A LOCAL GEM! It was fire we licked the plates clean and our server was so sweet! Will be back

Server was nice and ambiance is great, food came quick too. Only downside was we were attacked by a Junebug while sitting outside but I made it out luckily.

Found this gem through a Chef's reel and it did not disappoint! Great food, awesome vibes, and top-tier service. Meeting the owner's wife was such a nice personal touch; she's incredibly sweet. Highly recommend! Food was amazing!!!

Ambience: intimate Service: seated under 5 mins and order taken within 6 mins. Waitress and cook were friendly Seating: Outside (no interior review) Food: asada burrito had generous amount of cheese and meat, thick and not overly greasy Not the best place for coffee... the coffee was watered down and quite disappointing, I'm not sure if you're doing a pour over but you need to change suppliers. Should the coffee be corrected, it had a 5 star potential

Sooooo good! We went for the first time today and everything was exceptional. Service? 10/10. Everyone was so friendly. The chef, Glen, actually came out to chat with us about the menu, shared his personal favorites, and even told us how the tomato soup (which... OMG, we'll get to that) literally came to him in a dream. Our server Kim was the sweetest and so helpful the whole time. The vibes? Immaculate. We sat outside and it genuinely felt like we'd been teleported to Europe or New Orleans -- cozy, charming, perfect. Now the food... the pictures will speak for themselves, but here's the rundown: * Mushroom soup: 100/10 * Tomato soup: 101/10 * Three cheese grilled cheese: 100/10 * Country breakfast: 10/10 * BBQ chicken wrap: 10/10 Already obsessed. Cannot wait to go back.

The last time I reviewed was for the take home family meals during the covid era. I wanted to make a review about how much fun we are having each month at the Vinyl Brunch. We love bringing in our records for the dj to play. He is wonderful! Kim, Glenn, and staff are the best. Service is always with a big smile. We feel like family here. Ambiance is gorgeous. The weather has been beautiful for outdoor brunch. We love the pigs in a blanket. We also love the breakfast burritos, omelets, potatoes, Benedicts, pesto eggs, and more! The pancakes are out of this world fluffy and delicious. I typically do not care for breakfast sausage, however the one they use here is crazy delicious. Its such good quality and I wish I could eat it every day haha. The salmon pesto benedict is also a unique take on the dish. The sangria is spectacular. Can't wait till the next vinyl brunch!

I enjoyed supporting family owed business, it's hidden inside this beautiful building! Got myself the Blast sandwich, it was super fresh and tasty. Staff was friendly, great customer service.

I had the build yoir own omelet with a sub of cottage cheese which they willingly substituted for the cottage potatoes and toast

Head in the courtyard and head right to have great food from people that love serving their patrons.. Food was delicious, quality ingredients and great chefs made a breakfast that was tasty, portioned so that we were satisfied, and presented in a way that would be expected from a high quality breakfast café. The service was great. We were greeted by the owner who was very friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. Everyone who came through the door is treated like a special customer.

This place needs more attention. I loved every moment dining here. From the second I walked in the owners were really welcoming. Its a beautiful location tucked away near cafe Hidalgo. The food itself was good as well. Definitely fulfilled my breakfast cravings. Thanks brownstone!

First time to this restaurant. Been to the local places around. Love the outside seating in the courtyard and so many food options. The Choc chip pancakes and the bacon were really good. Eggs and potatoes were okay. I expected More flavor because of the color maybe it's just paprika? But a little salt helped. Eggs Benedict was good and the portions are large. The service is excellent! Very kind and attentive.

    Potatoes, over-easy eggs, and bacon.

Yes, the price has gone up as a result, but they have way more options on par with more expensive places. On the weekend/dinner, they now have a chilled seafood section with items that aren't covered in any type of sauce including, but not limited to; raw oysters, crab legs, abalone, crawfish. They still have their steamed dungeness crab, fried crab, and craw fish boils. I don't think these updates have caught on yet because those premium items aren't attacked like donuts at a police department. At most buffets, you see people walking away with stacked plates with none left for you when you're third in line. This place usually keeps a steady supply. The only thing that sucks is the single serve ice cream. I know it's more sanitary, but soft serve and scooped ice cream would really put that place in the next tier up for Asian buffets.

The food is all okay at best with the fresh fruit actually being tasty and refreshing, although it could be chilled a little more. The meats are actually not bad either, a little chewy but if you don't mind that then you'll be fine. I didn't try the seafood or sushi myself but I was told by members of my party that the those are also okay at best but most of the food was bland. The servers are all very friendly and don't seem to forget about clearing plates or taking drink orders which I did really appreciate so I hope they never change that and thank you for providing great service. The ambiance is decent as well. Clean with a nice mural of the Great Wall in the back where larger parties are sat. The bathroom doors also have cool murals on them of a samurai for men and a lovely painting of a woman at a temple.

The pit roast was also good. The chicken fried steak was decently good too The bourbon chicken was terrible though. For lunch , they also have breakfast items like biscuit, gravy and eggs. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the restaurant was a huge disappointment. The dining area and restrooms were dirty, and I even saw people drop serving tongs on the floor and put them right back into the food without anyone replacing them. That was pretty shocking. The dessert station looked neglected, with several items looking dried out or like they'd been sitting there for a long time, even though the restaurant had only been open for a couple of hours. Many food trays were empty, and it didn't seem like anyone was keeping up with cleaning or restocking. I've been to the Bellflower Golden Corral several times, and it's always clean, well-stocked, and much better maintained. I was expecting a similar experience here, but this location felt run-down and poorly managed. I really hope management takes these concerns seriously because the employees were nice, but the cleanliness and overall upkeep need major improvement.

Their online check-in and waitlist system is a lifesaver, though, since we were able to join the waitlist ahead of time instead of waiting around in person. FOOD: Giving the food a 4/5 because, in my opinion, their broth could use more flavor. It doesn't really add much flavor to the meat as it cooks, and I wish they offered more options for soup bases and marinated meats. I was looking for something like a spicy pork broth, but ended up getting the Original House Soup and adding some hot drops/paste for extra kick. My boyfriend got the Tonkotsu Pork Soup, which we both found to be lacking in flavor as well. He has a higher spice tolerance, so he had to add a good amount of the hot drops to get the heat he wanted. That being said, I do like that their buffet has a decent variety of options, so there's plenty to choose from when building your meal. SERVICE: We did have to ask for water because our server forgot to bring it, but honestly, it happens especially when the restaurant is busy. They were pretty quick about clearing empty plates. Overall, Shabuya is still a reliable shabu spot for us. I just wish the broth had more flavor and that there were more soup base and meat options!
