Hey guys, just a heads up I ordered a soy-rizo wrap and my first bite, bit into something super hard I looked down and I had a bacon wrap, I think it was a bone It was labeled "soy" so I just waned to let you know but no one would answer the phone. UPDATE: I love the bean box and have never had such delicious coffee drinks. I only wanted to alert them to the fact that there may have been a mix up that day with the labels! Unexpected surprise. We were visiting SD and needed a quick cup of coffee on way out of town. We prefer to support local coffee places rather than a certain chain, and stumbled upon Bean Box. I'm only giving 1 star because I've been here before this experience and the coffee is really good which is why I came back with my brother and sister in law. I had HORRIBLE customer service this Saturday! I raved about how great the coffee was to my brother so, he purchased a yelp deal to try it out. When we he went to use his deal the women told him that he still needed to pay $5 more. He explained he already paid and she gave him attitude said she was new but, still doesn't think that he had already paid but, finally called someone to confirm. Then she gave us 3 hot Mocha drinks even though he asked for cold drinks. When he told her that it was the wrong order she said that it's close to closing so he would have to keep those drinks. I refused to take my drink hot so, she threw ice in my coffee and said well now you're going to have a watery drink. I told her we wanted a blended mocha and she said adding ice cubes to the to drink we already have is all she could do for us. I just moved down the street and was excited to be able to go to the bean box on my way to work but, I will not go back since I received such rude customer service. read more

This is a cute little drive through in Point Loma. Its quick and easy. I am pretty cheap and just get a regular cup of coffee with a little half and half and one sugar in the raw. The coffee isn't the greatest, but the service is always friendly and they have a punch card. I would really be a fan if the regular coffee was better, but it suffices and its better then the stuff at the office. A good place to go if you are in a rush and you live in the area. It also always helps to support local coffee houses! read more

3-star is because it just an ok spot. Not really exceptional coffee like rest of reviews.. - I went there twice. - First time, I ordered a capuccino .. it was pretty decent. There was some bitterness to the grind - Second time, I ordered a cafe au lait, it was a disaster... the milk was cold, coffee was extremely bitter (seemed like acidity had set in)... So, this place is good for convenience, even though there service can be a tad slow. Disclaimer: I'm a coffee snob. if I ask for an espresso and someone asks me small, medium or large.. It's nice that there's no wait like at Starbucks but there's a reason why. There's no consistency with how the drinks are made. I ordered an iced latte and coffee was used instead of the normal espresso shot. I gave them an extra star for convenience but other than that the coffee was not good...very weak. read more

The great thing about this place is its drive up service. I ordered the hammerhead expecting really strong coffee but the coffee was really watery. I didn't add extra espresso to my coffee because I saw that there was already a shot in the hammerhead. It tasted like folgers. The lady that served me was really really nice. I also ordered a chocolate chip muffin which was really good! I haven't completely written this place off because the coffee I ordered wasn't great. I'll be back to check out some of the other drinks they offer. read more

I just had the best experience by going to this hidden gem in Point Loma. I went in asking for a coffee with a little "taste of Christmas" but I don't like sweet syrups that ruin the coffee taste. Since I'm such a fan of Americano's, she recommended using a mint tea as the base then removing the tea bag and pouring over the espresso. Nailed it! Thanks for the new addiction. read more

Pros: Easy access, good options, close to Barrons, good coffee, never super busy, and has food. Cons: barista was not too happy to answer questions. I asked what the iced coffee was made with. Her response "iced coffee." Um, duh. I then asked well what type of beans do you use? "Dark roast." So not much info. I don't feel I ordered what I wanted because I needed more info. read more

My family comes here pretty frequently. It's convenient to our home and there isn't ever a long line. The baristas are also really fast at making drinks. My only complaint is that unlike most coffee drive thrus up in the Pacific Northwest, there isn't a whole lot on the menu. Just a handful of options. However, what they do offer is made well. They make super delicious drinks!!! I'm particularly fond of the Tuxedo Mocha and Mexican Mocha iced. The staff is also super friendly! Best Iced Coffee...ever! I have been going here for almost three years now and recommend this place to all my friends. If you live anywhere in point loma area the BEAN BOX is totally worth going to. It's in a perfect location-close to the freeway exit and super easy to access. I love the fact that it's a drive through-I never wait more than a minute in line and all the baristas get you through quick. The owner Kat knows my roommates and I all by name and knows all our drinks. Such great customer service and great quality coffee. I get a large iced coffee with cream and a scoop of white mocha powder. Some coffee shops don't know how to mix the powder the right way and it ends up chunky in the bottom-but here all the baristas are trained well and know how to make good quality drinks. I'm moving to San Carlos area soon but still think I will be making the drive some weekend mornings to see Kat and get my iced coffee-- read more
