The service is laid back, friendly and provides that southern charm that it's just too engaging and delightful not to accept and that's even before trying the food. Camile, our server, was attentive, charming and professional. Her friendly deamenor made us feel more like locals than tourists eating our way through Savannah. Food -- *Fried Green Tomatoes - There's always a first time and mine was trying this delicacy. Don't really like regular tomatoes BUT these crispy fried green tomatoes served over a cajun remoulade topped with goat cheese, basil and balsamic was one for the foodie books. *Wings - These mouth watering and tender chicken wings were perfectly flash fried and tossed in buffalo sauce. There are other sauces to choose from -- honey-sriracha, BBQ or lemon pepper. *Black & Blue Burger -- this cooked to perfection, juicy and tender hamburger was absolutely delicious; and when blended with grilled onions, bacon, blue cheese, lettuce and tomato, it was just too good not to eat in its entirety even though I knew that I would probably need to walk a few miles to burn it off....so worth it...! *Tender basket - Hand breaded tenders over french fries can make any kid happy and mine was no exception *Brownie with vanilla ice cream -- The whipped cream was smooth and delicate and the brownie was moist and big enough to share and who can say no to ice cream...just sinfully sweet...! *Bar -- Full bar which is always a plus..! Stopped here on a recent visit to Savannah on a Saturday night. There were only a few diners, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I went with our waitresses' recommendation on the shrimp and grits. It was very tasty with a touch of spice to it. It was also topped with some well seasoned collard greens, which I would have never thought to do that but it worked. Portions were huge, so I couldn't eat it all. My only complaint was that the grits were kind of clumpy, so I had to mash them up with the gravy. I also didn't care for the uncooked tomatoes in the dish. If they can perfect the creaminess of the grits, they will be on to something. Very nice dining area and sports bar. I also had a passion fruit daiquiri, which was actually more like a martini, that was pretty good. read more

Wow! I love a good salad and this salad was delicious. The red leaf lettuce really caught my eyes as it is one of my favs. First time trying goat cheese and I am not a big fan of it. We ordered the french toast and the habersham village scramble. The french toast was a larger order than we imagined and I ordered the blueberry compote on the side. The combination of the syrup and the blueberry compote went well together but I didn't prefer either one on the french toast alone. The habersham village scramble consisted of scrambled eggs, mushrooms, bacon, tomato, onion, peppers and celery served over home fries, topped with cheddar served with a buttermilk biscuit. This was the BEST egg scramble bowl I've ever had. It was large and perfectly seasoned. I would definitely recommend ordering this dish! read more

This used to be a really good place ( years ago) Good service , and good food. This is no longer the case. Service lacks. Maybe it's because inadequate training, or perhaps they just dont care. Or maybe there was an ownership change or management change? But this time, the server we had had previous visit, who was brand new at the time, and his time, was carrying drinks to a table with his fingers on the lip of the glasses! Health violation! We sat with dishes on our table while every server and hostess passed us, including ours, and they didn't clear them!? There is no teamwork. We finally cleared them to a wait station near by. I had the fish and chips this time and I think the grease wasn't the right temp because the breading was all grease soaked. I will say that the meatloaf remains about the best thing on the menu. Solid lunch spot. Came in around 12:30 with three friends and we were sat immediately inside. The patio was completely full or we probably would've preferred that. Our server, Lindsay, was very nice and made some good recommendations. I was really disappointed that they were out of crispy chicken and couldn't make the Hot Honey Sammy. :( Oh well. I ordered the Southern Gentleman burger with mac 'n' cheese and an order of fried green tomatoes for the table as an appetizer. Our food came out super fast and the tomatoes came out with it. It would've been nice to have the appetizer out first, because we were really hungry but oh well. The fried green tomatoes were good, loved the flavors added by the goat cheese and pistou. My burger was HUGE and very messy to eat because it was a double patty, but it was super tasty. I wouldn't have thought to put pork, fried onions, and pimento cheese together, but it worked. My mac 'n' cheese was just okay and would have been better if it was hot. It seemed to have been sitting for a bit. I tried my friend's brussel sprouts, which were very good. My vegetarian friend was pleased to be able to get an Impossible patty. We all enjoyed our food. Their cocktails looked great, and $5 for a peach Mule seamed like a good deal to me, so I ordered one. It was a bit too peachy for me and tasted more like peach schnapps. It might have been better with fresh peach purée, but whatev; it was $5. We had the crispy brussels appetizer and it was delicious. Fish and chips were very good. My husband had the hot honey chicken sandwich and really liked it but felt the pimento cheese was too much as he really wanted to enjoy the hot honey glaze and said he would have them leave off the pimento cheese if he ever got it again (personal preference). The service was disappointing. Our waitress disappeared after we got our food and never came back to get my husband a refill on his drink (which is big thumbs down for him). We got finished eating and had to wait an extended period of time for her to bring our ticket. We also were not a fan of the seating arrangement as we were in the separate room at the tables against the wall. There was a couple seated on both sides of us less than 3 feet away. We could every conversation they were having (not trying to eaves drop, just was the way we were seated) and hear the woman to the left of us smacking her food. Oh my goodness! Where do I begin! I was introduced to this place through work. A co-worker chose this place to cater our Birthday Luncheon at work. The food is absolutely amazing! So, I figured, my husband would really appreciate the food. After I heard from my co-workers that this place was very close to my job AND had open area seating, I decided to plan a date night with my husband to check it out. Parking is a bit frustrating as there is a lot but its always crowded, so unless you are getting takeout and can drive directly up to the door, you may have to hike it a few feet to the restaurant (No different from the parking situation at Walmart) But, trust me... its worth it! My husband ordered the Truckin' burger and I ordered the Classic with Fries. Oh, and for those fries, choose to "truffle them" and add a side of ranch dressing to it... changed. my. LIFE!!! I can no longer eat fries with ketchup, thanks to 5-Spot! The burgers are fresh, "smash patties" that are so well seasoned it makes you want to ask the chef what their secret is! The decor is very warm, rustic, and friendly. It has a real "homey" feel to it. Its very bar-sy, pub-like feel, and throw pillows give it the casual vibe a man could feel comfortable eating a good burger and beer in and just soft enough for his lady to feel like she's being treated out to a nice, swanky restaurant. The wait staff is friendly, accommodating, and very attentive without being overbearing. Its just a very pleasant experience. We went for brunch on the weekend and I was surprised it wasn't overly busy. We got a table pretty fast. Our server was nice. The food was a little disappointing. I was expecting a truffle oil for the fries but it was just a bunch of truffle powder which wasn't too good. The salmon was good but the portion was a little small for a salad that expensive. The chicken and biscuit was good, the biscuit was soft and buttery. The bacon was really flavorful. Even the chicken strips tasted really good, juicy. Pimento cheese isn't my favorite which is why I got it on the side but I can say the dish probably needed it but that's on me. The drink was really disappointing. I would not recommend it at all. It was probably sparkling water with fake lemon flavoring, a few squished blueberries (no blueberry flavoring). It was super sour and couldn't even be saved when I put in three sugar packets (now it was neutral without flavor). Absolutely love the neighborhood locations, takes me back to my youth. The staff here was very friendly and seemed to enjoy their work, so thank you to todays staff members. I tried the 5 Spot in Habersham after being a huge fan of East End Provisions which is now the 5 Spot on Broughton. I will say that the location is great, the food was good, but it seemed a little dirty inside, and the bartender was a bit of a hipster a-hole if you know what I mean... I guess I should just expect to be treated like I am unworthy of their "coolness" these days but it always throws me for a loop! I would only go back if someone invited me, and they were paying. read more

Very tasty..a bit overpriced at $13 for 4 slices..could use s side cup of the sauces. Next, we had the shrimp and grits. A wonderful blend of Cajun spices..generous amount of shrimp, and cheesy grits, with Androuille sausage and collard greens for added Southern flavor. I love 5 Spot!! Courtney S is my fav server, drinks are amazing, and I love the buddha bowls and other healthy options.

Food , atmosphere and service was good. The problem is when you pay the use hand held computers with a tipping platform. It defaults to 25%,30%,35%. When I asked the waitress how to change the tip she frowned and said she did no know. Unfortunately this is a bad practice. Most people would just tip out the higher % rather than getting into a embarrassing situation by asking how to change it. read more

Today I brought Ozzy and had brunch outside. The food and service were both great. 5 spot has a great menu and has always served great food with timely service. They are one of the few restaurants in town that don't appear to think chicken has to be cooked into utter oblivion. Hubby said the shrimp tacos were delicious compared to others we tasted during this vacation around the area. My daughter's impossible burger was huge since it was a double patty. The food and service were both very good, a couple detractors are the amount of noise in the restaurant, and I'm not talk about conversational noise, mechanical from the front door that needs fixed so it doesn't make a huge noise when it opens and closes to the banging and clanging from the plate prep area. Second the seating isn't very comfortable, the benches around the outer edge are to deep and have no back so you are always leaning forward. Seats have no cushion. So while the good and service elevate the 5 Spot, it's ambiance will always be its shortcoming and have it looked as a cafe verses a restaurant. read more

My husband had the meatloaf & was very happy with it. His side dish was the mac & cheese, & he couldn't stop raving about how creamy it was. I also ordered black eyed pea fritters with my salad, When I asked the waitress what they were like, she said they were small & round fritters. When they arrived, they were two large patties with very little flavor. I was also disappointed that they only had three draft beers. One was an IPA, which I knew I wouldn't lIke. Another was a dark beer, which I also knew I wouldn't like. So I ended up with the only option left: Coors. It was OK, but I wish there had been more choices. read more

we have been to this location many times. its no longer a family friendly establishment. some of the food is good, but the Moscow mules are terrible, grits are awful, and then we got kicked out of the restaurant b/c we had brought some pizza for our 3 yr old who doesn't really eat the food on the menu. 01/09/21 - party of 2 - 2.30pm The 5 Spot is located in the Habersham Village. We chose this place because my son was craving a burger and our favorite burger place was closed. Their menu on Yelp showed a variety of burgers but they weren't aware there was only a limited brunch menu on the weekends. To say our visit was disappointing is being generous. The hostess was checking her phone while she was seating us! Seriously, she could have waited a couple minutes until we sat down before she stared at her phone. That was just down right rude. The menus were dirty with crusted food and hairs eewww. Table had crumbs. My son had the 5 Spot Classic Burger ($13.50) that came with bacon and pepper-Jack cheese. The burger was bland, overcooked and not noteworthy. The side of fries were not even warm. I would have sent the food back but my teenager hates to speak up. I had the Black & Bleu Steak Salad ($15.00). The salad was tasty with bacon, cucumbers, tomatoes and bleu cheese on top of spring mix, as was the champagne vinaigrette. The coffee ($2.50) had a nice taste but my refill was cold! Service was spotty- maybe that's how they get the name. Next time we'll wait for our favorite spot a few blocks away to open at 4:30pm. read more

YUM! We came to The 5 Spot on Sunday for brunch. Whenever we pass by it is always packed so I was very surprised we did not have to wait. We were seated outside and ordered. My husband had the hot honey chicken biscuits and I had the shrimp and grits. I was nervous to get the shrimp and grits because I am very picky about my shrimp and grits. Thankfully they were delicious! The Cajun trinity was so good and the veggies still had a crunch to them. My husband said his was fantastic- he had to bring one home they are so large. One of our go to brunch spots in town. If you hit it at the right time you can get in pretty quickly, and it isn't a touristy spot. We always find a parking spot in that lot next door, so that is nice. The food is good- not amazing, but I've never left disappointed. The service could be improved. I usually feel like I wait a little too long for anything. Whether it is a refill on a drink, the check, etc. If they could improve their service team, I think they would get better reviews across the board. read more
