I visited Thaim in Pasadena for my birthday lunch on a Thursday. The restaurant is bright, clean, and has a cute, welcoming atmosphere. I especially loved the Thai alphabet displayed as part of the décor--it was such a thoughtful touch that made the space feel even more authentic and inviting. They also offer a great lunch special, have a nice wine list, and even provide counter seating for solo diners, which I always appreciate. It was busy during the lunch rush, and you could tell our server was doing her best, but service was unfortunately a bit slow. We also ordered a dish that was supposed to come with an egg, but it was missing. We didn't realize it until we got home, so it didn't seem worth going back over a $2 item. Still, it was a small oversight that reflected the overall service experience that day. The menu is on the smaller side, but the food was enjoyable, and I'd still recommend giving it a try if you're in the Pasadena area. They're still fairly new, so I'd give them some grace as they work through the growing pains.

Basil bowl, wings, & vegan Pad Thai

My husband and I have been here a total of three times now, and it's been great for most of it except for a couple of hiccups. For example, staff should be highly-trained on what ingredients are vegan-friendly because adding chicharron to a Pad Thai does not make it vegan. Hopefully they will be able to work out these kinks as they progress. We love that they can make most of their menu items vegan-friendly for my husband while keeping the menu simple and authentically Thai at the same time. The place is nicely decorated with a pink theme running throughout and it's a great place for a casual sit-down lunch or dinner meal. My goal is to try everthing on the menu and decide what are my favorites for repeat visits. So far, my favorites have been the Basil Bowl with ground pork and fried egg; the larb blended mushroom; the fried chicken wings; and the mango sticky rice slushy. Hopefully they will be able to put Thai boat noodles and mango sticky rice dessert on their menu one day.

Thaim is inventive and authentic! This restaurant pulls out all the stops to deliver a delicious meal and a pleasant dining experience. Every meal was delicious and made with intention! The server also was incredible and not only did a thorough job explaining meal items but handled a busy restaurant on what seemed like his own! The meals had some kick to them, yet they were still so enjoyable. Bringing kids to a restaurant can be hit or miss but we were grateful they had yummy food and yet also enjoyed comfortable seating and a fun experience. Can't wait to come back!

Recently discovered this new and unique thai food spot in Pasadena!! The pad see ew with short rib & pra nakhon salad are a MUST try. This is also the first time I've heard of a place serving thai tea slushy, mango sticky rice slushy, & matcha lava cake!!! Employees were really nice as well.

The smiling staff were more than happy to accommodate my zero spicy-heat palatte. The short rib with rice was super tender and went along beautifully with the diced garlic string beans. So good! Casual but comfortable ambiance. Love that they used green security gates inside the dining room to evoke a street food adventure.

Omg this place is so cute I really love the design / interior design and color scheme this whole place! Our server was nice and kind super helpful and attentive! Menu looked great we were both starving when we arrived so we decided quickly and got our food quickly! Food is amazing!! We ordered the Pad Thai with the braised short ribs wow the meat melted in my mouth! Presentation was great and flavor amazing! We also got Kor Moo Yang with Nam Jim which was also fabulous normally I'm not a huge pork fan but it was very tender! We definitely will come back again! My husband tried the Ube beer with coconut and loved it! It was nice and subtle and sweet.

ThaiM is one of the newest Thai Spots in Old Town Pasadena off of Union Street that brings the Bangkok Street Charm, modern diner aesthesis and elevated Thai Street flavors to the next level. The drink menu is filled with a variety of visually fun and tasty drinks that may cause you ADD such as their Mango Sticky Rice Slushy, Milo Cloud, Red Rimthang Soda or cool down with a Thai Tea Slushy with Coconut Foam. At ThaiM, the menu is intentional to reflect what is in season, what is trending in Bangkok's food scene and balancing between traditional and new favorites. It's an absolute must that a salad has to be part of your meal with vibrant fresh fruits and veggies, crunchy textures and that addictive sweet, spicy and sour Thai tang can be found in many of their salads like the Bangkok Fruit Salad, Sweet Corn Salad, Short Rib Pra Nakhon Salad. The Thai seasoned proteins such as grilled pork jowl, grilled short rib and even the grilled Thai marinated chicken adds an extra layer of deliciousness and compliments the Bangkok Pad Thai Boran and the Midnight Train Fried Rice so well. If you are a fan of exploring new flavors or simply miss that Bangkok vibe with great service, ThaiM is that spot you need to explore right now. Hurry!

I'm happy to report that I was able to catch them while they were open (thank you for updating the hours!) and had a fantastic time! The ambiance was amazing, their interior is cute and trendy. The food was delicious! We split one order of wings and the Bangkok Basil Bowl with ground pork. I got their Thai Tea Slushy and my husband got a few refills of one of their beers. Everything was perfect and the service was amazing, friendly and very attentive! My husband prefers his beer glass cold and thats exactly how they served it for him & he was so impressed as restaurants have rarely serviced him that automatically. We have found our new favorite Thai restaurant! I'm so glad we were able to give them a second chance & it was worth the second attempt. Looking forward to many more meals here!

Very flavorful food and attentive service! Worth a try and I appreciate that their spice levels can be easily adjusted for all dishes. They can do no spice to very spicy easily. I had the salmon pad thai and it was nicely done. A tad salty but plenty of flavor and the portion was pretty big too. Try them out during the soft opening, with 50% off the second drink!

My husband and I spent a beautiful afternoon having lunch at Thaim. This new Thai restaurant is an excellent addition to the Pasadena food scene and serves delicious street food. I have to start my review by saying how absolutely wonderful the service is here. All of the staff are genuinely so kind and warm and just truly go above and beyond to take care of you during your visit. The overall environment is also super cozy and inviting. The food Thaim is serving is spectacular. We ordered a Thai tea slushy, Pad thai with fried tofu and Pad see ew with marinated chicken. We were blown away by everything we had. Both dishes stood out from the usual versions we typically get. The Pad thai was balanced and flavorful with a fresh tanginess, and the fried tofu added great texture and flavor without being too heavy or greasy. The Pad see ew had excellent smoky wok char, and the marinated chicken was tender, well-seasoned, and noticeably more flavorful than typical. These dishes were different in the best ways. I saw criticism that portions are small here, which I would agree that comparatively the portions are smaller than some other places, but the quality of ingredients is truly impressive here. I personally think smaller portions for quality is worth it. The Thai tea slushy was also very delicious. It was thicker than expected, almost like a milk shake, but it was very enjoyable. We really loved every part of our visit to Thaim and will certainly come back to try more!

The food was absolutely delicious, especially the short ribs -- they were so tender and literally melted in my mouth. We ordered Pad thai short rib which my bf said this is the best Pad thai he has ever had, we ordered pra na korn salad, my fav dish latly. restaurant itself was also incredibly cute, giving off a Thai vintage restaurant vibe in Old Town Pasadena. And the service? I'd give it 100 out of 10 without hesitation. I will definitely going back and try other dishes which look so yummy also

I attended it's soft opening in Old Pasadena. The food was excellent. I got their basil bowl with mushroom and vegetables. It was excellent. I'm excited to see how they do in the next few weeks. I did hear their pad Thai was great.
