Went with a friend and ordered the House Special and the Waffle Combo. It's an old-school place serving classic, no-frills fare--nothing fancy, just the kind of comforting dishes you'd expect. Definitely has that neighborhood feel, with loyal customers. It wasn't crowded, and we ended up staying for about an hour and a half.

This is a true neighborhood diner that's been around forever and more. Inexpensive, no frills breakfast, lunch, dinner are your choices with plenty of seating at tables or counter. The atmosphere is laid back 60's with good service and straight forward diner food. I had the Avocado Cheese Burger medium rare with fries, wifey had the Mushroom Cheese Burger medium with fries and a side of BBQ sauce. A little chincy on the grilled mushrooms while I had half sliced up avocado on my burger. Rest of the table had omelette and a corned beef hash. Overall, I'm glad diners like TG are still present in the neighborhood. It gives you a sense of satisfaction and internal happiness in that places like this still exist in fast paced SF. Street parking is your only option on busy Taraval and there were plenty of spaces on a mid day Wednesday. Happy with my burger and fries from Tennessee Grill... no idea where the name is derived as we're not anywhere near Tennessee street... ideas anyone?

We arrived for an early morning breakfast of pancakes and Burmese Tea Leaf Salad...and left perfectly satisfied and very happy. Service is always friendly and continues to be efficient as the crowd fills tables.

No line for brunch on a Saturday. Out of the row of bar stools at the counter, two were dirty. One had a used napkin on it and the other had an old newspaper. I sat down on a clean one and order a mushroom cheeseburger $13.50 and a side of sunny side eggs $5.25. Food arrived quickly. When I assembled and ate the burger, all this grease started spilling out. While it tasted good, that can't be healthy. Service was fine.

Came here for the first time with a good friend of mine! I've always walked past it but never made it a plan to come eat. I was craving breakfast food so I got their Mandalay Slam which comes with 2 sausages, 1 slice of bacon, 1 sausage patty, ham, 2 eggs, hash brown & wheat bread. This was only $14.95! I was surprised at the variety of meats for this price, I was expecting it to cost a little more. My friend got their spaghetti with meatballs which was $18. I tried a little bit of hers and it was also really good! Super flavorful! Love how tender the meatball was.

Fast, friendly, good food and service. I ordered a Burmese tea leaf salad. It was tasty, refreshing, full of flavor and had everything crispy, crunchy peanuts and broad beans for texture. Jalapeño peppers on the side so you can take out or mix it all in with the fish sauce on the side. Yummy! Shared with several coworkers and they all liked it too!!

I made a reservation via Yelp for 3 people on a Saturday at 11:15am. My table was ready on time and they seated me even though our full party was running late. I got the Omelette Fried Rice (4.5/5), that came with delicious sriracha bacon, and an okay salad on the side. For my drink, I got the strawberry matcha latte with oat milk (5/5), which was fantastic. It's on the sweeter side, which worked for me. It was fairly busy and a bit loud inside. The dining room is long and narrow but has a decent amount of seating. Service was good, and friendly.

In my opinion Lapisara ranks in the middle due to the other excellent options available. Seated immediately--had a reso but on a Wednesday morning not really necessary. It took a long time for the single employee to get to us but we weren't in a hurry. Cappuccino was very good in a cute "bear mug" and very reasonably priced. We shared a pacific omlet--not much crab, lots of shrimp, and nice swiss cheese/scallions but tasted kind of fishy--potatoes were only avg. Son said huevos rancheros were average. Price point good for SF and portions adequate to share. Location convenient so we will try dinner there tonight before a comedy show nearby. Dinner-5++ stars; 4 of us Had dinner last night-6pm-reso but not needed. only one other group dining. Single Waitress was great-we let her know we needed to leave in about an hour for a show and she timed everything perfectly--we even had time for dessert. we ordered so many items that she brought over an extra table--we shared everything family style. Most Yelp reviews only mention brunch but the dinner was awesome--service; food: taste/quality, presentation, portions, prices we phenomenally low for SF ($200 with a bottle of wine for 4 people). We started with the garlic butter clams-small but tasty. Tuna tartar was excellent quality and enough to share. Samosas were more like empanadas--very good with peanut sauce so good it rivaled my own home made. We continued our culinary adventure with crab fried rice-delicious, a large portion and my son who lives in SF and has tried dozens of crab fried rice ranked it in the top tier. The pacific catch rice noodles with crab was also excellent-big portion, lots of crab, tasty. Final entree was their specialty-Mussaman Curry. Wow, tender meat/potatoe "stew" with a very unique flavor from the star anise/cinnamon and peanut--to die for. Creme Brulee was very good with lots of fresh fruit accompaniment My only complaint was a very limited wine selection. Lapisaia will become one of our regular spots for dinner!!!

Of course, we had to order the "Millionaire's Bacon Sample Platter" to share. It comes with 4 pieces (Original, Citron, Cinnamon and Rosemary). I mean it's thin bacon - they are all delicious. The Citron stood out to me. I like that hint of orange and sea salt goodness. This is a must try! I couldn't help it and got the "Big Hip" - HAHAHA. It's their famous deep-fried French toast. OMG, it's too good and it went straight to my hips. It's crunchy outside and fluffy inside. The service is good and definitely quick. As other Yelpers have mentioned, the wait can be incredibly painful. The potatoes were nicely cooked with plenty of crispy pieces, and the eggs came out exactly as we requested. Both sausages were flavorful, although we both slightly preferred the chicken apple sausage. The pancakes were the only part of the meal that didn't quite win us over. The texture was softer and mushier than we expected. We were hoping for something a bit lighter and cakier. Between the two, my boyfriend preferred the almond flour pancakes.
