I came here the other day after my daughter's doctor appointment. i had never been but it looked appealing so i decided to try it out! I ordered a 16oz iced hazelnut latte with oat milk, and a slice of coffee cake. i thoroughly enjoyed the coffee and i honestly loved the coffee cake, so delicious and pretty soft as well! I was looking for a place for coffee while interning and came across this little spot bidden in the corporate buildings. Little did I know I would be coming there for lunch every day I worked from the summer until now. Firstly, there's no replacement for being personal and mindful. Donna, who is seemingly the only person working the shop, has been giving me good recommendations every time I visit and want to try something new. With how she runs things and how the shop itself feels because of the energy and vibes she puts out, you wouldn't believe that this was a franchised joint. I literally thought it was a mom and pops coffee shop ran by the sweetest person. I was being more mindful of what I was eating and Donna would be ever so helpful and help me find the options I very much needed. Second, The Lost Bean is a perfect spot especially in the given location and in the context of what they offer. As a college student who is getting immersed into the modern work life, the shop ideally has everything I need; Coffee for energy, food for when I'm in a rush and forget to pack, and a nice quiet vibe to take my lunch breaks. I will always actively choose to walk down and get my coffee here over the ones in the break room. I'll grab a frittata or a breakfast burrito, sit with a my AirPods on, and just unwind because that's how comfortable this place can make you. Lastly, there's a reason people come back and enjoy this place. From being a great place to study as a student to being prime for lunch/coffee breaks, this spot is ALWAYS packed with hungry people and smiling faces. And that, to me at least, is arguably more important than a Yelp review because you can see that the people really enjoy EVERYTHING about this place. Their menu is basic, coffee is mediocre, and baked goods are not out of this world. In addition to the mediocre food, the customer service is what takes the cake. The lady that was helping me was rude, seemed like she hated her job and didn't want to be there. When I asked if the baked goods were sweet, she said, " I think so ?" A , "I haven't tried them, would've been more helpful!" She was so crabby, and had the worst attitude I have come across. It doesn't cost anything to be kind!! Just wanted to give a shout out to my girl Donna, came in at 7:25 this morning and she was CRANKING OUT the coffees!!!!!!! Got through making maybe...8-10 drinks? in about 10 minutes, and did not sacrifice the quality, nor the latte art *heart eyes* (Plus she was juggling whole milk, oat milk, almond milk, and everything in between.) We make our own lattes at home and rarely feel it's worth it to buy them out, but this one was DEFINITELY worth it, we'd come back in a heart beat. I secretly hope this place stays lost because it's literally the best spot in the area! This Lost Bean location is newer than their original location in Tustin. I really love the modern clean vibes of this cafe, especially spacious and ample plugs, making this spot conducive for studying. Although they're tucked in corner amongst industrial buildings/offices, there's still a good amount of foot traffic here, but just enough to provide light background noise (if you're trying to study). The servers here also really take the time to greet their guests and answer questions about the menu. I wasn't too impressed by the vanilla I had ordered, but I think it served it's purpose for my needed caffeine boost. Not a terrible drink, but I do prefer my espresso a bit on the lighter side of taste. Also they do close a bit early, so that's the only unfortunate part, if you're trying to really set up camp for studying here. But over all, The Lost Bean Santa Ana is a great study spot that I'm adding to my list! read more

I've been here a couple of times during my lunch break, the setup looks good. They have the best chia seed pudding with strawberries, blueberries, and oats. I also ordered an Americano and tried the cold brew. The person that always helps me is Donna, I believe that she's the only one that works there. She is very kind, and patient, with me. Especially, my 1st time there. It was busy and I remember that I spilled some of my drink due to me being clumsy, I was embarrassed and she told me to not to worry, and that it's ok and that she will clean it. The Lost Bean Specializes in Organic coffee, I tried their Blueberry match off of their spring menu and was delighted. The drink is an amazing blend of berries and matcha and works so well together. The service was exceptional and I was very happy with my drink. This particular location has two individual study rooms that are available first come first serve which is very unique and nice if you prefer to study with a little less noise. If I could give SIX stars, I would! I've been coming here for over 3 years & it's Donna who really has me & bunch of others hooked on LB. Of course, the coffee is superior, but knowing that the person behind the counter actually cares about you, is something very rare in restaurants today. Donna is the heart of this place, and seeing her every time I make my visits is so special. While I would love to go on & on about Donna, I'm also here to set the record straight as I noticed that we have ourselves a Lost Bean Karen below & I would like to add a little bit of context to this incident. I don't really do reviews, but it just so happened that another coworker & myself witnessed this incident and I just don't like people that embellish! When my coworker & I entered LB last Friday 1/19, Donna graciously & immediately warned us to stay away from the self serve counter where the spillage had occurred (which I think was the trigger for Lost Bean Karen. She probably thought that Donna was intentionally humiliating her, when in reality, she was just doing her job.) As we were waiting to be attended, we couldn't help but notice the hostility coming from LB Karen (dirty looks at Donna & to my coworker and myself too!) We literally did nothing, but our friendliness with Donna probably made her upset. Donna did not in any way "throw a towel." Donna herself went over with paper towels and a mop to clean up the mess. Lost Bean Karen tried to clean up but then Donna told her she would take care of it (again, I think this also upsetted her.) Conveniently right across our parking lot, this location is spacious with multiple booths, tables, and private study rooms. You also don't feel cramped inside thanks to the open garage "windows" letting in plenty of light. During its, soft opening, The Lost Bean has a $2 special where we got to try to the Authentic Matcha Latte, Better Than Bulletproof, Nitro Cold Brew, Hibiscus Berry Tea, and Daily Brew. All great with the Better Than Bulletproof being the stand out. If you're looking for a flavorful pick me up, look no further. Solid place for quality coffee and drinks. Service was fast. The space itself, overall is nice and open, an environment I'd probably sit and hang with friends for a bit to have a conversation. Although there are spaces setup available to do some work, I found the music in that area a bit too loud and distracting. I'd recommended noise canceling headphones if going to do some serious work there. And the quiet rooms are not sound proof, so they're not great for taking phone calls but rather seem to serve as a "quieter" place to work. I was standing in line waiting to be helped with only one person in front of me. The barista was so engrossed in her conversation with the customer - which I get as she was preparing a couple drinks - until 5-7 solid minutes go by and I don't even get an acknowledgment of any kind; not even a "I'll be right with you" which is what most customers want - just to be acknowledged that they came in and are going to be helped. I drive out of my way to come to this location. It's inside the business area, so it's not easily visible from any major street, but totally worth going to. This location is nice, clean and a great place to read or do a little work while you enjoy your beverage. Beverages are off the chart good! I am not usually a matcha drinker, but I'm addicted to their matcha. It's great quality and for me, I don't like sweet beverages, and this is very subtly sweetened and to me, just perfect.
