    Jungle noodles

Had an amazing meal here post half marathon run! The service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the vegetarian egg rolls and the jungle noodles, and wow the flavors were on point. The spice level in the noodles was fire in the best way possible - bold, flavorful, and exactly what I hoped for after 13.1 miles. To top of off, I tried their coconut milk- based ice cream, an it might honestly be the best coconut ice cream I've ever had. Super creamy and the perfect cool-down after those noodles.

Drunken noodles were very good, and you would never know they were gluten-free. They had a great grilled flavor. Portion size was generous. Service was good. We ordered a blueberry tea, and it was heavier on the tea side of things. The lemon bar and brownie were also very good. The lemon bar had elements of coconut that we weren't expecting, but it was still good.

This lovely gem of a place serves up delicious food. Started with the shrimp which had a wonderful coconut flavor. The matcha was a creamy delicious drink on a warm day like today. The spicy glass noodle salad was delicious. It's definitely something different than what I would normally get but it was perfectly light but filling - also big portions!

Thai Fresh had interesting and authentic food, we liked the fried mushrooms but wish there was more. We sat outside under the light when it wasn't too hot, and it was a good vibe. We had kind servers and it was a nice dinner!

I tried Thai Fresh on a recommendation with a few friends! I did not realize how big it would be and how many options! We all got different meals and shared family style so we could try each thing! I tried the drunken noodles "Pad Kee Mao" with beef. It was delicious. I thought it would be a bit more spicy but I am sure you can always add spice if you would like! Even though I enjoyed the dish I would get something different next time as they have so many options! One thing that blew me away was the Coconut Soup "Tom Kha". My friend ordered it and it was definitely a favorite of ours! I highly recommend trying it!!

Came back for dinner and it did not disappoint. Loved all of the different flavors in all the dishes we tried. I think they are still working out the kinks in their service, but bear with them, the food is amazing. APPS Curry Rice Balls - 6/10 sauce was good but balls could use a little more curry, kind of bland Golden tofu - 10/10 great flavor and loved the peanut dipping sauce Coconut fried shrimp - 10/10 delicious batter and dipping sauce ENTREES Pad Thai with Chicken - 10/10 loved the heaviness of the fish sauce in this. Is now in my top pad Thais in Austin Yellow Curry - 9/10 very good, exactly what you'd expect Coconut vermicelli - 10/10 WOW. This dish was so incredibly delicious. Would come back soon just for this. And huge portion While you're here you have to go try their dairy free ice cream for dessert. You can order it at your table or walk over to the cafe and get it. It is coconut based but tastes just like regular ice cream. Trust me, I hate coconut based ice cream and this one conquers all.

The servers here are very nice and our food came out pretty fast! I didn't love the Thai basil spritz - but everything else was great. I will also say that the parking here is almost non-existent so be prepared to potentially park on the street.

Pad sea Ew, Pineapple Fried Rice, Thai Basil Agua Fresca

This is quaint, casual restaurant tuck away in a quiet neighborhood near south Lamar. Restaurant parking is limited but you can find plenty street parking near by. We tried pad sea ew, pineapple fried rice and Thai basil fresca. Pad sea ew is seasoned just right combined with perfect chew on flat noodle. Pineapple fried rice is sweet and savory, curry flavor is on point not overpowering. Thai basil fresca reminds me virgin mojito, it's refreshing and exotic. Service is good and attentive. Overall, we enjoy this restaurant and would come back. Only have 4 star because it's kinda pricy for casual Thai restaurant.

Thai Fresh was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. We ordered the chicken and rice and larb, and both were fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we were craving -- light but satisfying. Don't skip the papaya salad combo with the chicken wing. The balance of tangy, spicy, and crispy is spot on and makes for a great add-on to the meal. And of course, the Thai iced tea is a must -- legit, creamy, and refreshing. Simple, well-executed Thai food that always hits the spot. Thai Fresh continues to deliver.

I went to Thai Fresh with my friend, who had just finished with a hair appointment nearby. She suggested meeting at 5:00pm, which worked out well, because it was just in time for Happy Hour. There is a choice of seating: in the dining room for full service or in tbe other room to order at the counter. We chose the latter, making ordering quick and easy. Their Happy Hour menu includes items under "First Bites," or appetizers. I was impressed that a lot of the items were gluten free, perfect for my diet. And they were all reasonably priced. I ordered the Golden Tofu, which consisted of triangles of tofu, dipped in soy sauce, then breaded with golden gluten free flour, turmeric, curry powder, and sea salt. It was served with peanut sauce. It was yummy, and just enough to fill me up before a movie screening. The server was friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant, with customer-created artwork on the walls. I will definitely go back.

Normally, I very much enjoy going to Thai fresh but today was definitely a miss. The portions were extremely small for the price and just to add one vegetable was two extra dollars for such little portion, both meals, including the vegetarian one tasted very meaty as though they cooked it in a pan with beef. I want to give this place another chance, but recently the quality of their food has really been going downhill!

After landing in San Antonio yesterday to kick off my summer vacation, the very first thing I did…read moretoday was ask my friend to bring me back to this restaurant. The reason is simple: we ate here two years ago, and it left such a great impression on us that we had been looking forward to coming back ever since. Fortunately, not much has changed in terms of either the quality or the overall presentation of the food. Everything is still delicious, especially the Pho Combo. To be honest, it's far better than most of the pho we've had in Germany. That doesn't mean the pho in Germany is bad--it simply means this place matches my personal taste much better. As for the downsides, they're almost exactly the same as before. Parking is still a major challenge, and I understand that's probably not something the restaurant can easily fix. We also tried calling ahead to reserve a table, but they don't take reservations, whether you're coming with a group of 5-7 people or just 2-3 people. We arrived at 6:45 PM and still had to wait about 40 minutes before being seated, which was honestly quite inconvenient. Coincidentally, there was live music tonight, which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately, the sound system wasn't very good, so it was difficult to hear what the singers were performing. Then again, this isn't really the type of venue where people come specifically to enjoy live music, so most diners didn't seem to pay much attention to it. One thing I did notice was that either the kitchen has made a few changes over the past two years, or perhaps my own taste has changed a little. The food felt slightly saltier than I remembered, and the pho broth was richer and creamier. While that added some depth of flavor, it was a bit too rich for my liking, to the point where finishing the entire bowl of broth felt a little overwhelming. The braised short ribs were incredibly tender--so tender that a knife was almost unnecessary, and they could easily be pulled apart with just a fork. While many people would probably see that as a positive, I actually missed the slightly firmer, meatier texture I remembered from my last visit. That said, these are relatively minor issues. The quality may have dipped just a little compared to our previous visit, but this is still an excellent restaurant. If they can fine-tune those small details, it would easily return to being one of my favorite places. There's a good chance we'll stop by one more time before heading back to Germany.

Is it that time of year for another 1618 update? Absolutely…read more After my umpteenth visit, I think it's safe to say I've worked my way through almost the entire menu (minus a few noodle, chicken & vegetarian dishes). My 2025 review still stands, but after so many visits, I've noticed a few items haven't been good as they used to, particularly the chicken wings (and yes, all three of them). The Garlic Wings haven't been hitting quite the same. They've started to taste a little dry, and the saucier wings taste better the next day since they don't have time to steep through once served. The Filet Mignon Pepper Steak is still my favorite dish on the menu, but I still can't justify ordering it family-style anymore. It's delicious, but the portion just doesn't match the price. One of the newest additions--the Truffle Fried Rice is spectacular. It's light, not overpowering with truffle, and the fish eggs really adds the perfect little pop of texture/flavor. I don't think I breathed the entire time I scarfed it down!! 1618 is still one of my favorite restaurants in Austin of all time, but I think it's time for the menu to elevate a bit and dive deeper into less mainstream Asian cuisine. If anyone can do it, 1618 can.

The restaurant itself has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar. It seems like a nice place to have a meal. Pad see ew with chicken - I liked their version and would probably get it again. Pad woon sen with pork - typically my favorite noodle dish and I think they did a good job. Garden roll - good but not as packed as others I've had, and at a higher price point. Pineapple fried rice with pork - I liked this but was a bit on the oily side. Tom kha soup - I thought this was very good and had a decent amount of chicken and mushrooms Overall I liked everything but some items I felt I had better versions of elsewhere. It's also on the pricier side. Still, if in central Austin I think it's a solid choice for Thai food.
