Just rolled into town after an 8 hour car ride. We picked the crab shack on a whim. I'm glad we did. The staff was fantastic and the food was great. We got snow crab, shrimp, clams and crawfish fish with sausage corn and potatoes. We took our servers advice on seasoning. We added a bowl of chowder and the garlic noodles with crab. Two adults and two 12 year olds and we had way to much food. The prices were fair as we spent about $112 for dinner. When considering the amount of food we ordered it was very reasonable. Food is great. Yes pricey but well worth it if your in to sea food. All servers are very friendly and know the food well. My server was Nate he was very well oriented in the food variety and what is very popular he gave us really good attention we where a family of ten he was consistent on making sure we were enjoying our food and if there was anything else we needed he was on top of it. Didn't need to tell him what was needed he had a great eye on our table. Wonderful customer service will be returning soon. read more

This place is fantastic! If you're a southerner you know that crab/crawfish boils are always served in a bag over a paper cloth. You first put down a layer of white rice, then dump the contents of the bag on top of the rice making a sloppy, saucy, heaven. It's wonderful! Split the combo number two (medium crab sauce)with my boyfriend, and a fried calamari appetizer-- it was waaayyy too much food for two people. The crawfish could have been fresher, but I'll still give 5 stars because it did remind me of home and isn't bad. Note, it's extremely salty but you're given limes to neutralize some of it. read more

My first time in Long Beach in a very long time. After hitting the beach, a friend and I came to try the new craze. Good vibes , the music is POPPIN ! The food was great. The only thing was I wanted shrimp, crab, and lobster but there was no option for all three. We ended up getting the #2 combo and splitting it (good decision). My boyfriend and I just moved to Long Beach and we are big fans of seafood! Big fans! And as a celebratory dinner we ordered two pounds in separate bags and a pound of muscles. When we arrived home we immediately noticed that the bags did not have the usual amount of sauce--- like I have mentioned, we love seafood. So we have been to this specific Crab Shack before. We have supported this business during COVID---even here before moving to Long Beach. We immediately noticed the substantial difference in the quality and quantity of the bags. We walked back to Crab Shack after noticing this and requested that the manager (who's name is Adam, Andrew or something like that) redo it for us or give us more sauce. He asked us to take out the bags to see it. He said " it looks like there is sauce in there". And went on that the cooks always put the same amount in each bag, that there is a measurement of sauce in each bag. MIND YOU, we've been here beforeeeee that's why we were upset. We seems our shrimp with more than enough sauce before. Either he was lying or just didn't want to help us. He said he can give us TWO 2 oz containers. What?! Two . We were disappointment in the invalidity we received about our concern and the disrespect of offerring us two sauces. Like just make us happy and allow us to keep enjoy the establishment. We were not given the option to get it remade or get a new order. The food went to waste and I lost 70$ plus the generous tip I gave. We also had a spicy gumbo, I rarely like restaurant gumbo but there spicy gumbo was actually pretty good. The combo 2 was more than enough food for 2, well In our case. It also came with sausage, potatoes and corn. COVID era is such a difficult time! I praised The Crab Shack for providing outdoor seating, yet outdoor seating has only 6-7 tables. During this pandemic, they did the best they can. You order at the cashier, and they'll call you when the table is ready. You can order ahead and pay first before being seated, which they also told me that my food will be already set at the table. It's a very efficient structure to do that. I was called 30 minutes later and arrived to our table, yet food was not at our table. Also the table that I was seated at had very little to no shade. Therefore it was a weekend with the heatwave and I was not looking forward to eating spicy, steaming hot seafood under the sun. What I can say is that service was great. There's no servers, moreso of a busboy/runner (one guy) who provided our parchment paper and food. You only order at the cashier. They let us move our tables so I was under the shade, so no sweaty hangry girl anymore. Food was expensive, just as you expect at any cajun seafood place - nothing out of the norm. Yet The Crab Shack either in LB and even in Carson is always missing some type of flavor so I assumed it's not just a one location thing, but moreso a whole franchise. I love the crab shack it's always pleasant when we go. But we went Saturday and it's was a nice crowd , we actually got to sit down with our party of 5 soon as we walked in. Everything was fine til they gave us two bags , cut them open and my husband was eating his (or as we thought ) and my daughter was looking at the other bag and was going to eat it as well, and they gave us someone else's bag . This place is so yummy! I always get the shrimp with the mixed sauce (It's DELICIOUS), corn, sausage and potatoes. With an order or garlic bread. I tried the gumbo but I will stick with the shrimp. It's finger licking good. Oh and great customer service. I had a little issue with my order 1 time and Simon went above and beyond to make sure it was corrected and super polite. We were excited to try this new seafood place, but the food was bland, greasy, and salty. They had several taps on the wall, but no beer on tap and limited options in bottles. One time we even got a hard ball of white rice when we ordered delivery.
