Always love the ambience of The Mercury. Wonderful service by Carol. She let us set the pace and was very helpful throughout the night. Started with martinis which were very good but a little pricey for a basic martini. Food was generally very good but again pricey ($62 for Halibut, $49 for risotto w/shrimp). Highly recommend the pomme Frites, dynamite topping, and the creamed spinach (although I would ask to hold the cheddar cheese on top of the spinach). The only disappointment this night was the dessert. We were excited to order a Grand Marnier soufflé. Unfortunately, it came out burnt and dark on most of the top. I was surprised they let that get out of the kitchen and even more surprised that they served it to us. I would've said something, but everything had gone so well for the night and we did have another dessert which was very good to go along with it. Also it would've taken a long time to make another soufflé, plus we had to get somewhere. Oh well it's rare but it happens.

Came for a work dinner. The bread was very good did not realize they served it with Pâté Not a fan. The steak was good.

Had a wonderful experience last night at the Mercury with girlfriends celebrating your birthday. We had Mercedes as our server and she was absolutely wonderful! She catered to every need and took pictures of us and celebrated with us made amazing recommendations. Food was great and the desserts were delicious. Ambience was wonderful. Overall a wonderful choice for this birthday celebration.

Everything little thing was over the top excellent as always!!! I ordered the steak tartare (divine) and my husband and I split the Dover Sole special. Hubba hubba....so good!!! The servers here work their tails off.

Service is incredible! Food absolutely delicious and great portions! My family and I went during lunch hour on Monday! They were quick!

The Mercury consistently impresses with high-quality food, stylish ambiance, and thoughtful service--perfect for a celebratory evening or an intimate dinner. However, it's not the quietest or most budget-friendly option. The fish dish I ordered was beautifully presented and full of flavor, though the portion was on the smaller side. Overall, a refined dining experience that's worth trying, especially for special occasions.

First time here in about 15 years. Me and the squad like to eat earlier so we got there at like 5:20. Promptly seated and attended to. Nice dark restaurant. Server wasn't familiar with cocktails or mocktails, so just didn't get a drink. But here's what we ate: -crab dip - huge pieces of crab! Tasty -caterpillar roll - sushi had good taste but rice and wrapper lacked some quality -crunchy tuna roll -Brussels good but pieces too big, I like them smaller and crisped up -twice baked potato's A+ -salmon nice and healthy but missing a little flavor -ribeye pretty good, no complaints Overall pretty good with some variety!

I'm probably here once a month at the point! The Mercury has the absolute best food in Dallas. You must try their grapefruit Kampachi. I have to get two orders every time I'm here because I'm obsessed! The toro nigeri cannot be beat. Another must here. Please trust me. The yellowtail jalapeño is another must. Don't skip on the cream brûlée. It's the best I've had at any restaurant. And ask for Brad. He's the best, and we always sit in his section. Want the best drink in Dallas? Ask for Monica. That woman knows how to pour a lean drink! 5 stars!

It's been years. Celebrating friend's birthday this Saturday night. Lively old school steakhouse vibe. Nice but not impeccable service, including not taking un-used glassware away; serving of next course while the prior course was still being enjoyed. As for dinner, absolutely delicious was their "Lobster Tacos"; no dressing, sparsely scattered of greens "pear & gorgonzola salad"; tender and tasty "lamb shank"; and, ending with great pours of hot coffee and a fantastic slice of "12 Layer Coconut Cake". A longtime Preston Hollow institution. "Here's looking at you, kid" CHEERS!

Theirs was the perfect consistency and had hummus at the bottom, which was interesting and tasty. The scallops were really well seasoned and perfectly cooked. People in our party of 5 had been to Fort Worth and really enjoyed it- especially the corn crème brûlée.....So we tried Dallas. Would direct people back to Fort Worth. I can't recommend our server, he was transactional, short and not interactive and it was as if he was in the wrong position. Other servers seemed welcoming and friendly. The bread was DELICIOUS! The food was decent. I enjoyed my lamb chops(although more rare in spots), but not the mix that was underneath it. The two that got the salmon said it was ok, a bit overcooked and they also didn't care for the mix underneath. The filet was stupendous and the cowboy was really delicious. They really liked the mac&blue cheese- if you don't like blue cheese, I would steer clear! Portions were good. I guess stick to the steaks! The vanilla/sprinkles circular layered birthday cake with a huge sparkler candle was awesome! It WAS included-complimentary, and it was a large portion!!

We were huge fans of Meddlesome Moth(which had closed a few months prior). The beer list didn't excite me(I'm a beer snob) but the bar vibe and the great staff quickly made me forget about that. We eat there twice a month now and when we don't get in on a regular schedule, we really miss it. I'm a huge fan of the steak frites and my wife loves the weekly pasta dishes which never disappoint. The cocktails are great and they're made by the friendliest barkeeps in town(Matt, Christine) Christopher keeps the place flowing and Brittani(owner) is great and always welcoming. The overall vibe is comfy and totally unpretentious. Goldies is a hidden gem but has quickly become a popular spot. Great spots like this don't stay hidden very long. Highly recommended! Carter L

Food, however, wasn't great, we came multiple times last year and it was fantastic all around, last night?... New risotto appetizer was flavorless 4/10, sauce was outstanding 9/10. Chicken meatballs were 6/10, salty, but sauce again was 8.5/10. Bread with the meatballs was 9/10. Nightly special was 9/10, chicken thigh wrapped chicken leg, amazing sauce and carrots. Special sauce with the nightly special stole the night at 9.5/10 - I'd order a bowl of that and call it a night! Magic Chicken Thighs were 6/10, overly salted and dry - side arugula salad was a salt bomb 2/10. Sweet potatoe purée was 7.5/10. Burger and fries were 7/10, solid and above average. Salmon was 7/10, slightly overcooked. Mac & Cheese was 3/10, below average, dry, almost flavorless - paid $4 for bacon topping and it was dry also. Noodles were dried out and the cheese sauce was at the bottom of the cup, tasted like they scooped in pre-made noodles, added sauce, threw it in the oven and off it went - didn't appear mixed together at the least. Carrots, solid 8/10. Overall, I'd be tempted to give it another try, the ambiance and overall feel is awesome - then hope the food is great again and make it a perfect Friday night spot, but for $275 for the 4 entree's, 2 appetizer's and 2 drinks we got last night? I'd argue it wasn't worth it.

The freshly grated Parmesan on top was chef's kiss. Tuna and Avocado Roll: this was fresh and paired nicely with the sauce. 10/10 **Entrees** I got the Joey Classic Steak (on accident lol) but I'm not disappointed. The steak was cooked perfectly. The "crispy mashed potatoes" were unexpected lol. They were more like mashed potato eggrolls/flautas, but tasted fine. Id give this plate a solid 8/10. I ended up only ordering a drink and an appetizer because I was so disappointed I didn't want to go further. $23.75 Joey Martini - just a simple dry vodka martini w Kettle One. But the description lured me in with the promise of a fantastic martini with an "extra martini on the side". What I received was a half of a martini with the rest of my martini in a shaker next to it. The martini was fine but nothing special. Not the first time I've overplayed for a drink but I do feel a little funny about the way their menu sold me then undelivered. $19 Hummus - The food was an issue for me though. When I order Hummus, I expect to receive hummus. Like the dish should be 70-80% hummus with some light toppings and some good pita bread. What I received was a pretty plate but very little actual hummus and a disaster of pita. First, they made a pretty plate circle of a small band of hummus then filled it with extra stuff to make it APPPEAR as if the center was filled with hummus yet there was zero hummus except for that small outer band. I estimate 49% hummus and the rest tzatziki and garnishment. Don't get me wrong, very aesthetically pleasing and tasty "extras" but the menu item isn't titled "EXTRAS with a little hummus". It's titled "Hunmus". And the pita... oh boy, what a mess. Proper pita is lightly grilled - served warm with a nice sponginess yet bite friendly approach. This pita was way over saturated in their butter/oil, and crisped up to the point there were burn marks and char on every piece. Horrible pairing with hummus and JOEY should know it. I feel these other reviews may be fake honestly as the prices are insane and the execution quite poor. Be careful. $45 for a $15 meal isn't worth it. Go somewhere else - I'm including a pic of the "hummus" reveal so you see what I'm talking about

Upon entering you're met with dim lights, deep burgundy leather seats and images of musicians painted in every corner. The restaurant is absolutely stunning! Our table wasn't quite ready so we were asked to wait at the bar for short while. We started the celebration early by ordering a few drinks and by the time they arrived, our table was ready. We were lead to a large half moon shaped booth nestled in the corner; which was large and plush. Plenty of room for us four and honestly at least two more people. On our table was a place card that said Happy Birthday to my partner which was a nice touch. Our waitress arrived and very pleasant and helpful. She asked if we had questions and gave us some highlights of the menu. We ordered another round along with Meatballs Troubadour, the Heavenly Sourdough and Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. The Heavenly Sourdough and Meatballs Troubadour were absolutely the stars of the show! The meatballs were flavorful and juicy. The marinara sauce paired wonderfully with the sourdough. For entrees, Dry-Aged Delmonico, Pomme Puree, Crispy Brussels, Honey Truffle Chicken and Whole Lobster Spaghetti. All the food was divine!
