After doing Uber/Lyft for several years, I realize how important it is to have a reliable quality dashcam in your car. I used to have one I bought online and installed by myself. After a year or so, the dashcam started going crazy. It kept showing there is no memory card when there is a memory card. Sometimes the dashcam did not even turn on and I did not find out until many hours later. What is the point in having a cheap unreliable dashcam that often goes wrong. I learn from my experience that shooting what is going on in the cabin is way more important than shooting what is going on in front of your car. During the last 3 years, over 1000 rides, I never needed to record the front of my car to clarify any incident. However, I already had more than 10 experiences with rude, disrespectful, or lying passengers. Some of them are even very dramatic. Although it only happens like once every 50 rides, the rider could really ruin your job if you do not have a camera to record what is going on when things happen. The dashcam I bought today is way more powerful than the one I had before. Not only can it record people in the backseat in the dark cabin clearly using infrared technology, also the dashcam can be turned on automatically while the car is parked, so that my car is still protected when parked. Moreover, the manager Gabe gave me very professional advice on what kind of device I need to help me pick out the device that is easy to use even though it is 100 dollars more than what I expected. After they installed the dashcam neatly with no wire exposed, he went though the operation with me and answered my questions patiently and clearly, so I don't have to go through the manual by myself and try to figure out how to operate my dashcam. I really appreciate that. From now on, I will feel much safer when I am doing Uber/Lyft. Even just last night, I had a passenger who talked to me very disrespectfully. I was driving 32 on a 35, and he said I was driving slow on purpose in order to make more money. I can only say he lucked out because he picked up my ride the day before I installed the dashcam. If he is in my car talking to me like that after today, he is so going to be on Youtube! After installing the dashcam, I can only say I can't wait to pick up another super rude Uber/Lyft rider, so that I can have some dramatic scene to upload on Youtube, which might bring me some extra cash if the number of views is high enough. After more than 1000 rides, I never had any need to record what is going on in front of my car. However, it already happened many times that I had rude, disrespectful or deceiving passengers. I wish I had a dashcam to record the situation to protect myself but did not. The dashcam store gave me professional advice on the device I need, showed me how to use the device smartly and answered all my questions patiently, so that I don't need to go through the manual by myself and try to figure out what to do with the options. Moreover, the dashcam was installed very neatly with no wire exposed and the car is still protected even when it is parked. I wish I had bought the dashcam 3 years ago when I got my car. That way, I will have so many dramatic Uber experiences that I can share on Youtube and it might bring me some extra cash if the number of views is high. Can't wait to pick up some rude and dramatically deceiving passengers like the ones I had before. LOL P.S. Even just last night I picked up a passenger at 4 am, and I first drive at 25 on a 35 because I like to drive at relaxing speed early in the morning when people just got off work I think they also just want to relax, and I never had any passenger who has a problem with that. He wanted me to go faster, so I speed up to 32 on the 35, and he seriously accused me and said that "are you trying to earn more money by driving slow". I told him I don't get paid more for the same mileage. Anyways, if he picks up my ride one day later after I installed the dashcam, he is so going to go on Youtube! read more

I purchased a Blackvue DR-430 2CH from their site, in the 64GB model. It cost $141. I was thrilled - great deal for it. Although it's an older model, it still performs fairly well. Unfortunately, according to the rep who called me about it - they didn't have it to sell. He's not sure what happened, whether they already sold it to someone else or what. They offered me the next model up at a discount. Their competitor had that same model listed for less, and I informed them of this. After some back and forth, I decided to go with the competitor, and I let them know such. The following day (before I had managed to place the order with their competitor!), I got a call back letting me know that they had reviewed what had happened, and would offer me the same price as the competitor, strictly as an apology for the mess-up with the out-of-stock clearance item. They even gave me an upgrade to the larger card size I needed for my use, which I very much appreciated. Five stars for effort, friendliness, and overall willingness to help a customer and make a life-long loyal supporter. Over the years I have purchased six cameras from The Dashcam Store and had them installed in multiple vehicles. They did a very good installation job, clean, wires hidden out of view. They walked me through the pairing process with my phone. Everything worked exactly as advertised. The cameras they recommended have a very good video quality, and handle hot Texas summers very well. On two occasions a camera failed. They asked me to bring the vehicle over, and just swapped it on the spot, free of charge, no questions asked. A few months ago The Dashcam Store installed a Blackvue DR900s 2ch plus a B-124 Ultra Battery Pack in a 2017 XT5 Cadillac in less than the 3 hours they said and the install was seamless and very well done. Zero problems, totally satisfied, and was glad that they were close enough to Waco to drive down to get it done. I purchased a DR750 from The Dashcam Store in October of 2017. They did a fantastic installation. About a week ago I noticed that the camera was not recording. Tried all the typical solutions to no avail. Contacted customer support and they advised me to send the camera to them for evaluation. My new BlackVue DR650S- IR is excellent - just what I needed for ride sharing. I was surprised at how easy it was to download the videos. I personally don't use the cloud feature, but the wi-fi system works great.
