Conversation with the hostess wasn't the greatest experience. Was told there was a full house and the wait could be 20-1hr vs 40min wait time for a pick up order. Told her I'd like to do a pick up order and was told that if I called in an hour instead for an order my wait time would be different. Told her I'd still like to do a pick up. Got my order home, popped open the order of veggie tempura and there was a hair inside. Sushi was good. Eel was sadly full of bones so I pulled off the eel and enjoyed the sushi. read more

I've eaten here with my girlfriend a couple of times now and not only is the food and drinks great, but the staff is friendly and hospitable - everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I took my mom out to lunch a while back, right when they were opening for the day. The staff was friendly, Dean was helping us for most of our dining experience and he was great! They offer a wide variety of rolls and many other options. There are more things available during dinner, with that said the price is a bit higher. New sushi lady chefs are not as experienced as the previous chefs. The sashimi rolls fall apart. The tempura shrimp are not the same light whispery batter as before. Had a togo order and I think this place has potential but the interaction with the staff member came off as a little rude. It kind of deterred me from coming back. My friend came to stand with me and the worker asked us "if there was a problem" and I told her "no we're just standing waiting." One of my favorite sushi spots, I always do doordash with them. I ordered during Covid, I picked it up for the first time because I had 50% off. They were on time and made fresh. Ever since then, I have had them about 4 more times. I always get the "im your mother" it's baked salmon. So freaking good! And a side of white rice. Today I got sushi & tried the iced matcha tea with boba and cheese topping. I wasn't impressed with the boba, they were too hard and had a weird flavor but other then that, so delicious. I just took the boba out, definitely give them a try if you like sushi. I have to try something new! And I failed to take a picture, I thought I made a review the first time!!!! Food was not the best. Service was good up until the sushi chef with black hair and a ponytail started yelling at the poor bus boy/runner. Straight up cussing at him. If you can't handle being chef under pressure with patience then find another job instead of acting like an asshole to your employees. Decided to try this new sushi restaurant based on reviews. Put in our order at 6pm, estimated 20-40min to fulfill it, my fiancé walks in at 6:30pm and we are told it's not ready yet. Ok that's fine. We wait in the car until 6:50pm and he goes to check on our order. The woman up front says it's not ready yet and gives him a lecture on that being why they give time windows. My fiancé points out it's past that time and suddenly our order (we think) is ready. Right before we turn into our apartment complex (we live about 15min away) they call us. They've given us the wrong order and want us to come back. I look at the order ticket and yep it's the wrong order, not only is it the wrong order but this order was called in 20min after ours but was ready before ours. Basically, don't expect good service here. One extra star because their management is was professional and quick in addressing this. I'll update again after we go back. read more

This is the first time in my life I ever had to throw away sushi. Absolutely disgusting sushi. Ordered thru 3rd party delivery. Driver was great. The salmon was so old it tasted terrible. All the of the fish I ordered was old, I'm shocked a place like this exists! I had to throw away so much food. Old salmon, old yellowtail, old white tuna, the spicy tuna had a nasty texture like something I've never tasted in sushi before. The rice was like you guys used yesterday or the day befores rice, it was hard and not good at all. The ginger you guys gave me actually tasted rotten like it's been left out in the hot sun. This place is absolutely DISGUSTING. If you live in Vegas you know there are so many delicious sushi places everywhere, unfortunately this place is not one of them. Love this place. One of the best parts of the past few months has been curbside takeout from here. The food is always great and the staff are super courteous and helpful. The spicy tiny crispy rice is a must order for me every time. And I haven't had a roll that I didn't like here. For dessert... The Samanco is a must try if you've never had one before. Just not good. I eat sushi without any sauces and I'm a picky b when it comes to taste. When I opened my delivery the box smelled super fishy. My order was wrong and I'll be honest my cat would t eat the salmon from the top of the roll. This said all I needed to know. I've been super disappointed by vegas sushi. So many reviews are like "big rolls" and "value" but that doesn't make good sushi. I'm sticking to sushi hiro in Henderson. So far it's the only good sushi I've had. read more

Simply wow!! We were driving around and found this little place. We went during lunch and and were able to enjoy their lunch specials. We had a rainbow roll, california roll, and a bento box. Found this place on Yelp one day when craving sushi. Decided to try it out. It's a small spot, smells good and is clean. Good location, easy parking. Got AYCE & I was sooo impressed! The rolls are amazing, delicious & so many great options. The service was great too. Sometimes you go to AYCE and the roll choices are eh - but there are TONS of rolls that I want to try here. This is a great little sushi spot! If you're familiar at all with the area, then you'll know Tengoku was previously a different sushi restaurant called Sushi Bay. When we entered, the hostess/server was very kind and explained to us that Tengoku is a completely different owner. Although it was fairly busy when we went for dinner, the rolls came out at a reasonable pace. The restaurant looks more up to date and was clean. It's a small restaurant so keep that in mind if going with a group. Service was wonderful. But, most importantly, the rolls were great!! An epic review for epic flavor: There's been a gaping void in my life ever since my beloved Sushi Bay closed after switching to new and unworthy management. After a few weeks of isolating in quarantine, my bestie/roommate and I felt that void swelling and decided we felt up to the task of trying a new sushi spot. We'd grown weary and wary after spending so many months of 2019 searching for potential eateries to satiate us. It was with the renewed vigor that social distancing brought us that we decided to take the plunge with Tengoku not only because they looked pretty tasty, but lo! Curbside pickup! We placed the order via phone call and set out to pick up the treasures. Unfortunately, we did not consider we've never been to this trove of wonders and were delayed. Instead of putting in the address in a gps like any common adventurer, we assumed "near the Vons" meant the other Vons on Windmill. Once we saw no Tengoku in any vicinity of the other Vons on Windmill, the detour was realized and we declared NOW we could try a gps. Imagine our surprise to learn Tengoku was in the place we once called home (aka Sushi Bay). We were so shooketh we did not even realize our order was missing some appetizers until we got back home. We rushed back to pick up our forgotten items and upon arrival, the kind lady included a couple of free popsicles. Thank you, you masked and gloved angel. I ordered a Tengoku Bento Box. It had chicken teriyaki, gyoza, shrimp and veggie tempura, miso soup, a California roll, and a salad which waited for me in the fridge, lookin like a Kevin Jonas meme. My first taste was the California roll. I popped a piece in my mouth as we ran out to retrieve the aforementioned missing appetizers. It was a delight: soft but not squishy. The chicken teriyaki was a big old portion. It was stacked. It was rack rack city. The bag was secured. The flavor was pretty good, but not even my favorite thing I ate. There were many, many tempura. Only two of them were shrimp, but the veggies were tasty, so they were welcome. I ate them all. No one was spared. No mercy was shown for those happy, lil tempura. Finally, the last thing I ate (that I ordered for myself and was not eaten from the bestie's generous scraps) was the gyoza. I knew it would be good bc the bestie got hype af about her potstickers. I am now googling how to remotely file a low priority police report bc those gyoza assaulted me with all the smacks. The bestie's meal was also aggressively delicious. Her thoughts: The potstickers were nice and crispy with tasty meat inside. It reminded me of a potsticker lumpia type of taste. The stuffed jalapeños were just your average run of the 'meal' type of stuffed jalapeños that you'd get from any sushi restaurant. As for the mushroom caps... I could eat them any day of my life. It was sturdy but somehow melted in your mouth. Crab and cream cheese on a perfectly cooked mushroom. Think red lobster or Olive Garden stuffed mushrooms, but sushi style. They were very delightful. Rainbow roll had fresh fish topping the classic California roll. The salmon was a nice sized piece (no measly fish pieces). Japanese Lasagna was oozing with cream cheese. My lactose intolerance screamed no, while my mouth said "more please". Since it was takeout, they put the sauce on the side which I was pleasantly surprised that I liked. By the time we got home the second time, the roll was cold. I hesitantly placed the Japanese lasagne in the microwave and heated it for 30 secs (squinting my eyes in horror). I took it out of the microwave and immediately tasted it. To my surprise, the roll not only held up, but it tasted nice and warm like it came right out of the oven. Sexy Boy was a tempura roll topped with spicy crab. Unfortunately, the crab was not spicy. However, it was still really tasty. I could probably eat the crab topping from a bowl, by itself. Dessert was strawberry mochi. Not the kind that has been sitting in freezer burn for years. This mochi was soft and fresh tasting. Yum. The end. TL;DR: Great customer service during times of pandemic! Super delicious food in very generous portions! We'll most definitely be coming in for AYCE once we're ready to venture out of quarantine! read more

Ok so my partner convinced me to give them a second try at a time where they aren't busy and it'll probably be different staff. So I did & it didn't go well. The server got my drink order wrong . Then brought me a regular cold shot glass for Hot Sake vs the ceramic ones that help keep it warm a little . The canned beer my partner got had creamy white stuff all on the top. & when I asked for a different shot glass he brought me a large ceramic cup that was like half the size of the hot sake container . Then when we said we're actually just going to go somewhere else he looked appalled . What in the world!? Like how do you mess up sake and it's MATCHING glass lmao I cannot with this place. Tried AYCE on a Friday night. Portions were generous, fish was fresh and the sauce was plentiful. This place is still a hidden gem, try it out before the word gets out. Crunch Lobster roll was probably the best I've ever had and packed with fresh lobster, Kiss of Fire roll wasn't as spicy as I'd like but made up for it with plenty of flavor. Baked mussels were very well seasoned and delicious as well. They were okay with modifying rolls as well which I really appreciate. Top it off with the Green Tea icecream. read more

Can't give them five stars. Service has been terrible both times I've been. Just too slow. Had AYCE tonight and it took at least an hour and a half. Time between dishes was sometimes 15 minutes. They were overwhelmed. One waitress and two chefs for the full restaurant was too much for them.
