Easy and quick ordering experience. They have touchscreens you can order from then you pick a buzzard and wait for your order. I ordered a chicken parm sandwich. It came out quick. Must have been a special because I 'm not soure if it's on the menu anymore. It was hearty. I could only eat half of it in one sitting. I also ordered something else for someone else. I didn't know if they wanted condiments or not so I grabbed a bunch of them. They use the Heinz Real brand if that matters to you. Also FYI, beverage wise, it seems like they only serve their own brand drinks or some type of unbranded drinks. So no Coke or Pepsi products if that matters to you. It's a fountain soda situation, so if you're eating there you can get refills easily. read more

Stopped by on a late Saturday afternoon on my walk down to the Embarcadero. The location caught my eye so I decided to grab a bite. Both indoor and outdoor seating offered, open floor plan inside. Initially I was going to grab a grilled cheese and tomato soup but opted for a burger, fries, and fountain drink bringing me to $20 and some change. Unfortunately, it was a pretty instant regret for me. The burger I had added on lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, raw onions, and the "melt sauce" and I was disappointed to see that the onions, jalapeños and sauce were quite literally just slapped on the burger. It was really messy from the moment I picked up the burger until the moment I was done. Meat was fine, nothing amazing about it. The side pickle was dry, definitely left out for some time. Fries were clearly seasoned with something but they weren't overpowering or strong in flavor whatsoever. Fountain drink is advertised as "vintage cola" which was good for what it was. One thing to note of this location, in the 30ish minutes I was there, I saw 4 random people walk through to use the restroom with only 1 gal having asked the gentlemen upfront for what may have been the code. While I didn't personally use the restroom, if it's open to all I can only imagine the inside. Another note, the gentlemen up front took a smoke break right outside the restaurant, super quick one but I'm not certain that he came back and washed his hands. At this point, I was losing my appetite. For all the marketing this place flashes around, I'm not sold on it being this great burger joint. read more

This time, I received an email promotion for a free Three Cheese Classic with any $5 purchase (up to $8.49 value), which can be applied to other Melted Classics. There were two self-order kiosks, but I waited at the counter since I needed help redeeming the Melt rewards and would need to upload my receipt after the purchase to earn points. All the employees were in the open kitchen area, and when I asked, one employee told me to either wait or use the kiosk. I explained I had Melt rewards to redeem, so I stayed at the counter. I ordered French fries ($3.99) thin-cut russets with Melt seasoning salt and redeemed my offer for the Steak & Cheese (Angus sirloin, provolone, cheese sauce, grilled onions, red peppers, and jalapeños on an artisan bun, regular price $12.99). The steak was shredded and mixed with melted cheese, and the fries with seasoning were something a little different from what I usually have. I was in town for the San Francisco Marathon and came here twice for burgers. I used to exclusively eat at Super Duper whenever I was in SF. However, for my most recent trip, I came here to check out their burgers. Both times, I placed my order while using one of their ordering kiosks and assigned a pager to my order. I had their Double Meltburger for dinner before the race and their Double Spicy Mission Meltburger after the race. The spicy mission was my favorite out of the 2 burgers that I had. Both The Melt and Super Duper uses different quality ingredients. However, I think The Melt has the edge on size and their cheese. Their burgers were much more substantial than Super Duper's. As for presentation, I would say that Super Duper does it better. Definitely, your mileage will vary as taste is quite subjective. I would have no problem going to either place. Service here was quick. Their to-go container and paper bag were very sturdy. Good thing as their burgers were deliciously messy! Don't forget the napkins! read more

I know this is a chain restaurant, but I had never heard of it before a recent trip to San Francisco. I was really pleasantly surprised. It's a burger and other sandwich shop that seems to have a specialty with melted cheese sandwiches. I had the chicken parm sandwich and the herb fries and I was happy. The MELTBURGER was big and yummy. It was around $10 something and I didn't have room for a side since I was full from the burger already. I would've prefer if they have a smaller size at a cheaper price since I don't want to be too full for lunch. I would come back to try the Philly sandwich next time. read more

Love this place! There area lot of nicer burger places in the city, but the variety here is through the roof. I've had the chicken Parm sandwich and mission double melt burger so far and neither has disappointed. For the price there are so many solid comfort food options. The crunchy, cheesy, savory sandwiches and burgers are just the best. Ordering food is very smooth on the screens, and the buzzers are convenient to use. There are a variety of seating options as well. And of course I love that it is open so late but not crowded, so it's nice to grab takeout or sitting down. I'll be coming back for sure. read more

We had just finished the NFL experience and were looking for some grub on an early weekend night. We got the bbq chicken sandwich, Cobb salad, and strawberry shake. Everything was good. The best item was the chicken sandwich. The bbq sauce was a bit sweet, so if u don't like that either see if u can order without it or get a different sandwich. The shake and salad were good, but unremarkable except for that the salad could have used some egg. Oh, we also got the Parmesan garlic fries. They were good but like many foods smelled far better than they tasted. We asked for an extra ranch for the fries and the server seemed put out but gave it to us.
