kitchen. THAT VIEW. Getting there taking over an hour of being yelled into new cattle-lines and then stuffed into a tram like sardines and waiting in a long line at the hostess stand behind people in hiking gear swinging their poles around is...less than a fine dining experience. And maybe that chaos could be overcome if the service was great, but it's... also chaos? And that chaos only heightens at the hostess stand instead of being relieved there. The hostess started greeting us no less than 4 times and then allowed another customer to walk in front of us mid-conversation and pull her away to something they found emergent. The staff is clearly having a lot of trouble handling the idea that they take both casual walk ups for the bar area and fine dining guests. Or even managing of people are in line or not. When you make a reservation, they make a VERY big deal about tables not being available for specific requests. Like, they call you to give you rules and instructions, which is amusing after experiencing their service. First come first serve, they say. But upon arrival in the chaos we said, "hey, that two-top by the fireside is open and this spot is very cold- could we sit there?" And they said absolutely not, tables are assigned, you must stay here in front of the emergency exit. Which is where we sat and watched the nice fireside table sit empty for another 45 minutes... in the cold. This is also about how long it took our waiter to finally greet us and then get us drinks from the bar that was struggling all night. Multiple things we ordered our waiter came back and said they were out of and we had to change our order. The appetizer, salad, and dessert we had were great. 100% fine dining worthy. The main course was... fine? All in all, I did not find this experience to be worth the trouble. I came here to celebrate birthdays with two friends and was excited for a fine dining experience. Most of the night was excellent. The food, service, and atmosphere were everything we hoped for. Unfortunately, things went wrong at the end. One of my friends is a recovering alcoholic and made it very clear at the start of the meal and again when we ordered dessert drinks that she needed something non-alcoholic. She specifically asked for a virgin espresso martini or a latte served in a martini glass. The server said she would bring a chocolate martini that would be suitable. However, the drink contained alcohol. My friend unknowingly took a sip and ended up breaking her sobriety. When we brought it to the server's attention, she simply responded with, "Sorry, there was a miscommunication." In reality, the request had been made clearly and more than once. It was a disappointing and upsetting end to an otherwise great night. I truly hope the restaurant takes this seriously. However, it just so happened that we were able to take the first tram that was there when we got there up to the mountain and we were very early for the sunset. It was COLD out and we did not plan that well, in terms of clothing, so we decided to come in for some cocktails. It wasn't crazy busy and there was no wait. First, it wasn't mentioned on the website when I looked (and I don't know if it is now or not) but you can't just come to the bar and have a drink, you must buy an appetizer too. It's REQUIRED. Ok, that's not an issue. I was a bit peckish and wouldn't mind a small snack. I have a few issues with that. I don't think that's the norm or what our server was used to because she seemed surprised when I mentioned it. Also, if it's a money thing, why don't you make a 2 drink minimum? I didn't want that food but I would have ordered 2 drinks so you've actually just lost money from me as fries are much cheaper than a cocktail. Second, the food was gross. Sorry to say it like that but based on food alone, this place would have gotten 1 star. The views and our awesome server saved this experience for us. The french fries were the sorriest excuse for fries. They were undercooked, oily, semi cold, tasteless but over salted, just a sorry excuse for a french fry. ABQ, NM This restaurant is at the top of Sandia Peak. Let's begin with the overpriced tram ride up to the top of the mountain. I think it is a novel thing to do but so incredibly overpriced. With that said, let's go to the restaurant review. There are two dining experiences. One is fine dining and the other is casual. We decided to go to the casual dining as we had dinner reservations later that night. We walked in and met the hostess Bonnie and a very nice guy with great hair that was a host with her. They were both incredibly kind. Both had personality and great to talk to. we were able to snag a table by the window, believe it, or not, and we thought we would just order a drink. The drink was overpriced, like the tramway, but to be expected for a tourist location. We were enjoying the conversation with our friends and decided to order a few appetizers. I ordered the curry roasted cauliflower and the green chile roasted garlic hummus and both were unbelievably fabulous! The food was served at the perfect temperature, the flavors were spicy yet complementing of each other, and flavors just exploded in our mouths. I thought the prices were high, yet after eating the food they were worth every bit we spent. Our waitress was Amanda. She was kind and attentive. Even though the restaurant was busy, as every table was occupied, she was always there when we needed her. My biggest complaint is the management. As we were enjoying our cocktails, food, and the view, we struck up conversation with the table next to us. As they were ready to leave, we stood up to say goodbye. The manager sent the host in to tell us that we could not stand in the restaurant, and we had to sit down. I wouldn't believe this to be true, yet when we were going into the restaurant before we had a table, we were told we could not linger around the bar or stand in the restaurant. We could only go in if we were sitting down at a table or a bar top. I think this is a bit excessive. I understand that you are there for the view but when I stand up for less than two minutes to say goodbye to somebody, I think that the manager was quite rude. I wish he had come over and identified himself rather than sending the host over to do the job. So I am giving this restaurant a four star. They gave pallet cleansers , water glasses always full. For those possibly only going looking to try the bison, the smash burger wasn't on the menu (at least on reservation side ???) and the steak is $170+ but can be split between the couple with no extra charge and cut table side and is a nice experience having them describe the food as they slice. As a local to NM I would not order the Ten 3 margaritas or the pork belly, pork belly although great! and paired amazingly to the apple shiso taste akin to Chicharrón so if you are looking to try something new that is not the play, but it is rather good with everything and is a comfort food so I wouldn't stop you. You've got to be prepared for what you're in for when you come here. Yes it's pricey but this is a special occasion place. And it's worth it. The view is SPECTACULAR but you need to take a tram to make it up here. I loved the decor and ambiance, especially once the open all the shades as the sun is setting. We went on a Monday afternoon, so it wasn't super busy on the mountain, which was nice. And it was raining off and on that afternoon. Ten 3 is a small place with limited seating, and on this Monday I think they only had one cook and limited servers as it was difficult getting a seat and they only had five tables they were seating. So we sat at the bar when we just happened to see two seats open up. The food was great, although expensive, but it's what's expected in a place where it's the only option. We started with the chip trio, which came with tortilla chips, guacamole, salsa, and queso. All were very good and it's a good starter for two to three people. We decided to split the field greens salad with added chicken. This one surprised us with how good it was. The fruit gave it a nice sweet flavor mixed with the pear vinaigrette. And the chicken was cooked perfectly. And looking around it seemed like a lot of the food looked great! And...you can't beat that view with the big windows! read more

Hello! So it was so nice to head up to the top of the Sandia's again for some food and a view!! I hadn't been to the new spot so my hubby and I decided to make the trip up for our wedding anniversary! First of all, you have to buy tram tickets to get up there which are bought online and ran us $65 for 2 and you buy them the day before. Be aware you need to arrive at the tram an hour before your reservation time. The restaurant is really good about telling you all the details when you make your reservation and they even remind you a day or so before. Lots of people waiting for the tram but folks with dinner reservations get to get on the tram first. The ride was lovely as it was sunset. When you get off the tram, wow! The new building is stunning. We took some pictures of the city then went in to check in. They seated us immediately even though we were about 15 minutes early. The dining area has floor to ceiling windows, gorgeous decor and super cool light fixtures! We had a card at our table wishing us a happy anniversary signed by all the servers! Nice touch. We had a very friendly and knowledgeable waiter but the surrounding noise from the other diners made it a bit difficult to hear him. Not too big of a deal. We ordered fancy bottled water the former queen of England used to drink and we got a whole story on the history. We got homemade pumpkin bread and rosemary bread with truffle salt butter right away. We had a lovely ravioli starter that was so yummy I could have had 12. It had an amaretto cream sauce that tempted me to pick up the plate and lick clean when we were done. I did NOT do that but I scraped the dish with a spoon earnestly. I ordered the filet which came with fried beets on top and garlic mash that were phenomenal. The beef!! Wow! Cooked perfectly, tender and tasty. I ate it all. I took home some mash and beets and they were a great snack the next day. My hubby got the rack of lamb. He loved it! It was very good and beautifully presented. Desert: I had the blood orange mille feuille! So good! Gorgeous stacked pastry with almonds and a blood orange custard and chantilly cream! My hubby got the three sisters which consisted of Baileys chocolate mousse, chocolate bowl with vanilla bean ice cream and a shot of Jameson sweet cream (21 and over). So so good! This is a place for a special celebration. It takes effort with the tram and all the planning but is it worth it? Heck yeah! June 5, 2023 - Ten 3 Restaurant, (Albuquerque, NM) We arrived at the Sandia Peak Tramway a little after 4 pm on a Monday to head up to Ten 3 Restaurant. Note: the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We got checked in for the tram ride to the top and then went to the gift shop to buy some souvenirs. We headed up on the tramway at about 4:40 PM. It was about a 15 minute ride up to the top. The views as you're going up are pretty remarkable, with Albuquerque out to the west with beautiful desert mountains and plateaus in the distance, and remarkable rock formations and conifer forest below you and to the east. You climb about 4000 feet along the 2.7 mile tram, the longest in N. America. There were dark storm clouds looming in the distance and it was looking like there might be a good chance of rain. When we got to the top, we headed straight to the restaurant and bar to check in and grab a glass of wine. Our original plan was to go back outside while we waited for our 6 pm dinner reservation and take in the views while we sipped on our wine; however, the hostess at the restaurant said we could be seated immediately, so we took her up on her offer and headed inside to the restaurant. We checked our coats and then got a table right next to the window looking down and out to the west. The clouds were growing darker and coming closer to us as we sat down. Our server's name was Nick. He was a friendly and talkative guy and we struck up an immediate rapport. He gave us a quick rundown of the evening specials for appetizers, and we discussed options for choosing a wine. We decided to order the seared yellowfin tuna as an appetizer and a bottle of a Monterey County Santa Lucia Highlands 2021 Mer Soleil Reserve Chardonnay to go with our meal. Excellent choice from our home State and region. Nick showed up shortly there after with our wine and we continued to discuss our options for our meal. My wife ordered the ravioli and I ordered the sautéed jumbo Mexican shrimp. We also ordered a Caesar salad to split. As we enjoyed our appetizer and wine, we also received some delicious apricot pear bread and butter to go with the meal. Our Cesar salad came out shortly after we finished our appetizer. Everything was delicious! At about that time, the dark clouds decided to release their fury. Rain and snow began to pummel our window. There was lightning and thunder. It was very exciting! One of the most enjoyable and exciting meals we've ever experienced. The downpour lasted for about 15 minutes and then subsided. Our main course came out not long after. The ravioli was delicious. It was made with asparagus, sweet pea, and grana padano stuffing, blistered, baby tomatoes, and a buerre blanc sauce that was poured over the raviolis at the table. The sautéed jumbo Mexican shrimp was also very tasty. A substantial departure from my wife's more creamy buttery ravioli, It was prepared in a achiote pan sauce with a mixture of avocado and lime, dark forbidden rice, organic squash, grilled pineapple, and red onion pico. The presentation of these two wonderful entrees was amazing and added to this already exciting and delightful evening! After we finished our main course, Nick brought us the dessert menu. There were lots of good looking choices that included cognac and other aperitifs. We settled on the three sisters desert, a remarkable triumvirate of chocolate mousse, Jamison cream, and ice cream in a chocolate cup. It was insanely chocolatey and delicious! We finished the meal off with two house-made, caramel-filled, bite-size chocolates that Nick brought out with the bill. A perfect finish to a perfect evening! And, to top it off, the storm had subsided by the time we decided to head back over to the tram and go down the mountain. We learned that the tram had been stopped during the earlier lightning storm. People come to ten3 because it's the only option at the top of the mountain and if you don't, then you're riding the tram up and back or hiking. The view is obviously great and because there's only one option the restaurant gets busy. If you're wanting a meal I'd recommend a reservation! They had a pretty good cocktail list and beer/wine options and we thought about ordering a few appetizers but nothing on the menu really stood out, plus the prices were high. My friend and I rode the tram up for our birthday because we wanted to eat at the restaurant, Ten 3, at the top of the mountain for lunch. When we arrived, we weren't the only ones wanting to eat there, so there was a bit of a line. No problem, though, because we were inside the front area, and it was warm. When we got to the front of the line, we were told it would be a 45-60min wait. They told us we could get a drink at the bar and then drink it outside while we waited for the buzzer to go off. It was a cold and windy November day and still early enough that the sun wasn't warming things up, so this plan was not my first choice. We went inside and immediately noticed all the empty tables on the lunch or casual dining side of the restaurant. I was confused why there was such a wait with the empty tables, but I thought maybe they were short-staffed. My friend and I each got a to-go ten 3 margarita at the bar (tequila, grand marnier, lime, green chile & pineapple syrup). They were given to us in plastic cups, and the bartender had difficulty getting all the liquid in the cups. Some of it splashed out when it hit the ice while she was pouring. I wasn't upset about this until I realized they were $19 each. It was an ok margarita, nothing to write home about. We were seated after 30min at one of the tables I had noted was empty when we were in there earlier. It was an interior table without a view, but it was warm, and we were hungry. We decided to switch to wine because the margaritas were just ok and very pricy. My friend got a glass of the MER SOLEIL SLH for $14, and I had a glass of the RICHTER for $14. We got the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail (hatch green chile cocktail sauce, corn chips) for $19 as an appetizer. It was delicious! The shrimp were huge, and the cocktail sauce was flavorful with just a hint of spice. My friend got the Carne Asada Street Tacos (Chef Martin's street taco creation of the day, borracho beans, ask for today's style) for $19. She said they were very tasty. I got the Alfredo Pasta (alfredo cream sauce, grana padana, toast points, with citrus poached shrimp) for $45. While it was very pricy for a lunch offering, it was so delicious. The alfredo sauce was creamy, the shrimp were huge and tasty, and the bread was crisp and buttery. We decided to skip desert because nothing looked spectacular to us. I was delighted with the food, and for a special occasion, it is doable. However, the service left something to be desired and that is why it is a 3 star review. We hardly saw our server, and she was neither warm nor friendly. Plus we had to wait a long time for the check and then a while for her to take it to run it. The server at the table next to us brought out our appetizer and was laughing and joking with us. I was the most excited to spend my birthday dinner at Ten3. The ambiance was nice, and the view spectacular. Unfortunately the food really needs some more work. I ordered the bison bone marrow, and the inside of the bone marrow was cold. I couldn't swallow the lard-like substance and sent it back to the kitchen. We then had the bone-in prime rib, and it was overly salty. I would go back again because of the view, but I would definitely order something else. Don't have too high expectations of their food and then you wouldn't be disappointed. read more

Great service, and the food was very good. A bit pricy, but that is expected at 10,300 feet, at the top of the Sandia Peak Tramway. And try for a window seat. Great views. Lunch is casual dress, but dinner's are business casual. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. read more

We made reservations at Ten to celebrate our anniversary while visiting Albuquerque. The restaurant did an exceptional job making it memorable. We were immediately seared upon arrival via the Sandia Tram. Ian provided service and did an outstanding job--he offered excellent recommendations and paced the meal perfectly. We started with the pork belly and Brazilian cheese bread--both dishes were excellent. My wife went with the special which was a lobster tail accompanied by homemade mushroom ravioli. I had the pork chop which was excellent--it was juicy and cooked perfectly. We concluded our meal with the tres leches and chocolate cake--both deserts were excellent. Our dining experience at Ten 3 was exceptional and if you are in the Albuquerque area, it is well worth visiting for dinner. read more

We've eaten at both sides of Ten 3, but our recent visit to the fine dining side was amazing. We were able to be seated along the windows and it was stunning during sunset. Our waiter was attentive and provided great suggestions for both wine and dessert. My husband raved about his steak- it was cooked perfectly. I ordered a chorizo/shrimp dish that was unique and filling. The bar offers a solid wine list and great cocktails. The prices are a bit inflated but that's clearly warranted due to logistics.
