My first time trying Coffee Builders since I happened to be in the area, and funnily enough... I don't even drink coffee! I was hoping they'd have some good tea options too, and they absolutely do. I ordered the iced peach black tea, and it was incredibly refreshing with a really nice peach flavor that wasn't overly sweet. The cashier was also super helpful in walking me through the menu and helping me decide what to order, which made for a great first impression. For breakfast, I got the avocado cream. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the chive cream was an absolute standout, it was so flavorful and ended up being the perfect dip for bites of the avocado toast. My only complaint is that it was pretty cumbersome to eat as served. I basically had to deconstruct the whole thing to enjoy it, so I think a different presentation would make the dish even better. The atmosphere was another highlight. It felt much more like a cocktail lounge than your typical coffee shop, which made it a really enjoyable place to sit and relax. Even though I can't personally vouch for the coffee, I had such a great experience that I can't wait to come back and next time I'll bring one of my coffee-loving friends to see if the coffee lives up to everything else!
Another excellent coffee shop in Phoenix! There were so many drink options that it was hard to choose but I went with the staff recommendation- the slopes, a blueberry favored latte. It was delicious! I ordered to go and didn't get to enjoy the lovely indoor space. There is also an outdoor space too.
This is probably one of my favorite coffee shops in Phoenix. The inside of the shop is contemporary but has a speakeasy type of feel. They also have an outdoor patio. There's tons of gluten free options. I got the matcha latte with almond milk and a gluten free waffle. Everything was so good. I love their presentation. The service was quick and courteous. I love their attention to details. Definitely be back when I'm closer to downtown.
Wow was a cute find! Nestled back in an industrial area, I was surprised to walk into such a fashionable, warm, welcoming coffee shop! I heard they go all out on themes (like Star Wars). After much discussion with the wonderfully helpful barista, I settled on the ceremonial iced matcha with a shot of rose, and the fruit bowl which is quite big! Cute patio with misters, or luxurious indoor velvet seats with speakeasy vibes. Definitely an unexpected find.
I got the Purple Bee and it was pretty decent. The coffee was smooth and I would definitely come back to try the infamous Bourbon Vanilla latte. The cashier was super helpful and pointed me in the right direction of what to get. The cafe is cozy and very aesthetic. I would definitely come back to work and enjoy their coffee.
I didn't know what I was getting myself into before I walked into this place, but I'm glad I did. Someone really loves Star Wars. They had Lego Star Wars on tv. They had yoda balls. They had a full sci-fi menu. But they also had very nice people working, tasty food and a nice hot latte. That's exactly what I needed after a morning flight. I'd definitely go back the next time I fly into the Phoenix airport!
This week, I stopped in for a Yelp event and was blown away at the beautiful decor, drinks, food, and friendly staff. Star Wars + Coffee = a match made in heaven, or should I say space? My boyfriend is a Star Wars fan as well, so I had to go back a few days later to show him this amazing place when we were nearby at the Phoenix Zoo. That experience was also great, so I'll likely need to do an outing to take my Star Wars loving bestie out as she was mesmerized just by the pictures I shared with her. What We Ordered: - High Ground (Galactic Menu available until 5/31/2026) - espresso, milk, vanilla, toasted marshmallow, dark chocolate cold foam: so delicious that I returned days after a Yelp event to have this iced again! - Yoda Deviled Eggs (available until 5/31/2026): another repeat for me this week as I enjoyed it so much earlier this week! - Prime Rib Sliders: something new to try and we split. I really love spicy red pepper aioli as it added a nice heat to the slider, and some moisture as the prime rib was a bit tough. Not sure we'd order again due to that toughness, but the aioli was so delicious I'd see if it was on any other dish to order that to try next time. Yes, next time as I'm certain I'll return! Be sure to stop by before May 31st, 2026 to see the Star Wars theming! They even have a POD RACER! How cool. May the force be with you & SYOY!
First time visiting and it's a hidden gem. Cold brew is on point and so is their cold foam. Also tried the ham quiche and it's sooo good. It's a puff pastry style and has great flavor. Def would come back!
If you're moving too fast, you may just drive past this place. It looks inconspicuous from the outside, but when you get inside, it's beautiful. They have abundance of food and drink choices. Staff embodies the true definition of "service with a smile." I got a matcha lemonade. That was delicious and I will definitely try this place again.
The Coffee Builders feels like one of downtown Phoenix's best hidden finds -- a tucked-away oasis on South 7th Street that shares its space and creative spirit with the adjacent wood and cement design/build studios. You can feel that maker energy immediately. We were impressed from the moment we parked. The coffee cup-shaped bike racks instantly caught my eye, especially as someone who bikes around downtown, and the parking lot features an incredible oversized art piece that looks like a futuristic space sled being pulled by two yellow rockets. Before you even walk in, the place already feels imaginative and special. Inside, the experience only gets better. Much of the interior and the spacious covered patio, with its many tables, were crafted by the owner, and it shows. From the ordering experience to the cozy, organic atmosphere, everything feels thoughtful and top-notch. The warm wood tones, intricate ceiling details, and inviting communal feel make it the kind of place that naturally encourages conversation. We ended up chatting with several other guests, along with a number of staff members, all of whom were genuinely welcoming and happy to share stories about the space, its history, the owner, and the neighborhood. The current rotating theme was Star Trek, which somehow even included Yoda-shaped deviled eggs -- quirky, memorable, and very much in the spirit of the place. We tried the lavash, pastries, a cappuccino, and a latte, and both the presentation and taste were excellent. Coffee Builders isn't just a coffee stop -- it feels like a community hub, an art space, and a warm neighborhood gathering place all at once. We were so impressed that we're already planning return visits, this time with friends and visitors in tow.
This hits the trifecta! The ambience is just stunning. It feels like you walked into an East Coast College library meets West Coast cocktail lounge but instead you're able to visit bright and early and get your caffeine fix! Customer service is outstanding. They are patient barista's speaking in Starbucks terms for those new to visiting small chain coffee shops, but really are sure to tell you what they think might be best in a gentle way.! love the guidance! Beautiful silverware and bar wear utilized to present even more exquisite drinks! We will be back
This morning I had the pleasure of starting my Monday with a vanilla bourbon latte from Coffee Builders, and it was such a fun surprise. Pulling into the parking lot, I'll admit I was a little skeptical with the piles of wood from the neighboring lumber business, but the second you walk inside, it feels like stepping into a cozy speakeasy. Low lighting, velvet chairs, and such a charming atmosphere:) The only thing that didn't quite match the moody vibe, in the best way, was Tina, my barista. She was so friendly and energetic, and encouraged me to switch it up from my usual vanilla latte. I'm glad I listened! The drink was delicious, but the presentation really stole the show. The little flower on top was such a sweet touch. It wasn't overly sugary, definitely more of a true coffee drink with just the right hint of sweetness, which I loved. I'd absolutely come back and stay awhile. It feels like the perfect spot to sit quietly, sip something warm, and get lost in an audiobook for a bit.
A fellow Yelp reviewer suggested this spot for a downtown meeting, when I asked her about recommendations for places that had parking and a cool vibe. Coffee Builders checks all the boxes. Great, central location. Cool vibe, local ownership and great food and drinks. Note: I don't drink coffee, and they accommodated me by making something "off-menu." The breakfast quiche was great as was my blueberry refresher, a hybrid from their blueberry rose matcha.
Cute place in South Phx. Lots of tasty items on the menu. The Fancy Farmhouse toast with smoked salmon is beautifully presented and tastes just as good. The inside is cozy and there is seating on the patio for when the weather is nice. The space has beautiful wood and mental work, friendly staff. Recommend. read more

This place is more than a coffee shop. BEST cortado I have had since going to Europe in the mid 2000's. BEST espresso shot. Chicken salad sandwich--ridiculously flavorful and high quality. Iced coffee flights with guaranteed one-of-a-kind flavors. It has something for everyone from the coffee shop novice to the elite coffee connoisseurs. To top it off, the owner made us feel like old friends, and the staff served the customers with the attentiveness and precision of caffeinated humming birds. Given the fact that the owner also has a wood working shop nearby, it comes as no surprise that the interior and overall design creates (like the food and drinks) an experience of real craftsmanship and care. 1/18/25: Short version - what a pleasant surprise Coffee Builders was. There's more parking than you would think, a lot more seating as well (outside anyway), and a larger menu than I was expecting. Definitely a place we would visit again. Longer version - the ball park is close by but it's still in an area I would have dubbed "sketchy". It's a building that looks relatively new so I always thought it was out of place, and my bad for thinking it was small and had crappy parking. The parking lot there on 7th St has about six or so spots but surprise to us, there is a larger parking lot in the back to accommodate CB and the few other stores close by. That's what happens when you drive by quickly and don't Google map a place: you make wrong assumptions and miss out eating / drinking at a really cool place. The inside is well decorated, has plush seating, was a bit cramped looking though for my taste buy hey! another surprise: they have a substantial sized patio north of the building. They do have heat lamps and I noticed misters for our hot summer months. Awesome! They have a pretty large drink menu and fairly substantial food menu as well, including paninis, lavash, and more importantly pastries. :-) My sister said her chocolate pistachio drink did not have a lot of flavor, that she would get something next time; my bourbon vanilla hot chocolate was good despite not tasting the bourbon (ha ha); the strawberry rhubarb pastry was extremely flaky; the prime, pimento, & blue panino was delicious; and finally, the mini ube waffles were pretty good although I not good enough to get again -- not with all the other items to choose from and explore. I will say the patio chairs were a tad ... odd. My sister is a large person and she felt they were too narrow. In my opinion they were very short in depth, meaning the seat edge ended closer to my butt than my knees. I will say they are the heaviest patio chairs we have encountered so good luck trying to steal one. LOL! The presentation of the beverages & meals was well done, and though the pastry came on a glass plate, the hard plates used for the meals are made out of pressed palm leaves so 1) they were pretty damn sturdy, and 2) are compostable (based on my research). I love this! All in all, for two people's drinks, meals, and one pastry, a bill of $65 (incl. tip) although some may say a bit high for breakfast, we both agree it was worth it. And yes, it will be on my list of "let's go there again" places to eat / drink. read more

Love the location and the ambiance to this small local business! The presentation on their coffees and food are beautifully enjoyable. The staff are super friendly and helpful when it's time to order. I enjoyed the Purple Bee, my hubby enjoyed the Masala Gold with a shot of espresso. The Purple Bee has a light sweetness with a promised aroma of lavender. I loved smelling every sip!!! Oh! The mocha latte we got to share was a delight. Wasn't too thick or too sweet - it was Just Right! The Masala comes through with the spice. Cinnamon and turmeric are great for the body. Can't wait to come back and try a food item. It's giving essences of a jazzy speakeasy with elegance and unique classic design. Attention to detail from the cups to the ceiling. Because it's giving nighttime vibes I can see why the couple to my left was dressed up and enjoying their fancy breakfast and the couple to my right were on a first date. From the table behind me on a business meeting to the table in front with kids watching the tv. This place has a spacious outdoor area and cozy lounge inside. The drinks are "instagrammable ". I had the Hawaiian ham & pineapple flatbread. It was airy and light yet filling and delicious. Would come back. My only thing is I wish the music was a little louder, and the fridge in the dining area to be covered with maybe a black sheet or curtain. It is a bit of an eyesore and takes away from the vibe IMO. Followed their IG so they can get a trip to Disney. Their boss has a sign that says when they hit 100K followers they get a trip. read more

The ambiance is inviting and nice. There's indoor and outdoor seating space- we sat outdoors because it was very busy. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. It is a bit pricy but the offerings are unique and the vibes are nice. I loved the deviled eggs with caviar and my drink. I wish the drinks were a bit hotter but besides that I would definitely recommend and revisit! read more

Such a cool place! If you're looking for somewhere with dim lighting and a darker vibe, this is it. Only bangers on the playlist, too. My only note is that it can get a little loud when it's busy due to being a small space, so if you have trouble focusing, this might not be the spot for you. The fire roasted chicken salad sandwich was great! I don't know where they get the bread, but it was so good. My friend got an iced dirty chai (2 shots), which she rates a 7/10. I loved the bourbon cold brew, which I give a 9/10. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Definitely check this place out! read more
The Coffee Builders nails the ambiance with its warm, stylish decor and relaxed vibe. An ideal spot to work, catch up with friends, or just unwind with a good cup of coffee. The atmosphere alone makes it a standout in the Phoenix coffee scene. I tried the Carpenter Bee drink, which sounded intriguing but ended up being just okay--not bad, but nothing memorable. That said, the menu has plenty of other options that caught my eye, and I'm already planning a return visit to try their food, which looks incredible. Decided to try The Coffee Builders after my fiancé saw on social media that they had a special menu for May 4th (we're both huge Star Wars fans!) Initially we entered the parking lot and got discouraged with the length of the line but props to them for drawing such a large crowd!! The owner (I'm assuming he was the owner) was walking throughout the line for a little talking to customers and handing out a food samples (unfortunately he ran out before getting to us in the line). The line did take over an hour but overall given how busy they were, it was reasonable. When we got to the cashier he was very friendly and helped explain the menu items I had questions about. After that we only waited 8-10 minutes for our drinks and food to come out! We were lucky to get an indoor table but they have plenty on the patio as well. The staff kept the inside looking spotless given the huge crowd! The waffle was the perfect texture, good outside with a fluffy inside. We both loved our latte's too! Perfectly sweet without being overbearing. The carnitas bowl was tasty as well and loaded to the brim with tons of pork, avocado, and the side of chive cream was perfect! read more

Stefan made an amazing flat white with light honey. The coffee had an amazing, nutty flavor profile. The wizard theme made the experience very cool too. Felt like a virtual reality experience. Highly recommend swinging by if you have to drop somebody at the airport as it's a short 10 minute drive. read more
I can say, with a fair amount of confidence, that the strawberry latte I had here was probably the best latte I've had in the Phoenix valley. I tend to like my lattes on the slightly sweeter side (or maybe I've just had one-too-many burnt coffees?), and the amount of sweetness in this drink was perfect. The latte base had white chocolate and pistachio, which blended perfectly with their espresso. The drink was topped with a silky cold foam with a distinct yet subtle strawberry flavor. It was just blissful!! The vibe at The Coffee Builders is giving swanky bar, but in the daytime. It was interesting. It was very dark in there, but each table had a small tabletop lamp, giving the illusion like it's happy hour when it's not. The space isn't huge, but there were more than enough seats to accommodate a few lunch goers and remote workers like myself during the lunch rush. This place is a gem! Got here when they opened to work remote and the vibes were so quiet and just overall ~vibey af~ After a couple hours though they got super busy and stayed super busy well into lunch! Once you've got a nice spot and some noise cancelling headphones it doesn't really matter didn't get to sit at the outside patio but wandered out there a couple times and it seemed really nice with a lot more seating! Avden was AMAZING and very helpful! When I ordered my first drink (Cordially Yours from seasonal menu). Got it half sweet and it was delicious. I was a little sus if I should get it half sweet or not but she mentioned it's easier to add more than to remove She was also super nice and brought me my food and helped bus my table! Just overall the sweetest and very attentive! Austin was also very cordial when I ordered the Morning Glory breakfast item. Mentioning that it was a "great choice" which helped solidify my decision because ngl I was getting decision paralysis trying to get something I'd like along with it being a "bang for my buck"! The dish itself was good and easy to eat. The presentation came with everything stacked on this bread which was interesting. I enjoyed the meal minus the bread due to heavy texture preferences. On my way out I ordered an iced Strawberry Fields because I'm a sucker for pistachio. I should've ordered it half sweet though. it's not overly sweet but I prefer my drinks half sweet in general and didn't listen to my gut. After the ice melted some though it was a delicacy and I'd totally get it again. I also heavily judge places by their restroom and their restroom was so aesthetic (and clean!!!) 10/10 would come again for the ambiance alone. The seasonal drinks relating with the movies they play on the TV was a really cute change of pace, and the customer service was immaculate. read more
Stopped in on a Monday morning and was happy it was not super busy. The place is modern, clean and beautiful. I was welcomed in by friendly employees and asked if it was my first time. I was given a menu breakdown. I went with a strawberry oat milk latte and morning glory smørrebrød which is a Danish open faced sandwich. My strawberry latte was not super sweet and could taste the strawberry which I loved. The latte was super tasty. My smørrebrød was warm and fresh topped with bacon, shallots, hard boiled egg and cherry tomatoes. It was not super heavy and I really enjoyed it as well I was happy to check this spot out as they're only open M-F and I usually only go downtown on the weekends. Hopefully I'll get to pop in again soon on a weekday! read more

Stopped by Coffee Builders and tried the Iced Bourbon Vanilla Latte and the Iced Abuelita Coco--both were excellent! The bourbon vanilla latte had just the right balance of smooth coffee and rich vanilla flavor, with a subtle kick that made it stand out. The abuelita coco was delicious not too chocolatey tasting just the perfect amount. Presentation was on point--both drinks looked as good as they tasted. The service was friendly and welcoming, and there were plenty of seats, which made it a great spot to relax or get some work done. Highly recommend! read more

This place is absolutely amazing! I've been here twice and both times I had a great experience with the excellent customer service and also the delicious food. The second time I visited it was on a Saturday, we had a group of 5 with an elderly gentleman in attendance. It was busy and the line was long out the door. I went inside and asked how long the wait would be and the employee I spoke to was SO kind (I can't remember her name ). She offered for us to find a seat outside under the shade and said she'd send a waiter out to us to take our orders. This meant so much to our group. We then met Hayvon who was amazingly knowledgeable about the menu. He helped us choose our meal and drinks which were absolutely delicious. I was skeptical at first--how could any place have nearly perfect reviews? But they're 100% deserved! This is hands-down the best coffee shop in Phoenix. I've tried over a dozen local spots (not counting chains like Starbucks or Dutch Bros), and this one blows them all away. The coffee and food are amazing, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Amazing amazing place. Amazing service! A big group of us came by close to closing time and the staff here really took care of us! We were able to try lots of different drinks given we were in a huge group, but the standout star definitely has to be the FIRE AND ICE KENTUCKY FORWARD. An award winning drink for good reason! Will definitely be back. Coffee aside, the ambience, seating area and amenities really goes above and beyond what most coffee shops provide, so that's for sure a plus. Haven and Stefan are great ambassadors and gives this place a great reputation. Outstanding service. read more

[Adding more photos to my review.] A beautifully designed coffee shop that's very inviting. The coffee, tea and food menus all have plenty of options, and the food menu particularly drew my attention because it's unique - very different from the offerings you find at other coffee shops in the valley. The furniture is nicely crafted, and there are plenty of power outlets if you're looking for a place to work from. There is also an outside area with tables and umbrellas. It got a bit crowded at lunch time on a Friday, when I was visiting. I returned on a Monday morning. The breakfast options are tasty and the presentation is perfect! Straight up LEGIT!! We had the Fire and Ice cold brew drink, it was on another planet! Food was awesome and we spent some time chatting with Avden about what makes this place special. She said it's top down and the owner, Tom Porter, facilitates "the best environment she's ever worked in."
