After 30 yrs in business, they have got their alcohol license! And their drinks look awesome! I was there for lunch and hence didn't order it. Hope to go back for dinner and try it out. I love their friendly staff - always making you feel at home. They have up scaled their decor as well. I like the spicy sauces near the order counter. My fav dishes are eggplant delight and garlic veggies. And their fried chicken is pretty good too.

Pad Thai packed to the brim

3.5 Pretty standard casual Thai restaurant. Their variety isn't as much as other Thai restaurants but they do have some stuff I don't normally see at others... For example the panang nue and the curry delights which are basically the curries with different and imo possibly better veggies. Prices are 10-35% more than some places depending on who you compare against. You can get a pad Thai at other spots for bout 13-18$ but here it's $20. They do pack the Togo box all the way full tho AND they did not skimp out on the protein...my curries both had tons of chicken and beef. Food: Pad Thai- Above average pad Thai. I really enjoyed the flavors. Noodles were solid and decently chewy... I've had stale noodles before which I hate. Garlic fried rice- good and very flavorful but also pretty salty or could be msg. Yellow curry- decent curry. Flavor was just ok I've had better. Tons of chicken though. Panang nue- based on the penang curry. It's similar but not as gritty, nutty, pasty/thick. It was def a bit more watery than I would have liked. There was also quite a bit of oil which I've never seen a penang curry do. I think it could have also used a lil more veggies but it was packed full of beef which is a pro if you're just looking for protein. Overall, decent Thai spot. I wouldn't mind ordering take out from them if I got a deal but I wouldn't make a detour or anything

I will start by saying this is obviously a very cute, family owned restaurant. There's pictures of the family on the menu and a sign it has been there for over 30 years. The server was very helpful in answering all my questions about the menu. But the menu has a strange layout, and it felt a bit overwhelming although not authentic; likely because it's being packaged for a non-Asian audience. We got the yellow chicken curry, pad khing with shrimp, and a Thai iced tea with two sides of rice. The curry was sweet and not that spicy. The pad Khing was heavy on the vegetables, which were crisp and plentiful, and came with about 6 shrimp. It wasn't particularly unique. The rice was just the right amount. It's fine for the atmosphere but not someplace I would go again for more authentic food.

Nice and convenient Thai place to order for to go. I tried ordering directly through them online since they had the lunch combo box, which was not on Door Dash or Uber Eats. However, I had trouble as the payment would not go through. I tried several cards and had other people tried, to conclude that it was not just me. In the end, I ended up calling them right when they open to place my order. It was quick and ready in about 15 minutes. I got the half half rice combo with basil chicken, chicken eggplant, and added a third item for an extra $1, to which I got the panang nue. Meanwhile my friends got an order of the tom yum soup and two pad thais, both which they liked. I liked the combo more since I got a variety of things for almost the same price, if not cheaper than their items. Overall, it was quick and easy. Parking was easy too. Came into the store to pick up and was in and out less than a few minutes.

Visited the restaurant on weekday late lunch at 2pm. We had the pad ped chicken, it's very flavorful but $21 for a small portion is kind of pricey. Red curry $19+$2 steak, we asked for highest spiciness level 4 but it was served as level 1. We even asked for extra chili . Tom Kha coconut soup $19 with mixed seafood +$6. The seafood was fresh and delicious. Overall the food was good but a bit pricey. I was extremely thirsty after the meal, must be the MSG, I am super sensitive to that.

We have been enjoying our favorite Thai delights since before the pandemic. It's always a treat to dine at Thai Poons. The food is amazing and the hospitality is incomparable. I recommend the shrimp appetizer, yellow curry, spicy rice and chow mein level 3 spicy for us but you choose your level. We had our first Thai beer and tea, nice with our dinner. Thank you . We will always come back. The place looks great after remodeling. $77 and we had leftover.

I've only ever gotten takeout from here so I can't comment on the in person service or inside the restaurant but the food is good! Large portions for average Bay Area prices. The curry delights have lots of delicious veggies, more than the average curry. Would recommend for takeout!

I went there Friday around 7:30, not that many people, food get delivered in 20 minutes. It's a pretty small and cozy place. I like the food a lot, definitely will go back.

I can't emphasize enough that this is one of my favorite Thai food spots in the Bay Area! Not only is the food SO delicious, the staff here is extremely friendly and accommodating. I never had my Togo boxes so well packaged and ready so quick! My all time favorite is their Lunch combos. You have the option for two entrees or three entrees. For an extra dollar, I recommend the three entrees so you can try more food (every thing is 10/10 personally). It's similar to Panda Express where you ask them what you want and they put it on a plate for you. I think it's efficient and you can eat right away (great for work lunches and time crunches) My all time favorite dishes are the eggplant delight, the pad ped fried chicken, basil chicken, egg omelette, and the beef red curry! FYI if they ever run low on an item they make it fresh for you. Super hearty, comforting, and delicious. The chicken is well fried and seasoned to perfection. I can't stop raving about this place plus their new remodel is so cute!

Picked up dinner from Thai Spoon and was reminded why I love small, family-run Thai places -- warm smiles, super quick takeout, and food that tastes like someone actually cares. What we ordered: Spicy Fried Rice (Chicken, Hot): Bold, fragrant, great heat. Red Curry (Chicken, Medium): Creamy, cozy, classic comfort. Green Curry (Chicken, Medium): The standout -- bright, aromatic, and incredibly flavorful. Pad Thai (Chicken, Medium): Balanced, fresh, not overly sweet. Everything was delicious, but the Green Curry Chicken was next-level good -- the kind of dish you immediately want again the next day. Friendly service, generous portions, and consistently tasty food ( we went back again the same week). This place deserves way more love. Will definitely be back!

I love this family run restaurant! The food tastes so authentic it reminds me of when I was in Thailand. The basil chicken is one of my favorites. It's been remodelled and has really clean lines and decor. You can choose 2 or 3 items for lunch with either white or brown rice. Then add one of the chili sauces to your liking!

I'm so happy that they are finally open for dine in (They were remodeling their establishment). New interior but same great service and delicious food! THAI - So perfect and delicious PAD THAI - There are different protein options but we always choose prawns and there was a generous amount of prawns - The noodles are cooked to perfection, the perfect bounce and chew (not soggy and mushy like other restaurants) - The flavor is amazing, I usually get it spicy but opt out for non spicy because my daughter wanted to eat this dish too. Thai Spoons is her favorite restaurant for Pad Thai and that says a lot when she specifically asks to eat Pad Thai from Thai Spoons LOL - Peanuts are served on the side in a container CHICKEN LAAB SALAD - The amazing flavors that are incorporated into one dish is just so delicious and refreshing...the lemongrass, mint, scallions, lemon... etc. - We love ordering this and eating it as a side to our other dishes SPICY EGGPLANT (I forgot to take a picture) - I like to add Chicken to this dish - The egg plant and sauce all others with the other veggies is so flavorful. NOW FOR THE BIG STAR OF THIS REVIEW... I'm usually not a fan of mango sticky rice but it turns out, I've been trying out restaurants that didn't have GOOD Mango Sticky Rice. MANGO STICKY RICE - The mangoes that this restaurant always picks are ripped and sweet! Which a is a huge plus. Other restaurants will have mangoes that aren't ripped yet or are semi sour but NOT THAI SPOONS... they only serve carefully selected sweet mangoes. - The coconut cream sauce is delicious and not too sweet since the mangoes are sweet - The sticky rice is perfectly cooked! Soft and a nice chew - You better hurry and get your Mango Sticky Rice from here because some times they run out. Side note: I also love their Tom Kha soup and Green Curry but we did not order on this day. 5 Stars for both their customer service and delicious food!

I'm hesitant with coconut based broths sometimes as it can be too rich (or taste like the stabilizing gums) but this broth was tempered with spices and the perfect balance. Unfortunately the tofu tasted weird - like super sour, as if it had spoiled or something. The crunch noodles on top were wheat based instead of rice based to get the crunch but the flavor was so noticeably "wheat-y" that it didn't mesh well with the other dish flavors. The Thai tea was also diluted and not as strong as usual. But my friends pad kee mao tasted delicious so maybe just stick with the classics. The menu is laid out by geographic regions, which I thought was a really neat way to showcase the many different cuisines. We started with summer rolls and calamari, both of which were excellent. The summer rolls were fresh and bright, with a delicious peanut sauce that was among the best my sister (a self-described "Peanut Sauce Snob") and I had ever had. The large pieces of calamari were expertly cooked, still very tender even after frying. There was a hint of spice in the calamari dipping sauce that I quite enjoyed. For entrees, we got Pad Thai, Pad See You, and Panang Curry -- all favorites we've had many places (despite the many alluring new-to-me options, I admit we all defaulted to known quantities) -- and we were impressed across the board. Everything was flavorful, had just the right amount of spice, and came out steaming hot. We really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this restaurant, which felt lively and friendly. I usually skip writing reviews for places that disappoint me for the first time but after a series of letdowns, I felt compelled to share my opinion. We ordered a variety of dishes all spicy level of heat, including the Panang Braised Beef, Crispy Dragon Ball, Tom Kha Chicken and Shrimp (which came with an extra charge), Beef Pad Kew Mao, and the yellow curry (which was out of stock, which was odd since we ordered our food on a Friday around 6:30 pm). The Tom Kha soup was by far the worst dish we had. It tasted like watered-down coconut water, with the proteins and mushrooms just thrown in. The broth lacked depth and was broken, as seen in the pictures. I was so disappointed that I almost drove back to the restaurant to ask for a refund, but my fiancée didn't want me to seem cheap for doing so. The Crispy Dragon Ball "Salad" was another disappointment. It had no greens other than the cilantro that came with it, so I ended up taking some out and adding it to the Tom Kha soup to try to add some depth and flavor to the broth. The flavor of the dish was great, but they should clearly label it as a warm salad without greens or dressing. The Panang Braised Beef had a bland curry flavor, but the meat was very tender and fell apart easily. Pad Kee Mao, recall the beginning of the review where I mentioned we ordered everything spicy level heat. This dish, however, was utterly inedible. How could you possibly make it so spicy that the noodles would instantly burn your tongue and teeth? I shed a few tears trying to eat it, not wanting to waste my money. The result was a very bland, uninspired Thai taste that lingered in my mouth. The next day, we decided to order Thai food again, but this time from Shana Thai, another Thai restaurant off Moffet Blvd. They never disappoint. The ambiance was average, typical of a regular-sized restaurant. Did not take photos of the curry because it's just a red curry nothing special and the Pad Kee Mao I was just done with the whole experience, basically resigned to the fact that we had wasted our money on shitty over pieced Thai food.
