We started with zucchini blossoms filled with cheese that was fantastic, nice and crunchy and creamy, with some calamari, very well done, not heavy at all, some prosciutto and burrata thats is always a great choice and caprese salad. I have been eating in this place many times since I live close. Their dishes reminds me the foods I had in Napoli/Italy. Very authentic Italian food and lay back, simple , but cosy atmosphere. My friends and I decided to come here for a nice dinner, and found this place off a quick Google search. Terroni is located in a corner near Fairfax so parking is hard, I would recommend Uber or Lyft if you can. The service was pretty good, though when asked to change something from the menu, the server kind of rudely rejected our request, which to me seemed a bit strange. FOOD: Squash blossoms (5/5) - This appetizer might be my favorite plate of the night. The blossoms were perfectly crispy and the filling was creamy, which was a nice contrast to the fried flowers. I also enjoyed the concept of cooked mini zucchini and tomatoes scattered on the plate. Mangiabbun pizza (3.5/5) - This pizza was fine, and I thought the concept of rapini was interesting. The pizza wasn't salty enough though and was bitter from the greens. Tagliatelle al Ragu (5/5) - A classic dish, and made very well. The pasta tasted fresh and homemade, and the sauce was tasty with some Parmesan. Terroni has become my go-to for dining out and ordering in. The pizza, fabulous. The appetizers, mouth watering. But the thing that keeps me coming back is the spaghetti al limone. The best past I've ever had in my entire life. This is what I think about when I'm falling asleep at night. If I were about to be executed, I would ask for the spaghetti al limone as my last meal. Terroni is a neighborhood gem that offers a lovely atmosphere and food that captures the essence of traditional Italian flavors. The food is very, very good and often wonderful. The restaurants high standards and consistently high quality of the food over the years, is probably the reason for it's longevity. My favorites are the zucchini blossoms, the maccheroncini with dandelion, Tagliolini in Canna a Mare, and spaghetti with anchovies and cherry tomatoes. Linguine alla Vongole is popular but I prefer my own, so I rarely order it. It's worth noting that a few undeservedly low ratings may be (mostly) due to customers who misunderstand the restaurant's offerings or have compared it to chains like Olive Garden who are only too happy to help you drown your pasta in marinara and cheese. If you get a plate of calamari with only a slice of lemon, to me that signals a restaurants confidence in the quality of the fish. I've been here twice - once for dinner and once for lunch. Do not come during dinner/busier times without a reservation because 1. You will wait for a long time 2. Service will be very very slow I did enjoy my meal during lunch when I came here right at 11:30 when they had just opened. We were the only customers so we didn't have to worry about slow service, but our server wasn't as attentive because I think she was doing double duty as a bartender. Maybe the restaurant just needs more staffing? Moving on to the food, The pizza's are great!! I've had the Ct mang (which I prefer) and also the prosciutto pizza!! It is just very annoying because they don't cut the pizza so you're spending the first few minutes trying to slice the pizza before you can start digging in. This is where my hangry level starts to go up and is also the reason why I can't give them a 5 star review. The calamari doesn't come with marinara and you can't ask for a side either... they have some odd rules smh. But the calamari was pretty good. I used to go to the downtown Los Angeles branch all the time, and was very sad when it closed down. Today I made the trek to the Beverly location, and it was well worth it! The olive oil is grassy and rich, the bread melts in your mouth, and the pepperoncini picante divinely spicy. And I haven't even gotten to the main dishes yet! My partner and I are vegetarians, so ordered the marinara pizza, funghi assoluti, and involtini di melanzane. All delicious. The staff here are painfully unhelpful, even on a large bill. We were a party of 10, ordered many bottles of wine and cocktails, they brought a birthday scoop of ice cream which we thought was sweet until they charged us for the unrequested item (our birthday guest doesn't eat ice cream so it was definitely not requested.) Yes, there was a $5 charge specifically for the CANDLE! We also missed the part of the menu that stated Sicilian pizzas come unsliced (odd since in Sicily you can absolutely order a slice of pizza,) and kindly asked for it to be sliced and were told they would not accommodate such a request; we were told that communally picking at the dish with forks was the appropriate dining method. I understand delivering a dish in a culturally appropriate manner, but we also tried asking for a better cutting knife or scissors or a slicer so we could cut it ourselves, and were denied the request. I asked to have the $26 pizza removed from our$1300 bill and they refused. It takes a lot for a restaurant to last 10+ years and still project a deep and clear love for what they do, so I take my cappello off to Terroni. In all the years I lived nearby, I never made my way in. It always looked too busy. Being a little slow on the uptake, I finally came by for Happy Hour. It was indeed Happy, and the it was also a Monday, so the crowd wasn't too crazy. This place is unique. It's warm and welcoming and kinda slick all at the same time. Terroni is full of unique, confident statements. They have a pretty fierce sense of sense, you might say. For example, as they mention on their menu, when you order the grilled calamari (which you totally should because it's light, flavorful, and very satisfying), it comes with just lemon. Don't ask for a red sauce for dipping. Ain't gonna happen. You will survive - and you might even taste the calamari better anyway. I loved it. The wines by the glass work just fine, btw. Again, don't be looking for all the usual suspects on their Wine List, but do trust that they know what they're doing. I enjoyed a nice white; the Happy Hour special. I tasted it first, and that only confirmed what I suspected I would like - based on my brief chat with the bartender. Other appetizers enjoyed at the bar: The Meatballs! Soooo good. Three good-sized guys sit in a marinara sauce with perfectly grilled toasted bread. Moist and flavorful. Yum. Also, a shout out for the Artichokes. These may have been a Special, since I don't see them on the menu now, but they're lighted grilled - the stem and the heart. Perfectly cooked, with that great Mediterranean flavor of olive oil, a bit of salt and pepper. Also tried one of their small pizzas - must try one. The dough has the proper chewiness, and just enough 'char' on the sides. There are SO many pizzas to choose from. Get creative, or go simple. And if you like spice - definitely request the spicy red peppers. They are so good, and so well-liked, that Terroni sells them in two different jars to go. (I bought the small one which will probably last me awhile.) The music is good, not too loud. The lights are a moderate level of relaxation. It all fits. IN-EDIBLE. Was there last weekend for dinner and my chicken milanese was BURNT on the bottom. Not a little brown, or a little extra well-done, it was BURNT, and the entire thing tasted bitter. The chicken itself had a rubbery membrane around it (under the breading), so does that mean it's been sitting around too long, or was that a result of the food being burnt? Either way, two bites was all I could muster. My friend had a dish that he was not allowed to have parmesan grated onto because apparently that isn't how it would be served in Italy. I mean, I kind of get the obnoxious menu notice that are no substitutions allowed, but to not let someone have parmesan because of some self-important chef says they don't do it that way in Italy is ridiculous. I can't imagine they serve burnt chicken either, but here we are. Kind of shocking actually - who doesn't know how to properly cook chicken milanese? One of the most fool-proof and common dishes there are. Obviously will not return. read more

Does not live up to it's hype, and the portion size is rediculously small though well presented. Get pizza here instead of entrees if you're expecting a full meal here. Portion sizes were really small. If you're a walk in without reservation expect the hosting staff to be mildy rude to you without giving you adequate time for the waits. There were over 10 tables empty on reserve while attending and the wait was said to be 25-30 when it really was close to an hour. This restaurant needs re-education when it comes to treating customers and how it allocates tables to walk-ins ratios. The price to food quality standards is very off, while a dinner for two with small portion plates and sparkling water will run you an easy $60 here to meet other competitors standards you will spend in upwards of $80 to possibly $100 here with a glass of wine and tip. Overall if you are looking for that authentic typical L.A. mentality snot this place WINS an award. I was stunned at how we were discarded to the side when a reservation wasn't placed, and how they didn't keep tabs on us, and escorted patrons that were there with reservations up to 30 mins late. I asked how long do you keep patrons with reservations they stated 30 mins after the time stated. WOW! really. how do you have patrons? This is crazy. It's tempting to return to this place with a reservation and see if the same experience would be improved? Overall I couldn't believe the nerve of the staff and how offsetting it put me and my wife when we are locals in the area as well, walkable for us actually. Between the small portions, commanding higher prices, and hosting staff of highschool, and embarrassingly horrible organization between walk ins to reservations I doubt we'd be back. It's restaurants like this that when discarding a Yelp Elite, they deserve to be put on blast for how unprofessional the experience is. Not only is it the food you serve but the overall experience of how you treat the people that spend money there. Perhaps this is a place for wandering tourists searching for food and restaurants to experience LA and the area but note not only will you get the food but you get the LA snot as well. The only downside is that they dont have much of a vegetarian menu and will not change anything on their menu to apparently stay true to the Italian way of doing things. We've been to Italy many, many times and the hospitality at restaurants in Italy is amazing and they will go above and beyond to make sure vegetarians have a good experience. So I ended up with another pizza (C't Mang) on my second visit, but finally had a chance to try their Spaghetti al Limone on my third. Damn, this was worth it! Lemon sauce was not overly tart, I've always been a fan of capers, and the cheese mixed perfectly with the pasta. If you order this, you certainly made the right choice. I will say this is a dish best enjoyed while actually at Terroni's; I had this to go and although I can say I liked it, it definitely holds up better while on the premises. Their duck prosciutto is to die for. I get excited prepping the crispy bread, the ricotta cheese, spinach, and duck prosciutto. Everything melts together with the cheese and savory meat. Their beet and arugula salad is light and very summer. The goat cheese melts with every bite and it's not strongly scented like blue cheese. My salad looked beautiful like sushi or fresh salmon. I love this! Their clam linguine was alright. The noodles are good but all stuck in one big bundle. It was tough to split pasta or scoop it into my plate. The clams are so tiny, smaller than usual. It must've been baby clams. Service was good except one moment we had a little food left and they cleared it without asking. They are quick with changing plates and attentive. The food did remind me a little of Italy in that these simple dishes brought out natural flavors and not excessive with oils and spices. All their dishes feel light and not heavy. I'd like to start by saying, I don't really write yelp reviews for anything ever. It would have to be a remarkably bad experience or a terrific experience in order for me to take note to the point that I felt it necessary to go online and tell people about it... but I digress. So, I will go back to the middle of last week when I ordered Terroni's Maccheroni Geppetto via DoorDash. My hopes for it weren't through the roof because while the photos looked great on the app, the 3.5 stars on yelp weren't inspiring a whole lot of confidence, however I love pasta, so I gave it a go. It was excellent; so good in fact, that I decided to go in person last night to try it out. I arrived around 7:30 and sat at the bar solo. I'm not drinking right now, so I just got a water and ordered the Tagliatelle Al Ragu- superb. I mean guys, pasta sounds easy enough to not screw up, but you'd be surprised how many places don't get it right. There's another place in this area that I won't name, but they are considered one of the best Italian restaurants in the Beverly Hills/Weho area... It was pasta swimming in a never ending sea of sauce... No good. Anyway, back to Terroni... The Tagliatelle was cooked to a perfect al dente, the sauce was savory, rich and evenly distributed (not a drop went to waste), and the light dusting of parmigiano was the chef's kiss. I consider myself a bolognese connoisseur, and even by my standards it was fantastic. After I cleaned my plate, I decided to order myself a dessert. I asked for a couple recommendations and eventually I settled on their version of what what is essentially a flourless chocolate lava cake with a white chocolate ganache and a scoop of fresh gelato. Also excellent. I mean, "OMG every bite is better than the next, someone stop me from ordering another one, this is SOO GOOD I hope it never ends, heaven in my MF mouth" good. Bravissimo! On to the bar staff. I have to applaud whoever the two bartenders were that were working last night (Saturday the 22nd), they were terrific (5'6-5'7 Blonde guy with a mustache and a 5'7-5'8 brunette girl). They were both courteous and patient yet cognizant and attentive, constantly making sure that the needs of their patrons were being met at all times. I think the kitchen might have initially forgotten to make my dessert or someone prematurely stabbed the ticket or whatever because it was taking a while for it to come out but without me even saying a word (I don't complain or make a fuss about anything EVER unless there's glass in my food or something else egregious NO MATTER WHAT), They both noticed that I hadn't gotten my cake yet and the gentleman went back to the kitchen in the middle of a very busy shift to ensure that the kitchen had gotten the ticket and was preparing my dessert while the lady took the time to reassure me that he was looking into it. If you're not from LA, $38 for a plate of pasta and a piece of cake might sound like a lot to you, but if you live here, that's honestly nothing. I would say that for what you get, the prices are extremely reasonable. Also... I want to mention that there's a 4% back-of-house fee (it was called a "dining-in fee on their receipts I believe). If you have a problem with the people on the line who are literally the hardest working people in any restaurant getting a 4% bump when they are typically hourly employees that don't usually get tips, then F*** ***!!! There's an Olive Garden in Burbank with your name on it, you cheap clown. In summation, this place is awesome. Go now. I can vouch for the chocolate cake, the taglietelle, and the maccheroni. I'm literally going back in about 45 minutes to try the seafood pasta. I am going to come here at least once a week if not more from here on out. If you're located in the Beverly Hills/West Hollywood/Grove neck of the woods, this is a perfect spot for you. Excellent for dates, excellent for birthdays, or if you're like me and you just want to treat yourself to a delicious Italian meal after a long day... GO GO GO! P.S.- While I'm currently not drinking alcohol, these guys clearly know what they are doing in that department as well, if you're an espresso martini fan, this guy made one last night that looked award winning, as well as a host of other craft cocktails that I will be diving into head first after I fall off the wagon again.
