Texas Road House in Ocala has been open for almost a couple of months (according to staff) This was a first visit for the four of us. The piped out music to the outside waiting area was quite loud as was the music inside (the reason for the 4 stars) Between the loud music, the hustle-bustle of staff and noise of patrons...it is a wee bit too loud BUT...a list of positives includes: 'Call ahead seating' helped us get in quickly and seated in a large comfy booth (nice) The bar service is slow BUT...they made my old fashions correctly and their drinks are reasonably priced. Our food was perfect as was our service from Thomas. Our fresh salads and warm from the oven rolls were delightful. I wanted home-style mashed potatoes with gravy so badly that I ordered to go and went to pick up two orders. Bad mistake!!! They were so salty and just too many potato peels to deal with. AWFUL but the quantity of salt was deadly in the potatoes and in the brown and creamy gravy. A total waste of effort, time, gas and money. The last time I will eat their food for sure. The food and service were AMAZING! I went there with my husband for my birthday and I really had a good time. There were managers on the floor always looking after us and one of the managers, who was Anthony if I'm not mistaken, actually took care of us. We went to the Ocala Sw College Road location about a week ago. Initially the visit did not start well at all!! I was inside waiting are after putting our name on the waiting list. I noticed an employee sanitation issue and decided that we were going to leave, as I turned to leave I said to the ladies at the host station I was leaving once I turned to walk-away some rudely and sarcastically "bye". Normally I just keep walking. However I needed to address it and ask that I speak to the manager on duty. So from this point I was going to speak to them about both issues. This is when "everything" changed! The manger Ciera Pipes came out and I give this young lady HIGH PRAISES!!! She respectfully listen to the issues and was so caring and concerned to make it a better experience. She went far far beyond the call of duty to serve us. She was so pleasant and understanding to talk to. We (I) never look to complain about anything to just get freebies or any special attention and this was certainly not the case. Ciera and our server were EXCELLENT and we appreciated them so very much for turning the negative into a OUTSTANDING positive. I want to recognize and recommend to staff and mangers that Ciera Pipes is a great and outstanding asset to your restaurant and company. Thank you Ciera you're the best! We had a great server. Her name was Brittney. My husband had the salmon and I had the chicken with portobello mushrooms and cheese. We had not been in quite some time and were pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty but it was the service that really made this a great experience. The atmosphere was laid back and it is a great family friendly restaurant. Our family met at the Texas Roadhouse located at 3015 SW 32nd Ave. Ocala, FL . The dinner rolls were warm accompanied by the delicious cinnamon butter. The food was quite tasty, the best part of entire dining experience was our server (Danielle). She made recommendations for us, answered questions we had. I'm from south Florida but visit Ocala regularly for church conferences in the area. I'll admit I'm pretty hesitant eating at restaurants with scores below 4.0 but as I've searched the area, I have come to realize that most places are rated pretty poorly. With that being said, I obviously have been more open to eat at places with bad ratings. My family went to eat at TR today and it did not disappoint. My food was delicious and our waiter, Derk, was the most pleasant person along with his wife who helped us get seated at our table. The manager stopped by our table to make sure everything was going well and she was incredibly nice, as well. Just overall really pleasant servers, staff, and management. I felt to write a positive review just to help bring up the score of this restaurant because it deserves a better rating! I've noticed that most of the negative reviews for places in Ocala had to do with staffing and poor service during the Covid period. I'm realizing how that time frame can really damage other peoples perception of a restaurant... so here I am, writing this 5 star review and encouraging others out there to give it a try. Hopefully it won't disappoint! Note to other patrons and reviewers: have a bit more grace for people working in restaurants. They are real people, with real families at home, real life problems with real emotions to face... take a breather before deciding to freak out on them for something that was most likely out of their control. read more

I've personally never had a bad meal here, I usually get a 6oz sirloin, perfectly medium and so tender, with a big fluffy baked potato and tossed salad (love the boiled egg on it) salad dressings are very good too. The steaks are cooked over an open flame which I love, and I've never had it tough or overcooked. And the price is awesome, $10-11.99! The only drawback is it IS loud, but hey, it's ok! read more

Ten minutes later, and yes, a Saturday night at 5, but 10 minutes later, acknowledged and drink orders taken. My daughter said she could see how filthy it was as it was being brought to the table,,, so most likely that had been noted and ignores, lipstick, fingerprints.... We ordered, salads, entree, and waited, and waited, waiting is the theme of the evening! The salads were ordered, no eggs on either, and regular and cinnamon butter with the rolls, and by the way, it's Saturday night at 5:15 and the steak house has no baked potatoes, very unexceptionable! When the salad wad brought, eggs on one, and no rolls. There was no salt and pepper on the table, when the entrees were brought, by a runner, we asked for the rolls and s/p. Btw, no server came after the order given, the runner brought the rolls, no regular butter, but she didn't take the order, and sorry, no S/p shakers available...so brought in small cups, salt so damp not usable. Daughters steak, a ribeye, was about 2/3 of an inch thick, not medium rare but acceptable, the mashed potatoes were dry, my chicken was good, could have used more sauce especially since the mushroom sauce was the focus of the dish. We never saw our server until we were done with dinner, he went to show us how to pay on the tabletop device and we said we wanted separate checks, well, even though we ate in 2021, can't do that on the machine so we opted for one check, so we could leave, and asked for boxes. We were brought one, asked for a second .....and waited and waited. Since we had paid, the manager came over , how was everything, we said ok, never went into the omg how long do you have to wait to get what you order scenario, and said we were just waiting for a box... 8 minutes later, yes, at that point I looked at my watch, we lest, I put my chicken in the paper that lined the rolls.... Mediocre meal, less that average service and no follow up by anyone..... other chains we can find but will support the locals that care as much as possible. read more

So we had a bad experience at another Texas Roadhouse, but since we received a gift card from a friend, gave this one a chance. Glad we did! Ribs and steak were cooked to perfection! The ribs melted off the bone and the sweet potato with everything on it was like sweet potato pie... Yummmm... The vegetable was broccoli and carrots... Fortunately, I was full, as this was the only disappointing item I had. My beverage of choice was the sangria margarita. The portion was plentiful and lasted through my whole dinner. It was a frozen fruity delight. My husband had the 6oz sirloin and grilled shrimp with loaded mashed potatoes and green beans. Unfortunately, they do not offer a virgin margarita for the designated driver, so he settled for lemonade. This location has been open awhile, so we felt we could finally visit. We arrived at 11 o'clock on a Sunday before the crazy rush. Our server was very friendly and helpful. My husband ordered the ribeye with corn and a sweet potato. I ordered the fillet with green beans and a sweet potato. Our steaks were very well seasoned and tender. The sides were also very tasty. The fresh rolls come with cinnamon butter. The deserts are the norm so we didn't order one. Good service and food. We will be back. read more

I love Texas Roadhouse but this is by far the worst location I've ever been to. We waited literally over 30minutes for our first and only basket of bread. The salad had no croutons and the hostess lied to us and said it would be 30 minutes but then it ended up being 5 minutes. I truly think she lied to try and get us to leave bc when I asked her about it, she got flustered and blamed the computer. Horrible experience. Horrible location. read more

I must have went on a bad day because I actually was not impressed. I absolutely love Texas Roadhouse. I love it so much that we have a Texas Roadhouse badge plaque in our local store in Pennsylvania. With that said I had the 8oz steak and sadly it was the blandest tasting steaks I ever had. I actually had a steak at Denny's that was better tasting. It had no flavor. Even their vegetables didn't taste like they had any seasoning or anything on them. They tasted like they came out of the pot and onto my plate. I've been anxiously waiting for you to open so I would not have to drive to other towns to go to TR however with the way the food tasted the other day, I will not be back. The service has MUCH improved since our last visit. First time we went my husband's steak was burnt to a crisp. That was more than a year ago. Maggie, our waitress, did a wonderful job yesterday (12/31/22). Always checking on us and never forgot a thing. I love your smile. I've been to many of these usually a great dining experience, not this time had to wait half an hour to be seated.... Ok no biggie. As the night went I had to listen to three screaming birthday songs right by my table one of the screaming waiters spilled the other tables drink on me, our server was great but thanks to all the other wait staff goofing off our 7 month pregnant waitress is taking up the slack. So another 45 minutes and our food comes out cold. So another half hour wait. The waitress felt bad but the manager obviously was having too much fun doing the birthday crap and never even acknowledged the problem. Will not return here McDonald's is a better option! read more

Super disappointed in our experience. I ordered the prime rib medium and they brought me out a charred all brown slice. I asked the food runner to return it for a medium. She walked away with it and came right and said "they said this is medium." Like what??? First off, arguing with the customer is problem number one. Problem number two is even the food runner said "I know this isn't medium." I told her to please return it and tell them that if this is their idea of medium then I'll take medium rare. From this point no one ever came back with my replacement. The server walked by and said "did they bring it yet?" Clearly she can see there was no prime rib on my plate. I told her please just take it off the bill because at this point I'm annoyed and over it. Problem 3 was despite our issues, the manager didn't even stop by our table. Manager brought out a steak that was replaced because the said steak was supposed to be rare but was medium at best. When the replacement came out she says nothing slaps it down I cut in to a grey looking steak which was not cooked at all. She then says " it said rare". Cook and management need to be replaced. First time diner at the Ocala location. We had a short wait for a table and from there the prompt service never stopped. Started off with Texas size drafts and margaritas that hit the spot. I had the 10 oz rib eye that was cooked to perfection and practically melted in my mouth. Others in my party enjoyed their entrees as well. SPECIAL SHOUT OUT! This location has opened up in the last month. That said I have been to over 10 different locations and would say I would have never given any of them less than 4 stars. Pam and I went to this location to spend the day eating, drinking, and to watch the Bills game as all of the restaurants I have been to have at least 10 large television in the bar showing all the games. Well big disappointment beautiful bar lot and lots of large televission and not a football game on any of them. lol we were told that the NFL package was just to expensive. Not light and airy as other places. I ordered an 8oz New York Strip with a baked potato. My steak was very dry and they put, what I thought, was 5 lbs of butter. My daughter's meal had awful presentation. Her plate was sloppy and she received her side orders after her meal was done. No one in our party of 4 had their orders 100% correct. We were seated promptly. Forgot silverware, forgot the rolls. Asked for butter and never got it. The cloth napkins smelled rancid.The food took a long time to arrive. We got sirloin steak with grilled onions and mushrooms and it wasn't very flavorful. Everything was cold except the steaks. The ribs were over-cooked. The loaded mashed potatoes and loaded baked potatoes were cold. They looked like they were sitting for awhile and right before they brought them to our table, they put the unmelted cheese and cold bacon on top. The salad and the drinks were ok. This restaurant doesn't compare with the experience we had at the Texas Roadhouse in O'Fallon, IL. They got a 5 star review and the service and food were excellent. read more

They have call ahead seating (no reservations). We had a party of 6. Short wait, about 5 to 7 minutes. Ordered cactus blossom as an appetizer, one kids chicken tenders with fries, two 6 oz sirloins with shrimp and 2 sides each, 20 oz Ft Worth Rib Eye and 2 sides. Great hospitality, fantastic food. We left with happy happy happy with full bellies! This was our first time at this location and we will definitely be back. Its at the top of our favorite list. read more
