    Maple Tahini Latte
    Anna H.

Honestly can't stop thinking about how good this maple tahini latte was. The service was quick for a busy Saturday

The pumpkin muffin was delicious! It tasted very similar to a Starbucks pumpkin muffin, just without all the sugar. I felt good even after scarfing the whole thing down! It tasted like body fuel, not junk. But not too much of a "healthy" taste (if that makes sense). I loved it! The blueberry muffin was full of whole blueberries and soft. The banana bread had a good distribution of nuts and wasn't too sweet. It was delicious. The service during my Too Good to Go pick up was terrific. I was greeted with friendly warmness and was clearly welcome in the restaurant. She was also very happy to share information about the restaurant--it made me very interested to come back and try the regular menu.

The Meteor is an extremely cool café, coffee shop, cyclery, etc. in the very hip South Congress neighborhood of Austin. There's places to work inside and an awesome patio around back. The sister cycle shop is next door, and a very interesting place worth investigating as well. Check it out.

They have Fronk's milk! It's delicious... but be prepared bc it's expensive ($10-11 for a drink with it). Definitely worth it for a treat!

If you anywhere near S. Congress you NEED to STOP HERE! Great Austin ambiance relaxed, natural & if you need a cup of Joe (I prefer cappuccinos and theirs are FAB ) you won't be sorry add a fresh donut, scone and YES! breakfast tacos or one of their other delicious baked goods and you'll be on a meteor straight to Heaven By The Way! excellent Chocolate Chunk Cookies for your afternoon snack. Ample seating inside with WIFI plus a nice selection of natural wine & merch if your in need of a lil something, outdoor seating too if your bring your pup . Also located inside is a PIZZA oven so later when the hunger starts you know where to go to satisfy that cheesy, tomato with dough carb load. Eat in or Take Away, Burgers, salads, fries, soda & beer also served.

This pita lunch is a perfect combination of flavors and it pairs perfectly with a cider on tap. The team at the Meteor is one of the friendliest I've encountered in Austin and the atmosphere is pitch perfect. It's like stepping back in time but living in the now at the same time. Trust me on this.

Whether you are looking for wine, great food, coffee, or a bike tune up, The Meteor is the place to go! I loved the food and coffee so much I went the next day and had the same thing I also like the interior of the cafe. It's pretty cool, modern, and spacious. There seemed to be many outlets if that's something you are looking for. The service was good and my food came out quickly. I don't live in Austin but I would definitely come to The Meteor again when I visit!

The Meteor Caesar with Chicken Sausage

Good place to post up and get some work done. Everything is a bit pricey, but I figured it's the fee for using the space to work. The Caesar salad is good but again, $20 is a little crazy for a plate of lettuce. Banana bread was decent, would definitely be better with chocolate chips. Service is fast and I like that they have free match boxes.

Great fasting coffee with some pastries but a huge selection of wine. Love the ambiance and both indoor and outdoor seating. Only wish there was more parking out front. They are also known for their sourdough pizza which I will have to try sometime.

    Do they have live music?

Nope. And neither did I see any room for a live band. But who knows if they decide to offer a cozy corner to a musician. That would be nice!

But I enjoy new experiences and menus with eclectic dishes. The menu had few choices for breakfast and I was unsure why it was suggested as a breakfast place. It's actually a good place to eat any time of day! The beautifully decorated patio provided the perfect welcome into their modestly decorated air conditioned restaurant and bar. When I say bar, it's more like a 1950s bar that you can sit at and have a meal at. Although drinks and meals were offered any time of day! The waitress was pleasant and helpful in suggesting add ons with my meal. But being a purist, I wanted to try it as intended. The food arrived in the normal amount of time. When I first saw my mozzarella omelette I was a little surprised! It didn't look anything like what it was described as! Oh well! I thought. Let's give it a try! My taste buds were happily amazed! Could this omelette smothered in mushroom gravy, green "pesto" and bread crumbs be the best omelette I've ever had?! The mushroom tomato gravy was so smooth! Along with the cilantro avocado topping. That tasted more like pesto, gave it the perfect zing! I had wished I the had ordered some toast to dip in the sauce. I could have done without the bread crumbs. But they were easily swept to the side. The amount of mozzarella cheese in this omelette led me to believe it was more of an omelette lasagna than a plain old omelette. This place is definitely a must if you are visiting Austin!

Ample amount of food and def had take away box. Everything was tasty and the buttermilk pancake was amazing with just syrup. Melissa was kind enough to provide little cups to take syrup home along with the tael away container. They had a daily special and a board above the kitchen with other items. We were both starving and this place is open 24/7. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.

It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. There's no big sign on the window indicating the restaurant's name, just a plastic A-frame sign outside the building's doors. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I believe you can also place your order online using the QR code on the table, but I didn't try that method. I ordered the lox n found, a toasted croissant roll with smoked salmon, avocado, dill ricotta, arugula, onion, and capers.
