Such a disappointment from start to finish. I should have known from the get-go that this place was going to be a "problem" just from how the greeter was harassing me 3 hours before my reservation time slot. I made a reservation online for an allotted time, of their design, and I chose it. I receive 3 consecutive phone calls from "Rum Factory" (not bloom lounge) and they don't leave a voicemail so I didn't answer. Mind you, I'm at work, I'm a chef in highland park and I'm very busy. I finally did answer and the greeter asked me if I wanted to move my reservation to an earlier time, because they close at 5pm. I asked, "are we going to have to leave at 5pm?" She said "no..... but the kitchen closes at 4:40pm" and I replied, "so, we have to order immediately when we arrive?" She said "pretty much." I then explained that I was at work and I had to get with my group (we were celebrating a friend's birthday) and see if we could come earlier. At this point I'm frustrated because why would they even have that reservation time slot available online if they can't provide a full quality guest experience? Most of our group worked that morning and we managed to move the reservation to 4pm, we should have gone somewhere else but the birthday girl wanted to go there and it was a central located place for all of us, and it was so last minute to make changes too. We get there and the server is a man who never told me his name, later claimed he was the manager. During the entire experience threw the previous management under the buss for any and all excuses. Calling him an idiot so on. Very unprofessional and tacky. I asked about a cocktail and about if I did like it if I could send it back, he said no. I said "seriously?" He said,"yes, our bartenders treat our drinks like art and it's a gamble if you like it or not and if you don't that your fault and you still have to pay for it". In all my years I have never heard of a policy like this. I have heard of no modifications, sure, but you have to pay even if you don't like it. For a drink?! It wasn't made with gold. It was a $16 drink. Food came fairly quick played cute. Wasn't especially warm. Took most of it with me, to give to my husband. Then without skipping a beat here comes the point of sale system for us to pay right in our face. Did we receive an itemized receipt? No. Just a total, then a survey of the business. So I'm sure I was charged correctly but I can't be for sure. He asked me after the payment went through if I wanted a receipt, but after... I then asked to speak with him privately I went over all my grievances and was returned with "well the hostess is 16 years old, she was probably told to call all the late reservations to see if they could come early se we could all go home earlier. I can see she needs more training. Rum factory is our owner that's why the caller id says that. All I can offer is you is an apology. I have been in this industry for 15 years." Then I asked "how are we going to make this right?" He said "well you already paid so there isn't anything I can do now" I said "you have gift cards don't you?" He said "yeah...but they're digital". I said "ok" he said, "I'm going to have to run it up to the owner to find out" and I said "I can wait". He walked off and he was gone for what felt like 20 minutes. He came back with a printed (not digital) and in an envelope, coupon for 30% for a meal for the same amount of people we had and it expires in 30 days. How do you feel he did. Oh and I called to talk to the GM and to let them know about this experience since I feel like this is definitely that should be addressed by a higher up and the man that answered the phone sounded exactly like the manger I spoke with and he claimed to be the GM too his man is Joshua. read more

Really enjoyed my experience here from the getgo. The hostess was extremely welcoming and pleasant upon our arrival. We came with my toddler and she was so concerned with his well being and making sure we had what we needed, which was very appreciated. The decor is absolutely beautiful. The place is decorated like a floral haven with flowers hanging from the ceiling. There are also some middle eastern elements to the ambiance, which elevates the place. We had pancakes, Shakshuka and an omelette and they were all tasty. Look forward to returning! read more

The food is meh & on the pricey side, I had the shawarma burger, and it was a bit oily and dry but the coffee was good so I thought maybe 4 stars for effort.....that's until I got home and saw the check closely. They charged us $1 for whip cream on our "gourmet" coffee that was already almost $8 dollars before the whipped cream. My biggest pet peeve is when restaurants nickel and dime their customers, and servers are not clear and a bit deceptive when asking the questions. If I'm ordering a cup of gourmet coffee that costs almost $8 and the server asks me if I want whipped cream on top, I assume it comes with the coffee. The space is lovely. Food and drinks were excellent. The waiter, however, overshared and made us uncomfortable. He let us know that he was the former manager and that he was hunting for a new job and not fond of ownership's new direction, which had reduced him to a waiter. My husband and I have visited the Bloom Lounge twice. The food is really delicious! Their pancakes are the best and so delicious. The service is really good, the servers are attentive but don't interrupt and are very polite. The atmosphere is lively and energetic. The tables are tight for parties of two, and close to other patrons. Larger table for four have a bit more room. There is outdoor seating in a patio which has a little more elbow room. One of our reservations was early when they first opened at 9, and one was at 11 with friends. Both times we dined there, the dishes were excellent. We have had the berry pancakes the tiramisu pancakes, the salmon omelette and avocado eggs Benedict. Reservations are a must for weekend dining, especially breakfast or brunch. read more

Where to begin? It is cleared that the five star ratings, as other people have stated, are not true. We went to dinner on a Saturday night and the restaurant inside was empty, except for one table. In the reservation, I had requested a quiet table for catching up, and when I arrived, we were shown to the far back corner of the restaurant, a snug booth, perfect for visiting. It took them almost 10 minutes for a server to come and get my drink menu, and shortly there after my guest arrived. The server was very chatty, very friendly, but did not seem to understand us wanting to spend visiting with us wanting to visit and not talking to her. She loomed over us throughout the meal, not taking clues and hints from when we wanted to be alone. We would be mid-conversation and she would just stand at the table and talk. Food: Out of lobster bisque Out of pork belly Out of mac & cheese Out of chocolate cake Out of pancakes Ordered: Onion soup (in place of bisque) - bit into whole bay leaf; very salty Bloom salad - okay but mostly a huge bowl of greens w skant toppings (in place of pork belly) Bolognese - dry, noodles stuck together, little flavor Crispy Brussels sprouts - mushy and soggy Iced tea - $4 for 3 oz of tea (had to request refills x 3) and refills slow in coming Skipped dessert, even though we were celebrating 2 birthdays. No offer of dessert on the house when everything we ordered was out. Hope you aren't planning Sunday brunch or you will he disappointed with everything out. The bloom lounge is so incredible! It's a very intimate restaurant that is beautifully decorated! We went on a weekend, which means we were only able to go because we had a reservation. They are reservation only on the weekends. Luckily we were able to be sat pretty quickly even with our reservations. It's fairly new so it's important to be patient and hopefully they get some kinks worked out because the food is incredible! We will be back!! read more

I was very hopeful for this restaurant as the food looked great from pictures, and the restaurant itself is very cute/instagrammable. That being said... We came early for our reservation and it took about 10 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. They were also turning away all walk ins with no apology because the restaurant was already full and they were having issues. I counted 3 servers, and the manager working the floor. According to our server, they didn't have a bartender and most of their staff has quit already which is surprising because they only opened 2 weeks ago. It took about 30 minutes of just sitting for a server to take care of us, and we decided to order drinks and food at the same time. Water came out quickly, but our mimosas took another 15-20 minutes to come out. We were very lucky that our food came out faster than the tables around us - each mentioned to us that it took over an hour for food to come out for them, and one of them was still missing food after 2 hours of being there. I had the tres leches pancakes which were good but not great. They had so much cinnamon on them it was overwhelming to smell. Each of us felt that our food was ok but not amazing - especially for a cost of about $17 a head. We won't be back, but hopefully they will get better with time and experience. read more

Had reservations, had to wait additional 20 minutes. OK, they were busy. But then service was horrible, waitress made errors on our order because it is so loud in the restaurant. Music is to loud, and is just a drumming sound, and everyone is trying to talk over the music. Really was a bad experience. Food was adequate, but nothing special. read more

Had a party in the GreenRoom. The AC was not adequate. We were all red in the face and sweating. Only 2 units there, where 3-4 are needed to keep up with the Texas heat. There were too many parties crowded into the space at the same time too. The waiters were nice, but working themselves hard to keep up. The food is interesting and fairly good. read more
