Our food did arrive very quickly, the problem is that's the last time our waiter bothered with us. He was far too busy playing with his phone to check on us, notice that our drinks were empty, or even bring our bill long after we'd finished eating. I'm really surprised this place doesn't have a higher rating. While I've never eaten there in person, it's become my new go-to for Thai delivery. It's not the best Thai food I've ever had, but what I've ordered so far has been really good. I'm not usually a fan of ordering Pad Thai, because it's so hit and miss. My biggest complaint is that it's dry or mushy (so mushy that pieces of noodles are stuck together) or lacking flavor. Their Pad Thai is none of those things. It's flavorful, wet (weird word choice I know, but that's a good thing), not overcooked/mushy, has the right amount of nuts/bean sprouts/etc., and the price is right. I'm also a fan of the crab rangoon. It has a good amount of filling, and it's well fried without being overly greasy. I didn't get as excited about the Pad See Ew, but that's ok. I never get excited about Pad See Ew haaa. Our orders have always been hot and on time, and the people we've dealt with have been unfailingly polite. What's not to like? read more

2nd time going there or ordering take out where they either get the order wrong or they just don't listen. Last time we said we wanted a Thai Iced Tea and they gave us someone else's to go order because they forgot that we ordered that drink. Today, we called in an order to pick up, they repeated the order "Tom Gha, Sprimp Fried Rice, Garlic chicken, and string beans." She said "we don't have string beans but we have spicy green beans." Thai Eagle Rox is a haven for Oxy students, as it is affordable and within walking distance of the campus. They have a nice outdoor patio, and it is nicely decorated inside. The service here is meh. The two ladies who are usually taking orders are pretty cold, so just accept it if you're going to be coming here a lot. They do delivery, but coming from the Oxy campus, I found that it was better to just get some exercise and walk down to pick up my food rather than waiting for it to get to me. The delivery can take awhile if you call during peak hours, but the takeout food will be ready within 15 minutes! Some good choices are the roast duck curry (very yummy, but get a side of rice), and the chicken pad thai is also a safe choice. Oxy students voted Thai Eagle Rox's pad thai as the best in the Eagle Rock area, so that's saying something. One dish that I've seen go down in quality over the past few years is the Beef Pad See Ew. It used to be one of my favorite dishes here, but lately something has been up with the beef. Too dry, tough and chewy, almost like it was lightly breaded before going in the stir fry. I've ordered from here a few times and the food is always great. Their Pad Thai is amazing and has become a favorite. I also enjoy the Pineapple Fried Rice. Heads up though, if you get anything flavored mild, it's still pretty hot. One thing that I didn't like was that they were going to charge me a dollar extra to have no ice in my drink. I don't get ice in any of my drinks. I prefer to have them at room temperature. That's a little pricey for no ice. Overall though, a very pleasant experience. The staff has always been kind. This place is ok. I've definitely been to better places. My partner came here for dinner and we ordered Pad Thai and the Moo Dang. Moo Dang wasn't really what we expected. It tasted a little bland. The Pad Thai was good, however. The service was ok. There were times when the waiters didn't even acknowledge me but it's ok. I probably would not come back to dine in. They do have options on their lunch menus that I am interested in tho so maybe I'll just phone my order in to-go. Always a great choice for delivery. Shrimp are great on the pineapple fried rice and the cashews--- yum. They allow you to alternate noodles if you want glass noodles instead. Not the most amazing Thai I've had but very adequate and does the job well. read more

Just ordered from Postmates. They are 3 blocks away from our house. Everything arrived cold. Vegetable steamed dumplings were disgusting. The cabbage tasted like it was turning to Kim Chi or possibly old sweat socks. The chicken Satay was ice cold and had the consistency of rubber. Thai Eagle Rox has been a staple since moving to Eagle Rock/Highland Park three years ago. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Their food is AMAZING! My go to's: Pineapple Chicken Shrimp Rice, literally any of their curry, ragoons, and egg rolls. But my FAVORITE it the Cashew Nut Entre with green tea ice cream for dessert. So, I really want to support this place, but all three of my experiences here have not been great. First, when I ate in at the restaurant, I was the only person there. Service was not good. However, my food was good. But... the two times I have ordered food delivery, they have messed it up. This time, I ordered the curry lunch special. It comes with a salad, an egg roll, and the entre with rice. They didnt bring the salad. So I spent 10 dollars on a stale egg roll and a very very small portion of green curry. I asked for no cilantro in my soup and my lunch special, and there was cilantro in all of it. It isn't hard to NOT add something. Just underwhelmed in all my interactions with this place. I appreciate a decent local neighborhood place, and this one fits it to a tee. Definitely lots of locals who come here, for some merely decent Thai cuisine. If you're mobile, however, there are lots of better Thai restaurants within a 15 minute drive from here. I came here one night to get some food to go, and the restaurant was about half full. Service was slow. I watched my order, in the styrofoam box and ready to go, sit on the counter for 10 minutes and even being shuffled around a couple times. Naturally, I assume it's NOT mine, but then they packed it up and handed it to me. C'mon now, you had people who could have just handed it to me! The pad see ew was just ok... ok seasoning, ok texture, ok recipe. Wish they had charred it some more, with more chewy noodles. The fried dumplings were a waste of time, space, and money. Way flavorless, and where's the meat?? This place is sooo good! I was hesitant to try with the bad ratings. But the food quality is amazing. I love their orange chicken!!! Its not like most traditional orange chicken. It's so light, fluffy and crunchy. It's so addicting to eat. Their appetizer sample is very delicious and well made! And their pad thai is super flavorful! It's not like most thai restaurants. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Only downside is how small the portions are. I usually order thai or chinese for the large quantities of food/ left overs. For starters, I didn't make it to being a customer. I love Thai food, so I would've loved to have tried this place. Cutting to the chase, I'm a delivery driver. I came in to pick up an order for one of Thai Eagle Rox's customers and asked to use the restroom. I was informed by a young man working the counter that they wouldn't allow me to use the restroom because I wasn't a customer. For the record, they had two customers eating dinner that day and there didn't appear to be any tables that had been temporarily abandoned by other customers using the restroom, nor was there anyone waiting outside the restrooms waiting to use them. My only sin was being the guy that was delivering food to their customer. To be fair, he was right. I wasn't a customer. In fact, I was getting paid to deliver the food for their customer. But why be so Draconian with bathroom rules when it comes to delivery drivers who are working hard to get food delivered quickly, efficiently, and as fresh as possible? For my part, like so many others, I worked a "normal" job in the entertainment industry until Covid-19 reared its ugly head. I had bills and rent to pay. I could've opted for financial aid of some sort, but instead I chose to pay my bills and rent by jumping into food delivery which was quite a lucrative gig as a result of the global pandemic. Such is the story of many of the people who bring food to your porch. Delivering food throughout a global pandemic came with its own risks; direct exposure to several people, having to go into environments that were sometimes not well ventilated and crowded (not every business was enforcing social distancing rules), etc. In order to mitigate the likelihood of exposure, I invested in food serving gloves, a serving table for social distancing when delivering food to customers who wanted the food handed to them, and so forth. I did all of this to protect not only myself but those to whom I delivered (some of whom would meet me at their door not wearing a mask). I took every precaution to ensure that people ordering food during a once-in-a-century pandemic would be safe in my presence. I did this for businesses like Thai Eagle Rox. (For the record, despite coming into contact with a lot of people while delivering, I NEVER contracted Covid-19, and therefore never exposed customers of businesses like Thai Eagle Rox to Covid-19.) In enforcing their "restrooms-are-for-customers-only,-no-delivery-drivers-delivering-food-for-our-customers-permitted" with such militant diligence, they may be satisfied that they're running a tight ship. Ever since trying this place, we are now hooked. We have been going here more often that we want to. Hahaha. We usually order their pad Thai (combination), another entree that varies from time to time and mango with sticky rice. So one time we got our order and started eating it and realized that it only consists of tofu. So we had to call their attention and gave us the right order. We have tried their spring roll (its missing something...like mint leaves or basil), fried tofu and grilled garlic salmon. The service is great. The prices are okay. Just a lot of super orange noodles. Mango Sticky Rice: Probably their best dish. Mango was sweet although it could have been cut better. Sticky rice was spot on for flavor, sauce, and consistency. I will give them props for their packing. We got a nice hard plastic box for our pad thai rather than just a typical to-go folding box. In all, this place is pretty average, neighborhood thai food.
