I finally made it to The Mimosa House in downtown Sacramento and wow--what an experience! This spot is always busy, and for good reason! I've heard nothing but great reviews, and now I see why. First off, the mimosa selection is incredible--I was in heaven! I went with the Baja Sunrise, and it was absolutely delicious. As for the food, I couldn't resist trying Mom's morning tacos, and they were fantastic! Of course, I had to add avocado--my fav topping! The service was excellent; we had reservations and got seated right away. Our server was very attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Came here for a 7am bfast. Service was good. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 sausages. Food was okay. Not bad. Just not as flavorful as I wanted it to be. Recently visited in the early morning for breakfast. Only a few parties seated, so plenty of open seating available. I can see how this place can get super busy later in the day. Our orders were put in, and not too long coming out. We ordered the waffle and banana pancake combo. We enjoyed our meals that we each finished it! Sooo I should've listened to my Yelp buddies' reviews before coming here, but my in-laws swore by Mimosa House's other location in Gold River. This was an overall unpleasant experience. From trying to find parking, to the dining environment, from the food to the coffee. I unfortunately cannot recommend this spot to anyone. First off, it was nearly impossible to find parking. When we did, we had to park on the street in a neighborhood and walked in the rain to get to the restaurant. Once inside, it was loud, crowded, and stuffy. I couldn't even have a conversation with my in-laws; it was that bad. As people are waiting for a table, they congregate indoors, causing the hostess to scream at the top of her lungs to redirect them outside. Our server was nice enough. No real complaints about him. But the coffee baffled me. I ordered a brown sugar coffee (which by default is made with oat milk) and to my surprise, came topped with real whipped cream. This wasn't listed on the menu. Now the food. I opted for the veggie scramble and house potatoes, assuming they'd be preferable over the hash browns. I was wrong. This scramble was wet and reminiscent of pre-chewed food. The potatoes were even more wet; not a single crunch was heard. I nibbled on what I could and we left as soon as possible. Overall, this place is loud, disorganized, and unappetizing. When I walked in I had this feeling that I was at the service entrance. Maybe I was, I don't know. There wasn't any signage near the entrance on H street. I couldn't tell but I followed a couple in and they seemed to know where to stand as there wasn't really a concierge, just a bar on the right and a a barrier on the left. Im guessing someone called out or they were having staffing issues but those ladies were busy. I was hoping this was a good sign, because alot of people and a busy spot means good food right? Eventually we get seated, I got to say I came to realize pretty quickly that the ambiance for me at 930am on a Friday was not for me. It was pretty loud. I mean, I guess I should have realized that with a name like "mimosa house", it's catering to a very specific subset of folks. All good though, I can hang. It was a bit loud but no biggie, just keep it in mind if you are going to roll through, this isn't intimate brunch, this is party brunch, shake off the hangover into a nice day drunk brunch type of spot. the menu is gigantic. I am writing this to share an incredibly disappointing experience at this location. My friend arrived at 10:30 AM and after being seated and receiving water she was then ignored by the staff. No server ever checked in on her while she waited for the rest of our group to arrive. Once we all arrived, we waited another full hour just to get someone to come over take our order. By that point, my friend had already been waiting for 1.5 hours. Our food did not arrive until 2.5 hours after her arrival. Because of this extreme delay, my friend had to leave for another commitment before the food even hit the table. She never got to eat her meal. While management compensated my friend's meal, a free meal does not give us back our wasted time, nor does it feed a guest who had to leave hungry due to server and kitchen negligence. Waiting 2.5 hours for a meal while being completely ignored by the service staff is unacceptable. We will not be returning. read more

I was just here yesterday for a Galentine's Day brunch with my sisters. For starters, we got the the Oreo Toasties. The moment we got a bite out of them, we were in love. We also got Truffle Herb Fries and they were scrumptious. As for main dishes, I got the Roseville omelet, my younger sister got chocolate chip pancakes and my older sister got a Benedict. The food was edible I ordered the SF skillet, I substituted the cream cheese and parmesan for cheddar. They literally place a slice of cheddar on top. I'm not sure if it was real cheese because it didn't melt and was hard around the edges and oily. The chiliquilles were sub par, it looked like they dipped the chips in sauce and that was about it. So basically it was chips with eggs. The server had no enthusiasm. I'm pretty sure it was too early for him because he still had sleep around his mouth. They offered indoor or outside seating, I opted for outside. Well the tables and chairs were dusty. I understand it is outside however, whe I arrived there were several servers gathered together chit chatting. Very poor customer service are they even trained? Just left and I had the worse experience of all time. Its my little sisters bday and I wanted to enjoy mimosas with her yet I am sober I asked for a mock mimosa the server WHO I CLEARLY TOLD "I'm looking for NA with no pineapple due to allergy" he said that's no problem we can do that. My first time coming to the Mimosa House in East Sacramento. Centrally located with a private parking lot indoor and outdoor covered patio dining. Urban hipster vibe with extremely friendly service. I ordered the bacon, egg, spinach & mushroom omelette with hashbrowns and sourdough toast. The omelette was huge and the hashbrowns were absolutely delicious. My son ordered the linguiça omelette along with a banana pancake that was as big as the entire plate. I will definitely return and I highly recommend this restaurant. We arrived around 9:30 AM on a weekday, and there was plenty of seating. On the weekends I have driven by, and there is waiting that goes out the door. The service is pleasant and very efficient, and the food is good. It's a cute place. Will go again. Only issue was that it was very hard to hear each other as the dining area is lots of echoing hard surfaces, so we were shouting at each other. Other than that, it was great. A group of friends out in a joint doordash order for delivery at 10:30 am on a Saturday. By 11am, we had our feast in hand. I ordered the ultimate chorizo & eggs with corn tortillas and a Bulldog Bloody Mary. Everyone in our party ordered a Bloody Mary, and everyone was missing the bacon garnish. This is a key feature of the beverage and we were very disappointed it was missing. The food itself was OK quality. In my opinion, not all to-go orders are created equal, and the subpar quality could be due to eggs not traveling well - the tortillas were soggy and the underside of the avocado was almost entirely blackened/overripe. The cowboy burrito that my friend ordered seemed to fare better than mine, so perhaps sticking to burritos is the safer bet when you aren't dining in? And there it is folks, the FIRST one star review I have EVER written as an Elite! It finally happened! The worst brunch experience I've maybe ever had. I hate writing bad reviews, but Mimosa House, you left me little choice! The Mimosa House is a breakfast-place chain in the Sacramento area. I had never heard of this place until a family-member recommended it. (And I'm not letting him pick a restaurant EVER again! Nope, that ship has sailed and those privileges are revoked lol). The 'Mimosa House' location my wife and I met him at was this J and 57th St spot in East Sacramento. I hadn't seen this family-member in a while and they swear by Mimosa House. Although to be fair, he had never been to this specific location and frequents the one in Gold River. Mind you, my wife and I saw a 3.5 star review and had low expectations going in. I figured this place would be on some no-frills, 1990s IHOP vibes (lol). That's what I envisioned going into this experience. And as depressing as it sounds, I wish it was even that mediocre! The Mrs and I were supposed to meet this family-member at the restaurant at 11am this past Sunday (which of course is prime brunch time). However, for some ridiculous reason there are only 8ish parking spots out front. There's a dermatologist office next door that offers parking for Mimosa House customers on weekends, but that lot was also overflowing. My wife and I drove in circles for 15-20 minutes looking for a spot or waiting for somebody to leave, yet nobody did. We ended up parking a few blocks away and had to walk in pouring rain. While obviously this is not directly on the restaurant, and it was a Sunday at brunch, the chaotic parking experience was a precursor of what was to come. Upon entrance the vibe here is WEIRD. It's poorly lit, dirty, and EXTREMELY loud. I'm talking "people screaming at each other" loud. I have no idea why it is so chaotic here. I've eaten at a million brunch places that offer mimosas and yet have never been somewhere where ear plugs would've been nice to have! Additionally, patrons are allowed to congregate en mass by the front door and next to where people sit. This makes it very difficult to move about the restaurant. It is absurdly hectic and disorganized. And is somewhat anxiety producing! To make things even crazier and circus-like, hostesses have to SCREAM peoples' names at the top of their lungs to get their attention that their tables are ready! Weird, huh? Luckily my family-member had grabbed a table in the corner when my wife and I were circling the parking lot(s) . Our server was fine, and I actually felt bad for him. He looked completely overwhelmed and exhausted from the ensuing chaos. To start we ordered coffee. My wife and I got the 'Brown Sugar Coffee,' which was an iced espresso with brown sugar and oat milk. It arrived 50% whipped cream! Like something for a little kid! It legitimately looked like a milkshake. And for having such a huge menu, they don't have anything that looks remotely appetizing. I mean literally nothing. Not one thing! So I ordered their 'Veggie Skillet' with hash browns, as I figured that would be a safe choice. Big mistake! My meal was was hardly edible. Mushy eggs, weird-tasting vegetables (that didn't even go with the the rest of the meal), and nasty hash-browns. Nothing was crunchy or crispy and nothing tasted fresh. Soft, strange food. Everything was greasy, bland, and disgusting. It tasted as if somebody microwaved some MREs and combined them all together! Maybe the nastiest breakfast I've EVER had! I felt like complete garbage for HOURS after eating here. Super low quality food and a poor experience. I couldn't even hear my wife or family-member talking for the majority of the meal due to the chaos surrounding us. Once we we paid we couldn't run out of there faster! Eating here felt like a Twilight Zone episode. Mimosa House is such a strangely run establishment. Anyone who follows me and reads my Yelp reviews knows I have a low "Karen" tolerance. I am the definitive ANTI-Karen! So it really takes a lot for me to write reviews like this. However, our entire experience was THAT poor. It was beyond words the ultimate Chilaquiles was freaking amazing their potatoes amazing as well. I recommend 10 out of 10 would do again and will do again before I leave. And wow the atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for we immediately were greeted by this amazing young girl named Alexis she had great public relations. We were then greeted by Ruben who took our orders he is another amazing young man that was patient kind and made sure that we comfortable and taken care of. And Tori she was so sweet so energetic made sure we had an extra caramel to Sweet it up the apple caramel mimosa cocktail which was amazing. And very important Edgar the chef I literally wanted to meet him so I could tell him face to face what an excellent cook he is. The Mimosa House on J Street is my favorite spot for a weekday breakfast. Grab a seat at the bar if you can--the service is way better there, and you'll avoid the weekend madness. Yes, it's loud (always), but the food makes up for it. I can't quit the breakfast fried rice--seriously, it's that good. I switch between adding chicken or shrimp depending on my mood, while my friends swear by the biscuits and gravy (i've tried it too, and it's pretty good)! I've never had a bad meal here, though service can be hit-or-miss unless you're strategic about where you sit. The only real downside? Parking is a nightmare. Got our waters 15 minutes after we sat down and our mimosa bottle service 15 minutes after that. 50 minutes after we sat down we got our food and everyone was satisfied with their dishes. We went on a Saturday morning and it was super busy so that was a great sign to see a full restaurant . I love that there was so many options of mimosas and our waitress was so kind to give us some recommendations because we were kind of overwhelmed with how many there was. The drinks were great! The food though was honestly really bad. I went there today after being in the area for something else. Just FYI for those who have never been there, parking lot is small and you might have to park on the streets. I ordered a mimosa and it was great. Definitely got me feeling good and relaxed. I ordered no meat combo with scrambled eggs and hash browns. The portions were just right for me. Our establishment is called The Mimosa House and for good reason... they have an extensive adult beverage menu which includes customizable Mimosas. Our selection had parking, indoor and covered and heated outdoor seating. Fortunately, we did have reservations for it did not take long on this Sunday for the restaurant to reach the "line out the door" status. We were sat immediately and the customer service and food presentations exceeded expectations. The French toast, tacos, pancake and rice were quite delicious and, no doubt, should always be ordered. However, the tables lacked any salt/pepper to give the eggs flavor, the sausages were not extraordinary, and somehow their timing went askew. They did apologize for having lost our taco order but did not compensate us on their mistake. They did taste wonderfully when we did eventually receive them. This restaurant is a wonderful place for both family and business gatherings. One just must know what to order for, as with many restaurants, they do have specializations. read more
