    Brisket and Mac plate
    Rick P.

While on work assignment in Fort Bragg, I noticed a BBQ place, The Q. Since I was staying overnight, I decided to check it out for dinner. The establishment is clean and has indoor and enclosed patio seating. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I decided to take my meal to go even though there was no one dinning in. I ordered a 1/2 order of brisket and a side of Mac-n-cheese. As my picture shows the portions are small ($20). I was somewhat disappointed with the lack of flavor. The brisket was tender but lacked flavor. It also lacked bark. The Mac was just there but not cheesy and savory. I added their signature "tangy" sauce but didn't really help. The Q offers oysters, ribs and chicken as part of their menu. Not sure if I'll come back for more.

Was excited to try the oyster sampler, they weren't terrible but I've had better grilled oysters. I should've known, the grilled oyster pix were from 7 years ago! Won't order them here again. Fish n chips were grilled when i wanted bettered, again, I should've known! Perhaps this place is solely bbq meat and links Noted.

    Rock fish

The man at the register was very nice and helped me with getting a variety of food. I got the oyster sampler platter... my favorite were the jalapeño and cheese and the Cajun (not too spicy) I had the local rock fish that was perfectly cooked and the beans were amazing!! Can't wait to go back for the bbq!

Not busy on a Sunday evening we were sat at a table in the lounge/bar which was off to the side with a huge window. Pretty much immediately the waters were poured and french bread arrived, not many places starting with free bread these days. M ordered up a Mai Tai and I had a bottle of sparkling water. It took us a bit to go through the menu, I like to see if I can get a variety of items to add some excitement to the palate.... First up the chef's Clam Chowder, this version had some small dice vegetables, was a good medium thickness, and off white in color. Unfortunately the vegetables and diced potatoes made the clams and flavor secondary, in my opinion. That was followed up with six triangle shape won tons with a tasty mix of shrimp and sauce. Dungeness crab cakes were delivered and we each took one of the breaded and fried 3ounce or so cakes, plenty of crab and they were good. Ceviche was great and plenty of shrimps to enjoy with the house made tortilla chips. The Spinach salad hit the spot and finished our buffet of choices nicely. We took a slice of Lemon cheesecake back to the room for a treat later. The service was attentive, average. Everything was good but I didn't feel as though anything was outstanding. Thank you for the meal Martin-Foodguy

From what we can see there is no signage on the restaurant with the name on it or we totally missed it. It's not a new restaurant. It's got that homey feel to it. I'm guessing it's a mom and pop shop, a small business. And we should support those local all businesses and not hit up Dennys if we can. We waked in at 7:08an in Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The place was quiet. One others gentleman was there. When we left a party of 3 were just settling in. They have a full menu two sided that they hand out upon entry that is laminated. You are welcome to sit anywhere. We chose a window seat in the front corner. The temperature was pleasant inside and I was able to shed my heavy jacket and was comfortable in my jeans and a light sweater. They have 2 whiteboards of additional specials. We got the bacon, cheese, and bacon omelet with a side of potato's and a biscuit. You have choices of toast, pancake, or biscuit. As for potatoes you could have gotten a potato patty instead. The servings were huge. We only ate half and were full. Now we have leftovers for tomorrow's breakfast. The potatoes were real fresh potatoes. Some still had the sling on them. They were cooked on the griddle. I should have asked for mine extra crispy as I like crispy potatoes. They weren't salty or really seasoned at all so I added some salt and paired it with ketchup. Very tasty. The omelette was chuck full of crispy bacon and avocado , it could have used more cheese. The biscuit was light and flaky, but it lacked the buttery flavor. It was a true big biscuit that was home made. There was an array of jams and jellies to choose from and peanut butter. We chose apricot. Overall it was a good breakfast and I highly Reccomend this place if your hotel doesn't offer a free breakfast like ours didn't. It was also nice that we could walk over from our hotel.

We loved the atmosphere which they have live music playing! Our server was very kind and gave us recommendations. We were able to split and share a Cesar salad and they gave two plates to share which was kind instead of one big plate and we appreciated that. I give 4/5 stars for the quality of the food only because I felt the spaghetti noodles were a little salty along with the sauce being salty. I love love love spaghetti and this was the first time I've been to an Italian restaurant and felt something was salty because I'm never one to complain. It could have been an off day but from the time we ordered to the actual dinner entrees to come took more than 20 minutes and it wasn't too crowded. Also, we ordered cannolis and the shell didn't seem crunchy/fresh but the flavor was there and the texture of the ricotta was smooth! For a couple who ordered 2 appetizers , two main entrees, one bottle of red wine , and two cannolis to share, we spent about 200 which was a little bit pricier than we usual experience at a typical Italian restaurant so just a heads up. Otherwise, this is a good place for fine dining in the area with nice staff and good portion food

While a table was booked for 6:45 they didn't seat us til 7:!5. The waiter was awful - didn't introduce himself, didn't care about anything (other than maybe his girlfriend in the bar area), knew nothing about the L'Aquila tasting menu and provided no insights to the dishes, charged us $14/martini despite menu stating $8/drink. While the owner's write up and online menu included a dessert (Ferratelle Dolci), no dessert was offered or included at the actual dinner and the server said 'nope - no dessert'. This is so misleading and unexcusable when the promoted dinner menu includes it. Overall a disaster of a dinner - and sadly the food wasn't good either. The tomato starter was uninspired, the pasta cheese sauce hinted of Kraft or pre-packaed, and the lamb skewers were overcooked to the point of being almost jerky. Clearly an owner who spends more time writing his articles than he does training staff, providing food that matches the actual online menu, and ensuring some level of quality. So, can't recommend this place until substantial improvements are made.
