The old man was DELICIOUS!!! Stoped at The Bagel Shack as a change to my lunch routine. Order the old man on a jalapeño cheese bagel with bacon on top and the cream cheese to avocado to bagel ratio was heavenly!. The smell in my car was so delicious that I gave into temptation and ate my bagel on the car ride back home. Probably drove down the streets with cream cheese and avocado on my face and it was so well worth it! I've been to bagel shack a handful of times now and for the most part they've been good experiences. I appreciate that they put in a bagel shop in this center close to my house. I usually get the lowers with sausage on either an everything or jalapeño cheddar bagel. It was consistently delicious each time I ordered it. I've also ordered a chai latte from here. I asked the employee a question regarding if the chai latte had caffeine but neither of the two people at the front knew the answer, which was a bit underwhelming. I will say though that who I believe to be the manager has always been super welcoming and hospitable whenever I've seen him. I also think it's cute and unique that the bagel shop is south oc themed. See my last review for the business owners response... kind of rubbed me the wrong way at first with the in-depth defense, but I appreciate the transparency he was showing. Customers who came in after me got their orders, despite my checking in a couple of times. How long does it really take to put 3 plain bagels in a bag? I hope management can improve the efficiency of their staff because waiting 20 minutes for plain bagels is far from ideal. read more

This was my first time trying The Bagel Shack and overall I was impressed. The bagels were very good; nice chew but not too much, good flavor, good size. We got some basic cinnamon sugar bagel with butter, a couple sesame seed bagels with baccon egg and cheese, and then a lox bagel. Again, all were very good. The two down sides. First, when I ordered online and went in, it was not clear at all where to pick up food. I went to where staff were there handing out orders to people who ordered in the store and were also assembling the bagels. They tried to call back to other staff to help grab my order, but since they were pretty recently opened, no one heard and they had to stop what they were doing to grab my order. They were nice about it, but it was clear that this was happening a lot and was making operations run rough. This will likely be resolved in time. The second part was the cost. Oh my goodness the cost! I ordered 5 bagels and it came to $75!!! They were good but that is insane. I can't imagine I'll be back again soon, just due to the costs. read more

I went this morning to grab a bagel, when I placed my order I was hit with snotty comments about my order. When I got my bagel, it clearly wasn't toasted and stale. I saw how busy it was when I got out my car and I literally started walking back to my car and I was like I'm not gonna deal with this so early for breakfast but then I decided I'm like no let's go give it a shot and keep in mind I'm hungry Been a LOYAL customer coming here since opening and is the only bagel shop I've been going to since bagel shack popped up but I Just sat for 25 minutes and watched numerous people that ordered after me get their food. To make it worse I saw how busy it was when I arrived but I figured a bagel toasted with shmear wouldn't have taken 25 minutes. When I got in I saw customers upset and I thought they were being ridiculous overreacting because I know work can have its highs and lows and customers don't understand that with heavy traffic and I was going to tell the staff to keep your head up your doing a great but then I waited and waited and waited then they ran out of my bagel even thought I ordered before all these people . I was literally so f ing hungry so maybe I don't need to leave a review but I feel obligated to No one asked if I was waiting on an order as I sat in front of them or nothing If I didn't say anything I would've been sitting there for the whole rest of the morning NFL slate. There might've been 7-9 people behind the counter and only 2 of them which seemed to be the more veteran staff-were trying to literally do everything The young staff that looks like they're in highschool probably shouldn't be working point blank or at least not running the registers at such peak times then 5 teenagers working in a corner at 10 am doing bupkiss The bagels here are the best and I haven't had better I'm really trying to give yall the benefit of the doubt but I sadly don't want to come back. I'm so glad they opened up another Bagel Shack in OC! This place has the best bagels (Sano is my FAVORITE) and is a filling and quick breakfast to get as long as you don't need to wait in line.
