    Limited bar but cute
    Theresa G.

Tequileros Taqueria on Bruceville road is a cute little spot tucked into a small shopping center. We originally thought it was a full-service restaurant with a bar, but it's actually counter service--order and pay first, then they bring your food to your table when it's ready. They don't have their full liquor license yet, so alcohol is limited to beers (mostly a good selection of Mexican beers, plus some champagne-style options). We ordered the carne asada fries, carne asada torta, tacos, and a chicken asada/bean and rice bowl, along with an agave slushy that was delicious. The carne asada fries were really good--loaded with guacamole, sour cream, salsa, and cheese. The only small issue was that the cheese wasn't fully melted on the bottom, but the flavor overall was excellent. The torta was soft, buttery, hearty, and very satisfying. Portions were generous--my friend couldn't finish her chicken bowl because it was a lot of food. They also served chips and salsa, which was a nice touch. Service was quick, the staff were friendly, and although seating inside is limited, it was enough for the time we went (around 3 PM). Many people were ordering takeout. They mentioned their liquor license should be coming soon. The birria tacos were crunchy and filling. My fave item. Dip in the consome and dang its soooo good!! Lime is a must. Overall, it was a great experience--good food, generous portions, and very reasonable prices. Staff was always attentive. :)

Order through doordash , I was a 15 min early but staff was friendly and accommodating ! Order their birria tacos that came with consome and garnish ! Each taco was generous with meat on the leaner side which I didn't mind but would love to see more cheese and tortillas could of be more crispy which I pan fried again once I got home

Yasssss!!!! A to go order done to perfection with all our modifications. Stopped in for some carne asada and quesabirria tacos, side of rice and beans, a torta and those wonder cheese jalapenos. Plus one Jarritos to go. Everything was perfect!

The ambiance of this place is really nice and peaceful, you walk in and they take your order to the right, while if you walk straight there's a bar you can sit at to enjoy a drink. They have a small selection of beer on tap as well. Service is friendly and welcoming, made sure to repeat our order back to us. The interior decor is really nice, this place seems great to have lunch or catch up with a friend. We ordered super burritos Taste: 10/10 Expectations: 8/10 it said on the menu if you upgrade to super you would get sour cream and fried cheese - we had fried cheese but no sour cream Asada street tacos (regular) These were delicious The sauce here is awesome. Would definitely come back.

Overall this is a decently priced and tasty new spot in Elk Grove. I had some complications with ordering online but I'm hopeful it may just be due to it being a newer location. My friend and I placed an order a few hours ahead, for pick up between 7:10-7:20. I then got a text 30 minutes later saying my food was being made and would be ready by 5:40. When I tried to call the restaurant there was a lot of confusion in the communication. After talking with two employees they agreed to print the order for the original pick up time. I arrived to the location at 7:10 but our orders weren't ready until 7:35. Although it was quite a wait our food was fresh and the burrito portions were satisfying. I'd like to dine in next time and see what that experience is like.

Wanted to check out this new Mexican restaurant near me. I was surprised they were so busy even at an off hour, around 4PM. You order at the counter, to the right of where you enter, and they'll give you a number. The quesabirria tacos were very good/flavorful and served with dipping sauce. I thought the Torta was just so-so; I wouldn't order it again. There isn't a salsa bar (which I always find disappointing when there is any one, since I love salsa). Interior is dark and tables are spaced somewhat close together. Overall, I liked it but it's a bit pricey when compared to other Mexican places in the Sac area.

This place was new to us and we quickly discovered the staff friendly and helpful. This restaurant is nicely appointed with lots of seats and tables. Although we only had breakfast burritos, the menu offers many traditional Mexican dishes. Our breakfast burritos were plentiful and full of flavor. Feel free to ad their salsa to step it up a notch. We'll definitely be back to try other items and maybe take advantage of the bar.

Ever since Tequileros Taquueria has opened in Elk Grove I have become a BIG fan of this place. After 5 consecutive weekly visits I can comfortably say these are my favorite taqueria tacos. I get one each of asada, chicken and pastor,,which all are equally delicious. The meat is tender, seasoned well and they taste great! You can order them with mild or spicy salsa and they are served with a few grilled sweet onion slices, along with a lemon or lime wedge. Unfortunately no tequila based margaritas here but they do have a wine based mango slushy and a variety of beers. Plus Jarritos bottled sodas and along with a soda fountain The servers and cashiers all seem to be young ladies who are normally friendly and helpful. My new neighborhood taqueria for tacos!

Late post but still a new quick service restaurant in EG however, I have tried food from their food truck. Talked with one of the managers and apparently they have several restaurants in Sac. This restaurant is cozy, clean and modern. May not be ideal for large groups. But they have a bar and at the time, I believe they only had wine and beer. They are open til 10pm...so if ever you're in EG with a late night craving for mexican food, make note. Staff was helpful and friendly. I'll return when they opened up their full menu, full bar, and I can do another review. For what they are offering on their menu, is worth trying.

Just opened last week so i took the wife to try it on a Tuesday evening. It's in a strip mall and took the spot of the old Pho Lotus, which has been closed for sometime now. I found a spot just to the side of the business. The place is set up with the ordering counter as you walk in to the right. You order your food to go or dine in. We were dinning in so they give you a number stand to take to your table. Just in front of us was the bar. It had about 6 seats and looked like rows of champagne. They had a few different specialty drinks to get but I didn't have anything today. When we came in there were two people in front of us waiting to order. So not bad but we were in there around 3:40PM. I was worried about the cilantro situation. My wife hates the taste of Cilantro so it really ruins the food for her. Here there is cilantro in almost everything. It is in the salsa, the avocado mix and more so I was not even going to stay here. The worker said that the fish tacos don't have cilantro. The quesadilla could have the sauce on the side. My wife thought this would work. How ever when the asada quesadilla came it had almost no cheese on it and only meat. If there was more cheese on it she would of liked it better. Oh well this place is not for her. The Fish tacos were pretty good and we liked them a lot. They were $9 for two tacos. I got the Quesabirria tacos. I really enjoyed them and the meat had great flavor and the dipping sauce was good. I would get them again. If was so juicy and a real mess eating it. The napkins here were really thin. Not much help I wish they were thicker. I would probably come back but not with my wife. It was ok but it think the food is a little over priced and I can get the same stuff at other places. The service here is really good. The guy who brought out our food checked on us twice , really nice. It wasn't busy at all during our time there which was nice from the chaos the opening weekend, just a few days before.

I enjoyed the food from Tequileros when I tried their food truck, so I wasn't expecting anything much different besides having an actual table to sit at. They picked a great spot for their new brick and mortar though. There are plenty of tables inside and even some outside, but we went on a Friday for dinner and the place was definitely packed! It's fast casual style, so you order at the counter before you sit down. It may have been better if they switched the front counter and the bar locations because the counter area gets really crowded when there is a line, and it can get confusing with the people who are just standing waiting for a takeout order. Our food came out pretty quickly despite being pretty busy! I loved the mild green salsa on my loaded carne asada fries. My husband appreciated that they did their breakfast burritos all day long! They had tons of staff working, and they checked on us multiple times even though this isn't a table service restaurant. Really great service, and hopefully it'll stay that way even past grand opening!

My food was good. I ordered the lobster and fish tacos and my fiancé ordered the surf and turf tacos. Both were good and full of flavor. It was served al la carte. Rice and beans sold separately or you have to ask for it. They also only offer beer and wine at the moment. My friends drank white claws and I had the mango wine slushy which was good and I appreciated the Tajín on the rim. There isn't any tequila or liquor yet so ask about that if your thinking of getting cocktails . The service was good and attentive. Our server was nice and made sure to check on us.

I'm so glad they have a physical spot now instead of their food truck. It's located next to Golden1 and there's plenty of parking. It looks like a nice spot actually dine in. I'm a busy person, so I usually order take out, but I'm glad I now have the option to eat in. I ordered Carne Asada Fries and of course it was good! I kind of wish the fries were a bit more crispy, because the toppings make the fries a bit soggy. But the flavor is all there! All very good! The ladies working the front were very friendly. As soon as I walked in, they greeted me and asked how they can help. I let the know that I ordered through DoorDash, but I may be a bit early. They said no problem and they would check on it. Literally 2 minutes pass, and she came out from the back and gave me my order. Perfect timing! Can't wait to be back for my Mexican food fix.

Honestly, it was 10/10...even after sitting out and getting cold! They served honey walnut shrimp, egg rolls, garlic noodles, and chicken, and everything was delicious. So much so, I had to ask them where they catered from! I recently stopped in because I've been on a seafood boil kick, and I'm so glad I did. Molly was our waitress, and she was amazing...super friendly, attentive, and very helpful with questions about the menu. She even told us about their Thursday karaoke nights. We ordered the seafood boil with shrimp and mussels in the Fusion sauce, mild spice level. The sauce was incredible! It had so much flavor without being overpowering. Next time, I'll definitely be trying medium spice. We also ordered the egg rolls, which were crispy, delicious, and served with lettuce wraps that made them even better. The sauce was sweet and salty. Great combo. The raw oysters were fresh, the garlic noodles were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and every dish we tried was excellent. The restaurant was clean, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was fun with sports games playing on tvs in the restaurant. The calamari was standard. Cooked well. Not overly oily. Loved that it had bell peppers incorporated. Great food, great service, and a great experience overall. We will definitely be back!

I came across edamame under appetizers. Based on the description, I ordered it. I love me some spicy edamame, especially when it's seasoned very well. I got my order to go, got home and when I opened the edamame, it was not what I expected. It was sitting in liquid. The description of the edamame under appetizers says nothing about it being in any kind of liquid or sauce. So I revisited the establishment tonight, which is Friday (the next day). I explained to the employee taking my order what I expected based on the description on the menu and what I got. I even showed her pictures. She said she's never seen edamame made that way (not in sauce) even though there's a picture of it being made that way under their Yelp profile. There was no attempt to rectify the situation so I left it be but it is a bit disheartening to order something with a specific description, then you get home and your order is not what you thought it would be and then there is no recourse provided. Based on this experience, my tip for future patrons is to ensure you get clarification on an item if you are trying it for the first time because it might not come in the same way it is described on the menu. I've been in contact with some very personable employees here who are amazing when it comes to customer service so I will definitely be back. And that salt and pepper shrimp has me in a chokehold LOL. I just wasn't a fan of this experience. But I do recommend this restaurant. Great food, great drinks and great staff!!
