Food is just OK. This is one of the few places open late night which is why we went. The arancini balls tasted like unseasoned white rice deep fried. There was a small scrap of lobster inside, no taste at all. Fried calamari was good. Sangria was a waste of money. Tasted like fruit juice with way too much ice. Moscow mule was pretty good. They use a local ginger beer that kicks it up a notch. The tacos were just okay, nothing special. Dessert was the highlight. We got blueberry pie that was pretty good. read more

The service was so so for a Sunday lunch. I ordered a vodka lemonade with blueberry. It tasted like lemon water very bland. Not impressed at all. For lunch I had the soup, salad & sandwich. The soup was a roasted tomato basil that had a robust flavor. The grilled cheese was nothing special American on white. The salad was a little carrot heavy & served w/ a raspberry vinaigrette that had zero flavor. Everything tasted fine just nothing special. Hubby had a burger which he liked. The winner of our lunch was the great view of the harbor. This place was just okay. We were seated upstairs and it was really hot. Our server was nice but a little too sassy and very slow. I ordered clam chowder and grilled cheese and my husband had the shrimp po' boy. Both were just okay. My biggest complaint was that there wasn't a changing table in any of the bathrooms. My friends had fish tacos, fish and chips and we ended with creme brûlée. Everything was delicious! Armando was our waiter. He was so polite and very helpful with food choices. This Resterant has amazing food, especially if you want to experience the daily fresh seafood of Maine! The location is great you can see the ocean and breath the coastal air as you're dining. Unbelievable food! I'm not a tourist and live in Maine. Southern Maine at that, and this was by far the best seafood I have ever had! We also had a burger which was even better dipped in Blueberry Sweet Thai Chili Sauce which actually came with the shrimp but we were told to save the remainder to dip ANYTHING else that we ordered in it! The online check in was super convenient as we prepared to head out for dinner. It was a gorgeous evening so we sat outside. Our sever seemed overwhelmed and didn't greet us for almost 15 minutes. Our appetizer came out before our drinks, which ended up being brought by the bartender himself because they'd sat there so long. My blueberry martini was delicious and my husbands old fashioned was also. We'd have ordered another round had we seen her before plates were cleared. Other tables seemed to have more consistent service so it's possible she was just learning the ropes or having an off night. read more

I went to Testa's with my mom and her friend for lunch today and had a wonderful experience. The food was great, we had oysters, the superfood salad and the haddock sandwich and a bottle of sparkling rose. Our server, an absolutely lovely woman named Renee was fantastic. She was so kind, warm and accommodating, truly one of the best servers any of us had ever had and she deserves recognition. My husband and I went here for brunch. They had seats upstairs available or we could sit at the bar downstairs. I have a hard time with stairs, so opted for the bar. They had a thriving pick up service for those who didn't want to eat in and a fully stocked bar. My husband ordered Eggs Benedict and I ordered a spinach, ham and Swiss omelet. My husband had tea, which came in a teapot, and I had an ice coffee. I commented to my husband that I would not mind a shot of Frangellico in my coffee but did not see it on the liquor racks. The server overheard me and pulled up the bottle to show me it. Both of our meals were cooked to perfection and delicious. If you're ever in Bar Harbor, check them out! read more

The server clearing the steak and manager and owner sifting through the garbage and watching security videos claiming you ate the steak, meanwhile all your fellow customers saw how foul and inedible your meal was and suffered themselves. I have no problem w a bad steak here and there - but the lack of respect for customer service was above and beyond. Went here for an anniversary lunch while in town. The food was not good at all. My fiancé got the smokehouse burger and it had no taste and was burnt on the edges. The only taste to the burger was the bacon that came on it. I ordered the lobster tacos and the lobster was chewy and tasteless. Not only that but it only comes with 2 small tacos NO sides. The food was really good for all six of us (surprised us actually). We went to another restaurant first that had better review and found that it would be a 40-min wait so we decided to walk around. We walked into Testa's because it had a more variety of food (not just seafood) to accommodate all of us. We had the ribeye, lamp chops (it's actually lamp racks), shrimp scampi, and the pork belly ribs. They were all really good!!!! ...so much better than we expected as the review was just average and the restaurant wasn't busy. Ribeye was flavorful and juicy, lamp chops/racks were very tasty, shrimp scampi was very refreshing (not the creamy style; but DO ASK for less garlic... they put a ton!), the pork ribs were sooooo good (so tender and flavorful; it does have some fat since it's pork belly, we loved it but some people may prefer less fat, it's easy to scrape it off if you want). Please do not take this lightly, I NEVER leave reviews for restaurants, so this means a lot . Testa's went above and beyond and impressed every single member of our family. While on vacation, we were looking for a late dinner and called about 10 minutes ahead to request a table for 9, we let them know it was our dad's birthday, and we wanted to set up some decorations. As soon as we arrived, every member of the staff was so accommodating and friendly, and our server was an absolute sweetheart. They sat us in a closed section so we had plenty of space. We stayed a half hour past their closing time, and they still treated us with nothing but the utmost kindness. They brought out a birthday dessert on the house for my dad. And on top of everything else, they had the most reasonable prices for the most delicious food and cocktails that we had experienced in all of Bar Harbor! I highly recommend! Good and service were good but not great and prices were reasonable for the area except for wine which was a total rip-off. The bottle of Kendall Jackson for sale for $15 next door at the liquor store was $60. The machine you use to pay started with a 20% tip with no choice for a custom tip that I could see. Wonderful experience! We arrived around 6 on a Friday without a reservation and were seated immediately. Our waiter was fantastic. I can't remember his name but he had a blonde faux hawk. It was clearly busy but he answered all of our questions and had great recommendations. The server was new, but just didn't know anything about the menu, which should've been concerning as there's not much to it. Being that it wasn't busy we thought we were ok. We weren't. The server came over and apologized saying the kitchen was a mess and our food would be out soon. When it came out, I got the filet ends that they rave about. I would not rave about them. They came out cold. The potatoes tasted like they just added water, which was a shame because they didn't add enough. The gravy was cold and like a mush. It was just sad. Then my wife's salad, she asked for dressing on side. Salad came out, again late and dressing on top. We asked to send it back and bring it on side, the server was appalled. I'm sorry. This place is not at all what we expected. It was a shame it was our last dinner in Bar Harbor. Very disappointed. I really enjoyed this restaurant. The music was soft and the restaurant was very comfortable and quiet. Maybe I lucked out since it was a Sunday and the tourist crowd had already left, but this is the place I would want to wake up early and drink a nice cup of coffee while looking outside and people watching. read more

One of the worst meals I've had in my life. Terrible service and horrible food. The fish in the fish and chips dish had a soggy crust and the fish inside was mushy. The lobster tacos, also fried, was soggy and there was a piece of plastic in the food. We ordered the chowder fries and requested it without bacon (bacon was listed on the menu). They brought it out and we started to eat it then they came over to tell us that they weren't able to remove the bacon because it was in the chowder. Could they not tell us beforehand? We also ordered the oysters Rockefeller. More bacon (not listed on the menu) - the waitress did not know bacon was in either the chowder or the oysters Rockefeller. We asked to substitute fries for chips with the lobster roll. Was brought out with to chips but we were charged for fries. Took forever to correct the bill. Avoid Testa's. There has to be other places to eat in Bar Harbor. read more

My friend and I ate lunch here on 8-15-22. I had the Capt Colie Lobster Roll. It was just horrible, and if I had been paying the bill, I would have returned it to the kitchen. The lobster was not fresh, probably cooked a day or more earlier or frozen, and it was then probably microwaved to make it "warm". There was no flavor and the texture was grainy. I have lived in Maine now over 2 years, and usually no matter where you get lobster, it is fresh and delicious. Bar Harbor is touristy, so although I very rarely write a bad review, I just don't like to see people "taken". The coleslaw was not cold, not crunchy, and not fresh. The potato chips were stale and not crispy at all. If I could give zero stars, I would! Find a different place and read the reviews first. read more
