Chris made our night. He gave us recommendations that transcended us to other worlds. Whenever we want to take our friends to a cool beach spot, this will be the place. We sat at the bar which often makes it a laid back atmosphere, however we were looked after by Chris. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and a joy to be around.

Busy place on a Sunday, about a 30 minute wait around 11:30 but the servers are very kind and offer great suggestions. All of the food and drinks were delicious and came out in a reasonable amount of time. The ingredients tasted fresh! Great spot to come to if you are in town.

Nice restaurant with good vibes. It was packed on a Tuesday night, but we had made a reservation and got in pretty quickly. The drinks and appetizers were good, but the portions were a little small - you'll want a few appetizers for a party of 4. I got the Korean Skirt Steak as my entree. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the portion was plenty to fill me up! The service was a little slower than typical American dining - not an issue, but just make sure you aren't expecting a quick in and out meal.

It was good. The Server was really nice and took his time with us and forming a connection with us. That gives 5 stars for service. Food was good? I mean it was nothing like insane, but it was good. It was a solid meal, the vodka pasta was good, just a little overcooked. The flavor was really nice though, kind of reminded me of Joey. The Wagyu and burger were also good, solid. Fries were super salty though but honestly I like them like that. Inside kind of reminded me of north Italia, the layout and open floor plan. Over all 7/10 dinner

Coastal California food fare with clean eats, warm friendly service with a smile staff and cozy atmosphere. Located in a very busy and popular street where street parking can be very hard to come by esp on weekends but we made it work and would come back. Shout out to Cassidy for the sweet hospitality!

We came here for lunch and we had a reservation. It took a couple minutes to get seated, which was no problem. Our server was very nice and friendly. I started with a drink, the Paloma, which was delicious. I ordered the seared tuna salad and ate the entire thing. My husband got the club sandwich with french fries and he ate everything as well. He added avocado to it, which made it even better. Food came out very quickly. Would definitely come back if it was in the area again.

Haven't been here in a while, but stopped by for a quick snack and drinks. The fries were exactly what I was craving. Soft and delicious, just like McDonald's fries. Yum! We sat outside, and since it was during the World Cup, the atmosphere was even more lively and fun. The service was quick and efficient. We were in and out in no time, which was perfect since we just needed a quick bite. Overall, a great spot for a casual stop.

The Henry caught our eye while we were walking around San Diego, so we decided to stop in for lunch, and we're so glad we did! We came in as walk-ins and were seated on the patio right away. The atmosphere was great, and the patio was the perfect place to enjoy lunch while people-watching on the busy shopping street. It definitely felt like a popular spot where people come to grab a meal, have a few drinks, and hang out with friends. The service was excellent, and our food came out surprisingly fast. Everything we ordered was delicious, but my salad was definitely the standout--it was so fresh and flavorful. If you're looking for a cute lunch spot with great food, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere while you're in San Diego, I'd definitely recommend checking out The Henry.

Henry's was one of the highlights of our Coronado vacation. The food was amazing, and the service was truly first-class from start to finish. We're especially glad we met Chef Isaac, who recommended Henry's. We're so thankful we took his advice and gave it a try! You can tell everything is made fresh and prepared with care. Our table ordered the California Bowl, Harvest Bowl, Ranchero Bowl, and Eggs Benedict, and every dish was outstanding. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were fantastic, and everything arrived perfectly prepared. Since we were on vacation, we decided we'd have dessert with brunch and I am so glad we did! It tasted like it had been baked fresh just for our table. If you're looking for exceptional food, outstanding service, and a restaurant that clearly takes pride in every detail, Henry's is a must-visit in Coronado. We'll definitely be back.

The ambience is great, very cool vibe! Food was equally amazing! We came in for a small lunch and had the sprouts & squash salad, short rib potstickers, and uptown cocktail! We finished it off with the molten butter cake - perfection!!!! Patrick was our server and made these recommendations and they did not disappoint! So delicious, we will definitely make The Henry a regular stop when we are in Coronado! Ask for Patrick, he was the best!! If you don't have a reservation, it's worth the wait.

I would have given this place a 5 but I couldn't do it bc the hostess is negligent, can't tell who's next in line and seats people however she pleases. This hostess, a young woman with brownish hair wearing cowboy boots this day told me the wait is 40m. I was fine with that. I was texted that my table was ready only 15m later. When I walked back to the restaurant, a couple with a big dog with no reservations got seated quickly. The hostess proceeded to ignore me and helped the person who was standing behind me. Either the hostess is partly blind or shes terrible at her job. Also, when I left, an elderly woman was putting her walker to the side, but sorta blocked the entrance. This rude hostess couldn't wait for the elderly woman to push her walker aside and just walked straight through with no regards to elderly folks. She could have done the polite thing, waiting until the old woman was done. That's just bad manners. That really bothers me. The inside of this place is very nice and the theme is fun and classy. My server was excellent. He was attentive and even cared for my dogs. I love that this place allow dogs inside and outside at the patio. This place is very spacious. The seats outside at the patio, however, was tight. Its very crowded. The neat thing is they have a bakery you can order from and sit at one of the patio tables thats in the scorching sun. I ordered their henry house salad. That's a nice salad. I also got a wagyu burger protein style. I chose coleslaw with it. The coleslaw was very delicious. I think the burger can use a little bit more flavor but still a fantastic burger. Id like to try other things next time. I think this place gets a solid 4 but since the host annoyed the crap out of me, it really lessened a would be great experience. People should be kind and respectful to the elderly.

The service was excellent so that's all I'm going off of. The menu did look pretty fire though, so I'd be willing to give it another shot cause for all intents and purposes, the other people in the restaurant seemed to be really enjoying the food! But anyways... I'm a skillet cookie connoisseur. Any place that has a skillet cookie, I'm going there SOLEY to order it. If I ever get married, instead of having cake, my guests will be having skillet cookies for dessert instead. Some might say I love skillet cookies even more than Scottie Scheffler. My love for skillet cookies runs deeper than the Mariana trench and I've been to more than (at least) 11 restaurants to exclusively try them out. With that out of the way... I'm horrified to report this is the worst skillet cookie I've ever had in my entire life. It somehow felt overcooked, yet undercooked at the same time. It was also like they cooked it at an angle. Because it awkwardly occupied 3/4ths of the skillet. It had the consistency of a cake but the taste of a cookie? It was like they couldn't decide whether or not they wanted to make a cake or a cookie. So instead, they decided to half bake something that was in between. I couldn't believe it. It was also completely lacking in the chocolate chip department. All in all, this skillet cookie had a worse performance than Michael Jordan during his high school varsity tryouts. I'll admit it too... I completely lied to the waitress when she came over and asked me how the cookie was. Instead of telling her the truth, I gave her two thumbs up and said, " it's good!".... It was not good. It was terrible! I'm a coward.

The burger wasn't the worst burger I've ever tasted, but was drenched in mustard and grease. The fries were bland and burnt, and the fish and chips had virtually no seasoning or flavor. Our server was sweet and somewhat attentive. She checked in right after bringing our food and then we didn't see her again until we were done eating and out of drinks. I'm not saying I wouldn't recommend giving it a try, but at that price point, I expected better quality food.

I'll review our dinner and then post the brunch review in a few days! First, the view is gorgeous. The Marriott Coronado has a gorgeous piece of real estate, facing the bay, the Coronado Bridge, and downtown San Diego. Dinner, Valentine's Day: VDay could be a big disaster but it went pretty smoothly. They had a 3-course prix fixe menu (plus an amuse & a glass of sparkling wine) as a special, or you could do their bar menu. Oscar was our server and he did a great job keeping us updated about how the kitchen was doing. Our drinks came pretty fast. I got a DAITIKI: cutwater tiki rum, lime juice, simple syrup & angostura bitters. I asked for it light on the simple - and it was a pretty impressive cocktail. Really well balanced, with a lot of different flavors going on. Yes & yes on this! Appetizers: I got their brussel sprouts with lime and honey glaze and marcona almonds. WOW! This was a wow dish. HUGE and fabulous brussel dish, for $16, with this view. Now I'm getting excited! We also got the guacamole which was good, though underseasoned. Entrees: my sweetie got one of the bowls (baja?) with carne asada added and liked it. I got a veggie burger - not yummy! Very weird patty, not tasty. However, the fries that came with it were good. SO... I had a great cocktail, a giant portion of exceptional brussel sprouts, and a bad veggie burger. Could be worse! Wine: I also got a glass of the JLohr Pure Paso red blend, which was very nice. Leathery but not too heavy. For dessert, Oscar advised us that we could order individual dishes from the prix fixe, and that dessert would be much faster if we ordered the Valentine's desserts instead of the desserts they usually serve. And yes, they came out immediately. Deconstructed strawberry shortcake. Flavors were good. Shortbread was a little dry, but very nicely seasoned. I liked the consistently of the chocolate mousse tulip, but found the tulip part (chocolate shell) very bland, not that interesting to eat too. Overall, some parts of our dinner were exceptional, the kitchen can be slow... and don't order the veggie patty! Otherwise this is a great place to come and enjoy our gorgeous city and have some yummy bites or drinks, and with very nice heaters. Thanks, Oscar and the team!

But my sweetie was in the mood for the buffet so we came here. On a weekday morning, it was a 30 minute wait for a table outside. I didn't mind terribly as I squeezed in a beach walk. But the food is not necessarily worth waiting for if you don't want a buffet. My sweetie loved the fresh fruit of all kinds and thought he got his money worth. The things I liked best were the custom-made omelette that you can order that's included with the buffet. I also liked the watermelon and the juice of the day, which was cucumber lime. The coffee was also very good. The croissants were not very good. The scrambled eggs were OK. You could add on made to order mini pancakes for three dollars. They were actually delicious, but it took a good half hour for them to come. If you really want a buffet and the price does not scare you, you will definitely find something to eat here and the patio is pleasant. But otherwise I don't particularly recommend the Veranda for breakfast. ENO is tasty, cheaper, and faster, even if it's mostly pastries and coffee.

Service great! Ambiance great!…read moreI love how the windows are floor to ceiling with a view of the sunset. We ordered ribeye medium rare. Most places say they do medium rare but its always overcooked. They did it right. We loved the mushroom risotto, whipped potatoes, and broccolini. Fried fish slightly overcooked but I still liked it. Don't get the miso cod. It's the saltiest thing I have ever eaten. Only real blemish in our dinner. I suggest everyone eat at this restaurant.

We decided to try Shorebird after seeing so many stellar five-star reviews on Yelp, so we went in…read morewith pretty high expectations. Unfortunately, our experience didn't quite live up to the hype. First, the positives: the location is great, the restaurant itself is really cute and aesthetically pleasing, and the hostesses were absolute darlings, friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I wish the rest of our experience had matched that first impression. Once we were seated, the service was pretty disappointing. Our waiter came across a little arrogant and almost as though he was too busy to really give us his attention. Ironically, after nearly dropping our drinks when bringing them over, he seemed a little more personable afterward. Still, we were rarely checked on throughout the meal. No real "How is everything?" or checking to see if we needed another drink, anything else, or eventually the check, just the basic things you normally expect when dining out. So, if you're looking for a date-night spot where you can have a completely uninterrupted conversation, this might actually be perfect because you probably won't be interrupted at all. But if you appreciate attentive service and an occasional check-in, our experience definitely fell short. The food unfortunately didn't make up for the service either. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't memorable or something we'd go back for. My fiancé wasn't impressed with his steak but decided to just eat it rather than send it back. We also noticed the table behind us send an entire burger back because it apparently wasn't prepared to their liking, so it seemed we weren't the only ones underwhelmed with the food. Overall, I can understand the appeal of Shorebird for the location and atmosphere, but based on our experience, the food and service just weren't at the level we expected after reading all of the glowing reviews. San Diego has so many great places to eat that next time, we'd probably choose to try somewhere else.

Enjoyed the beautiful view and relaxing vibe with a refreshing glass of rose and some good food…read more We got the lobster roll with fries, tuna poke and calamari. The lobster roll was fresh and OK sized. The tuna poke tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly. I was afraid the sesame rice crackers wouldn't be adequate for the amount of poke but it was just right. The calamari was tasty as well, although a few pieces were a little dry and over cooked. Overall a nice experience. The restaurant validates parking in the structure next door which was convenient and appreciated since there was an event at the convention center and they were charging $50 for parking.

By the time we checked in and got seated, the place had gotten very busy with guests from the hotel. We ordered our drinks and waited a quite a while before we were able to place our food order. My husband ordered the two eggs under the Fresh Start menu and I got the H&N Hash with scrambled eggs and a side order of sourdough toast. I was a bit disappointed with the hash because it had way more potatoes than corned beef which I had to search for between all the potatoes. The description mentions pepper and onions, but I wasn't expecting a sauce. It wasn't bad, just wasn't what I pictured. At the end of our meal, someone, who I believe was the manager, stopped by our table to check on us. She apologized for the wait and explained how busy they were, which we appreciated, but unfortunately, the food just didn't make up for it.
