Two. nights in a row the male bartender at Coranado "The Henry" was the rudest our party of 7 have ever experienced. We have frequently visited other Henry location and loved the level of service. Both nights we complained. The first night the managers expressed their apologies but tonight the manager could care less. Our group of seven have told numerous customers on Coronado about this terrible service from this one male bartender. Again we will go somewhere else from now on. read more

Patricio was amazing. The food phenomenal. The atmosphere really beautiful. We had the spicy tuna and crispy rice. We had the shrimp potstickers and my husband. I shared the skirt steak entrée. Phenomenal so good. We also because it was our 35th wedding anniversary shared the molten lava butter cake. Was better than we could've expected. So glad we didn't pass by. I've been wanting to come here for quite some time. And I'm so glad I finally did! It's a beautiful restaurant, well decorated, vibrant and seating isn't close together. Place is spacious and the open kitchen concept makes for good people watching. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The food was top tier. As a chef myself I pay attention to details. They hit the mark on flavor and presentation. We started with coffee and the Cinnamon Swirl French toast with apples and raisins. The first thing I noticed was FINALLY someone put enough butter on the French Toast! The bread they used has this buttery, baked sugary goodness that was noticed in every bite. The apple and raisins were soaked in some bourbon maple sauce that caramelized the pieces and gave it that golden caramel syrup that coated all the bits like a warm blanket. We mentioned we were going to share this dish when we ordered and when they brought it out, we both got a half serving on our own plates. That was a nice touch. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros Enchiladas, added rotisserie chicken. Great flavors, not too spicy, scrambled eggs were soft and not over cooked. I did find a couple small bones but it didn't negate any good from it. Staff was notified. Manager came to the table and apologized for the oversight. I told him at least I knew it was from a real chicken The coffee is good. I had some with sweet cream. It has a back end acidity so adding cream smooths that out nicely. Sabrina was a sparkling gem of a waitress. She is all smiles and exudes joy. We enjoyed talking to her and she was very attentive. (Management: keep this one, make her happy. Employees like her are far and few between. You're lucky to have such a well-rounded, kind person working for you.) They also have a grab and go pastry and coffee bar at the front. Perfect for a quick stop when you're out strolling around Coronado. I can't wait to come back to have a crack at the dinner menu. There are so many things I want to try! The Henry always have a lot customers whenever I visit Coronado, and their Yelp reviews seem to confirm that their food and service are excellent. With that, my husband and I decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint! We were put on a short waitlist but were called and seated within 20mins on a Sunday morning. The wait really wasn't bad as there are many cute shops to visit downtown, and there are copious outdoor/indoor seatings at the restaurant, so they turned over tables fairly quickly. We ordered their egg sandwich and California Burrito with steak. The portions for both items were huge, and they also came with sides of crispy potatoes. Both were delicious and hit the spot for the perfect Sunday brunch. Our waitress, though busy tending to many tables at once, was friendly and efficient. The three hostesses were not welcoming, seemed annoyed that we asked how long it was for a wait and when she said 35-45 minutes (with about 5-6 tables visibly available and several dirty) we asked to out our names in but were going to walk around. We came back after walking around and saw a few open seats at the bar and asked if we could just sit there and she said yes, so we did. The bar staff was also not welcoming or friendly- no smiles- and two of them appeared to be having some disagreement. Finding a breakfast place that is reasonably priced, can accommodate a large party, and takes reservations is not an easy feat! The breakfast menu is simple with standard items like a two egg breakfast, Avocado toast, and oatmeal. Their coffee menu is quite impressive! I decided to try The Dropout. I liked the blend of flavors, it was the perfect amount of sweetness. For breakfast, I decided to try the Flower Child Scramble. I had to detox with a the holiday food I've been ingesting for the the week and this breakfast was perfect. It was chock full of brussel sprouts, mushrooms, and kale. I think next time it would be best if it was with eggs whites to make it even more healthy. The potatoes were good, but a little harder than I preferred. It was my mom's birthday, so we got a free pumpkin spice cake that we all shared. I definitely want to check this place out for dinner one of these days! Really enjoyed everything about my dinner here with some friends on a Thursday evening in December. We were in Coronado to see the Christmas lights at the Del, and figured we'd make a night of it. We made a reservation (last minute so it was for 8pm). We got a lovely booth inside (the whole front is sort of open, so it was a little chilly, I wore my jacket the whole time, but my friends didn't seem to mind). The waiter was great, very friendly and attentive. I got a seasonal margarita and it was so yummmy. Then we got the warm burrata and brussels to share between 4 of us, again so yummy, all of us agreed. Then my sister and I shared the fish tacos and the bowl. Both were so great! Lauren our waitress was probably the most attentive, sweet server we have ever encountered, and the general manager Emilio Carranza went over and above any service we have had anywhere in the past. The au jus for the French dip tasted like basic, unseasoned broth straight from a container. The sandwich overall was bland, with the few bites that included horseradish being the clear standout. The side salad was a fresh mix of greens, but the dressing was essentially tasteless oil. My husband ordered fries, and those were actually very good. We also tried the bread pudding. It was decent but not memorable and would have been much better served with vanilla ice cream instead of caramel. The servers who did help us were kind, and the ambiance is truly lovely. read more

My rating overall is 3-stars for the following reasons: 1) I made a reservation for 2 outdoors at 1:30PM on a Sunday. Arrived to the host's stand by 1:43 because parking was tricky... host had marked me as a "no-show" because I was "over ten minutes late" and gave my table to another party. Most other restaurants have at least a 15 minute grace period, so I found this odd. Waited 15-20 minutes to be seated despite my reservation. Wasn't ideal. Service was also very slow. 2) the food is subpar. Ordered the French toast and the rancheros, both were served cold. The best part about the French toast was the vanilla cream and blackberry compote, both super fresh. The French toast itself was incredibly dry and bland. The Rancheros were very underwhelming and soggy, didn't appreciate that it was cold but given the speed of service sucked it up. I might give this place another shot (especially for the drinks), but food and service need attention. read more

The hostess who walked my friend and I to our booth was so friendly and lively. I loved her attitude! The food itself is so delicious -- we got a mix of breakfast items and savory, heavier items. Their brussel sprouts and short rib potstickers were definitely a 10/10, and a must have. These dishes were particularly flavorful. Everything is also pretty shareable, so ordering a bunch of different items would be ideal. I love the aesthetic and decor. It gives a very "brunch" vibe and I feel the take is different than other places in Coronado. There is indoor and outdoor seating, as well. Overall, the servers were attentive. Look through my reviews and you'll see this is the only time I've taken an offer from a restaurant asking me to revisit on their dollar. The Henry reached out regarding my previous review and offered to send me a gift card on the terms that I make a reservation and visit in my own, unexpected. Game on. Reservations in the books under a different name, no issues (though we used OpenTable this time vs phoning in). We were seated quickly and service was pretty speedy. Food and drinks came out quickly and everything was pretty good. The Brussels sprouts were a little too heavy on seasoning for my liking. Braised short rib & Ahi Tuna salad were delicious. On our way out we grabbed two bunt cakes to bring with us to the civic center, pumpkin and chocolate. The girl at the walk up coffee bar was very sweet and packed our stuff nicely.
